Taz comes out to the ring to kick off iMPACT! With a microphone in hand. He says years ago, he used to wrestle for a company called ECW and during that time he sustained career threatening injuries and prevented him from what he loved to do best and that's perform for the fans. He called 100's of matches for WWE and some of Wrestlemania's greatest matches as a color commentator. He said he knew there was more he could do and he saw TNA..he saw Samoa Joe...he said they had a lot of similarities but Joe showed remorse..where he was unable to do that. He had a talk with Joe..he told him its not about doing what makes people happy..its about what wins titles and makes money. He became the teacher, Joe became the student. He says he & Joe are indebted to Kurt Angle and the prestigious MEM.
Tonight, he says, Joe will add more gold..and that's the TNA X Division title..and he's got a message for Homicide..."beat Joe if you can, survive if he lets you." Samoa Joe's music hits and he comes out to the ring for his match.
*X Division Title Match - Homicide defeated Samoa Joe via DQ. Joe hit the ref, locked in the Tazmission on Homicide and postmatch, continued to beat down on Homicide as ordered by Taz. Mexican music hit & a new video for Hernandez played as he ran down to the ring to aid his LAX partner. Joe stood in the corner with his arms crossed as Hernandez made his way into the ring. He's lost a noticeable amount of weight & looks great. Taz & Joe walked off as Hernandez checked on Homicide.
The Main Event Mafia come out to the ring. Kurt Angle addresses what went down at Victory Road. He wants to put everyone in the back at ease and no one is getting fired. He is a compassionate guy. He says TNA needs the MEM. And tonight for the fans, he has a present for them all. Nash, Booker & Steiner are all going to put their titles on the line for their entertainment. Jarrett is home, Sting is 1000's of miles away licking his wounds, so only there is Mick Foley to attend to.
Foley comes out to the ring he said that Kurt made him tap out after he said it would never happen. He was ready to go home until he heard Angle was messing with the front office and saying that there would be no TNA without MEM. He admits they all dropped the ball last night and maybe he ran out of gas last night...and that with Kurt as a 13 time Champ, knows what its like on 12 occasions how to have a bad day. Angle says Foley reminds him of an old dog and a dog needs a master...says he could be his master..gives him the name Old Tapper. He says if it wasn't for him & Joe outsmarting him, Foley would still be TNA Champion. Angle says he's the man and could kick Foley's ass right now, but won't do that cause he wants one last thing from him. He pulls out a set of keys, they are the keys to Mick Foley's office. He says they are gonna hang them up high on a pole for a match tonight.
*TNA Legends Title Match - Kevin Nash w/Jenna Morasca defeated Amazing Red.
10 Man Tag Match: Doug Williams, Brutus Magnus, Rob Terry, Kiyoshi & Sheik Abdul Bashir defeated Beer Money, Daniels, AJ Styles & Eric Young when Magnus pinned Styles. Styles went for the Styles Clash while everyone was brawling on the outside, Young tapped Styles on the shoulder & gave him a piledriver allowing Magnus to get the pin. He then posed with the Invasion in the ring.
*TNA Tag Title Match: Scott Steiner & Booker T w/Sharmell def Big Rocco & Sally Boy when Steiner pinned Rocco.
*TNA Knockouts Battle Royal - The Winner receives $50,000 & a spot in the Main Event Mafia Referee: Traci Brooks Participants: ODB, Alyssa Flash, SoJo Bolt, Daffney, Taylor Wilde, Sarita, Awesome Kong, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, Angelina Love and Tara..it came down to Kong & Tara ..they were both close to eliminating one another, when Traci Brooks flipped them over the rope to win and began to celebrate. Nash introduced her as the winner and she jumped into his arms.
Best of 3 series: winner of series goes into the main event of Hard Justice. AJ Styles defeated Matt Morgan.
There have been graphics for TNA 200, so I'm guessing its iMPACT's 200th episode
Office Keys On A Pole Match: Mick Foley vs. Kurt Angle
At one point, Angle had the keychain & fell with it, leaving the hook up on the pole, Earl Hebner had to reattach the keys. Foley used the Mandible Claw and knocked Angle out, he went for the keys, but the MEM came down and attacked Foley. They held Foley while Angle belittled him on the microphone. Bobby Lashley's music hit and he came out via the heel tunnel and made his way to the ring. He came in and embraced Angle with a smile on his face. He looked to be aligned with the Mafia but then instead of attacking Foley, he turned around and punched Angle..he went after the Mafia and they made their way out of the ring and up the ramp. Lashley then helped up Foley and posed for the fans as the Mafia looked on with disgust.
Though some are not pleased with Jeff Hardys decision to embark on a hiatus while the Smackdown roster is short on main event talent, his recent performances have earned him praise in the WWE locker room. WWE has been particularly impressed with Hardys work ethic on the road, noting he has been doing a great job of putting CM Punk over.
Hardys exit is still described as imminent, which is why WWE is hard at work getting talent like John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler over, although some close to Hardy believe he will work Summerslam.
Recent reports have suggested that former WWE Superstar John Bradshaw Layfield is in contact with TNA regarding a possible role with the company. However, according to his Twitter, there in fact have been no talks.
"No talks of tna and no regrets on my career- internet rumours are completely bogus. I am happy playing golf and being retired"
Former WWE star teases going to TNA Posted by Randy Gordon on 07/24/2009 at 01:26 PM

Christian def. William Regal Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble John Morrison def. Kane by disqualification
Thursday night, WWE Superstars on WGN America saw a plethora of impressive in-ring action. With Superstars such as John Morrison, Christian, Evan Bourne, William Regal, Kane and Jamie Noble all competing in one-on-one matches, the night was a tutorial on what it takes to be an in-ring warrior.

Christian def. William Regal (PHOTOS | WATCH) Three days before Captain Charisma faces ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer for the title, he had to go one-on-one with another in-ring veteran in the hard-hitting William Regal. Throughout the match, the Englishman certainly took it to Christian and at several moments it looked as if the Peeps would be disappointed. But thanks to a springboard sunset flip, the crowd was left pleased as Captain Charisma won and gained some important momentum heading into Night of Champions.
Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble (PHOTOS | WATCH) Despite suffering a devastating attack by Big Show last week on Raw, Air Bourne came back with an impressive victory this week against The Pitbull. It was a back-and-forth match that seemed like it could go either way, with Noble grounding Bourne and thwarting several of his attempts to go to the top rope. In the end, a devastating kick to the head took the bark away from The Pitbull and allowed the young Raw Superstar to live up to the Air moniker and hit the Shooting Star Press followed by the 1-2-3.
John Morrison def. Kane by disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH) Impressively, The Friday Night Delight was able to subdue The Big Red Monster for much of their match, frustrating Kane enough to throw a chair in Morrisons face causing a disqualification. In a match pitting speed and agility vs. strength and power, it seemed that The Shaman of Sexy had the sadistic Superstars number until Kane opted to use the chair. After the match, Kane looked to continue the assault until The Great Khali made his way to ringside. With the distraction, Morrison was able to attain a little revenge by striking down The Big Red Machine with a vicious chair shot. This left Kane prone to Khali, but as The Punjabi Playboy grabbed the 7-foot, 300-pound monster, a fear struck Kane kicked free of Khalis grasp and fled away through the crowd. Does The Big Red Monster have a plan for The Punjabi Giant, or was he fleeing in fear of The Great Khali?
- Beth Phoenix has not been seen on RAW much lately but sources say there is no heat on her and she is not suffering from any kind of injury. Her absence is just explained as creative not having a spot for her in the title picture right now and that theyre going more for the bikini look for the Divas on RAW right now.
Matt Hardy Update; Backstage At Raw, Rehab News Posted by Andy Steven on 07/21/2009 at 10:40 PM
WWE Superstar Matt Hardy updated his fans on his injury in his new MySpace blog. I'm feeling better by the day and can't wait to get back to 100%, and better than ever. Rehab and training is coming along slowly but good. Hardy said.
Hardy also revealed on his Twitter account that he was at last night's WWE Raw taping in Raleigh, North Carolina. He wrote the following on his Twitter page; Good day guys and gals. Stopped by Raw in Raleigh & got to see alot of peeps.. Being at the show made me a lil stir crazy to wrestle again..
It is being said that Taz's arrival in TNA has "shaken up" both Mike Tenay and Don West as the general belief is that he will wind up as an announcer once his role managing Samoa Joe runs its course. One of the reasons given for West's new heelish persona was to get him over as a character and thus save his spot when Taz arrived. However, no one has been given any indication on what the future announcing crew would be.
Yoshi Tatsu def. William Regal Ezekiel Jackson def. Local competitor Shelton Benjamin def. Goldust Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill
RICHMOND, Va. Just days before Night of Champions at 8/5 PT Sunday, those who wander the Land of the Extreme continue to search for a way to become the face of the ever-changing franchise. ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer and Christian crossed paths for the final time before their contest at the pay-per-view, while new Superstars to the brand and to all of WWE made significant impacts, suggesting a new blood may be pumping through the Extreme veins of ECW.
The Abraham Washington Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) Tensions are running high as ever in the week leading up to Night of Champions. As guests on The Abraham Washington Show, ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer and Christian could not contain themselves. Washingtons leading questions were no help as the ECW Original and Captain Charisma almost turned conversation into chaos, slapping one another and nearly coming to blows as ECW on Syfy went off the air.
Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS) Another new talent, Tyler Reks, was still in search of his first win. After two consecutive losses to Zack Ryder, Reks changed his luck and defeated Paul Burchill in a competitive contest. Unfortunately for the young Superstar, he couldn't enjoy his victory for long. Burchill took matters into his own hands after the bell, making Reks pay.
A visit with Sheamus Despite not having a match on ECW on Syfy, Sheamus made sure not to be forgotten when he checked in from outside of the locker room. The Irishman, who has been immensely successful in his young, undefeated career, told the WWE Universe that the days of Finlay and Hornswoggle making a spectacle of themselves were over in the Land of the Extreme. The self-proclaimed "Celtic Warrior" would make ECW's viewers regret once worshipping the heroes that he will lay to waste in the coming months.
Shelton Benjamin def. Goldust (PHOTOS) Shelton Benjamin continues to climb toward his Gold Standard status, beating the very substance he claims to be. Goldust impressed ECW viewers with a strong effort, but in the end, it wasnt enough to overcome Benjamin.
Ezekiel Jackson def. local competitor (PHOTOS | WATCH) While he came over to ECW in the 2009 WWE Supplemental Draft, Ezekiel Jackson is the most recent ECW Superstar to make his first appearance for the brand. In the ring, he gave the WWE Universe a glimpse of what to expect as he cruised to a convincing victory. The celebration was cut short by Vladimir Kozlov, however, who insisted on showing up Jackson by applying a few maneuvers of his own on the fallen competitor. The Russian Superstar then left the ring without explanation or words of any kind for Jackson.
Yoshi Tatsu def. William Regal (PHOTOS) In the first match of the evening at the Richmond Coliseum, ECW newcomer Yoshi Tatsu earned what many would consider his first victory. In his debut bout, he surprised Shelton Benjamin with an unexpected blow and covered him for the win, only to lose to Benjamin in their rematch the following week. On ECW, Tatsu and Regal put forth a great match for the WWE Universe, but in the end, it was the young Japanese Superstar who had his fists raised in the air after pinning the seasoned veteran.
It has now been confirmed that Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle are in fact romantically involved, as was revealed on Bubba The Love Sponge by an anonymous caller. It has been rumored within the company among wrestlers for months, but it had never really been confirmed.
There are several sources saying that the relationship dates back to last fall, when Jarrett and Kurt Angle were feuding on TV. Kurt may have even been aware it was going on back then.
Contradictory to previous reports, sources now say that Jarretts time off was his decision, and wasnt forced upon him by Dixie Carter. The decision was apparently made after recent issues arose between Kurt and Karen regarding the custody of their children. The word going around at the Impact tapings was that Jeff removed himself from TNA while the custody issues are ongoing. Until those issues became heated, Jarrett and Angle had been able to co-exist.
ProWrestling.net has confirmed reports that there was some talk in WWE about bringing back Kurt Angle. However, when re-signing Kurt was pitched to Vince McMahon by the creative team, Vince shot the idea down quickly. Vince said he feels Angle was not a channel changer and also cited his prescription pill issues. Prior to pitching it to McMahon, the creative team was split on the issue.
Several months ago, a WWE source said that the company would be interested in using Angle on a limited schedule similar to Shawn Michaels and Undertaker, however that doesnt seem to be the case anymore. The main concern is whether he would adhere to the Wellness Policy.
There are conflicting reports regarding Angles current TNA contract. Some say it expires in September, while others are under the impression that theres another year left on the deal.
It appears that Shelton Benjamins recent move to ECW was not done as a demotion, but instead there is hope that hell once again emerge as a big fish in a small pond. The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter is reporting that the company feels if he heats up on ECW, they can always move him back to RAW or Smackdown. Sheltons reputation for years was that hes a great athlete but lacks the motivation to live up to WWEs expectations of him, and this caused his Smackdown push to be scaled back. The feeling of several sources is that he became complacent once he made some money, but has shed that reputation in recent months.
In another report by PWTorch.com, they state that WWE officials take into account the number of minority wrestlers they have on each brand. More than one source says that race was something taken into account as part of the recent 15-wrestler trade between brands.
It would appear that there is something to the anonymous TNA employee's claims on last Wednesday's episode of Bubba the Love Sponge's satellite show that Karen Angle and her children were living together with Jeff Jarrett. It is now coming out that TNA president Dixie Carter ordered Jarrett to go home as soon as she found out about the person's claims, which has been described publicly as him agreeing to take a leave of absence.
At Saturday night's TNA house show in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kurt Angle was telling people that he is going to end up with the booking control of the company that Jarrett had and that he won't sign a new contract with TNA if Jarrett remains in power. No one really know how things will transpire from this point. Angle's contract with TNA is set to expire in September and he has not yet agreed to a new one.
Jarrett was booked in segments on last night's pay-per-view that were either tweaked or removed. The direction of the booking for last night's show was planned before all of this stuff went down, as is television for the next few weeks. However, everything involving Jarrett will obviously have to be tweaked and/or removed as he was slated to further his program with Eric Young at this week's slate of television tapings.
For the most part, the wrestlers are more sympathetic to Kurt Angle on the matter, aside from those who have close ties with Jarrett.
TNA personnel are playing the tape from Wednesday's episode of Bubba over and over in hopes of figuring out the person who disguised his voice and started this messy situation. Before the mystery person in question went on the air, he or she asked for Bubba to disguise his voice with some sort of distorted audio. Bubba did, so there is probably no way of telling who it was that called in.
Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer wrote a brief note on the www.f4wonline.com message board to say that it was actually Dixie Carter's decision for Jeff Jarrett to step away from his duties in TNA, not Jarrett's.
"It was not Jeff's decision. It was Dixie's decision," Meltzer wrote. "Very complicated issue. In fact, more complicated than anyone would believe."
It should be noted that there was a rumor going around among TNA personnel backstage at last night's show saying Jarrett was suspended.

Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho (disqualification) Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero in a "Sharp Dressed Man" Tuxedo Match Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes def. Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim in a "Legs" Match John Cena & Triple H def. WWE Champion Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase
RALEIGH, N.C. - With legendary guitar gurus Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill of ZZ Top sharing celebrity guest hosting honors, tonights Raw was bound to be a rockin time. As if to drive home the point, John Cena, Triple H and WWE Champion Randy Orton struck a menacing chord.
John Cena & Triple H def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & The Legacy (PHOTOS | WATCH) For all the disdain he exhibits toward his Night of Champions opponents, Triple H and John Cena, WWE Champion Randy Orton knows enough not to take these two men lightly. As he teamed up with his Legacy cohorts Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase against the pair, Orton knew this match would be pivotal. After all, whoever wins would be sure to enjoy a tremendous amount of momentum heading into Night of Champions. The only problem being that The Game and Cena were both well aware of the ramifications as well.
After a bumpy ride as well as some high contention with The Game it was Cena who finally scored a quick pin on The Viper, securing not only the win but also a great boost toward Night of Champions in just six days.
Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes def. Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim in a Legs Match; Shaquille ONeal to guest host next week (PHOTOS | WATCH) Theyve got legs. And they certainly know how to use them. Compliments of Gibbons and Hill, leggy Divas Alicia Fox & Rosa Mendes took on Kelly Kelly & Gail Kim in a ZZ Top Legs Match. When the air had finally cleared, long, tall Fox carried the day for her team by managing a pin against Kelly Kelly.
Moments earlier, Jerry The King Lawler and Michael Cole announced that next weeks celebrity guest host will be none other than NBA powerhouse Shaquille ONeal!
Hornswoggle def. Chavo Guerrero in a Sharp Dressed Man Tuxedo Match (PHOTOS | WATCH) The humiliation continues for Chavo Guerrero. For the third time in a row, the proud Mexican Warrior lost to Hornswoggle, this time in a Sharp Dressed Man Match to borrow a name from one of ZZ Tops most beloved hits. After dropping bouts to Hornswoggle while fighting on his knees and also with one hand tied behind his back, tonight appeared to be pay back time for Guerrero. But it wasnt meant to be as the wily and persistent leprechaun went 3-0 against Chavo by ripping off Guerrero's tuxedo for the win.
Mark Henry def. Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho by disqualification (PHOTOS) Chris Jericho has a decision to make. Who will the Unified Tag Team Champion choose as his teammate heading into Night of Champions now that Edge has suffered a debilitating injury? One thing is certain: Its not looking good for Mark Henry. The Worlds Strongest Man seemed bent on punishing Jericho until the arrogant Superstar attacked him with a metal folding chair, getting himself disqualified. Afterward, Henry not-so-subtly roughed up the Unified Tag Team Champion.
Divas Champion Maryse sprayed Mickie James in eyes with mystery substance (PHOTOS | WATCH) As Mickie James spoke with WWE announcer Josh Mathews about her chances of capturing the Divas Championship against Maryse at Night of Champions, The Miz showed up in an apparent attempt at trying to impress the conceited French Canadian. After hearing enough of Mizs putdowns, Mickie turned to leave, only to be confronted by Maryse, who doused her eyes with a mystery substance.
Jerry The King Lawler def. The Brian Kendrick (PHOTOS) The Brian Kendrick was hoping to secure a spot alongside Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho this Sunday at Night of Champions when reveals his new partner. Sadly for Kendrick, his mouth may have cost him his chance. After berating Jerry The King Lawler before his match, the WWE Hall of Famer introduced himself as Kendricks opponent. Lawler then showed the crowd just why hes been inducted into WWEs hallowed halls by defeating the cocky Superstar.
Six Pack Challenge announced for Night of Champions for U.S. Title; U.S. Champion Kofi Kingston, MVP & Primo def. Big Show, Jack Swagger & Carlito (PHOTOS | WATCH) The hunt for the United States Championship just took a large, disturbing turn. Before a Six-Man Tag Team Match kicked off, it was announced that United States Champion Kofi Kingston will defend his title this Sunday in a Six Pack Challenge at Night of Champions, which will see the Jamaican Superstar battle MVP, Big Show, Jack Swagger, The Miz and Carlito. Once the six-man bout got underway, the team of Kingston, MVP & Primo proved too much for Big Show, Swagger & Carlito when Primo pinned his Backstabbing brother. Perhaps to show his frustration or maybe his dominance The Worlds Largest Athlete then began to decimate everything in his path, including his own teammates.
WWE Champion Randy Orton will join The Legacy against John Cena & Triple H in main event (PHOTOS) Cena informed the packed house at the RBC Center that when he battles Orton and The Game in a Triple Threat Match at Night of Champions in six days he plans on stepping from the ring with the WWE Title securely in his grasp. As might be expected, the current champion took exception.
The Viper was only too glad to administer a history lesson. He reminded Cena that it was he who retained the title when the three clashed previously in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXIV before his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase surrounded the ring. Before they could act, however, The Game joined the party. He told Orton that he's unconcerned who wins the title at Night of Champions as long as it's not The Viper.
After digesting his opponents' criticism, Orton was not satisfied to simply antagonize The Game and Cena; he also asked that they include him in the main event match alongside Rhodes & DiBiase. The Game and Cena readily agreed, and so the main event would offer a preview of sorts of the Triple Threat WWE Title Match at Night of Champions.
Jeff Jarrett did not attend last night's Victory Road pay-per-view, nor will be attending this week's slate of television tapings. TNA front office employees were told during a company meeting late last week that he is taking some "personal time off."
Jarrett was previously scheduled to at least be involved in some pre-taped backstage segments at last night's show. He was also going to continue building a program with Eric Young at this week's Impact tapings.
As a result of his absence, the creative team and several producers ran things backstage last night at Victory Road.
It's interesting to note that Jarrett's sudden absence coincidentally occurs after an incident on Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show last week where an "anonymous TNA employee" had their voice distorted and claimed on-air that Jarrett was now involved in a relationship with the ex-wife of Kurt Angle, Karen. The person claimed the two were living together at Jarrett's residence.
A rumored relationship between Jarrett and Karen Angle has been bouncing around for several months, so the caller was simply repeating the oft-cited rumor. However, giving the timing of Jarrett deciding to take some personal time off, it does seem rather peculiar.
TNA's public relations official Steve Godfrey declined to comment on the situation this morning when contacted. He said he could not "comment on personnel issues at this time."
Jarrett's sudden absence was a large topic of discussion among wrestlers and employees at last night's pay-per-view. This may have been the first pay-per-view in the company's seven-year history which he was not running and/or backstage.
There is said to be no timetable on when he will return to his duties.
- Don West said at the very end of tonights Victory Road pay-per-view that Bobby Lashley will be officially joining The Main Event Mafia on this Thursdays Impact.
- After Victory Road went off the air, The Mafia continued celebrating in the ring. Mick Foley left the ring and went to his wife and two kids who were sitting at ringside.
