Candice Michelle update: Her asking price & future
The PWTorch Newsletter reports that Candice Michelle is asking $5,000 per-appearance now that shes been released from WWE. Friends say she is doing well financially from the GoDaddy.com commercials and other non-wrestling appearances, plus her husband also makes good money as a chiropractor.
She has told friends that she never needed to wrestle, but enjoyed it. Shes not ruling out a return to the wrestling business, but is giving friends the impression that she wants to spend more time at home now that shes no longer with WWE.
Theres no word yet on whether TNA is interested or not.
Recently released TNA referee Rudy Charles has posted a new blog on his MySpace account. Here are some highlights:
I was recently informed by TNA Wrestling that I was being let go. While I could easily cast blame and be angry at the circumstances, that is not how I want to handle the situation. As a company, TNA is free to run their business as they see fit.
I had been a part of the TNA family since the company began in 2002. On camera, I served as a referee since the first show and was promoted to senior referee a few months later. Behind the scenes, I was as a receptionist/assistant/merchandise guy/you name it for the first year and a half and have served as the Creative Assistant for the last 3½ years. During that time, it has been a privilege to serve my co-workers and you, the fans, every time I stepped into the TNA offices, the creative meetings or the six-sided ring. However, that chapter of my life has come to an end and I would like to wish TNA the best in their future endeavors.
While I am still considering all the possibilities that my future holds and exploring options outside of the wrestling business, I am by no means stepping away from the ring. I have talked to several promoters about refereeing for their organizations and am excited about some of the possibilities and challenges that working with an up-and-coming promotion can provide.
He also thanks his family, fans, colleagues and friends for their support.
As reported earlier, referee Rudy Charles recently parted ways with TNA. Contrary to reports on various wrestling websites, Charles was released as he did not quit the organization, reports The Sun.
His primary job in the company was as an assistant to the creative team, but he was no longer needed and TNA chose not to retain him as a referee.
In an interview with The Southtown Star, Hulk Hogan talked about various topics including the WWE vs. TNA war:
"I watch both products. (TNA's) like the little engine that could. Everybody thought they wouldn't be around for long, and they've been chugging along for seven years. They gain momentum every week. They seem to be real fresh. When a lot of guys go over to that side of the fence, they seem to get a spring in their step," Hogan said. He added that he also watched the WWE product saying, " Vince is the constant. He's the standard of excellence. I just love watching his show because you never know what he is going to do. Plus, the production -- you can't even touch his production. It's so dialed-in. It's amazing just to see how they put the pieces together."
"If you look at history, everyone says, 'History repeats itself.' With all of the choices in the universe of entertainment, I look at the big package and look at the big picture from 40,000 feet. I see history repeating itself. I see TNA getting strong. I see Vince McMahon being impeccable except for a few little holes in the boat."
"TNA is lacking that one momentum-shifting move, that one big name that would even the playing field, the brand (that is) just as powerful as the WWE brand. (TNA's) lacking the big piece of the puzzle. It wouldn't matter who did what in the past. It will be a totally even playing field. You never know."
The question now is Hogan really interested in TNA or is this his way of trying to get leverage with Vince McMahon for another WWE run?
Matt Hardy has posted a new blog on WWE Universe including a graphic photo of his abdomen following surgery on July 2. You can view the photo at this link.
Hardy said he knew he was injured half was through last weeks WWE Superstars triple threat match against MVP and Kofi in Green Bay. The triple threat match against MVP and Kofi in Green Bay was the straw that broke the camel's back. In a few days, I'm gonna post a tell-all blog on my WWE Universe page and fill everyone in on everything.
He added, when Kofi gave me a cross body from the top rope, my intestines basically exploded out of my abdominal wall. And not just in one spot, but in two spots. It was so excruciatingly painful it's almost hard to describe. It felt like someone took a hot knife and sliced it deeply into my lower abdomen. I did my best to try and get through the remainder of the match, but I knew I was hurt badly. I had to have it fixed, or face major health problems. Problems that could have possibly killed me. So I had do what was good for me, my career, my friends, and my loved ones. And that was get it corrected and fixed.
Hardy also thanked the WWE, Dr. Pappas, Duke Medical Center, Shannon Moore for their support through the injury.
Former WWE Superstar Elijah Burke is currently dealing with a medical issue. He revealed on his Twitter that he was on the way to hospital but not to assume anything. Well, Pope's en route to the emergency room. However, don't ASSUME anything! Pope will let you know his status shortly, if need be.
Burke later then followed it up with, Minor Surgery. I'm kinda out of it right now. Not sure, but Elijah Burke may be finished for right now. I will update later @ TEE.com.
Previous to both tweets Burke said he fell down a flight of stairs, which may be the cause of his surgery. Good Grief, Pope just fell down a flight of stairs. Of injuries, not sure; Pretty banged up, I Am.

SAN JOSE, Calif. The Million Dollar Man certainly knows how to get his moneys worth. Having bought his way onto Raw as special guest host, he put the entire roster on notice, including his own son. The moneyed mover-and-shaker also arranged two matches for Night of Champions: Unified WWE Tag Team Champion Edge & Chris Jericho will defend against The Legacys Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes; WWE Champion Randy Orton will defend his title in a Triple Threat Match against Triple H and John Cena.
Triple H vs. John Cena ended in a double disqualification after Rhodes & DiBiase interfered; Million Dollar Man calls a WWE Triple Threat Title Match for Night of Champions with Orton vs. Triple H vs. John Cena (PHOTOS | WATCH | FULL PREVIEW) Saying something does not make it so. If only that were true, WWE Champion Randy Orton would have been one happy man after the Night of Champions Tournament final. The match pitted Triple H against John Cena in only their third-ever bout against each other to determine which Superstar would face Orton for the title in three weeks. The momentum between these two warriors ebbed and flowed throughout the match until, battle-weary, they were attacked by Ortons Legacy henchmen, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. With both The Game and Cena each having won a match in their two previous encounters, their third-ever match would end in a double disqualification.
Thats when The Viper smugly attempted to tell the WWE Universe that, since there was no winner, he would have to face neither man at Night of Champions. His self-satisfaction was cut off at the knees, however, when The Million Dollar Man, interrupted him with a different interpretation of events. Raws special guest host informed Orton that, the way he saw things, neither man lost. Therefore, each would be allowed to compete for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions in a Triple Threat Match.
Evan Bourne def. United States Champion Kofi Kingston; Big Show attacked both (PHOTOS | WATCH) United States Champion Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne put on quite an air show when the two took to the ring. Bourne, a new Raw recruit, appeared determined to avenge his premiere match as a Raw Superstar in which he lost to WWE Champion Randy Orton. Despite the Jamaican Superstars always exciting effort, Bourne proved too difficult to ground as he prevailed in the match. As the Raw rookie offered Kingston a hand up, however, Big Show stormed the ring. The Worlds Largest Athlete attacked the United States Champion without provocation, which attracted the ire of Bourne, who tried to help his fellow high-flyer. While Bourne and Kingston worked well against the behemoth, Show eventually left the two to nurse some painful scrapes and bruises.
Jack Swagger confronts MVP in the VIP Lounge (PHOTOS | WATCH) Montel Vontavious Porter doesnt take insults very well or at all, for that matter. After extending an invitation to his VIP Lounge to Jack Swagger, The Franchise Playa asked why one of Raws newest recruits would intentionally lose a match to Randy Orton just as The All American-American did last week. Swagger went on to bring up his hosts incarceration as a young man. MVP used the occasion to insist that he wasnt ashamed of his troubled past and, in fact, has since tried to use his experience to keep other young men out of prison. The fact that Swagger tried to insult MVP, however, was cause enough for The Franchise Playa to challenge him. For his part, Swagger cravenly exited the ring, saying that he doesnt fight people beneath him. Oh, no he didnt!
Randy Orton def. Ted DiBiase (PHOTOS | WATCH) When his father arranged for him to face the leader of The Legacy, WWE Champion Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase was shocked and outraged. How could his own flesh and blood do such a thing? But then, after Orton suggested that DiBiase could never beat him, a fire was suddenly lit under Ortons henchman. That blaze fueled DiBiase as he tackled the challenge of Orton head-on. DiBiases resilience seemed to surprise the WWE Champion, who failed to pin the young upstart in several attempts. Despite a valiant effort, however, DiBiase fell to The Viper, who hit a devastating RKO to ensure the victory.
Mark Henry def. Cody Rhodes by count-out (PHOTOS) It was clear from the moment the Million Dollar Man arranged the match that Cody Rhodes wanted nothing to do with Mark Henry. Rhodes even tried to bribe Million Dollar Man to no avail into calling off the bout. Once the match got underway, however, it was easy to see why. The Worlds Strongest Man, and new Raw acquisition, dominated the second generation Superstar, pummeling him to the point where Rhodes, after a particularly hard hit, left the ring and refused to return, resulting in a loss by intentional count-out.
Mickie James & Gail Kim def. Divas Champion Maryse & Alicia Fox (PHOTOS) Mickie James keeps circling Divas Champion Maryse and eyeing her title like a kid eyes an ice cream cone she can practically taste it. Before she has an opportunity to net the WWE Butterfly at Night of Champions, though, shes using the next few weeks to get a better bead on her arrogant opponents ring style. This week, she was joined by new Raw recruit Gail Kim, while Maryse shared a corner with Alicia Fox. When the glitter finally settled on these smart, sexy, powerful ladies, however, it was actually Kim who had pinned the Divas Champion, leaving Maryses feathers more than a little ruffled.
Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho def. Carlito & Primo; Carlito attacked brother Primo after the match (PHOTOS | WATCH) The frustration was unmistakable. For the third time in a row, Carlito, along with his younger brother, Primo, failed to defeat Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho. After the match, with Primo on his knees recovering from an Edge spear, the elder Colon could not longer contain his aggravation. He grabbed Primo and threw him against the ring post, then slammed him atop the announcers table before storming off.
Special guest host Million Dollar Man arranged match between Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho and Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions; he also arranged two other matches: Rhodes vs. Mark Henry and his son Ted vs. WWE Champion Randy Orton (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The Million Dollar Man stood in the center of the ring flanked by his son, Ted DiBiase, and Cody Rhodes. The WWE Legend announced to the crowd packed into the HP Pavilion that The Legacy would battle the Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho for their titles at Night of Champions.
Then he dropped a couple of bombshells. He not only arranged for Cody to face off against Mark Henry later in the night, he also pitted his own son in a match against the leader of The Legacy, WWE Champion Randy Orton. Despite protests from the young Superstars, the ring veteran refused to budge.
WWE Unified Tag Team Champion, Edge suffered a tear to his Achilles heel tendon last Friday, July 3, during a WWE live event in San Diego. Edge's opponent was the man with whom he has traded the WWE Championship, Jeff Hardy.
Almost immediately after the bout started, Edge was in his corner when Hardy charged toward him. After attempting to leapfrog Hardy, Edge crumbled to the canvas. Hardy was backed off by the referee, who checked repeatedly with Edge before summoning WWE doctors and athletic trainers and instructing ring announcer Justin Roberts that because Edge could not continue, Jeff Hardy was the winner of the match via forfeit. WWE referees, athletic trainers and doctors then helped Edge to the back as Edge could bear no weight on his left ankle.
Edge arrived this morning at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., this morning to surgically repair the torn Achilles tendon in his left ankle. Dr. James Andrews currently has Edge's operation scheduled for 10 a.m. ET. Dr. Andrews has previously performed surgeries on WWE Superstars Batista, Triple H, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and many others. Andrews also consulted on NFL quarterback Tom Brady after his third knee surgery and most recently worked with Brett Favre for his possible return to the NFL.
WWE.com will attempt to have comments from both Dr. Andrews and Edge later today, including a timeline for Edge's return to the ring.
WWE.com will also investigate how this injury will affect the status of the Unified Tag Team Titles, as well as Edge & Chris Jericho's scheduled match with Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase at Night of Champions.
Smackdown Superstar Matt Hardy has posted a new blog on his MySpace page where he addresses the injury reports and sheds some light on whats been going on with him. Thanks to Jen Carson for passing this along:
Well guys and gals, since the news has been leaked all over the net, I figured I should go ahead and address it truthfully. Yes, the rumors are true, I had some major surgery a couple of day ago. The triple threat match against MVP and Kofi in Green Bay was the straw that broke the camels back. In a few days, Im gonna blog on my WWE Universe page and fill everyone in on everything. But heres a little taste of how tough and annoying the last 2 years of my life has been. For two years, Ive been working with a slight abdominal tear, a genetic defect that I was actually born with. Even though we torture ourselves every night in that ring for each of your guys entertainment.. But dont get me wrong, we love it and chose to do it. The tear hasnt been anything that has really over-affected me performance-wise.. Until.. My appendectomy. From when I returned in April 2008, my abdominal tear became gradually worse. I was having a U.S. Title run I was very proud of.. So I sucked it up! I became the ECW Champion, and was having one of the best runs of my career, and the abdominal injury really started bothering me.. So I sucked it up! I wanted to get it fixed before it got really bad.. BUT.. I had an issue with Jeff on TV which would ultimately lead us to wrestling one another at THE show of all shows, Wrestlemania. So I sucked it up and got through it! Basically, in a nutshell, my intestines were slowly tearing through my abdomen.. Which affected my training greatly, my in-ring work, and my physical appearance. My intestines were slowly swelling because they were all outta wack and protruding through my abdominal wall. But I sucked it up and gave everything I had. I havent been able to do a sit-up in two years. And as I totally expected, The lil wanna be cool guys that feel like bad-asses behind a keyboard LOVED to make comments about my weight gain because I was being lazy. Little did they know, or yet probably even care, that Ive stayed constantly frustrated that I was dealing with these serious complications. Honestly, I only care about the personal friends and family that I have, that know my true deal.. Its only their opinions I take serious and to heart. Anybody who writes about me, whether good or bad, but especially bad.. I couldnt care less. I just say thanks for keeping me in the news. The night in Green Bay, when Kofi gave me a cross body from the top rope, my intestines exploded out through my abdominal wall.. And not just in one spot, but in two spots. I had to have it fixed, or face major health problems.. Problems that could have killed me. So as always, I do whats good for me, my career, friends, and loved ones. Hateful, ignorant comments made on the world wide web certainly doesnt bothered me-but sometimes give me a good laugh.. And my world is a world those people will never experience. I can actually get into the shape I wanna be in now.. Very excited about that. Its sushi time peeps, Ill be back soon to blog for guys again. Be well, and until then..Quote of the day Everyones gathered to idolize me
Matt Hardy underwent his abdominal surgery on July 2nd, according to the UK Sun. Hes expected be out of action for eight-to-ten weeks.
Although Hardy hasnt specifically commented on the surgery, he updated his MySpace blog the day before the surgery, saying
Although Hardy has yet to comment specifically on the surgery, he did update his Myspace page the day before surgery: The Hurdle awaits. And Im ready to cross it, jump it, or plow over it. Either way, Im excited to enter into a new, better, chapter of my life and career. [..] Get ready, cause when I re-debut on Smackdown, nothings gonna stop me in the ring or in life.
This injury is a tough break for Hardy, as he had just made a full recovery from his broken hand.

Jeff Hardy was interviewed on Spain's Four Network to promote the WWE shows over there in September. He confirmed that he hasn't signed a contract extension and when asked if he would, he said: "I don't know... I am 31-years-old now, and I don't like making plans for the future. I can wrestle until I am 40, but I don't want to make plans, I don't like thinking about what could happen between now and the next five years."
On his health after a recent string of brutal matches, he said: "My shoulder is fine, but his finger still hurts. I am a lucky guy, I have good bones, it helps that the injuries are not serious."
He said his best friends in the locker room were Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho, and said if he could wrestle anyone he wants at Wrestlemania it would be Shawn Michaels. "He [Michaels] has inspired me a lot throughout the years and has proven to be one of the best wrestlers there is; for his technique, style, things he does. I take my hat off to him. He is the one who inspires me."

FRESNO, Calif. With Night of Champions just three weeks away and the sudden transformation of the Friday night roster, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long revealed two explosive main events, one for SmackDown and the other for the upcoming pay-per-view. However, it was Jeff Hardy that showed definitively that there is, in fact, an eye in team.
Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho def. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk & Jeff Hardy (Non-title) (VIDEO | PHOTOS) CM Punk denied any foul play in his championship match with Jeff Hardy at The Bash, claiming his eye injury caused him to accidentally kick the referee. He demanded an apology from The Charismatic Enigma for his post-match attack. Teddy Long emerged, swiftly creating a World Heavyweight Title rematch between Punk and Hardy at Night of Champions. Hardy then came to the squared-circle, making it clear that he does not believe Punks explanation. He did, however, offer an apology in advance for taking The Straightedge Superstar down at Night of Champions. (VIDEO | PHOTOS)(Match preview)
Later in the evening, the two reluctant Superstars joined forces to take on the new Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho. Twice in the course of the match, Hardy tried to tag Punk in. But, both times the champion appeared to be in pain, clutching his eye rather than accepting Hardys invitation into the squared-circle. Perhaps as a result of this, when Punk was stretching out to tag Hardy into the match later on, his Night of Champions Charismatic No. 1 Contender suddenly and deliberately clutched his eye in pain, falling from the ring apron, leaving his partner to face the music alone. Punk came back to hit the GTS on Jericho, not realizing that Edge had tagged into the match to blast him with the spear. Hardy soon revealed his Extreme, wide eyes to the WWE Universe, showing that he had in fact dished out some eye-popping retribution onto the World Champions plate.
Kane def. Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio (Non-title) (VIDEO | PHOTOS) Despite a tremendous effort by the new Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio, The Big Red Machine endured the 619 to reign supreme over the masked Superstar with the devastating chokeslam. After the match, with Kane poised to inflict additional punishment on his prey, The Great Khali who Kane attacked and cost a match against Dolph Ziggler at The Bash stormed to the ring with a steel chair and rage in his eyes. Kane uncharacteristically retreated into the crowd.
Melina & Maria def. WWE Womens Champion Michelle McCool & Layla (PHOTOS) After losing her Womens Championship to Michelle McCool at The Bash, Melina grabbed a small measure of payback. Michelle quickly tagged out to avoid battling the irate former champion, leaving Layla to endure full force of her authoritative wrath.
Dolph Ziggler def. R-Truth (PHOTOS) Fresh off his Bash win over The Punjabi Playboy, a smiling Ziggler proved victorious over R-Truth with a vicious neckbreaker.
Cryme Tyme def. David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd (PHOTOS) (WATCH "WORD UP!") Cryme Tyme stole some thunder from The Hart Dynastys SmackDown debut. As the referee was trying to maintain order on the other side of the ring, outside man JTG used the ropes to throw David Hart Smith off balance, setting Shad up to drive the Hart Dungeon-trained Superstar into the canvas for the win.
Finlay def. Ricky Ortiz (PHOTOS) Not responding favorably to Ortizs encouraging suggestion to smile and Rally up! before their match, The Belfast Bawler brought the definitive beat down to his towel-wielding adversary with the brutal Celtic Cross.
PWMania.com reader Paul sent the following last night:
It appears Edge may have injured his leg during his match with Jeff Hardy at tonights house show. After four or five minutes of drawing audience participation, including Edge pretending to slip off the ropes the two performers finally engaged in a collar and elbow tie up. Shortly after Edge charged Hardy into a corner of ring where Edge went down. Its unclear why he went down or what part of his leg was injured, but the match immediately stopped without any further interaction from the two wrestlers. Referee Charles Robinson threw up the X arm signal and the bell rang, awarding Jeff the victory due to Edge not being able to continue. There was a thought that this was a horribly booked work, but Edge even grabbed the mic and apologized to the crowd saying, Sorry. Apologizing, of course is not typical of a major heel. The match ended with almost no action what so ever and Edge needed assistance back to the locker room.
An interesting bit of info: This is the 3rd consecutive San Diego event where a superstar was injured.
-Edge, of course tonight -Evan Bourne injured his ankle at the 10/28 Smackdown taping, that was the Halloween edition of SD -Randy Orton broke his collar bone at the June 2008 Extreme Rules PPV in San Diego against HHH in a Last Man Standing match.
