Dave Scherer is reporting that Vince McMahon was very upset with how Chris Jericho and The Big Show versus Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, the opening Night of Champions match, played out. The WWE Chairman was reportedly irate as he threw a fit backstage, emphasizing his opinion that the match failed in its job of getting the crowd hot for the rest of the show. McMahon was seen throwing down his headsets at the end of the match.
As reported over the weekend, TNA Knockout Traci Brooks will be featured in an upcoming issue of Playboy magazine. Brooks recently shot a pictorial for November issue, which hits newsstands on October 5.
Brooks recently spoke to the The Sun about her decision to be the first TNA Knockout pose for the popular men's magazine. "Yes, it's true! I will be the first TNA Knockout ever to grace the cover and pages of Playboy. Shooting with Playboy was truly an amazing experience for me. I can't wait for all my fans to see it."
With WWE's recent shift to family-friendly TV-PG programming, it severed its relationship with Playboy. Much like WWE used to cross-promote their Divas appearing in Playboy with WrestleMania, Traci Brooks' Playboy release will coincide with TNA's biggest show of the year, Bound for Glory. She told The Sun, "I will be doing a big media tour in October to promote it plus several autograph signings."
- Katie sent the following: After WWE Night of Champions went off the air, Jeff Hardy celebrated his big win in the ring. CM Punk came back in the ring and stuck his hand out for Jeff. Jeff walked out as the crowd chanted "just say no" but he came back in and shook Punk's hand briefly. Hardy walked around and greeted fans and put a fan in the ring with him that was pointed out by Lilian Garcia.
- JTG was the only WWE worker on my Twitter list that was Tweeting during tonight's pay-per-view. Apparently WWE officials are really cracking down on cell phone usage backstage during shows, so maybe it wasn't the best idea from JTG.
- Speaking of Twitter, Jeff Hardy became a Trending Topic after the show. To my knowledge, this was the first time a WWE-related topic was at the top on Twitter.
- Kenny Williams sent this in: I ordered the Night of Champions PPV and for two hours, my screen was black. I called my cable company and was told that the entire greater Cincinnati area, mostly with Time Warner Cable service, would not be able to see the event even though people had already ordered it.
- WWE.com was having issues during the PPV broadcast, and several people reported that they could not watch the opening match of the PPV. The show came back on during CM Punk's promo, and worked the rest of the night.
- In the Night of Champions dark match, Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty after Shad nailed reverse stroke on Tyson Kidd.
- There was a sellout crowd of 17,774 at Night Of Champions in Philadelphia, PA.

TNA Knockout SoCal Val was telling people at the Comic-Con in San Diego yesterday that TNA had signed a deal with Playboy magazine. The rumor had been going around for TNA recently and now it looks to be confirmed.
WWE recently stopped their deal with Playboy when the decision was made to go in a PG-rated direction.
On a related note, Jeremy Borash teased on his Twitter that a TNA Knockout had recently posed for Playboy. Sources say that the Knockout who just wrapped a shoot is none other than new Main Event Mafia member Traci Brooks.
Jeff Hardy def. Unified Tag Team Champ Chris Jericho The Great Khali def. Mike Knox Dolph Ziggler def. Finlay Eve def. Natalya R-Truth def. Charlie Haas Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio def. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk (Disqualification; Non-Title)
RICHMOND, Va. With Night of Champions just two nights away, SmackDowns gladiators went to war within the Richmond Coliseum.
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio def. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk (Disqualification; Non-Title) (PHOTOS | VIDEO) In the nights main event, it was a champion vs. champion war that ended in mayhem. After Mysterio thwarted the Go to Sleep from Punk, he hit the 619 on the heavyweight champion and went for the pinfall. But as the ref pounded out the three-count, Dolph Ziggler stormed into the ring at the last moment and attacked Mysterio. Zigglers interference resulted in an immediate disqualification for CM Punk.
But the action was far from over.
Mysterio battled back and had Ziggler set up for the 619, but The Straightedge Superstar stopped Mysterio in his tracks. Next, Ziggler launched a vicious assault on Mysterio. Then, before things could go from bad to even worse for Mysterio, Jeff Hardy came to Mysterios aid, driving Ziggler out of the ring. But it was Punk who got the final word in when he rushed in and dropped Hardy with the Go to Sleep.
What will happen on Sunday when all four Superstars will be in action again?

Jeff Hardy def. Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | VIDEO) In the first bout of the night, Jeff Hardy went head-to-head with Chris Jericho. With both poised to compete at Night of Champions, the encounter was the perfect chance to gain momentum for Sunday. Hardys risk-taking tactics paid off as the free-spirited daredevil defeated Jericho with a Swanton Bomb. With the loss and no announcement of who his new tag team partner will be, will Jericho be ready for Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes? (Match preview)
The Great Khali def. Mike Knox (PHOTOS) It was a clash of the titans as powerhouse Mike Knox went head-to-head with The Great Khali. Toward the end of the bout, Kane came to the entrance ramp to watch the battle. Knox held his own, but it was a Punjabi Plunge from Khali that put Knox away. After the match, Khali motioned for Kane to come to the ring and get it on. Kane approached the ring and went as far as putting one giant leg over the rope. However, shockingly, The Big Red Monster backed out of the ring and opted not to take on The Punjabi Giant.
Dolph Ziggler def. Finlay (PHOTOS | VIDEO) With the biggest match of his career on the horizon this Sunday against Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio, Ziggler took on the veteran Finlay. After brawling with the Fighting Irishman outside the ring and driving him hard to the arena floor, the young Superstar was able to get back in the ring, avoid the refs 10-count, and pick up the win.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk challenged the WWE Universe to just say no (PHOTOS | VIDEO) As he prepares to defend his title at Night of Champions, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk offered some straightedge advice for the WWE Universe. But, his talk was interrupted by No.1 contender Jeff Hardy, who said People make mistakes, and those people can change. On Sunday, the time for talking will be over when the two go toe-to-toe for Punks title. (Match preview)
Eve def. Natalya (PHOTOS) With Cryme Tyme in her corner, Eve took on Natalya. In Nataylas corner were David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd. Last week, The Hart Dynasty beat Cryme Tyme & Eve. However on this night, it was a Moonsault off the top rope from Eve that put away Natalya for the win.

R-Truth def. Charlie Haas (PHOTOS) Last week, R-Truth fell to the powerful Kane. However, on this occasion, the electric R-Truth put away Haas with a vicious scissors kick.
Taz comes out to the ring to kick off iMPACT! With a microphone in hand. He says years ago, he used to wrestle for a company called ECW and during that time he sustained career threatening injuries and prevented him from what he loved to do best and that's perform for the fans. He called 100's of matches for WWE and some of Wrestlemania's greatest matches as a color commentator. He said he knew there was more he could do and he saw TNA..he saw Samoa Joe...he said they had a lot of similarities but Joe showed remorse..where he was unable to do that. He had a talk with Joe..he told him its not about doing what makes people happy..its about what wins titles and makes money. He became the teacher, Joe became the student. He says he & Joe are indebted to Kurt Angle and the prestigious MEM.
Tonight, he says, Joe will add more gold..and that's the TNA X Division title..and he's got a message for Homicide..."beat Joe if you can, survive if he lets you." Samoa Joe's music hits and he comes out to the ring for his match.
*X Division Title Match - Homicide defeated Samoa Joe via DQ. Joe hit the ref, locked in the Tazmission on Homicide and postmatch, continued to beat down on Homicide as ordered by Taz. Mexican music hit & a new video for Hernandez played as he ran down to the ring to aid his LAX partner. Joe stood in the corner with his arms crossed as Hernandez made his way into the ring. He's lost a noticeable amount of weight & looks great. Taz & Joe walked off as Hernandez checked on Homicide.
The Main Event Mafia come out to the ring. Kurt Angle addresses what went down at Victory Road. He wants to put everyone in the back at ease and no one is getting fired. He is a compassionate guy. He says TNA needs the MEM. And tonight for the fans, he has a present for them all. Nash, Booker & Steiner are all going to put their titles on the line for their entertainment. Jarrett is home, Sting is 1000's of miles away licking his wounds, so only there is Mick Foley to attend to.
Foley comes out to the ring he said that Kurt made him tap out after he said it would never happen. He was ready to go home until he heard Angle was messing with the front office and saying that there would be no TNA without MEM. He admits they all dropped the ball last night and maybe he ran out of gas last night...and that with Kurt as a 13 time Champ, knows what its like on 12 occasions how to have a bad day. Angle says Foley reminds him of an old dog and a dog needs a master...says he could be his master..gives him the name Old Tapper. He says if it wasn't for him & Joe outsmarting him, Foley would still be TNA Champion. Angle says he's the man and could kick Foley's ass right now, but won't do that cause he wants one last thing from him. He pulls out a set of keys, they are the keys to Mick Foley's office. He says they are gonna hang them up high on a pole for a match tonight.
*TNA Legends Title Match - Kevin Nash w/Jenna Morasca defeated Amazing Red.
10 Man Tag Match: Doug Williams, Brutus Magnus, Rob Terry, Kiyoshi & Sheik Abdul Bashir defeated Beer Money, Daniels, AJ Styles & Eric Young when Magnus pinned Styles. Styles went for the Styles Clash while everyone was brawling on the outside, Young tapped Styles on the shoulder & gave him a piledriver allowing Magnus to get the pin. He then posed with the Invasion in the ring.

*TNA Knockouts Battle Royal - The Winner receives $50,000 & a spot in the Main Event Mafia Referee: Traci Brooks Participants: ODB, Alyssa Flash, SoJo Bolt, Daffney, Taylor Wilde, Sarita, Awesome Kong, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, Angelina Love and Tara..it came down to Kong & Tara ..they were both close to eliminating one another, when Traci Brooks flipped them over the rope to win and began to celebrate. Nash introduced her as the winner and she jumped into his arms.
Best of 3 series: winner of series goes into the main event of Hard Justice. AJ Styles defeated Matt Morgan.
There have been graphics for TNA 200, so I'm guessing its iMPACT's 200th episode
Office Keys On A Pole Match: Mick Foley vs. Kurt Angle
At one point, Angle had the keychain & fell with it, leaving the hook up on the pole, Earl Hebner had to reattach the keys. Foley used the Mandible Claw and knocked Angle out, he went for the keys, but the MEM came down and attacked Foley. They held Foley while Angle belittled him on the microphone. Bobby Lashley's music hit and he came out via the heel tunnel and made his way to the ring. He came in and embraced Angle with a smile on his face. He looked to be aligned with the Mafia but then instead of attacking Foley, he turned around and punched Angle..he went after the Mafia and they made their way out of the ring and up the ramp. Lashley then helped up Foley and posed for the fans as the Mafia looked on with disgust.
Though some are not pleased with Jeff Hardys decision to embark on a hiatus while the Smackdown roster is short on main event talent, his recent performances have earned him praise in the WWE locker room. WWE has been particularly impressed with Hardys work ethic on the road, noting he has been doing a great job of putting CM Punk over.
Hardys exit is still described as imminent, which is why WWE is hard at work getting talent like John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler over, although some close to Hardy believe he will work Summerslam.
Recent reports have suggested that former WWE Superstar John Bradshaw Layfield is in contact with TNA regarding a possible role with the company. However, according to his Twitter, there in fact have been no talks.
"No talks of tna and no regrets on my career- internet rumours are completely bogus. I am happy playing golf and being retired"
Former WWE star teases going to TNA Posted by Randy Gordon on 07/24/2009 at 01:26 PM

Christian def. William Regal Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble John Morrison def. Kane by disqualification
Thursday night, WWE Superstars on WGN America saw a plethora of impressive in-ring action. With Superstars such as John Morrison, Christian, Evan Bourne, William Regal, Kane and Jamie Noble all competing in one-on-one matches, the night was a tutorial on what it takes to be an in-ring warrior.

Christian def. William Regal (PHOTOS | WATCH) Three days before Captain Charisma faces ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer for the title, he had to go one-on-one with another in-ring veteran in the hard-hitting William Regal. Throughout the match, the Englishman certainly took it to Christian and at several moments it looked as if the Peeps would be disappointed. But thanks to a springboard sunset flip, the crowd was left pleased as Captain Charisma won and gained some important momentum heading into Night of Champions.
Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble (PHOTOS | WATCH) Despite suffering a devastating attack by Big Show last week on Raw, Air Bourne came back with an impressive victory this week against The Pitbull. It was a back-and-forth match that seemed like it could go either way, with Noble grounding Bourne and thwarting several of his attempts to go to the top rope. In the end, a devastating kick to the head took the bark away from The Pitbull and allowed the young Raw Superstar to live up to the Air moniker and hit the Shooting Star Press followed by the 1-2-3.
John Morrison def. Kane by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) Impressively, The Friday Night Delight was able to subdue The Big Red Monster for much of their match, frustrating Kane enough to throw a chair in Morrisons face causing a disqualification. In a match pitting speed and agility vs. strength and power, it seemed that The Shaman of Sexy had the sadistic Superstars number until Kane opted to use the chair. After the match, Kane looked to continue the assault until The Great Khali made his way to ringside. With the distraction, Morrison was able to attain a little revenge by striking down The Big Red Machine with a vicious chair shot. This left Kane prone to Khali, but as The Punjabi Playboy grabbed the 7-foot, 300-pound monster, a fear struck Kane kicked free of Khalis grasp and fled away through the crowd. Does The Big Red Monster have a plan for The Punjabi Giant, or was he fleeing in fear of The Great Khali?
- Beth Phoenix has not been seen on RAW much lately but sources say there is no heat on her and she is not suffering from any kind of injury. Her absence is just explained as creative not having a spot for her in the title picture right now and that theyre going more for the bikini look for the Divas on RAW right now.
Matt Hardy Update; Backstage At Raw, Rehab News Posted by Andy Steven on 07/21/2009 at 10:40 PM
WWE Superstar Matt Hardy updated his fans on his injury in his new MySpace blog. I'm feeling better by the day and can't wait to get back to 100%, and better than ever. Rehab and training is coming along slowly but good. Hardy said.
Hardy also revealed on his Twitter account that he was at last night's WWE Raw taping in Raleigh, North Carolina. He wrote the following on his Twitter page; Good day guys and gals. Stopped by Raw in Raleigh & got to see alot of peeps.. Being at the show made me a lil stir crazy to wrestle again..
It is being said that Taz's arrival in TNA has "shaken up" both Mike Tenay and Don West as the general belief is that he will wind up as an announcer once his role managing Samoa Joe runs its course. One of the reasons given for West's new heelish persona was to get him over as a character and thus save his spot when Taz arrived. However, no one has been given any indication on what the future announcing crew would be.
Yoshi Tatsu def. William Regal Ezekiel Jackson def. Local competitor Shelton Benjamin def. Goldust Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill
RICHMOND, Va. Just days before Night of Champions at 8/5 PT Sunday, those who wander the Land of the Extreme continue to search for a way to become the face of the ever-changing franchise. ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer and Christian crossed paths for the final time before their contest at the pay-per-view, while new Superstars to the brand and to all of WWE made significant impacts, suggesting a new blood may be pumping through the Extreme veins of ECW.
The Abraham Washington Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) Tensions are running high as ever in the week leading up to Night of Champions. As guests on The Abraham Washington Show, ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer and Christian could not contain themselves. Washingtons leading questions were no help as the ECW Original and Captain Charisma almost turned conversation into chaos, slapping one another and nearly coming to blows as ECW on Syfy went off the air.
Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS) Another new talent, Tyler Reks, was still in search of his first win. After two consecutive losses to Zack Ryder, Reks changed his luck and defeated Paul Burchill in a competitive contest. Unfortunately for the young Superstar, he couldn't enjoy his victory for long. Burchill took matters into his own hands after the bell, making Reks pay.
A visit with Sheamus Despite not having a match on ECW on Syfy, Sheamus made sure not to be forgotten when he checked in from outside of the locker room. The Irishman, who has been immensely successful in his young, undefeated career, told the WWE Universe that the days of Finlay and Hornswoggle making a spectacle of themselves were over in the Land of the Extreme. The self-proclaimed "Celtic Warrior" would make ECW's viewers regret once worshipping the heroes that he will lay to waste in the coming months.
Shelton Benjamin def. Goldust (PHOTOS) Shelton Benjamin continues to climb toward his Gold Standard status, beating the very substance he claims to be. Goldust impressed ECW viewers with a strong effort, but in the end, it wasnt enough to overcome Benjamin.
Ezekiel Jackson def. local competitor (PHOTOS | WATCH) While he came over to ECW in the 2009 WWE Supplemental Draft, Ezekiel Jackson is the most recent ECW Superstar to make his first appearance for the brand. In the ring, he gave the WWE Universe a glimpse of what to expect as he cruised to a convincing victory. The celebration was cut short by Vladimir Kozlov, however, who insisted on showing up Jackson by applying a few maneuvers of his own on the fallen competitor. The Russian Superstar then left the ring without explanation or words of any kind for Jackson.
Yoshi Tatsu def. William Regal (PHOTOS) In the first match of the evening at the Richmond Coliseum, ECW newcomer Yoshi Tatsu earned what many would consider his first victory. In his debut bout, he surprised Shelton Benjamin with an unexpected blow and covered him for the win, only to lose to Benjamin in their rematch the following week. On ECW, Tatsu and Regal put forth a great match for the WWE Universe, but in the end, it was the young Japanese Superstar who had his fists raised in the air after pinning the seasoned veteran.
