PREVIEW FOR THURSDAY’S “IMPACT!” ON SPIKE TV
Featuring Team 3D vs. Samoa Joe & Rhino and much more!
    By Bill Banks

Note: Fans in the Florida area – join us live at Universal Studios this Monday night for the “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV tapings! All of your favorite TNA stars will be in attendance, and some lucky fans will get the chance to go backstage to meet the TNA stars! Tickets are free for both guests of Universal and Islands of Adventure theme parks, as well as the public. Doors open at 6pm with a bell time of 6:45 p.m. Free parking is available at the Universal parking garage after 6pm. For more information on seating, call the Universal Orlando Resort "iMPACT!" hotline at (407) - 224 – 6000.

Just minutes after “iMPACT!” went off the air, TNAwrestling.com received from TNA management an early preview for next Thursday’s broadcast on SpikeTV!

WHO GETS THE WORLD TITLE SHOT AT SACRIFICE? WILL CORNETTE ADDRESS THE SITUATION? ARE STING AND ANGLE AT WAR?
Heading into this Thursday night, there are several questions regarding Sting, Kurt Angle and the World Title shot at Sacrifice. The last we saw, Sting had smashed Angle with his bat for costing him his shot at the World Title! This Thursday, will Sting and Angle go to war once again? Who will ultimately get the World Title shot against Christian Cage at Sacrifice? Will TNA management director Jim Cornette address the situation? We’ll find out Thursday night on “iMPACT!” as Cage, Sting, Angle and Cornette will all be in attendance!

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS TEAM 3D VS. SAMOA JOE AND RHINO
Also this Thursday night, World Tag Team Champions Team 3D will continue to take on all comers as they will battle “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe and “The War Machine’ Rhino in a non-title bout! Since winning the tag team gold at Lockdown, Team 3D has been on a non-stop schedule, first battling Christian Cage and Abyss, then Scott Steiner and Tomko this past week. Can Team 3D make it past Joe and Rhino this Thursday night? Will The Latin American Xchange be watching? Tune in and find out!

TNA KNOCKOUT, KNOWNDOWN, DRAGOUT WOMEN’S STREET FIGHT – GAIL KIM VS. JACKIE MOORE
In addition, fans who tune in to “iMPACT!” on Thursday will see a rematch of the acclaimed women’s bout from Lockdown, as Gail Kim and Jackie Moore will collide once more in what is being billed as a “Knockout, Knockdown, Dragout, Women’s Street Fight”. Based on their war at Lockdown, Gail and Jackie will certainly tear down the house again this Thursday night in an attempt to end their feud once and for all!

JAMES MITCHELL TO GIVE AN EUOLOGY FOR ABYSS?!
TNAwrestling.com has also learned that James Mitchell plans to give a eulogy for the career of Abyss, who was bloodied and brutalized two weeks ago on “iMPACT!”. Where has Abyss been since the attack? Was the beating enough to put him out of action for good? Apparently, James Mitchell believes that to be the case, as he will pay his last “respects” to the career of his former protégé this Thursday night on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV!

All this and much more Thursday night on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV as TNA Wrestling heads toward the Sunday, May 13 “Sacrifice” Pay-Per-View event!

    RVD naar TNA ?????
Several sources are confirming that Rob Van Dam has turned down his latest contract offer to remain with World Wrestling Entertainment. As of now, his deal is set to expire over the summer (I believe but can not confirm late July) but until the deal has expired, there's always a chance that the two sides will come to terms. As of right now, I've heard that creative has been instructed to focus on CM Punk and Elijah Burke as the major players for the ECW brand so that if Van Dam does depart, it's not as strong of a blow to the ECW storylines.

Van Dam has been with WWE since July 2001 when he was brought in as part of the ECW end of the ill-fated Alliance contingent during the Invasion storyline. Van Dam has held just about every major WWE championship belt, although he was never pushed as a top performer for any extended period of time despite a large contingent of fan support, especially early in his tenure.

Should he leave the company, Van Dam's true legacy would be that he was the primary motivating factor in convincing Vince McMahon to revive Extreme Championship Wrestling for the 2005 ECW One Night Stand PPV event, which ironically, Van Dam missed due to a knee injury, although he did give the best promo of his career during the show.

When WWE decided to re-launch ECW as a third brand for the company in June 2006, Van Dam captured the WWE championship from John Cena and was then awarded the resurrected ECW World championship. The original plan was for Van Dam to have a long run with the ECW belt while dropping the WWE title, but those plans were tossed aside when he and Sabu were pulled over for speeding and later charged with possession of a controlled substance. Van Dam quickly dropped both belts and was suspended by the company. Upon his return, he remained a top-tier ECW player but the brand was no longer built around him.

Prior to his WWE run, Van Dam worked for the original Extreme Championship Wrestling from January 1996 through the end of the company's existence, although there were times towards the end of ECW that he took extended breaks from wrestling when the company wasn't able to pay him to perform. During his ECW run, he gradually graduated from undercard heel feuding with Sabu to the top babyface attraction of the latter years of the company. Van Dam also worked briefly for WCW under the moniker "Robby V" when Bills Watts was overseeing that company for Turner Broadcasting and toured All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Considered to be an extremely popular performer among die hard fans, Van Dam would be highly prized on the independent scene should he leave the company, particularly since he's had usage of the Rob Van Dam ring name from 1992 on and likely wouldn't be prevented from using it by World Wrestling Entertainment, as the former Dudley Boys, Team 3D have.

OFFICIAL TNA "iMPACT!" RESULTS FOR THURSDAY, APRIL 26
OFFICIAL TNA "iMPACT!" RESULTS FOR THURSDAY, APRIL 26
    By Mike Kerrigan

The first ever meeting between Kurt Angle and Sting open up the broadcast. The two veterans go for their patented submissions early on, but to no avail. The fight eventually leads to the outside of the ring, when out of nowhere, Team Cage come down and attack both Angle and Sting. As Sting is put into the "Steiner Recliner" the rest of Team Cage beat Kurt Angle down with a steel chair. Christian Cage ends the beating with a vicious DDT on the steel chair.

During the commercial break, Kurt was wheeled out on a stretcher. Jeremy Borash catches up with Team Cage to get the comments on what they did. Cage says that it was his mission to take out Kurt Angle tonight and that he should have never tried to hot shot himself to a title shot. Don West then runs into the locker-room to give a message from Jim Cornette. He says that tonight it will be Cage vs. Sting for the NWA Title and if Team Cage tries to interfere, Sting will walk away the champ.

Next up is Sabin's 4-Way Suicidal Stampede; in which 4 teams of two square off, with the winning team getting a chance for the X-Division Title in a Triple Threat Match at Sacrifice. The teams were Alex Shelley and Kaz, Petey Williams and Jerry Lynn, Senshi and Sharkboy, and Black Machismo and Sonjay Dutt. The end of the match included some great X-Division action, seeing a spectacular top rope plancha from Senshi onto 4 opponents outside the ring. In the end, it was Sonjay Dutt and Black Machismo coming away with the victory. Yet Dutt was none too pleased that Machismo got the pinfall. It seems that Dutt is a little frustrated that he is not getting the same exposure as one Jay Lethal.

Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks are waiting in the ring to find out who Eric Young's "friend" is. Eric comes out and tells Roode "All I have is wrestling and you're trying to take that away from me. The only thing more important to me is my word, and that will never be broken." Roode slaps EY around to try and get the answer out of him, but Eric finally has enough and beats down Roode with countless punches. After Ms. Brooks slaps Eric, she is met with a huge powerbomb. Yet she is somehow able to give Showtime a lowblow when he goes to hit Roode again. Roode hits Eric with a chair and cuffs him. As Ms. Brooks holds Eric on his knees, Roode demands to know who the friend is by the count of 3 or Eric will have his brains scrambled. As Roode counts to 3, the all too familiar sirens blare through the arena and Jeff Jarrett comes to the ring, beats Roode down and tosses him out of the ring. Ms. Brooks tries for another lowblow, but Jeff grabs her hand and hits her with a guitar shot heard round the world. Maybe "Uncle Jeff" was a lot more loyal to Eric Young then anyone once thought.

The Tag Team Titles are up for grabs for the second week in a row, when Team 3D square off against Scott Steiner and Tomko. The expierience of Team 3D was a huge advantage in the match as it seemed to be very one sided. Steiner had control at one point, but was mistakenly thrown out of the ring by Hernandez of LAX. Then Homicide tried to hit Brother Ray with a hurricanrana, but landed on Tomko instead. Team 3D seized the opportunity and hit Tomko with the inverted 3D and retained their titles. After the match Steiner and Tomko had some choice words for LAX. The two teams had a quick brawl as Konnan told Tomko and Steiner "You're going to be our problem now."

A Paparazzi Production of "March of the Backlund" is shown where Alex Shelley is seen pestering Bob Backlund during his daily walk. Shelley asks Bob if he remembers his 9 second match with Keven Nash. Shelley follows up by telling Bob that most of the younger guys could probably beat him in 9 seconds. Bob seems like he is about to tell Alex off, but Alex shows him coins and trash on the ground. When Bob goes to pick them up, he finds the X-Division Title. Just then Sabin is seen trying to get the jump on Backlund but falls on his face. A sample of next week's video is then shown, where it looks like Sabin and Backlund are having an amatuer wrestling match on the side of the road.

Before the main event of Christian Cage and Sting can start, it is announced that Kurt Angle's neck has been stabilized, but he may have suffered a concussion. As Cage walked to the ramp, Sting brought the fight to him before the bell could even ring. Sting seemed to have the match won when he hit a "Scorpion Death Drop" on the champion, but Cage was somehow able to kick out. Sting then hit Cage with a superplex, but before he could make the pin, Kurt Angle came to the ring and attacked the referee and Christian Cage. The ref had no choice but to throw out the match, thus costing Sting his chance for the title. Kurt then grabbed Sting's baseball bat and chased down Cage, but it was Sting who snatched the bat away and hit Angle afterwards to end the show.

    Divas in nieuwe clip Timbaland

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Six of the Sexiest Women on Television are the sexiest women to hit Timbaland’s latest music video. Ashley, Torrie, Maryse, Brooke, Layla and Kelly Kelly filmed the “Throw it on Me” video with Timbaland and The Hives at Universal Studios yesterday.

The Divas danced, had a fashion photo shoot and got in the ring for the “Timb City” theme video. What exactly is Timb City? Well, WWE fans, you’ll have to wait for the exclusive world premiere of the “Throw it on Me” video May 21 on Raw.

“The reason I asked the Divas to be in my video was because I didn’t want the typical casting for this. I wanted women who mean something,” Timbaland told WWE.com “The Divas have a fan base of their own. They’re all stars. Each in their own way, they all mean something.”

Each of the six Divas showcases their unique personalities in the video, through their sexy dance moves and one-of-a-kind outfits created by designer Jared Gold.

“We love it. We play. We taunt. This is our moment. We get the opportunity to express ourselves,” Layla said. “To be a part of this, to be a part of Timbaland’s video is really amazing.”

Layla’s Extreme Expose partner, Brooke, said she’s excited to appear in the music video, because she’s never done anything like this before.

“We’re really lucky to get to work with such an amazing person like Timbaland. He’s a top producer,” Brooke said. “Plus we get to work with The Hives. This is a fun experience.”

Maryse said the WWE Divas are a perfect fit for the “Throw it on Me” video.

“I think the WWE Divas are very strong women, with strong personalities, so we fit the song,” Maryse said. “We need music with a lot of energy. It makes us want to move, want to dance and have fun.”

Pelle Almqvist, lead singer of The Hives, is a WWE fan, so he was thrilled to work with the WWE Divas on his band’s collaboration with Timbaland.

“I think it’s a good thing the WWE Divas are in the video,” said Almqvist. “They’re nice and they’re fun. They’re great at wrestling, and they look good in the video.”

In addition to WWE.com, E! and TV Guide covered the shoot at the Universal Studios soundstage. Overall, WWE is pleased with the way the video is turning out.

“Timbaland is a long time fan of WWE. He came to Raw in Dayton, Ohio, and saw how beautiful and talented our current Divas are, and thought it would be great to use them for his video,” said Kristin Prouty, WWE’s vice president of Entertainment Relations. “Timbaland is now thrilled that he picked the Divas for his video. The video is so hot, sexy and creative. Everyone is betting money on it winning a video music award.”

NEWS FROM THURSDAY’S “IMPACT!” ON SPIKE TV
    By Bill Banks

Below are several major news items from Thursday’s “iMPACT!” broadcast on SpikeTV, including a huge challenge between Sting and Kurt Angle!

JEFF JARRETT SPEAKS OUT ON HIS RETURN
On Thursday’s broadcast, Mike Tenay interviewed Jeff Jarrett regarding his return to TNA Wrestling. The former World Champion spoke out about his time away from the spotlight, including coming to realization that it was time for him to give back to the sport. Jarrett talked about three steps to accomplish that – the first was last Thursday when he returned to join Team Angle. The second step was at Lockdown when he helped Sting. According to Jarrett, Step 3 will surprise a lot of people and will be something he needs to “make right”. What is the third step in Jarrett’s return? Tune in Thursday night to find out!

STING CHALLENGES KURT ANGLE FOR THIS THURSDAY!
During Jarrett’s interview, Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle hit the ring and certainly wasn’t pleased with what he heard. According to Angle, he was the one who brought Jarrett back to TNA and he felt he was the one who deserved the shot at the gold, not Sting. In turn, Sting came out and got in Angle’s face regarding the comments, claiming if it wasn’t for men like he and Jarrett paving the way in the sport, Angle would be a “Gold Medal Gym Teacher”. Sting said there was only one way to settle this – and that was to battle for the first time ever this Thursday night on SpikeTV to determine who gets the World Title shot at May’s Sacrifice!

CHRISTIAN CAGE’S ARMY ANNIHILATES “THE MONSTER” ABYSS
Also on Thursday night, Christian Cage and Abyss challenged Team 3D for the World Tag Team Title, which Brother Ray and Devon won on Sunday night at Lockdown against The LAX. It was ultimately Team 3D earning the win and retaining their gold when they beat Abyss, causing Christian Cage to get in the monster’s face. However, Abyss fired back by assaulting Cage and even his manager James Mitchell! During the melee, the rest of Christian Cage’s army hit the ring and took turns bloodying and brutalizing Abyss with steel chairs and a barbed-wire baseball bat! Abyss was left a bloody mess in the middle of the ring as “iMPACT!” went off the air! What will be the fallout from this horrible attack? Tune in Thursday night on “iMPACT!” for an update on Abyss.

WILL ERIC YOUNG REVEAL HIS “FRIEND” THIS THURSDAY NIGHT?
In addition, Robert Roode went ballistic on Eric Young on Thursday night, demanding to know who Eric’s secret “friend” really is. According to Young, it wasn’t Petey Williams, who Roode beat at Lockdown. As a result, Roode told Young that he has until Thursday’s “iMPACT!’ to reveal the identity of his “friend” or else he will personally fire the star from TNA Wrestling! Will Young reveal the person’s identity? Tune in and find out!

    - Also on "iMPACT!", it was announced that "Cowboy" James Storm will face "Wildcat" Chris Harris in a "Texas Death Match" at the Sacrifice Pay-Per-View event!

    Ashley to have surgery

SmackDown Diva Ashley will be out of in-ring action after the vicious attack by Jillian on SmackDown. Ashley has loosened a screw in her ankle that will need to be surgically repaired. The screw will be reinserted into a plate in her ankle – a plate inserted last year after Ashley fractured her tibia and fibula while in action. There is no timetable for her in-ring return.

WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick were in action without their friend at ringside, and the duo spoke out on Ashley’s injury. “It was tough going out there tonight without Ashley,” said Brian Kendrick. “But we wish her the best.”

Paul London added, “Ashley wanted us to go out and compete and hold on to the titles, and we did.”
