WWE Champion Triple H & Jeff Hardy def. Montel Vontavious Porter & The Brian Kendrick
Maria & Brie Bella def. Natalya & Victoria
The Great Khali vs. Vladimir Kozlov (No Contest)
Chavo Guerrero def. Jimmy Wang Yang
Carlito & Primo def. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder (new WWE Tag Team Champions)

COLUMBUS, Ohio – To kick off SmackDown, fans at Ohio State University were treated to a blockbuster match-up that had all the makings for a main event that might normally cap off a night of action.

In an unlikely pairing, WWE Champion Triple H joined forces with his No Mercy opponent, Jeff Hardy, to take on Montel Vontavious Porter and The Brian Kendrick. Putting their differences aside, The Game and Hardy were able to earn a victory when The King of Kings nailed MVP with a Pedigree for the pinfall.

After the win, Hardy and Triple H shook hands. But at No Mercy, animosity will reign as championship gold is on the line. No Mercy preview …

    Kozlov still undefeated
Vladimir Kozlov had never encountered anyone like the 7-foot-3, 420-pound The Great Khali. In a clash of styles, the two beasts locked horns. But before a winner could be decided, Triple H rushed into the arena looking for some payback against the Moscow Mauler. Mayhem quickly ensued, as Khali and Kozlov attacked The Game. But No. 1 contender Hardy didn’t like what he saw and came to help even the odds.

    Death in the air
Fearful of what Undertaker might do to him again, Chavo Guerrero nervously entered into his match against Jimmy Wang Yang. Using a rolling wheel kick, Guerrero took down Yang to get the pinfall. But after the match, the house lights went out momentarily, sending Chavo into a panic. It was an ominous sign of things to come later in the night when Undertaker choked Chavo in GM Vickie Guerrero’s office, then suddenly appeared in the ring to decimate the GM with a hard-hitting Tombstone. The deadly maneuver left Guerrero on her back, with The Phenom hovering over her motionless body. (Watch | Photos)

    New WWE Tag Team Champions
The Family suffered another hit on the night, when Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder lost their WWE Tag Team Championship to the brothers from San Juan, Carlito & Primo. (Watch | Photos)

    Deadly duo
In what could possibly be the sexiest tag team in WWE, newcomer Brie Bella paired up with Maria to take on Victoria and Natalya. But Victoria quickly showed who was boss when she tossed the undefeated Bella from the top rope to the arena floor. The stunned brunette crawled under the ring, but emerged from under the apron with new vigor and attacked Victoria. Next, Bella tagged in Maria, who flung herself from the top rope and used a cross body to drive Victoria to the canvas and get the pinfall. (Photos)

    WWE's 1-2 Punch
In the last SmackDown before moving to MyNetwork TV on Oct. 3, Jesse & Festus brought their MyMoving Co. van into the arena to pick up a few items from under the ring. While packing their van, we got a glimpse of a bound-and-gagged Ryan Braddock and Kenny Dykstra in the back of the van. What other surprises are in store when SmackDown makes the move to MyNetwork TV?

Top TNA star out of action

Frankie Kazarian, also known as Kaz, underwent surgery to repair a torn triceps earlier this week. He is expected to be out for around four months. Kaz most recently was featured in TNA, but has been off TNA TV for a while and his bio was removed from the TNA website. It was rumored he would be returning as the Suicide character from the TNA Video Game, but that looks to be delayed as he recovers.

NEWS AND VIDEO FROM THURSDAY'S "iMPACT!" BROADCAST ON SPIKE TV

There are several major news items to report from Thursday's "iMPACT!" on SpikeTV as TNA Wrestling continues the road to the October 12 "Bound For Glory" Pay-Per-View epic event!

    - "The King Of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett opened up the broadcast by announcing that next week on iMPACT, wrestling icon Mick Foley will officially join Total Nonstop Action!

    - However, the other big news was that during the announcement, Jarrett was interrupted by Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, who talked so much trash that Jarrett finally agreed to face him in a match at Bound For Glory! Tune in to the next "iMPACT!" for more news on Jarrett's in-ring return on October 12 against Angle!

    - In tag team action, Matt Morgan and Abyss defeated The Rock N' Rave Infection. After the bout, Team 3D came out and hurled insults at Abyss and Morgan and challenged them to an open invitation Monster's Ball match at Bound For Glory. Abyss obviously wasn't happy about competing in the Monster's Ball bout.

    - In Knockouts action, Awesome Kong defeated newcomer Mercedes Steel. After the bout, Kong attempted to continue the punishment, but Raisha Saeed - or so we thought - attacked Kong! Saeed unmasked to reveal it was really Roxxi!

    - TNA World Tag team Champions Beer Money Inc. defeated The Latin American Xchange. As a result of the match stipulations, Hector Guerrero can no longer manage Homicide and Hernandez in TNA!

    - Sting gave an emotional in-ring speech, showing photos of the legends he's learned from in his career, including Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. Sting then showed a photo of Samoa Joe and said that Joe doesn't know how to be a proper World Champion!

    - Speaking of Samoa Joe, he defeated X Division Champion Sheik Abdul Bashir in a non-title match on the broadcast. After the bout, Joe had some choice words for Sting, who he will face in the main event at Bound For Glory. As a show of disrespect, Joe continued to beat on Bashir - resulting in the referee reversing the decision and giving the win to the X Champion!

    - In the broadcast main event, Booker T defeated AJ Styles after smashing AJ with the mysterious bag. Christian Cage tried to get involved to help AJ, but it only resulted in miscommunication between the two friends as AJ and Cage argued as the broadcast ended.

Latest on Batista taking time off

Latest on Batista taking time off
    Credit: Wrestling Observer

    - Batista did request to take some time off shortly after Wrestlemania 24, but was talked out of it due to a lack of depth on the WWE talent roster. Apparently Batista feels he will never return to his status three years ago when he was the hottest star in the company, and his program with Triple H was a box office success. Batista has also talked about trying his luck in Hollywood.

This week's RAW rating improves from last week
Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen This week's RAW rating improves from last week

    Credit: ProWrestling.net

WWE Monday Night RAW drew a 3.1 rating this week, up from the 2.6 the show drew last week. The first hour drew a 3.01, and the second hour drew a 3.09.

This Monday Night Football rating dropped from a 13.3 last week to an 8.9 this week, allowing for WWE to bounce back somewhat. Nevertheless, RAW’s numbers are still down compared to what the show had been doing before football season. Fall competition from the NFL is nothing new to WWE, and they haven’t suffered a ratings drop like last week’s since before the Attitude era.

MVP Wants To Wrestle The Rock

SmackDown superstar MVP did a Q&A with USA Today to promote WWE's move to MyNetworkTV next week. When asked what WWE superstar from the past or present that he'd like to wrestle, he said The Rock. He also said that while in prison several years ago, he learned to "believe in yourself because, prison is full of despair and hopelessness and its easy to give up on life."

    Finlay def. Bam Neely
Maryse def. Divas Champion Michelle McCool – Non-title
    Mike Knox def. Chase Stevens
John Morrison vs. The Miz – Double count-out

COLUMBUS, OH - After “The Dirt Sheet’s” John Morrison and The Miz (WATCH "The Dirt Sheet") were forced to battle each other until neither Superstar could answer the referee’s count on ECW on Sci Fi, the undefeated Ricky Ortiz emerged to leave them both in the dust. (WATCH ECW's QUICK CUT)

The fuse was lit early on when the “self-proclaimed” Chick Magnet and the Tuesday Night Delight emerged with tremendous criticism of ECW General Manager Theodore Long’s New Superstar Initiative, being particularly critical of Ortiz and fellow Initiative Superstar Evan Bourne. But, after proclaiming that either one of them could beat any other Superstar, Long thought it would be fitting that Miz and Morrison get in the ring against one another, with the winner facing Ortiz immediately afterward.

However, things never got that far. After Miz and Morrison grappled to an intense double count-out, leaving no opponent for Ortiz to face, the young Superstar refused to be denied. He emerged with gusto, splashing both of his potential adversaries and showing them just how tough Long’s new Superstars really are. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

Strong words from a strong man
Mark Henry appeared before the WWE Universe with some very strong words for ECW Champion Matt Hardy, reminding the WWE Universe that he has never been pinned by the reigning champion. But, can The World’s Strongest Man reverse the course of history and take back his gold at No Mercy? (Read more on this story...)

    Irish eyes are smashing
Chavo Guerrero was absent from ECW on Sci Fi after apparently being attacked by The Undertaker on SmackDown. But, Finlay showed little remorse, scoring a decisive victory over Bam Neely – thanks to the luck of the Irish and a little lively distraction by Hornswoggle. When Neely grabbed the Belfast Brawler’s offspring, Finlay demonstrated the full force of his shillelagh. (PHOTOS)

    All-American beat down
After being destroyed in a brutal match against the rough and ready Mike Knox, a nearly unconscious Chase Stevens was suddenly attacked by the “All-American American” Jack Swagger. But, when Tommy Dreamer rushed down to save Stevens from his smiling predator, Knox distracted the ECW Original long enough for Swagger to lay him out as well. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

    A stunning victory
In an aggressive, non-title match, Maryse stunned the Land of the Extreme by overcoming Divas Champion Michelle McCool with her devastating DDT.  Has Maryse earned herself another championship opportunity?

News on Rey Mysterio's future with WWE

News on Rey Mysterio's future with WWE

Rey Mysterio is said to be on the verge of signing a deal with WWE, or has already done so, reports prowrestling.NET. WWE offered him a five-deal deal, but Mysterio opted for three. Last week, one source described his signing as "imminent." Mysterio also had talks with the AAA promotion out of Mexico. They were offering him a three-movie deal as they had an idea to make Mysterio a modern day version of El Santo - who was a movie star in Mexico as well as a legendary wrestler. During negotiations, Mysterio told WWE officials that he wants to be considered for a movie role with WWE Films. WWE also has plans to release a Mysterio autobiography.

CM Punk def. World Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes
Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella def. Deuce in a non-title match
    Kane def. Evan Bourne
Kelly Kelly def. Women's Champion Beth Phoenix in a non-title match
The Miz & John Morrizon def. Cryme Tyme
World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, JBL & Lance Cade def. Shawn Michaels & Batista

CINCINNATI – Since July, General Manager Mike Adamle has been allowed to run Raw as he sees fit, but on Monday night, on Raw’s historic 800th episode, Shane McMahon made a surprise appearance, reversing one of Adamle’s decisions, and setting both the tone for the night and its main event: World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho & JBL vs. Shawn Michaels & Batista. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

The contest presaged two of the most anticipated matches of No Mercy: World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels in a Ladder Match for the title, and Batista vs. JBL with No. 1 contender status being bestowed upon the winner. However, as is typical of Jericho’s underhanded dealings, he convinced Adamle to exercise his authority and change the match set by Shane McMahon. The GM added the World Heavyweight Champion’s protégé, Lance Cade, as a third member of Jericho & JBL’s team, tilting things in their favor. Though Michaels is known for fighting back against incredible odds, it was just too much for him, as his former student, Cade, pinned him, winning the match. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

    Monster mash
Though Kane was already scheduled to face off against ECW’s Evan Bourne, that wasn’t enough for him, as he approached GM Adamle, stating that he also wanted to face Rey Mysterio, who had been aided by Bourne in past weeks to cut the Big Red Monster down to size. With Shane McMahon looking on, Adamle granted the 7-footer’s request, setting Rey Mysterio vs. Kane as another one of the scintillating matches at No Mercy.

Though “Air” Bourne’s high-flying maneuvers had taken out Kane in the past, this week they just weren’t enough. The Big Red Monster defeated the ECW Superstar, and continued to beat on him even after the bell rang. Kane’s No Mercy opponent, Rey Mysterio rushed to the ring to help Bourne, but even the Master of the 619 couldn’t put a stop to the Big Red Monster’s rampage. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

    Hit the Rhodes, Jack
While many Superstars are focused on No Mercy, some still have their minds set on Unforgiven. CM Punk had some words to share with Randy Orton because of the punt to the head he received courtesy of the Legend Killer, which ultimately caused him to lose the World Heavyweight Championship at Unforgiven. Despite the third-generation Superstar’s warning that anyone who touches him will be suspended by Mike Adamle’s decree, Punk hit the smug Orton anyway. Before the GM could suspend him though, Shane McMahon – the fourth-generation Superstar – “pulled rank” and reversed Adamle’s decision, then set a match between CM Punk and World Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes.

Punk was victorious in the match-up, but directly afterward, Rhodes’ second-generation allies, fellow World Tag Team Champion Ted DiBiase and Manu, rushed the ring with ill intent. Before much damage could be done however, Kofi Kingston joined the fray, and helped Punk chase their adversaries from the ring. (PHOTOS)

    Glam slam
Though he was still nursing an injured face and bruised pride after his confrontation with Batista last week, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella went on to defeat Deuce, continuing his not-yet-impressive five-week run holding the title. Before the match, however, Batista caught the Italian champion and his ladyfriend, Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, talking bad about him. Their loose lips would come back to haunt them later in the night, when The Glamazon took on Kelly Kelly. (PHOTOS)

In spite of the Women’s Champion’s superior strength, Kelly Kelly scored a pin due to a botched distraction from Santino. Looking to exact revenge, the combined “Glamarella” were about to brutalize Kelly after the match when Batista himself ran in, spearing the Intercontinental Champion and defending the Diva.

    Hard Tyme
In one of Raw’s two tag team match-ups, Cryme Tyme squared off against former WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison. The contest was a result of the two teams taking shots at one another in their WWE.com Exclusive web-shows: Cryme Tyme’s “Word Up” and “The Dirt Sheet” with Miz & Morrison. Though Shad & JTG had hoped to shut up the arrogant ECW Superstars, it was the Shaman of Sexy & the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” who stood tall, picking up the win. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

    Mr. (Im)Perfect
Continuing his habit of impersonating other WWE Superstars, Charlie Haas took the opportunity to pay tribute to one of his heroes, WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Perfect. In an attempt to replicate some of Curt Hennig’s famous athletic feats, Haas disguised himself as Mr. Perfect and played basketball, shot pool, danced, boxed and played air hockey … poorly.

The Undertaker injured further at Smackdown?

The Undertaker injured further at Smackdown?

    source: prowrestling.NET

According to a fan in attendance at last night's SmackDown tapings in Columbus, Ohio, Undertaker appeared to aggravate a knee injury during the dark match main event.

He was attacked by Curt Hawkins, Zach Ryder and Bam Neely during his match with Big Show, but eventually cleared the ring. He posed for the crowd and walked for a few minutes before momentarily sitting down on the ring steps before heading to the back.

"Honestly, he looked pretty bad off," the fan in attendance said. "He was sitting there like he was so exhausted he couldn't make it up the ramp. He finally walked up the ramp, but he was limping pretty badly. It wasn't a little limp, it was very noticeable."

Of course, he could be selling the injury, but he was playing to the crowd before sitting down.

As reported earlier, he recently had his knee checked by doctors and WWE has been limiting his involvement in the ring since his match with Edge at SummerSlam. Taker has been appearing on television in non-wrestling segments and has been working tag matches for the most part so that his partner could handle most of the work in the ring. Undertaker has been telling friends that his knee is still tender and that there is some soreness.

R-Truth def. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin – Non-title Match
Jeff Hardy def. The Brian Kendrick
The Great Khali def. Scotty Goldman
WWE Champion Triple H def. MVP – Non-title Match

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vladimir Kozlov’s demand for better competition has quickly snowballed into an eastern promise of destruction. Once again, his rage turned volatile, bringing unsuspected carnage on both WWE Champion Triple H and No. 1 contender Jeff Hardy.

Just when it looked as if Ezekiel Jackson’s distracting presence would help provide The Brian Kendrick with another victory, Jeff Hardy suddenly countered for the win. But as The Legend Thriller showed his appreciation to the WWE Universe, the Moscow Mauler emerged to deliver his explosive boot, dropping Hardy for the second week in a row. (WATCH) (PHOTOS)

Later in the evening, WWE Champion Triple H proved victorious in a hard fought non-title match with Montel Vontavious Porter. But, after The Game devalued the Ballin’ Superstar with his Pedigree, Kozlov emerged once more to attack the champion, slamming through The King of Kings with the force of a runaway Siberian Express. (WATCH) (PHOTOS)

Has the iron jaw of Vladimir Kozlov finally bitten off more competition then he can chew?

    Taunting a legend
SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero and Big Show spent their evening in jovial spirits, still relishing in their Unforgiven ambush as they waited for Undertaker’s arrival, claiming they would humble and break him. Chavo Guerrero even went so far as to act out a mock apology in full Deadman dress. But, the Mexican Warrior later paid for his impression, walking into the awaiting clutches of The Phenom.

My Movers Co. is packing up SmackDown
Jesse and Festus are so excited about SmackDown’s move to MyNetwork TV – Oct. 3 at 8/7 CT (1-2 PUNCH TO KICK OFF MOVE TO MYNETWORK TV) – that they continued to make themselves the exclusive moving company of WWE. After giving the packaging treatment to Kenny Dykstra last week, Festus elected to forgo his match with Ryan Braddock to allow time for he and Jesse to wrap the young Superstar to go. (WATCH) (PHOTOS)

Then, at the conclusion of Carlito’s Cabana, My Moving Co. went to work again. Carlito and Primo – Carlito’s brother and the talk show’s special guest - began to discuss the ease in which they won their premiere SmackDown match last week, a non-title contest against WWE Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder. When the champions arrived to dispute the claim that the Colons deserved to be the champions, they ended up agreeing to a WWE Tag Team Championship Match with the dynamic brothers next week. (PHOTOS)

When things became heated, Jesse & Festus arrived to bubble wrap the Cabana set, including Hawkins and Ryder, who Festus chased out of the arena with a palm tree.

    R-Title Opportunity?
R-Truth picked up his biggest victory to date over a stunned United States Champion Shelton Benjamin – applying a quick counter to a German suplex, allowing him to overcome The Gold Standard and remain undefeated since his debut in WWE. (PHOTOS)

    Michelle mashes Maryse
In an Unforgiven rematch for the gold, Divas Champion Michelle McCool (MICHELLE'S PHOTO GALLERY) once again silenced Maryse. (MARYSE'S PHOTO GALLERY) Being “the sexiest of the sexy” proved of no help once the ultra-athletic champion hit a devastating Wings of Love on Maryse. (WATCH) (PHOTOS)

    Stomping on the punch line
The Great Khali dominated Scotty Goldman, easily pinning the newcomer with one foot. Although Goldman enjoyed a good joke before the match at Khali’s expense, there was nothing funny about the beating the Punjabi Giant laid on his grinning opponent. (PHOTOS)

    And at the Helm
Gregory Helms reemerged to make a noticeable appearance on Friday night. He popped in with various comments throughout the night to talk about several of the Superstars. Curiosity is at a fever pitch as to when and if Helms will make his return to SmackDown.

    UPDATE OVER UNDERTAKER

News on Undertaker's current health issues

WWE has been restricting Undertaker's in-ring participation as of late due to soreness in his knee, reports www.prowrestling.NET. Taker had minor surgery on it during his layoff, but came back early for his match with Edge at SummerSlam. Since his return, he's been limited to tag matches for the most part to keep his workload light. Nonetheless, his knee is said to be improving and it's only a matter of time before he works more singles matches.

Details on the Jeff Hardy airport incident

Details on the Jeff Hardy airport incident

Tennessean.com has revealed details regarding Jeff Hardy's incident at a Nashville airport yesterday.

Hardy was denied boarding a Southwest Airline flight to his home in North Carolina after appearing intoxicated at the Nashville International Airport's Southwest gate, according to Southwest spokesman Chris Mainz.

An employee reported Hardy's suspicious behavior and he was denied entry to the flight. Hardy was not arrested and was offered to take a later flight.

"He was very cooperative and there was no altercation," Mainz said. "There was no need to get police."

Hardy declined the airline's offer and made other arrangements.

Former WWE star making a comeback

Former WWE star making a comeback

Former WWE star Damian Demento has announced in a blog post on his MySpace page that he's planning on returning to the ring.

Demento wrote: "At fifty years of age I decided to come out of retirement and get back into the ring. Not as Phillip Thies, but as a new Damian Demento. I'm designing an outfit that will incorporate some aspects of the old gimmick and mix in a more contemporary Gothic style. Because I don't trust anybody currently involved in wrestling, I'll only book a good friend of mine to work with on Indy shows. And yes, I'll use the Damian Demento name. If after 16 years the WWE wants to ridicule me in their magazine, I'm using the name. Let's see if they come after me with their building full of lawyers in Stamford Connecticut."

Apparently his ring name will be "The New Damian Demento." Demento wrote: "Now, to answer those who may think I'm too old to make a comeback. For the next three months I will do whatever I have to do to increase muscle mass, lower body fat, and improve my endurance. AND I MEAN WHATEVER I HAVE TO DO! You can read into that what you want. I will document the physical changes my body goes through with pictures and post them online so everybody can follow my progress. You will see for yourselves that I'm very serious about this next phase of my life. I already have several Indy promoters on the East Coast interested in booking "The New Damian Demento." But it gets even more interesting. Just wait until I release the type of matches I'll be performing. You may not believe what you'll hear."

Update on the Jeff Hardy incident

Update on the Jeff Hardy incident

    Credit: PWInsider.com

According to an eyewitness, there was an incident shortly before 11 AM Wednesday morning at the Nashville International Airport involving WWE star Jeff Hardy, who was removed from his flight heading to North Carolina. Hardy, who was traveling with Gregory Helms and his brother Matt, was taken off his flight flanked by several police officers.

"Hardy wasn't in handcuffs, but he was clearly being 'escorted', said an eyewitness who asked not to be identified. "They weren't touching him though, but they had him flanked. He was wearing the same clothes he left the building in Tuesday night. Once they got him off the plane they allowed him to use his phone, before leading him away."

There were conflicting stories floating around among WWE performers following Wednesday's incident. At this point we are still looking to confirm exactly what the reason was that Hardy was removed from the plane and we don't want to speculate any further beyond that.

We can confirm Hardy was removed from his scheduled flight after boarding the plane and that the story had made its way around Titan Tower, where there was concern about his standing with the company. The story was a big topic of conversation among WWE's workers yesterday as well.

    Cactus jack in TNA?

Cactus Jack to appear in TNA Wrestling?

    source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- During the latest edition of Legends Roundtable on WWE 24/7 featuring Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Tazz and Jim Ross, they talked about factions in professional wrestling. Foley brought up how his "Union" faction from back in 1999 (featuring Vince McMahon, Big Show, Test and Ken Shamrock) didn't work out too well. Foley said he can't use about five different variations of the term "Union" for legal reasons if he ever left WWE, which he found funny. He also said WWE owns the the rights to "Mankind," but he owns "Cactus Jack" - the persona he portrayed for a number of years before joining WWE. Considering that Foley owns the name, it opens up the opportunity for "Cactus Jack" to appear in TNA if they ever decide to go that route.
