The Miz & Jack Swagger def. United States Champion Kofi Kingston & Primo Dolph Ziggler def. Slam Master J Nikki Bella (w/ Brie Bella) def. Katie Lea Burchill Sheamus def. Yoshi Tatsu Kane def. Jimmy Wang Yang
With WWE Breaking Point mere days away, some of WWEs most talented competitors battled it out on WWE Superstars on WGN America. From a raw display of brutality from Kane to a thrilling tag team main event, tonights episode had all the thrills the WWE Universe has come to expect from Thursday night.

The Miz & Jack Swagger def. United States Champion Kofi Kingston & Primo (PHOTOS | WATCH) For weeks, The Miz and Jack Swagger have both vowed to take down United States Champion Kofi Kingston, but so far neither man has been able to do it. On WWE Superstars, two of Raws biggest loudmouths got another opportunity to scrap with Kingston along with former Unified Tag Team Champion Primo. With the backing of the All-American American, Miz was able to pin The Jamaican Superstar, picking up the win for his team. This victory didnt put championship gold around the self-proclaimed chick magnets waist, but it may very well have brought The Miz one step closer to the United States Title Match he believes he deserves.
Dolph Ziggler def. Slam Master J (PHOTOS | WATCH) Clad in leather and leopard print, the braggadocios Dolph Ziggler brought his cocky attitude and his impressive skills to WWE Superstars on Thursday night. While the Hollywood, Fla., native has had his sights set on the Intercontinental Championship for months, he stayed focused on his opponent, Slam Master J, in the ring tonight. Controlling the action with his aggressive offense, Ziggler kept Cryme Tymes crony down and grabbed himself another victory. In his Palace of Wisdom, Intercontinental Champion John Morrison was definitely taking notes on this contest.
Nikki Bella (w/ Brie Bella) def. Katie Lea Burchill (PHOTOS | WATCH) Thanks to her twin sister Brie, Nikki Bella managed to defeat Katie Lea Burchill without even pinning her. In the closing moments of her match with ECWs Scarlet Witch, the beautiful Bella realized she needed some assistance and rolled to the outside of the ring. Her identical twin, Brie, then took over for her, scaling the top rope and diving onto Katie Lea for the pin. The official never saw the switch and Katie Lea never knew what hit her.
Sheamus def. Yoshi Tatsu (PHOTOS | WATCH) Since coming to ECW as a part of Teddy Longs New Talent Initiative, the massive Irishman known as Sheamus has proven himself to be one of the most impressive young Superstars in WWE. The Dublin destroyer further added to his growing reputation by disposing of another formidable young talent, Yoshi Tatsu, on WWE Superstars. While the Japanese Superstar used his exciting offense to try and fell the giant, the pale titan was simply too much for Tatsu to handle. In the end, the Irish Curse sealed Tatsus fate and earned Sheamus another big win.
Kane def. Jimmy Wang Yang (PHOTOS | WATCH) Less than three days before he faces The Great Khali in a Singapore Cane Match at WWE Breaking Point, the diabolical Kane stepped into the ring with Jimmy Wang Yang and showed the WWE Universe just how intent he is on causing destruction. After decimating the Asian redneck and pinning him in the center of the ring, The Big Red Monster grabbed a Singapore cane and began to ruthlessly batter his opponent. By the time Kane stopped his assault, Yangs back was a grizzly map of purple welts and bruises and the SmackDown Superstar was barely conscious. Will The Great Khali suffer the same brutality on Sunday?
It appears that WWE tried to convince Jeff Hardy to stay with the company until the very last minute. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE offered Hardy a big money deal that would allow him to avoid working house shows and only appear attelevision tapings and PPV events. This deal is something that even guys like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker don't have since they both work the occasional house show.
WWE also want to sign Hardy to a merchandise contract that would permit WWE to continue to create additional merchandise and cash in on his popularity during his hiatus.
Hardy has been receiving many large money offers to wrestle on the independent circuit, but has given no indication he'll wrestle outside a WWE ring. Right now, Hardy is concentrating on trying to get his reality show off the ground.
One TNA source said Lauren "Angel" Willlams' (professionally known as "Angelina Love") contract was about to expire and there was internal fear because she had not signed a new deal that she would attempt to negotiate with her former employer, WWE. With that being said, WWE sources believe she will be backstage at this Monday's RAW taping when it emanates in her native Toronto. However, she won't be there looking for work, but rather, just to be there.
Regarding Williams' visa situation, there doesn't appear to be anything new on that front, although the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer corroborated our story over the weekend saying TNA hastily terminated contract once they realized the amount of trouble they could possibly face due to employing an llegal immigrant for two years without proper working papers. The Observer also noted that TNA never applied for a working visa for Williams.
Regarding Williams being subject to possible deportation, banned from entering the United States for ten years, and having to pay back any money she garnered by working as an illegal immigrant in the United States, it is very much a possibility if the government "wants to stick it to her," but it is unlikely to occur.
The new backstage interviewer that debuted last night on ECW under the name Savannah was developmental Diva Angela Fong. Fong has been working under a developmental contract since early 2008 and was given a tryout as a ring announcer at recent WWE house shows.
Fong wrote about how excited she was to debut on WWE television on her Twitter page. She wrote, I am sssoo happy right now!!! So thankful for this opportunity! Watch me take it and RUN with it! :) oh, and that's "Savannah" to you....;)
- As reported earlier, former WWE wrestler Kevin Thorn, under the name "Seven," worked a dark match prior to an Impact taping last week. It would appear that employment is unlikely for the former ECW Superstar as the feeling is he had a good look, but wasn't impressive in his tryout match.

Ken Anderson's non-compete clause with World Wrestling Entertainment expired today, thus meaning he is free to negotiate with any wrestling company.
"Something about midnight tonight...can't quite put my finger on it." Anderson wrote yesterday on his Twitter account.
Likewise, Eddie Fatu's (professionally known as "Umaga" in WWE) non-compete clause with WWE expired this past week as well. Fatu was released from his WWE contract on June 8, 2009 after violating the company's drug testing policy a second time and his subsequent refusal to enter a rehabilitation center.
Former WWE developmental wrestlers Dakota Darsow, Jon Cutler, Lupe Viscara, Kafu and Matt Walsh are also to free negotiate with any wrestling organization as all five up-and-comers were released from their respective contracts during the first week of June.
The Hurricane def. Paul Burchill Shelton Benjamin & Sheamus def. Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu Zack Ryder def. local competitor Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson (w/ William Regal) def. ECW Champion Christian & Tommy Dreamer
ROCKFORD, Ill. Less than five days before he defends his title against William Regal at WWE Breaking Point, ECW Champion Christian teamed with Tommy Dreamer in a losing effort against Regals massive minions, Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson, in the main event of ECW on Syfy. How will this brutal loss affect Captain Charisma going into his big title defense on Sunday?
Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson (w/ William Regal) def. ECW Champion Christian & Tommy Dreamer (PHOTOS | WATCH) Earlier in the evening, ECW Champion Christian & Tommy Dreamer spoke with the newest member of the ECW broadcast team, Savannah, and let her know that they were going to destroy Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson in tonights main event. (WATCH)
Unfortunately, things did not go as planned for Captain Charisma and the ECW Original. While both Superstars attacked their massive opponents with vigor, they were never truly able to gain an upper hand. In the end, Regal tripped up Dreamer, allowing Jackson to execute his modified uranage slam for the win. Of course, Regal and his ruthless roundtable didnt stop there. The British Brawler applied a vicious Regal Stretch to the fallen Dreamer and then brutally kicked a defenseless Christian. The last thing the WWE Universe saw as the show faded to black was the bruised and battered ECW Champion sprawled on the arena floor.
Zack Ryder def. local competitor (PHOTOS) If youve never seen Zack Ryder in action, you might assume the brash and cocky Superstar was more interested in working on his tan than winning matches. Yet, time and time again the Long Island native has proven that hes all business once the bell rings. Local competitor Rory Fargo was the latest to learn this lesson when he stepped in the ring with the arrogant Superstar. Zack Ryder destroyed his outmatched opponent so quickly and decisively he barely mussed his spiky hair.
Shelton Benjamin & Sheamus def. Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu (PHOTOS | WATCH) The unique pairings of some ECWs most talented Superstars made for fast-and-furious tag action on Tuesday night. While the bizarre Goldust and the explosive Yoshi Tatsu worked well together, the duo was bested when Shelton Benjamin tagged himself in and pinned Goldust. Feeling that his partner stole the pin from him, Sheamus confronted Benjamin, resulting in a massive brawl between the two Superstars. It took nearly every official in the WWE locker room to pull these two bulls apart. What can we expect from Sheamus and Shelton on the next edition of ECW on Syfy?
The Hurricane def. Paul Burchill (w/ Katie Lea Burchill) (PHOTOS | WATCH) For weeks, the ruthless Paul Burchill has been infatuated with proving that Gregory Helms and The Hurricane are the same man. The Rippers obsession with the emerald knights identity may have taken his focus away from tonights match as he was unable to stop the superheros innovative offense. In the closing moments of the bout, Burchills sadistic sister, Katie Lea, attempted to help her brother, but her interference backfired. The Hurricane was able to nail his Eye of the Hurricane maneuver to pick up a victory and keep his identity safe for another night.
WWE star unhappy about being left off Summerslam Posted by Chris Kaufman on 09/08/2009 at 03:02 PM
Thanks to the Sun UK for the following:
The Hart Dynasty have blasted WWE boss Vince McMahon following their SummerSlam snub. David Hart Smith, 23, Tyson Kidd and 27-year-old valet Natalya claim they are the No1 tag team in the wrestling promotion and should have appeared at the showpiece event. Speaking exclusively to SunSport, Hart Smith said: "I am little disappointed that we weren't on the SummerSlam card this year. "I feel bar none, not only technically, but if you take a look at the all-round skills that we have, we are probably the strongest tag team contenders in the whole of WWE."
And the trio certainly have the right pedigree to make such a bold statement. Smith is the son of legendary grappler The British Bulldog, while Natalya is the daughter of Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart. The blonde beauty dates Kidd, 29, away from the squared circle and he too became an extended member of the famous wrestling family after training in Stu Hart's infamous 'Dungeon' in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. But despite admitting being desperate for a place in the WWE spotlight, Natalya is quick to point out that her uncle Bret 'The Hitman' Hart was a 35-year-old veteran before he captured his first WWE heavyweight crown.
She said: "I think sometimes if you get something too quickly it's not a lot of fun. "For me it's about proving myself and proving my worth when I get that opportunity. "I do feel like my time will come and when it does I will represent my family my father, my uncle Bret, my uncles that have passed on and prove that I am one of the best female wrestlers in the history of sports entertainment." Tyson agreed, adding: "A lot of WWE Divas have risen up pretty fast in the past but I don't see many of them around anymore. "Natalya hasn't had a chance to show everyone what she's made of yet, or myself and David. "It's just a slow, slow progression whereas I would rather have had a meteoric rise."
Part of that slow progression is a training regime that Natalya says she would not wish on her worst enemy.
Developmental talent Angela Fong, 24, made her much anticipated WWE debut on tonight's ECW telecast from Rockford, Illinois. The former BC Lions Felions Dance Team cheerleader was introduced under the name "Savannah." It would appear that she's the new backstage announcer for ECW as she conducted an interview with Tommy Dreamer and Christian during tonight's show. Fong actually made her first appearance in WWE during the 2007 Diva Search and though she didn't make the cut, the company would sign her to a developmental contract in February 2008. She has been working as both as wrestler and ring announcer in Florida Championship Wrestling ever since.
Sports Tonight Australia ran a feature on the TNA open tryouts in Sydney. Jeremy Borash was nice enough to upload the feature on his YouTube account. You can view the feature in the video embedded below:
There aren't a lot of details on this yet, but apparently there was a fight backstage at the Smackdown/ECW live event in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on Saturday night between The Great Khali and Big Show.
The main event that night saw Matt Hardy, The Undertaker and Khali defeat Big Show, Chris Jericho and CM Punk. At the end, Show and Khali brawled outside of the ring together. When they got backstage, there was apparently an argument. Show called him out on it and they started grappling around.
One source said, Show slipped on someones bag and it was over.
Another report said that after they ended up on the ground, Khali mounted Show and was hitting him with slaps before The Undertaker pulled them apart. Show and Khali were kept away from each other in the ring for the rest of the tour.
The following is a brief recap of the events that transpired after the cameras went dark for WWE RAW tonight:
There was no dark match main event. John Cena, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels took a different side of the crowd for a "loudest cheer" contest. They high-fived fans at ringside and crotch chopped with little kids from the crowd at the top of the stage.
Montel Vontavious Porter def. Chris Jericho Evan Bourne def. Chavo Guerrero John Cena def. Cody Rhodes by disqualification Mark Henry def. Big Show in a Body Slam Challenge D-Generation X def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters
CHICAGO If youve read Bob Barkers autobiography Priceless Memories, you know the former Price Is Right host has seen many strange things during his 50 years in show business. Yet, even the wildest Showcase Showdown moment couldnt prepare Barker for his stint as Raws celebrity guest host. From a Body Slam Challenge between two of WWEs largest Superstars to a battle between DX and the unique combination of Randy Orton & Chris Masters, the final Raw before Sundays WWE Breaking Point was one to remember.
D-Generation X def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters (PHOTOS | WATCH | MORE DX) Despite having never teamed before, The Vipers viciousness and Masterss brute strength made a great combination. Yet, in the end, HBK forced The Masterpiece to tap out to give DX the victory. The night didnt end there, however. The Legacy then rushed to the ring and brawled with DX all the way to the locker room area before retreating from the arena in a stolen car.
In the ring, Randy Orton grabbed the microphone and told the WWE Universe that he will leave WWE Breaking Point with his championship. This arrogant announcement caused John Cena to rush to the ring to confront Orton. The two men quickly traded blows before Orton laid the 12 Rounds star out with a brutal DDT. The Viper then showed how vicious he can be by delivering an RKO to Cena onto a steel chair. As Raw came to a close, Orton stood over Cenas fallen body and vowed to make him quit on Sunday. (WATCH)
Bob Barker battled Chavo Guerrero in the locker room (WATCH) In a scene reminiscent of the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore, Bob Barker proved he was one tough senior citizen when he was confronted by Chavo Guerrero in the locker room. The self-proclaimed Mexican Warrior demanded that Barker give him the car hed failed to win earlier in the evening. When Guerrero got in Barkers face, the Priceless Memories author, who studied karate under Chuck Norris, delivered a brutal chop to the stunned Superstar. Bob then reminded the WWE Universe to spay and neuter their pets, ending an amazing night as Raws special guest host.
Trish Stratus announced as next Mondays Raw guest host The WWE Universe rejoiced when it was announced that seven-time Womens Champion Trish Stratus would be the guest host for next Mondays Raw. The beautiful Diva, who retired in 2006, will bring her gorgeous smile and, if necessary, her devastating Stratusfaction bulldog to the Air Canada Center in her hometown of Toronto next Monday night.
Mark Henry def. Big Show in a Body Slam Challenge (PHOTOS | WATCH) The nights fun and games continued with Bob Barker giving Santino Marella an opportunity to win his very own hot tub. All the Italian Superstar had to do was defeat the 485-pound Big Show in a Body Slam Challenge and hed be soaking in style. But, despite a heroic effort, the unibrowed warrior simply couldnt heave the giant. Instead, Show hoisted Marella with ease and dropped him like a Plinko chip to win the match. (WATCH)
The Unified Tag Team Champion laughed at the defeated Marella, but his smile soon turned to a grimace when Barker informed him that he had another opponent tonight The Worlds Strongest Man, Mark Henry. The tough Texan marched to the ring with his eyes locked on Show and the two bulls immediately charged each other. While Big Show is one of the few men on the planet who can stand toe to toe with Henry, he was on the losing end of their confrontation tonight. After Henry slammed Show, MVP came down to the ring to celebrate. The two partners were clearly feeling confident going into Sundays Unified Tag Team Championship Match at WWE Breaking Point.
Batista returns to Raw next Monday (WATCH) After suffering an injury at the hands of WWE Champion Randy Orton in June, Batista will make his return on next Monday's Raw. On this can't-miss night, The Animal will make a major, potentially career-altering announcement.
John Cena def. Cody Rhodes by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) Before locking up with John Cena, Cody Rhodes addressed Randy Ortons RKO on his father, Dusty Rhodes, from last Mondays Raw. While the WWE Universe wondered if this shocking move would cause Rhodes to leave The Legacy, the second-generation Superstar made it clear that he would be sticking with Orton and Ted DiBiase. He then vowed to make Cena tap out in tonights contest.
Things did not go the way Rhodes had planned, however. With his WWE Championship "I Quit" Match against Orton only six days away, Cena looked more motivated than ever. The 12 Rounds star tossed Rhodes around the ring before locking in his brutal STF submission hold. Rhodes reached his own breaking point and was ready to submit when The Viper interfered, causing a disqualification. Cena was clearly enraged by Ortons audacity and delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Cody Rhodes, sending a clear message to the WWE Champion.
Evan Bourne def. Chavo Guerrero (PHOTOS | WATCH) Before his match with the explosive Evan Bourne, Chavo Guerrero was informed by Bob Barker that he would win a new Corvette if he could defeat the high flyer. The idea of driving out of the Allstate Arena in a cherry red sports car clearly inspired Guerrero and he attacked Air Bourne with vigor from the opening bell.
After months of repeatedly losing to Hornswoggle, it seemed as if the Mexican Warrior would finally come up with a winning bid tonight. But just when it seemed as though Chavo might grab a victory, the little Irishman appeared from under the ring. Hornswoggle distracted Guerrero, helping Bourne get the pin and dooming Chavo to another year of driving the same old low rider.
DX spun The Price is Raw wheel In the locker room area, Bob Barker gave DX an opportunity to spin the wheel in order to determine their opponents for tonight. As luck would have it, the unique combination of WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters came up, giving Triple H & Shawn Michaels reason to smile. The duo was more than happy about an opportunity to inflict some punishment on The Legacy leader before they face Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase in a Submissions Count Anywhere Match at WWE Breaking Point on Sunday.
Montel Vontavious Porter def. Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH) When Chris Jericho accidentally came up with the winning bid on Contestants Row, he was given the opportunity to score a trip to Hawaii if he could defeat MVP. The two men, who will meet in the Unified Tag Team Championship Match in six days at WWE Breaking Point, locked horns last Monday with Jericho coming out on top.
Tonight, however, The Ballin Superstar was right on the money, outmaneuvering the cocky Jericho and picking up a big victory. After the match, Jericho kicked and screamed. Not only had he lost the match, but hed blown his opportunity to work on his tan in Honolulu.
Bob Barker kicked off The Price is Raw (PHOTOS | WATCH) When the explosive bombast of pyro that usually opens Raw was replaced by the familiar tune of The Price Is Right theme song, the WWE Universe knew this was going to be a unique Monday night. Tonights guest host, game show legend Bob Barker, confirmed this when he revealed that WWE Superstars and Divas would be competing for incredible prizes all night long. The 19-time Emmy Winner then welcomed Jillian Hall, Santino Marella, Irwin R. Schyster and Chris Jericho to Contestants Row to bid on The Best of SmackDown 10th Anniversary DVD. The winning bidder would then be given an opportunity to compete for an even bigger prize later in the evening.
Nigel McGuinness spoke with The UKs Sun about his status with WWE:
I am not 100 percent on board yet. I still have to cross some Is and dot some Ts but its looking positive. Its been a long time coming for sure. Ten years since I first took a bump and about eighteen since that fateful day I sat in Wembley Stadium [at SummerSlam 1992] and said I was one day going be a pro-wrestler. Still, like I said, I dont want to tempt fate until its all signed sealed and delivered.
Matt Hardy posted the following on Twitter regarding the ending to his match with CM Punk on Fridays Smackdown:
By the way, for any of you wondering, I won SDs Main Event against World Champion CM Punk by DQ. And you ask, why was there no bell? Apparently, Punk threw the bell ringing tool away when he got the chair so they couldnt ring the bell-but Punk did get officially DQed..
As reported earlier, rumors are swirling saying Candice Michelle could be headed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
In an update on the situation, the former WWE Women's Champion may be introduced as the "winner" of Kevin Nash's "Big Sexy World Tour," which has him embarking across the United States in search of the perfect woman to accompany him to the ring at the Final Resolution pay-per-view on December 20, 2009.
