    Beth Phoenix def. Maria
Rey Mysterio def. Batista (No. 1 Contender’s Match)

LAREDO, Texas – World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker walked out of WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs (WWE TLC Photos) with the “Holy Grail” of the squared circle still firmly in his grasp. But just when it looked as if the SmackDown stage was destined for a second-coming showdown between The Phenom and Batista, the unrelenting spirit of one Superstar changed the path of Christmas future forever.

Rey Mysterio def. Batista in a No. 1 Contender’s Match for the World Heavyweight Championship (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Friday night began in a fury of Animalistic rage as Batista interrupted SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, demanding a rematch with World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker following the GM’s controversial actions at WWE TLC. However, when Rey Mysterio emerged to challenge the irate Animal, Teddy Long declared that the two former comrades-in-arms would face each other, with the winner becoming the No. 1 Contender to the World Title, challenging The Demon of Death Valley Christmas Night! (PHOTOS | WATCH)

No matter what punishment Batista threw Mysterio’s way in the grueling main event, The Master of the 619 with the heart of a lion simply refused to be beaten. Then, from out of nowhere, the WWE Universe erupted into a mad frenzy as the masked Superstar overcame the odds, using a sudden small package to snatch the win from his bewildered adversary.

As a result of his huge triumph, Rey Mysterio will challenge The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship on Christmas Night.

Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, & Luke Gallows def. John Morrison, Matt Hardy & R-Truth (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The self-proclaimed “Chosen One” Drew McIntyre returned from WWE TLC the new Intercontinental Champion. But when bedlam took over in the Six-Man Tag Team Match he was involved in, it was Luke Gallows that found the way to win. The Superstar formally known as Festus used his new-found focus to pass CM Punk’s 2009 Slammy Award directly to “his savior.” This allowed The Second City Saint to smash Matt Hardy in the abdomen and claim victory for his team.

The Great Khali def. Chris Jericho by count-out (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Chris Jericho appeared before the WWE Universe in a completely disillusioned state, returning to SmackDown after a very hard week. Just one day after he and Big Show lost the Unified Tag Team Championships to D-Generation X at WWE TLC, DX tricked the previously dominant duo out of their rematch and unceremoniously kicked the self proclaimed “Face of SmackDown” unceremoniously off Monday Night Raw.

Jericho attempted to turn his luck around on SmackDown as he faced the returning Great Khali. However, after diving out of the ring to escape the Punjabi Plunge, Jericho decided not to return, handing his huge opponent a huge return victory.

The Hart Dynasty def. Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Despite an explosive effort by their opponents, David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd reigned supreme over Yang & Slam Master J with the combined help of Natalya and The Hart Attack. Once again, The Hart Dynasty utilized their amazing tag team skills and cunning quick-thinking forged in the legendary Hart Dungeon.

On Christmas Night, D-Generation X will come to SmackDown to present a special DX Christmas. But The Hart Dynasty hopes to overshadow it with their own celebration. As the next generation of Hart Superstars will challenge DX for the Unified Tag Team Championships, they promised to settle a score that has existed for more than a decade by taking the illustrious titles away from The Game & HBK.

Kane def. Eric Escobar (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In her unrelenting pursuit to punish Eric Escobar for his continued barrage of colorful insults, Official SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero gave her ex-boyfriend a Big, Red birthday present in the form Kane. Though Escobar continued to stand up against Guerrero’s insurmountable opposition for the third week in a row, he fell short at the hands of his frightening adversary’s vicious chokeslam.

However, after withstanding another brutal beating, Escobar still managed to ridicule Guerrero after the match, much to the delight of the WWE Universe.

Beth Phoenix def. Maria (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Although the 2009 Slammy Award winning Diva of the Year Maria made a spirited effort in her match against Beth Phoenix, the irresistible force of The Fabulous Firebird dominated, paving the way for her earth-shattering Glam Slam and the victory.

Sheamus talks about his WWE Title win

His WWE Title win: “I came here to make a statement, to be the top wrestler in the world. That was the goal, and the goal has been achieved."

The Response from His WWE Title Win: “My family stayed up until 3 a.m. watching the show. They are in their element. I’m getting response from people I haven’t heard from in years.”

    His Tables
Match With John Cena: “I’m pretty beaten up. t was pretty crazy. There were a lot of tables used, rafters used. I’m a bit battered but it doesn’t really matter. The fact that I’m the first Irish WWE champion – that overwhelms everything.”

Saturday's Tribute To The Troops show: “It’s a big show on NBC. I have a lot of respect for the troops. I know there are a lot of Irish Americans who go to war and I’ve met a lot of them. To put your life on hold to go and serve your country, well, no matter what, you’ve got to have a lot of respect for that.”

    Keert hall terug naar TNA

Scott Hall making a return to TNA Wrestling?

    Credit: prowrestling.net

Regarding Scott Hall coming to TNA, there are still some bad feelings from within the company after he no-showed a PPV two years ago. Hall has been receiving positive reports from independent shows and his name keeps coming up due to his history with Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan. While it’s said that Nash has Dixie Carter’s ear and could possibly have Hall brought in, he has been telling people he doesn’t know of any plans for Hall to return.

"The Pope" talks about joining TNA

Alex Marvez has an interview up with TNA star "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero at this link. During the interview, Dinero talks about making the jump from WWE (where he was Elijah Burke) to TNA and signing a long-term contract extension:

"I have absolutely nothing but positive thoughts about coming here. This is literally a stress-free environment. Everyone is just like a big family. This is my first time experiencing that. The funny part is that it seems (WWE) can only push one black wrestler at a time. God forbid you push two black guys at the same time. They've always had this problem. It's something I've been in discussion about with (TNA President) Dixie Carter because it's something I feel TNA needs to tackle even though I think they do a great job with diversity. Why it didn't happen in WWE? I have no idea."

Cryme Tyme def. Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox
    Vance Archer def. Tommy Dreamer
    MVP def. Jack Swagger

On “WWE Superstars” this week the WWE Universe watched as MVP even the score between himself and frequent rival Jack Swagger, while three other Superstars added to their already considerable momentum.

Don’t know where to catch “WWE Superstars”? Find WGN America in your area. Can't see “WWE Superstars” on WGN America in your area? Stay with WWE.com for full results, photos and video clips of all the action.

    MVP def. Jack Swagger
Fans of Raw are well familiar with the enmity between MVP and Jack Swagger, as the two have frequently found themselves circling one another like junkyard dogs. On the last “WWE Superstars,” the two ring warriors squared off with “The All-American American” leaving with his hand raised in victory. The previous week’s loss must have given The Ballin’ Superstar the motivation he needed however, as he took the fight to Swagger, ending the match with a decisive pin.

    Vance Archer def. Tommy Dreamer
Since his WWE debut, Vance Archer has terrorized ECW on Syfy, steamrolling through any competition brave enough to stand toe-to-toe with this intense young Superstar. Though he put up an impressive fight, Tommy Dreamer was unable to reverse this trend, falling victim to the still undefeated Archer. Can anyone hope to slow this aggressive ring warrior’s rise to the top?

Cryme Tyme def. Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox
“WWE Superstars” opened with a match-up between SmackDown’s “robbin’ hoods,” JTG & Shad and their opponents, Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox. Though Ziggler & Knox have both proven themselves to be formidable competitors in singles competition, ultimately it was the experienced tag-team know-how of Cryme Tyme that carried the day, as JTG pinned Big Mike Knox for the win.

BRET HART KEERT EVEN TERUG NAAR WWE

    Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to a WWE source who would have full knowledge of the situation, Bret Hart has indeed signed a short-term talent contract with World Wrestling Entertainment,

The WWE Hall of Famer signed the this past week and it will cover the period from 1/1 to 4/10, or through WrestleMania and about two weeks after the 3/28 show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

Hart simply told a reliable source that he wasn't going to lie about anything and thus wasn't going to comment on this story
It was said that Hart wanted his signing to be kept quiet and his return to be a surprise, but that WWE couldn't help itself but all but announced it publicly on the first RAW after the ink was dry.

EXCLUSIVE: TNA To Make Major Set Changes

Over the last few weeks I've been hearing about a major overhaul of the TNA 'iMPACT! Zone' in Orlando, FL. I have been holding off on reporting anything until I could get further confirmation.

I've been told that Eric Bischoff's production company is the contractor logged in to oversee the overhaul. TNA has to notify lease agents, insurers and park officials of any construction activities because they can interrupt the filming of other productions on the lot.

I would expect a brand new set to debut on the January 4th TNA iMPACT!. There are also rumors about the six-sided ring being replaced by a 20 x 20 ring although I can't confirm that. I've sent off several emails and have not heard back just yet. Hulk Hogan has also said numerous times that he's not a fan of the six-sided ring.

I hope to have more information in the coming days. Stay tuned to eWrestlingNews.com.

VERSCHILLENDE WRESTLERS VREZEN VOOR HUN JOB

A number of undercard performers are worried about their jobs since WWE typically cleans house following the holiday season and there's been ongoing discussions about changing the company's Tuesday night programming. It was reported earlier this week that the organization is expected to release several talents from the main roster early next year to coincide with the changes being made to the SmackDown and ECW brands.

    Update Mickie James

Mickie James has finally commented on WWE's ongoing mockery of her weight as she feels "the example being set [to girls] is pathetic." Mickie made the comment while responding to a concerned fan who wrote to her on Twitter (http://twitter.com/mickiejamesdiva) regarding WWE cracking jokes about her weight. The worried fan wrote:

"I'm really offended right now with the WWE making jokes about your weight. I'm really worried about girls who watch wrestling, see this kind of thing, and fall victim to hating their bodies. Because honey, if you’re not a perfect 10, I've never seen one. Why are they letting this charade happen?"

    James responded with the following:

"Awe! Thank you, sweetie. And I agree. I think the example being set is pathetic. Giving the youth a warped perception of beauty. After all… one has to love themselves first. Society makes that hard. No worries. I love myself and my body. 130 is hardly fat."

A short while later, a story broke online quoting James as saying WWE's handling of the storyline as "pathetic." The multi-time champion clarified her initial comments by responding with the following, "I never said WWE...if anyone read it, I said society. If people want to use quotes from my twitter please make sure you quote me correctly!"

While James did not specifically mention WWE in her response, the message which she responded to was completely related to her employer's ongoing mockery of her weight.
