WWE boss Vince McMahon has been left "saddened" after his son Shane decided to quit the company.
Shane is currently one of the most powerful people in wrestling as the WWE's Executive Vice President of Global Media - heading up all their international development.
But earlier today he tendered his resignation and will leave on January 1 2010.
Shane said: "It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE into a global phenomenon.
"However, having been associated with this organisation for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures.
Vince added: "Even though I am personally saddened by Shane's decision to leave the company, I am proud of the enormous contributions he has made.
"He will unquestionably bring passion, commitment and extensive business experience to any endeavour he pursues."
Shane's mum Linda also recently resigned from her position as WWE CEO.
She is currently fighting to be named as the Republican candidate for the US Senate seat in Connecticut.
TNA wrestler Matt Morgan is nursing a back injury heading into his match with Kurt Angle at Sunday's Bound For Glory. He wrote the following message on his Twitter page:
"My back is in spasm in three areas, so I have no clue how I'm going to do this! My luck. Lol"
Here are some of the highlights of Traci's exclusive interview, provided by The Mayhem's official correspondent, Paterson From New Jersey:
The Main Event Mafia's Traci Brooks joined The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network as part of the countdown to TNA's Bound For Glory PPV this Sunday night from The Bren Events Center in Irvine, CA. As many have had the chance to see, TNA's original Knockout, has had the opportunity to cross over into the world of Playboy, and has received rave reviews for her work with the magazine. There has been many rumors swirling online how Traci was originally scheduled to be on the cover of Playboy, but was bumped for others, including Marge Simpson. Traci used The Mayhem's airwaves as a platform to address the controversy. "The funny thing is, you know how I feel about anything on the Internet. First of all, I was never promised the cover. That was someone posing to be me answering the question. I did the photo shoot in May, someone found out about it, & gave the information out...the wrong information of course. No one ever promised the cover. Hef (Hugh Hefner) had the final decision on the cover. Unfortunately Farrah Fawcett passed away, and if you go inside the magazine, she is the celebrity pictorial, which I was supposed to be, but he wanted to honor her, since she was in the magazine before. I got bumped for Farrah Fewcett, which I'm not going to complain about because she was a sex icon."
Some reports have recently surfaced that one of Traci's Main Event Mafia colleagues, Booker T, will be leaving TNA at the end of his current contract, and possibly return back to the WWE. Traci was asked how this could change The Mafia's dynamic, as well as if this could affect the long-term viability of the group going into its one-year anniversary as a faction. "Everything is going great. People need to focus more on what's going on TV than all the rumors backstage. We put on a helluva product, and right now, The Main Event Mafia is doing great. We're defending all the titles this week except for Kurt Angle wrestling Matt Morgan, and of course, Kurt is going to come out on top."
The original stomping grounds for TNA was not Universal Studios' iMPACT Zone, but The Nashville Fairgrounds, affectionately referrer to as "The Asylum." It has been reported that the fairgrounds may be either remodeled or torn down completely by the end of next summer. Traci's career with TNA Wrestling goes back to the original Wednesday night Pay-Per-View days of the company, when it was in its infancy stages. The Big Mosh asked Traci for her memories of performing there & her emotions on the news of the building closing next year. "It goes back before TNA, there was some great wrestling there. It was the home of TNA, and I have some great memories there. My debut, I went for the (NWA) Tag Team Titles with David Young. I always say my wrestling career started then. It will be sad to see the doors close on The Asylum."
Looking back on the rise of the Knockout division in TNA throughout the past several years, Traci Brooks was indeed there from the beginning of the women's division, and very much is proud to see the growth of one of the company's most important parts. The Mayhem Crew asked about the recent additions to the Knockouts division, plus what she wants to accomplish during the remainder of her TNA in-ring career. "I'm wrestling more, hopefully going for the gold with Sharmell. I can't be happier about Taylor (Wilde) & Sarita, good Canadian girls that are there, & holding the (Knockouts) Tag Team Titles. They represent TNA very well. They're beautiful, classy, & absolutely talented. I can't believe I went from being the only Knockout to there being 23 girls there now."
Regarding Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy), TNA is still expected to sign the former WWE Superstar, who is contractually free to join the company at anytime.
There are rumblings that he might not start until next year, but others believe the company is is trying to keep his debut a surprise and that he will appear at this Sundays Bound for Glory pay-per-view. Jason Powell of the Pro Wrestling Torch strongly feels he will be making his TNA debut this Sunday
- Kurt Angle & Mick Foley vs. Matt Morgan & Abyss They taped this match on Monday and from what I was told it was garbage so I guess they were intending to re-tape it tonight. Ended in 4:14 after Morgan hit a footprint on Foley.
- (Taped for Xplosion/web match) Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir & Kiyoshi in 4 minutes.Kiyoshi & Bashir beat down the machine guns afterwards.
- (Taped for Xplosion/web match) Taylor Wilde w/Sarita defeated Traci in 2:41 via German Suplex.
- Impact starts with an MEM promo. All of the MEM is out. There were so many boos that you could not make out what Kurt was saying. I heard that they were celebrating the MEM being around for a year and was essentially a pep talk showing how everyone needs to win their matches at BFG.
AJ/Beer Money/Matt Morgan/Hernandez/Team 3D come out on the ramp. Ray says that everyone is tired of the MEM. He hands the mic to the champ and calls BFG a make or break show in terms of the Mafia's tenure in TNA. Says they are 3 days away from the MEM ceasing to exist. Matt Morgan says he is not waiting 3 days. He runs down to the ring along with the rest on the ramp and a brawl starts. Security broke it up.
- The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky/Lacey Von Erich/Madison Rayne) vs. ODB/Amazing Kong with Raisha Saeed/Tara This match did not last long. Kong and Tara got in a disagreement and Kong left. Then ODB and Victoria got in a disagreement and she left ODB by herself to get pinned by Velvet. Lacey was hardly in the match to my recollection. Lasted about 3 minutes.
- X-Division Title Match: Amazing Red (C) with DON WEST vs. Suicide Needless to say I marked for this decision because back in the weekly PPV days, Don ALWAYS marked for Red including standing on the announce table and chanted "GO RED GO" in a couple matches. The match itself was good at about 3:40 in time. The Pope interfered and the match was ruled a no contest. Pope went to attack Suicide as Red looked on but Red hit Pope with a dropkick to send Pope to the back.
- Hernandez in a gauntlet match against The British Invasion. Eric Young is on commentary for this. Hernandez enters (in his old LAX gear AKA white wifebeater/khaki shorts). He gets in Eric Young's face and says something on the mic but I could not hear it. Doug Williams comes out and is eliminated in about a minute. Brutus Magnus is eliminated in about 2. Rob Terry is last and is taken out with a brutal Liger Bomb by Hernandez in about a 4 minute gauntlet. EY jumps Hernandez and he and the British Invasion beat him down.
- Christopher Daniels beat The Pope in about a 5 minute match via The Angel's Wings. Pretty good for what it was. Suicide runs out after the match and looks like he is going to go after the Pope but goes after Daniels instead and hits a Gringo Killer on Daniels and unmasks as Homicide. I am assuming Homicide somehow acquired Suicide's gear but I was a little confused by that.
- There is a lounge chair in the ring. Mick Foley comes out with a bowl of popcorn and sits in it. He essentially called Abyss "good for a Foley knockoff." He then airs some clips of Abyss. He shows Abyss with Mitchell calling having an evil manager "original." He shows Abyss pouring tacks in Monster's Ball III at BFG 06 mentioning how he did that in 1995. He then shows Abyss going through the flaming table at BFG IV saying how he did that with Edge in what was considered the Match of the Year. Abyss comes out with a Barbed Wire Bat. He pushes Foley out of the chair and holds the bat against him. A video is shown on the screen of (whom I assume to be Lauren) with her back to the camera and Stevie holding her. Foley tells Abyss to go find her. He runs to the back. They did not show the end to this segment. I would assume that it was Daffney disguised as Lauren and she and Stevie jumped Abyss.
- Alissa Flash vs. Ayako Hamada in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Pretty fun little brawl. Some spots included a curb stomp off the floor, Ayako doing a flipping senton onto Melissa from the ramp to the side of the stage. Ayako won via moonsault through a table on the outside in about 5 minutes. It was good and will probably come off better on TV.
- Bobby Lashley vs. Rhino in a Stretcher match. Rules for this were you had to put your opponent on a stretcher and take him to the back. Not much better than their PPV match in September. Rhino went for a Gore through the stage setup (ala Abyss/Angle at Turning Point last year) but Lashley got out of the way. Lashley won the match in 5:24. He had some problems putting Rhino in the ambulance so he essentially had Rhino on the stretcher and just kind of dumped him into the ambulance for the win.
- AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle (Non title) Not to overhype this, but to me, this was one of the best matches in Impact history. Up there with the likes of Joe/Daniels in 06, AJ & Dutt & Aries/Joe & Daniels & Shelley in 05, and Storm/Harris in 07. It ended in a very competitive 20 minute draw. As far as star ratings go, I would put it in the ***3/4 to ****1/4 margin. They literally busted out everything and then some (no spiral tap spotting though). Unlike how the Orlando crowd can be, they were really into the match and did not bust out a "This is awesome" chant until about 15 to 16 minutes into the match. The last 30 seconds had Angle hold AJ in the Ankle Lock but AJ did not tap as the time limit expired. Sting comes down after the match and AJ ignored him. He got on the mic and said that the fans will never see AJ Styles go to a draw again. As long as he wins, that does not bother me.
- As a crowd pleaser (meaning won't make air) Kip James beat a jobber in a surprisingly OK match considering it is Kip James. The match was announced before AJ/Angle as a "Special attraction" because a lot of the fans in the Impact Zone love Kip.
CM Punk def. Intercontinental Champion John Morrison by disqualification Vladimir Kozlov def. Tommy Dreamer Mark Henry def. Chris Masters to qualify for Team Raw
In the main event of WWE Superstars on Thursday night, the WWE Universe watched a hard-fought battle between two of SmackDowns most dominant ring warriors. Ultimately though, it was a third supercilious Superstar who stole the entire spotlight.

CM Punk def. Intercontinental Champion John Morrison by Disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) While sitting ringside with Todd Grisham during the main event of WWE Superstars, United States Champion The Miz took the time to scout his former tag team partner and opponent at WWE Bragging Rights, Intercontinental Champion John Morrison. It wouldnt be long, however, before the arrogant Superstar would interfere. With Morrison seemingly about to deliver some Starship Pain on CM Punk, The Miz stormed into the ring and intentionally attacked The Straightedge Superstar to disqualify The Guru of Greatness.
The United States Champion may have gained some momentum in his rivalry with Morrison, but what will happen when these former allies, turned foes, square off at WWE Bragging Rights one week from Sunday at Pittsburghs Mellon Arena?
Vladimir Kozlov def. Tommy Dreamer (PHOTOS | WATCH) After coming to the ring accompanied by his associate in the ruthless roundtable, Ezekiel Jackson, Vladimir Kozlov made it clear to Tommy Dreamer that he had only one thing on his mind: Victory. Honing in on The ECW Originals already injured arm, The Moscow Mauler brutally attacked Dreamers left elbow, pinning his opponent for the win. To add insult to injury, Jackson then took to the ring, dispatching Kozlovs already defeated opponent with a thunderous slam. Following the match, Dreamers swollen elbow had to be drained by a medical professional. (PHOTOS)
Mark Henry def. Chris Masters to qualify for Team Raw (PHOTOS | WATCH) It was apparent that Mark Henry desperately wanted to join Team Raw at WWE Bragging Rights in the first-ever 14-Superstar tag team match. The Worlds Strongest Man overcame an injured left knee against Chris Masters to qualify and unite with co-captains DX, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston. Henry utilized his size and strength to bulldoze over his opponent, finishing The Masterpiece off with a bone-crushing body slam, and earning himself a ticket to WWE Bragging Rights in the process. One main event WWE star has boasted to friends about failing for marijuana 14 times. This particular wrestler hasn't faced the same scrutiny from management as some of the mid-carders whose pushes were stopped due to repeated test failures. However, the fine for failing for pot was recently levied from $1,000 to $2,500 and it has him thinking twice.
Like many wrestlers in the company, he is now using a product sold at head shops (retail outlet specializing in drug paraphernalia related to consumption of cannabis and other recreational drugs) which gives off a similar effect as marijuana, but is legally sold and does not show up in drug tests.
Among some locker room circles, both Triple H and Shawn Michaels are two of the least popular wrestlers these days. Even those who appear on Smackdown and have minimal exposure to them feel as though they are abusing their power and standing in the way of WWE elevating new stars.
The overwhelming sentiment among those in the company is that RAW's "no man's land" in the sense there are no full-fledged pushes to be had as a result of the strong influence of Hunter and Michaels, as well as Randy Orton and John Cena. Many feel if even one of these main event performers dislikes you enough to badmouth you to management, you won't be getting a push.
ProWrestling.net is reporting that Kevin Nash has indeed opted to roll his current contract over for another year with TNA. Nash will be remaining with TNA as opposed to leaving the company or returning to WWE when his contract expires.
There were some rumors that Nash would be leaving along with Booker T and Scott Steiner. However, TNA feels that Nash still has some name value when it comes to promoting live events.
Scott Steiner is heavily rumored to be on his way out of TNA following this Sundays Bound for Glory pay-per-view. He is said to be on the bubble as a result of his friendship with Jeff Jarrett and because company president Dixie Carter has never been a big fan of his. There were rumors a few weeks ago indicating he had given notice, but it appears management made the call in this case.
Booker T also looks to be finishing up with TNA once his contract expires. Hes not been happy in recent weeks and refused to put over Matt Morgan several weeks ago. The Bound for Glory PPV on Sunday could be his final date with the company as well.
Bryan Alvarez reports if WWE decide to re-introduce the "War Games" concept for pay-per-view, it will not be a duplicate of the same match WCW had with the dual cages, but that could change.
The idea of bringing back War Games to WWE has been brought up several times over the years but was always shot down. The WWE creative team was recently told to watch old War Games matches to come up with ideas they can use or tweak.

Were sad to report that WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano (Louis Vincent Albano) has died. He was 76 years old. His cause of death is still unknown at this time. Earlier this week, his family sent out a statement that he was under hospice care. They said he did not have cancer and asked for supporters to respect his privacy.
Captain Lou was a one of a kind personality who had a 40+ year career in the wrestling business as a wrestler and manager. The manager of champions guided 15 different tag teams and 4 singles competitors to championship gold. Along with Cyndi Lauper, Albano helped pioneer the Rock n Wrestling movement during the 1980s that helped the WWF become a part of mainstream pop culture.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of the late Captain Lou.
Former WWE Superstar Rob Van Dam commented on rumors of him appearing at the TNA "Bound For Glory" PPV this weekend during an interview on the Between The Ropes radio show last night.
"Well, I certainly don't have any plans of bringing my wrestling boots," the former WWE champion stated. "But Sonya (RVD's wife) has been talking to Sharmell and I plan on seeing Booker T while he is here."
