A limousine burst into flames outside the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza
in Wilkes-Barre Township late Monday, presumably killing long-time
World Wrestling Entertainment Chairman Vince McMahon.
Or so WWE would like its fans to believe.
WWE fans around the country were treated to an explosive ending to
a sold-out Monday Night Raw, live at the Northeastern Pennsylvania
arena for a special three-hour broadcast. McMahons apparent demise,
however, was just another twist in the male soap operas story line.
As far as Wilkes-Barre Township Police Chief Robert Brozowski
knows, McMahon is alive and well. WWE taped the explosion Sunday night
on the arena property under controlled conditions with the townships
permission, he said. WWE representatives purchased a permit from the
township after providing proof of insurance and certification to use
pyrotechnics.
Deerfield, N.Y.-based Zenith Pyrotechnology performed the
controlled explosion before township firefighters extinguished the
blaze.
Still, the supposed death of McMahon in Wilkes-Barre created quite
a stir. Concerned fans and curious media members across the country
called the Wilkes-Barre Township police and Wilkes-Barre City police to
inquire about the explosion, shown live on the USA Network.
Lt. Will Clark of the Wilkes-Barre Township police even took a call
from Warner Bros. asking if a body had been sent to the coroners
office yet.
The end result is everybody thought it was real, and we got
inundated with calls about the homicide that doesnt exist, Clark
said. It comes down to the old adage you dont always believe what you
see on TV.
The only evidence of an explosion at the arena was a small, black
scorch mark in the parking lot behind the facility, hidden from public
view.
There was no indication an allegedly fatal explosion occurred just nights earlier.
Still, the WWE contends McMahon may be dead. In fact, a full
investigation into the suspicious incident is under way, according to a
WWE press release, although full details have not been disclosed.
WWEs Web site also features one fans account describing McMahons
scorched body hanging out of the limousine.
No suspects are being ruled out, according to the release. Real
estate magnate Donald Trump, rapper Snoop Dogg, NBCs Bob Costas and
wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin all made negative statements about
McMahon the night of the bombing, the release also pointed out.
But would any go so far as to actually blow him up? the release asks.
Luzerne County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Lisman said no one advised the coroners office of McMahons death.
I dont know what the heck youre talking about, he said.
Steve Poremba, marketing coordinator at the arena, was mum on what
really happened Sunday and Monday nights and referred all questions to
WWEs headquarters in Connecticut.
WWE spokesman Kevin Hennessy declined comment, but assured the limousine has been disposed of properly.
Meanwhile, WWEs Web site declared Tuesday a day of mourning for
the organization. Flags at WWEs headquarters were flown at half-staff,
and the McMahon family will issue an online statement today, according
to the Web site.
A woman from Arizona called The Citizens Voice on Tuesday and said
the show was so convincing, she had to find out if McMahon actually
died.
She noted fans could never know for sure whether something is
staged after the death of Owen Hart in 1999. The 34-year-old fell to
his death at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo., during a
pay-per-view event.
Hart was being lowered into the ring from the rafters of the arena
as part of a skit when the hoist malfunctioned. Hart fell 78 feet and
hit his chest on the turnbuckle, severing his aorta. He died about an
hour later.
However, this death which came during McMahons self-proclaimed Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night is a hoax, Brozowski said.
Vince lives on, he said. I wish him a speedy recovery. Im sure
hes sitting in a nice hotel room in Trump Plaza laughing like a
bastard.

PHILADELPHIA After the devastation of Mondays Raw, the Superstars of SmackDown
and the new draftees paid tribute to Mr. McMahon throughout the night.
As questions swirl around the tragic events that befell the Chairman,
SmackDown carried on the show, hoping to relieve some of the emotional
stress that haunts them in the wake of the horrendous limo explosion.
One of the bright spots coming out of Monday night was the drafting of four new Superstars to Friday nights, and new draftee Ric Flair arrived and went straight to the top for his first fight a non-title contest against World Heavyweight Champion Edge. Earlier in the night, Flairs former Evolution teammate and protégé Batista was in non-title action against United States Champion MVP.
As The Animals pursuit of the Rated-R Superstar and his gold will
continue at Vengeance: Night of Champions in a Last Chance Match, their
paths crossed once more on SmackDown.
In other action, the WWE Tag Team Champions Deuce & Domino defeated Paul London & Brian Kendrick.
The boys from the Other Side of the Tracks used their powerful,
in-your-face style to pick up the win in what could be their last
appearance on SmackDown together. With the Supplemental Draft scheduled
for Sunday at noon ET exclusively on WWE.com, Deuce & Domino, as
well as every other SmackDown Superstar, are still in danger of moving
from Friday nights.
One Superstar who thrives on danger is Matt Hardy, who took on William Regal
in one-on-one action. Hardy has been one of the hottest Superstars in
all of WWE lately, on a winning streak unmatched in recent memory
before catching the ire of the presumed dead Chairman. Regal, however,
began the night with a heartfelt address over the events involving Mr.
McMahon, and he couldnt find a way to overcome both Hardy and his
emotions. Matt Hardy can certainly feel on track after the win on
SmackDown.
Finally, Jimmy Wang Yang became the No. 1 contender to Cruiserweight Champion of the World Chavo Guerrero and his title. Yang was able to defeat Shannon Moore, Jamie Noble and Daivari
in a Fatal Four Way match to decide who would take on Guerrero at
Vengeance: Night of Champions. Yang has had major success in non-title
matches against the champion, but Guerrero is a veteran who always
shines brightest in the big moment. Can SmackDowns resident redneck
find the key to success once more at Vengeance: Night of Champions?
WWE is saddened to learn of the death of WWE Hall of Famer Sensational Sherri. She was 49.
She passed away at her mothers home in Birmingham, Ala. Friday morning, according to her husband of 10 years, Robert Schrull.
Its a great loss to the wrestling world, he told WWE.com. The couple resided in St. Petersburg, Fla.
In the early 1980s, Sherri began her career in the AWA. In 1985, she defeated Candi Devine to become the AWA Womens Champion. Their rivalry lasted more than a year, with the championship trading hands on several occasions.
It was during this time that she began perfecting her skills as a manager, leading Playboy Buddy Rose and Pretty Boy Doug Somers to the AWA Tag Team Championship. On June 28, 1986, Martel would win the AWA Womens Championship for a third and final time from Candi Devine.
On July 24, 1987, Sensational Sherri debuted in WWE, pinning her trainer and mentor the Fabulous Moolah to become Womens Champion. Sherri defended the gold against Debbie Combs, Velvet McIntyre, and Desiree Peterson.
She quickly earned the reputation as someone who would do anything to win, even if it meant using unsavory tactics. Her rivalry with Moolah continued as they became the captains for the first-ever female Survivor Series teams in 1989. Sherri held the championship for 15 months before losing to Rockin Robin.
In the early 90s WWE phased out the Womens Division, leaving Sherri to focus on managing the male wrestlers. Her first client was Macho Man Randy Savage. It was during this time that she became Sensation Queen.
The couple had rivals with Miss Elizabeth, Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire. In 1991, The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase enlisted her services. After that relationship dissolved, she took on the managerial duties of Shawn Michaels.
In 1994, Sherri appeared in WCW as Sensuous Sherri managing Ric Flair during his rivalries with Sting and Hulk Hogan. After separating from Flair, she became Sister Sherri guiding Harlem Heat to seven WCW Tag Team Championships.
Sherri was enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase was her presenter.
Abyss Returns On A Mission To Annihilate Christian Cage Impact Results
June 14th, 2007 22:01 NEWS FROM THURSDAYS IMPACT! BROADCAST ON SPIKE TV The final countdown to Sundays Slammiversary Pay-Per-View By Bill Banks
There are several major news items to report on from Thursdays iMPACT! as TNA Wrestling counts down the hours until this Sundays Slammiversary Pay-Per-View epic event from Nashville, Tennessee!
REVENGE: ABYSS RETURNS TO ANNIHILATE CHRISTIAN CAGE! On Thursday night, Christian Cage was set to compete in his King Of The Mountain qualifier, but he didnt know who his opponent would be. To Cages shock, it would turn out to be the returning Abyss who was on a mission to completely annihilate The Instant Classic. Abyss was a monster possessed in the match and not even interference from Tomko and AJ Styles could help Cage. Abyss would ultimately get himself disqualified for hitting senior referee Rudy Charles with a steel chair, allowing Cage to advance to the Pay-Per-View main event. After the bout, Abyss unloaded a bag of broken glass to exact his revenge on Cage, but The Instant Classic escaped the monsters wrath!
THE FALLEN ANGEL COSTS STING HIS SECOND CHANCE AT KOTM Also on Thursday night, Jim Cornette gave Sting, Rhino and Tomko a second chance at gaining entry into the King Of The Mountain match when he signed Sting, Tomko and Rhino to face Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. If Sting, Tomko or Rhino were able to pin one of their opponents, they would take their place in the main event bout. Prior to the match, Tomko was attacked backstage and was unable to compete in the bout. In hindsight, it must have been Abyss. Later, "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels attempted to enter the match in Tomko's place, but he instead blindsided Sting, causing the icon to get beat by Kurt Angle!
TWO NEW MATCHES SIGNED FOR SUNDAYS SLAMMIVERSARY During Thursdays SpikeTV broadcast, two new matches were announced for Sundays Pay-Per-View. The first will feature Wildcat Chris Harris and The War Machine Rhino (along with Hector Guerrero) taking on The Latin American Xchange (with Konnan). Also signed for Sunday after iMPACT! went off the air is The Icon Sting taking on The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels!
In other news from Thursdays iMPACT! The combination of The Steiner Brothers and Basham & Damaja got the win over Team 3D and the Voodoo Kin Mafia when Christy Hemme interfered, allowing her team to get the win. Also on the program, The Guru Sonjay Dutt led Kevin Nash and Black Machismo Jay Lethal in meditation to help Lethal prepare for his X Championship bout this Sunday against Chris Sabin!

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. History will forever remember the extraordinary events that transpired on Raw Monday night. None, however not an incredible WWE Draft, nor an unbelievable Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night will be regarded so momentous as what appear to be the WWE Chairmans final instants on Raw and on this earth. Only hours after promising that tonight will be the defining moment of my life, Mr. McMahon is presumed dead victim to a horrific explosion that suddenly and inexplicably emanated from his limousine.
Though tragedy now hangs over World Wrestling Entertainment like a black, ominous cloud, the seemingly final three hours of Mr. McMahons life showcased unbelievable tri-branded ring action featuring Superstars from Raw, SmackDown and ECW. Winners of each match would determine which brand would earn the next random selection in WWEs lottery-based Draft. The picks themselves drew a plethora of emotions from all three brand locker rooms and in one case, Extreme controversy. For the implications resulting from the WWE Draft selections,
SmackDown would draw first interpromotional blood inside the sold-out Wachovia Arena, thanks to the brands World Heavyweight Champion Edge. No titles were on the line as the Rated-R Superstar faced off against longtime Raw rival, WWE Champion John Cena. But that wouldnt stop the Ultimate Opportunist from breaking up an attempted FU onto the announcers table, then capitalizing on an opening that gave him the count-out victory. That said, Cena can take comfort in the fact that by losing the match, he also lost the gigantic threat to his WWE Title in recent months. Edge, meanwhile, looked understandably concerned as SmackDowns first random Draft pick was introduced to our fans: the Indian colossus, The Great Khali.
Some may debate whether or not ECW truly reaped the Draft benefits following the next contest, in which CM Punk picked up the pinfall over Carlito. The Straightedge Superstar may have given the Go to Sleep to cover Raws rotten apple, but he and ECWs other Superstars better have Extreme stomachs for the brands newest member the clock-bashing, worm-eating freak called Boogeyman.
Raw quickly picked up a two-for-one deal in the WWE Draft moments after Umaga Samoan-Bulldozed his way to victory past ECWs Balls Mahoney. Though Mahoneys efforts were valiant, Umagas savagery and a powerful Samoan Spike to the throat proved too much to overcome. As a result, royalty now becomes Raw, which for the long foreseeable future will hail King Booker & Queen Sharmell.
ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley would counter numerous submission maneuvers to emerge triumphant in a hotly-contested interpromotional match against SmackDowns Chris Benoit. But earning his brand the WWE Drafts next lottery-based pick would produce one of the evenings more ironic outcomes, as none other than the Rabid Wolverine was selected. Both men shook hands out of respect before exiting the ring, though Benoit made it immediately known that when he enters the Land of the Extreme this Tuesday night on ECW on Sci Fi (10/9 CT), he will begin a quest to capture the ECW World Title.
Raw newcomer and Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella gained immeasurable ring experience by going up against ballin United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter. Unfortunately for Marella, despite continuing to win over our fans and further demonstrate his vastly improving mat skills, it was MVP whod deliver the decisive Playmaker, and prove once more why he deserves consideration as SmackDowns Franchise Playa. And thats exactly where hell remain for now; his non-title win earned a second Draft pick for SmackDown, which will now have beautiful WWE Diva Torrie Wilson spicing up Friday nights on The CW Network (8/7 CT).
It seemed certain that ECW would garner a third WWE Draft pick after the maniacal Snitsky all but obliterated poor Mike The Miz Mizanin. Unfortunately, Snitskys vicious instincts got the better of him; his post-match beatdown on the SmackDown Superstar was so relentless that officials had no choice but to reverse the decision and award The Miz with the victory. As a result, SmackDown drew Chris Masters as its third selection for the night, and he may be a veritable Masterpiece in progress; hes a sure-fire cinch to Master Lock any SmackDown Superstar who stands in his way on his climb to the top.
By adding to her already remarkable win streak of late, Candice Michelle would also hand Raw the evenings most impactful and most certainly controversial Draft pick. Moments after the Diva covered SmackDowns Kristal for the three-count, our fans everywhere were shocked by the Raw brands randomly selected Draft pick: ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley! But within moments of coming out to the Raw stage and acknowledging the sold-out crowd, Raw Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman also walked out with some news of his own: Lashley would make the switch to his new promotion without the ECW gold. Acting on orders from Mr. McMahon himself, Coachman officially stripped Lashley of the ECW World Title, just eight days after he won it back from Mr. McMahon in a brutal Street Fight at One Night Stand.
Though the pain etched on his face was more than apparent, Lashley relinquished his most valued possession but not without grabbing the microphone and giving Coachman a stern message: You stripped the ECW Title from me, but Im still a champion . On Raw, Im gonna prove it.
Batista seemed to have something of his own to prove in a Triple Threat Match against Raws Jeff Hardy and ECWs Elijah Burke. Unleashing an Animal rage borne from the recent frustrations caused by World Heavyweight Champion Edge, the powerhouse Superstar earned SmackDowns fourth Draft selection after planting Burke to the canvas with a thunderous Batista Bomb. As for the pick itself, no one was more elated than The Animal to see his one-time Evolution colleague the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
All three brands would participate in the final match of the night, a 15-Man Battle Royal to determine which brand would gain the WWE Drafts final two selections. Randy Orton would ultimately oust SmackDowns Matt Hardy over the top rope to claim victory for Raw, resulting in two senses-shattering Draft picks that got the Wachovia Arena crowd on its feet: ECWs psychotic Snitsky and SmackDowns loudmouth Superstar, Mr. Kennedy.
Tragically, however, tonight was about far more than the WWE Draft. At first, everyone believed that meant Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night, which was celebrated the entire evening with decidely marked comments from WWE Hall of Famers (former Minnesota Governor Jesse The Body Ventura, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, The Iron Sheik, Bret Hit Man Hart, Bobby The Brain Heenan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Capt. Lou Albano, Dusty Rhodes and Mean Gene Okerlund), WWE Legends (Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley, the latter of whom also threw his hat in the WWE Championship Challenge Match at Vengeance: Night of Champions) and A-list celebrities (rap legend Snoop Dogg, Jackass Steve-O, billionaire battler Donald Trump, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and sportscaster/talk show host Bob Costas).
Also making an appearance on the TitanTron was ousted Diva Ashley, whom the WWE Chairman had indefinitely suspended for accidentally spilling coffee on him at SmackDown last week. Recalling how Mr. McMahon once forced retired Diva Trish Stratus to bark like a dog on all fours in her underwear, Ashley decided to show her appreciation for the bossby re-enacting a similar moment through the Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young, much to the dismay of the entire Raw audience. To hear Ashley and others speak out on Mr. McMahon,
Still, at the end of the night, no one could have possibly predicted the vicious way in which Raw, the WWE Draft or Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night would end. The car bombing that apparently claimed Mr. McMahons life has sent shockwaves that will radiate throughout Raw, SmackDown and ECWs locker rooms for months, possibly years. How each Superstar will rise from the ashes of this terrible tragedy remains to be seen.

ORLANDO, Fla. As all of WWE and ECW braces itself for the draft on Mondays Raw, the World Heavyweight Champion Edge is taking all precautions to protect the title from Batista. After Edges attempted attack during The Animals match with United States Champion MVP backfired, the Ultimate Opportunist may be more concerned than ever that his title is in jeopardy. Earlier in the night, Edge had been in non-title action vs. Chris Benoit, as part of the first two huge announcements made by Assistant General Manager Vickie Guerrero.
Action in the ring was mild in comparison to the actions of the Chairman, as Mr. McMahon continued his heinous week when he visited SmackDown. The tormented McMahon made life miserable for any Superstar that crossed his path, including World Heavyweight Champion Edge, General Manager Theodore Long and especially SmackDown Diva Ashley, among others. The tirades of the Chairman have sent shockwaves through the world of sports-entertainment.
Mark Henry has made the thrill of victory a permanent feeling since returning to SmackDown, and his path of glory has meant a path of pain for anyone who has stepped in his way. After wearing down and dominating Kane at One Night Stand in a Lumberjack Match, Henry was faced with taking on Boogeyman on SmackDown. The self-proclaimed Silverback dominated the worm-eating Superstar en route to another impressive win. Henry then made sure that it was known that not even the smallest of animals was safe in his jungle when he brutally attacked and annihilated Little Boogeyman. (Watch)
Coming off of losing the World Tag Team Championship with his brother Jeff, Matt Hardy was thrust into a Handicap Match against the WWE Tag Team Champions at the behest of Mr. McMahon. The courageous Hardy fought with everything he had, pushing the tag champs to the limits, and when it seemed Matt had the match won after a Twist of Fate, Deuce delivered a vicious Crack em in da Mouth to get the pin.
Finally, in Six-Man Tag Team action, Paul London & Brian Kendrick teamed with Jimmy Wang Yang to defeat Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero, Daivari & Jamie Noble. With the Draft approaching, could this be the last time London & Kendrick stand together as a team in a SmackDown ring?
Who will be drafted away from Friday Night SmackDown? On Monday, during the Draft and Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night, the fate of WWE and ECW Superstars will be decided, and nobody is safe. Tune in at the special start time of 8/7 CT on USA Network for Raw and catch the historic night.
Controversy In KOTM Qualifier - News From Thursday's "iMPACT!" Impact Results
June 7th, 2007 22:00 NEWS FROM THURSDAYS HUGE iMPACT! ON SPIKE TV By Bill Banks
There are several news items to report from Thursdays iMPACT! broadcast as TNA Wrestling prepares for the June 17 Slammiversary Pay-Per-View event live from Nashville, Tennessee! Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.com!
HARRIS AND STORM BATTLE TO COUNTOUT IN KOTM QUALIFIER On Thursdays iMPACT!, former tag team partners turned bitter enemies Wildcat Chris Harris and Cowboy James Storm collided in another King Of The Mountain qualifying bout. However, both TNA stars were counted out during the bloody and chaotic melee after Harris speared Storm through the entrance ramp! Now, everyone is wondering how TNA management director Jim Cornette plans to address the situation. Following the bout, two more longtime enemies reignited their feud as Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle and The Samoan Submission Machine brawled after watching the main event unfold.
CHRISTIAN CAGE AND TOMKO APPARENTLY RESOLVE THEIR DIFFERENCES Also on Thursday, Tomko arrived looking to find Christian Cage for costing him his KOTM qualifier and later found him trying to hide in disguise. Confronted by Tomko, Cage told him that he was the one who brought him into wrestling. He was the one who got him a job in TNA and gave him a taste of stardom. Cage also made the argument to Tomko that it was his own fault he didnt use the chair on AJ Styles the week prior! Cage finally asked Tomko - "So are you with me or not?" Tomko released Cage and walked off, apparently seeing his point of view. Speaking of Cage, as iMPACT! went off the air, The Instant Classic was demanding to know who his opponent will be next week in the King Of The Mountain qualifying match.
OTHER NEWS ITEMS FROM THURSDAYS IMPACT!:
- In an attempt to resolve their ongoing feud, Sting and The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels came face to face to discuss the situation on iMPACT!. With Mike Tenay moderating, Daniels told Sting he was only following his own words - wrath, consequences and pain. In turn, Sting told Daniels he had it all wrong - that wasn't what he meant by their talks. Daniels finally resolved to "make things right" with Sting, as both TNA stars parted ways amicably.
- During Thursdays Jerry Lynn vs. Robert Roode bout, Ms. Brooks once again interfered costing Lynn the bout in favor of Roode. This brought out TNA management director Jim Cornette, who ordered Ms. Brooks to face Gail Kim on the broadcast. Brooks later attacked Gail in the backstage makeup room, leading to the battle inside the ring. In the end, it was Gail getting the win over Brooks - but Robert Roode hit the ring irate and confronted her. Ms. Brooks blindsided her opponent and continued the punishment. After the beating, Roode told Ms. Brooks to raise his hand in victory!
- Also on the broadcast, Sonjay Dutt revealed to Kevin Nash and Black Machismo Jay Lethal his new outlook on his wrestling career. ORLANDO, Fla. As our fans saw on Raw Monday night, the loss of the ECW World Title at One Night Stand left Mr. McMahon unhinged. He was incoherent at times, eyes bulging one minute and then gazing off into oblivion the next minute. Tonight, he returned to ECW on Sci Fi and was focused on getting revenge on the man who was responsible for driving him to the brink of insanity, new ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley.
Mr. McMahon forced Lashley to face ECW Originals Tommy Dreamer, Sandman and Balls Mahoney in a 3-on-1 Handicap Hardcore Match. The Originals had no choice but to compete in the match there was speculation that they would have faced the maniacal Chairmans wrath or possible firing if they refused.
The contest between Lashley and Dreamer, Sandman and Mahoney was a war. No one was afraid to use weapons, no matter how much respect they had for one another. Meanwhile, the Chairman seemed even more unstable than before, sitting in a rocking chair stone-faced. But perhaps most disturbing was his reaction when Lashley prevailed once again, foiling McMahons attempt at retribution.
One faction that sought retribution and possibly some redemption tonight was the New Breed. After losing a Six-Man Tag Team Tables Match to CM Punk, Dreamer & Sandman at One Night Stand, Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von & Matt Striker knew that tonight was possibly their last night as a unit because of the upcoming WWE Draft. Burke & Cor Von took on the Major Brothers, who upset Cor Von & Striker several weeks ago. The brother duo put up a courageous fight, but the New Breed leader and his enforcer overwhelmed them with a ferocious onslaught.
Striker was less successful than his teammates. ECWs resident teacher was determined to teach a lesson to New Breed nemesis CM Punk. But Striker whose less-than-stellar win-loss record has caused some tension between him and his New Breed brethren came up short against the Straightedge Superstar, who was saluted by his legion of fans who may have seen their hero for the last time on ECW on Sci Fi. Punk smiled and gazed in awe as the crowd at the Amway Arena chanted, CM Punk! CM Punk!
One former New Breed member who may be looking forward to the Draft is Kevin Thorn, who has left a bloody trail of destruction since he left the faction. Thorn has been looking for new blood, and whether he stays on ECW or is drafted to Raw or SmackDown, he is guaranteed to get it. Tonight, he continued his winning streak against Stevie Richards. The ECW pioneer gave the fanged freak everything he could handle, but Thorn ultimately overwhelmed him with his power and the Original Sin.
SCOTT STEINER SUFFERS TRACHEA INJURY by Mike Johnson @ 12:25:00 AM on 6/5/2007
One of the top matches for the TNA Slammiversary PPV may need to be changed as Scott Steiner, who was scheduled to reunite with his brother Rick to challenge TNA Tag Team champions Team 3D suffered a neck injury over the weekend at the TNA house show in Puerto Rico. The injury is believed to be to Steiner's trachea and he's scheduled to undergo surgery.
While we are still trying to confirm how long he'll be out of the ring, PWInsider.com can confirm Steiner will miss this weekend's scheduled bouts for Hermie Sadler's UWF in Philadelphia and Maryland. The UWF is already working on ideas for a new main event.

SCOTT STEINER SUFFERS INJURY IN PUERTO RICO, CURRENTLY IN SURGERY By: Bob Ryder 6/5/2007 1:56:42 AM
Scott Steiner suffered a fractured trachea in a match Sunday night in San Juan. Steiner was teaming with Cowboy James Storm in a tag match against Jeff Jarrett and Apolo. Near the end of the match Apolo caught Steiner in the throat with a superkick. Following the match Steiner was experiencing discomfort in his throat, but thought everything would be ok. A few hours later, at the hotel, he experienced breathing problems and began to cough up blood. He was taken to a San Juan hospital and was diagnosed with a fractured trachea.
Steiner is currently in surgery to repair the damage and the surgery is expected to last a couple of hours. He was advised by doctors to have the surgery in San Juan rather than risk flying home with the damage to his trachea.

TAMPA, Fla. Superstars leaving the Raw locker room Monday night were abuzz about Mr. McMahons odd behavior. One said he appeared a few fries short of a Happy Meal.
Others thought McMahons eyes looked vacant like the lights were on, but no one was home. He mentioned an ominous feeling and a black cloud that was following him all night, but no one seemed to understand what he was talking about.
Fact is, if you had gold around your waist Monday night, or had golden locks of hair, you were a target for Mr. McMahon, who appeared to be suffering traumatic effects from losing his ECW World Title at One Night Stand.
Could the boss have suffered brain damage from Bobby Lashleys blows on Sunday? Or was there something more devious on the mind of McMahon?
First, WWE Champion John Cena was victim to the Chairman, who accused The Champ of mocking him for losing his title. He then put Cena in a Triple Threat Match against Umaga and The Great Khali, which he survived.
Next, McMahon bumped into Santino Marella, who chastised the Chairman for yelling at Maria. That rebuke got Marella placed immediately in an impromptu Intercontinental Championship title defense against Chris Masters, in which the Italian wonder came out victorious.
McMahon saw The Hardys shiny World Tag Team Championships, and put them in a title defense against Cade & Murdoch, who capitalized on the weakened Carolina brothers to steal the gold away, ending their two-month title reign.
And then, the Chairmans coup de grace was his meeting with Ric Flair and Torrie Wilson in the arena hallway. After the pair made the mistake of giggling at McMahon, the former champion made the injured Wilson face former boyfriend Carlito, and made the 16-time World Champion square off with the Legend Killer Randy Orton.
Torrie met Carlito in the ring, and at first, the apple-toting Superstar seemed to show pity. He allowed the injured Diva to walk away and take a count-out loss once the bell rang. But as she turned her back to walk away, Carlito threw her to the mat. Then he picked her up and gave her a Backstabber to earn the disgraceful victory.
Flair tried to fend off Orton, but the Legend Killer conquered the Nature Boy with an RKO and a devestating kick to the head.
The only match that McMahon didnt mess with was another victory for Diva Candice Michelle, who teamed with Cryme Tyme to top the team of Melina, Johnny Nitro and Kenny Dykstra. It was Candices fourth straight win over the Womens Champion in as many weeks.
However, next weeks WWE Draft might be just the thing to help the Chairman recover from his clouded condition. McMahon had Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman announce that the three-hour selection spectacular from Wilkes-Barre, Pa., will also be Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night.
A heaping helping of praise for Mr. McMahon could snap the boss funk and better his mood in time for the excitement of the WWE Draft on Raw next week.

Less than 24 hours before Extreme Rules prevail at One Night Stand, Superstars from Raw, SmackDown and ECW battled in a proverbial circus of extremes that ranged from the biggest, the smallest, the strangest and the strongest. The result: one of the wildest editions of Saturday Nights Main Event in WWE history.
The biggest focused on none other than the 7-foot-3, 420-pound Great Khali, who seriously downsized WWE Champion John Cena in non-title competition before their Pinfalls Count Anywhere Match Sunday night. Despite besting the behemoth at Judgment Day by making him tap out to the STFU, The Champ has been measurably manhandled since (many say foolishly) challenging Khali to a rematch at One Night Stand. Saturday Nights Main Event proved no different. Cenas attempts to mount an offense highlighted by two failed efforts to heave the mammoth up in the FU only produced colossal elbows and size 18EEEE boots to his face, a giant chop across his skull and a monstrous chokeslam that laid him out. Khalis insultingly nonchalant pinfall victory over The Champ left our shocked fans asking the biggest question of all: If Cena cant hit the FU, how can he possibly pin Khali anywhere at One Night Stand?
SNMEs smallest altercation was anything but belittling for Hornswoggle and Little Boogeyman, whose tiny tete-a-tete on SmackDown Friday night once again drew Finlay and Boogeyman into their growing (?) rivalry. Early in the tag contest, the worm-eating wildmen from the Bottomless Pit threatened to walk tall, but Hornswoggles stunted shenanigans would eventually exploit the twin freaks short attention spans. Boogeyman would chase the spooked leprechaun up the entrance ramp, allowing Finlay to connect with a big boot to Little Boogeys face and pick up the three-count. The pitter-patter of panicked little feet rampaged around the arena hallway soon afterward, as an angry Little Boogeyman chased Hornswoggle back out to the ring and effectively cut short Extreme Exposes performance to Timbalands Throw it on Me. The leprechaun and mini-maniac earned huge cheers from the crowd when they next hoisted Brooke and Layla on their respective shoulders, prompting the bewildered beauties to playfully engage in a catfight (or in the case of these tiny terrors, a kitty-diddy).
Amazingly, SNMEs strangest encounter of the evening was an eclectic Six-Man Tag Match that seemed torn from the pages of Ripleys Believe it or Not, in which Umaga, Viscera & Kevin Thorn battled Kane, a superhero outfit-clad Eugene and the returning Doink the Clown. Despite early in-ring antics from Raws wrestling savant and WWEs classic horn-honking jokester, freakish fortune seemed to favor the Samoan Bulldozer, the Worlds Largest Love Machine and ECWs bloodsucking Superstar until SmackDowns Big Red Monster tagged in. Unleashing pure hell against the adversarial trio, Kanes bone-jarring chokelsam on the 500-pound Viscera powered his team to victory, and undoubtedly sent a chilling message to Mark Henry, his opponent at One Night Stand. The 380-pound strongman may have the mass going into their Lumberjack Match Sunday night, but the Big Red Monster is more than ready to deliver the mayhem.
Of course, Henry may not have received Kanes message, since he was helping ECW World Champion Mr. McMahon deliver one to Bobby Lashley. Moments before the strongest portion of Saturday Nights Main Event an Arm-Wrestling Contest took place, the self-professed Doctor of Hardcore suddenly bowed out. Rationalizing that hed get to embarrass Lashley at One Night Stand, Mr. McMahon decided to name Henry as his arm-wrestling replacement. Needless to say, it was all just a ploy for the Worlds Strongest Man to strong-arm Lashley, and allow the Worlds Strongest McMahon to demoralize his challenger less than 24 hours before their Street Fight for the ECW World Title. All signs point to Mr. McMahon having the last laugh Sunday night; can Lashley somehow curb the ego-centric Chairmans enthusiasm, and reclaim the ECW World Title?
Prior to SNMEs Tag Team Match against Batista & Chris Benoit, World Heavyweight Champion Edge informed Raw Diva Maria that he wasnt the biggest, the smallest, the strangest or the strongest. What I am, he claimed, is the greatest. If by that he meant nervously escaping up the ramp and leaving his partner United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter high and dry, then no ones better than the ultimate opportunist. Now mere hours away from meeting Batista inside a Steel Cage at One Night Stand, Edge looked more than a little shell-shocked to discover that The Animals heavily taped right hamstring (a well-documented injury resulting from three brutal encounters with Undertaker) no longer showed signs of hampering his awesome power. Therefore, the Rated-R Superstar decided to leave MVP to the not-so-tender mercies of Batista and the Rabid Wolverine, whose flying headbutt off the top rope secured the win. Hell have nowhere to run at One Night Stand, however; locked in the cage with a now-healthy Animal chomping at the bit, it may, in fact, be Edges last stand as champion.
