Report by Jason Powell and ProWrestling.net

    TNA Impact 6/11/09
    From Orlando, Florida

The show opened with a video that focussed on Sting vs. Kurt Angle.

The title is "Foley Fires Up Founder".

    The opening video aired.

Mike Tenay and Don West introduced the show and hyped "pay-per-view quality matches." They hyped Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner and Booker T in a first blood match, and Angle vs. Sting.

Mick Foley walked to the ring with the TNA Title draped over his shoulder. Tenay said Foley's fingerprints are all over the show. The artists formerly known as the Main Event Mafia security accompanied Foley to the ring. They were still wearing their MEM shirts. Foley was wearing a Jeff Jarrett t-shirt.

Foley said he knew there would come a day when the TNA Title would be taken away from him. However, he said Jarrett has taken away something from him he thought he'd have forever - his smile. Foley called out Jarrett "for a hard decision." Jarrett's music played and he headed out to the ring.

Foley said he wears Jarrett's t-shirt as a sign of respect for him as a man and what he's done with TNA for the wrestling business. He said that makes his decision even tougher. Foley said he tried to give Jarrett a second chance, but then he assaulted a referee "and a senior citizen" in referee Earl Hebner.

Mick announced that Jarrett was fined and suspended without pay from TNA. West said Jarrett was getting off easy. Jarrett said he wouldn't just stand there and let Foley make a mockery of him and the entire company. "Mick, your comedy act is over right now," Jarrett said. Jarrett started to leave the ring, but Foley called him back.

Foley impersonated the Three Stooges and then got intense. He reamed out Jeff for punching Hebner. Foley said it was time for Jarrett to pay the band. Jarrett said Foley has gone way too far. Mick said it was Jeff who went too far. Foley said they could do it the easy way or the hard way, but either way he was removing Jarrett from TNA.

"Well, Mick, it looks like we're gonna have to do this the hard way," Jarrett said. He wound up to punch Jarrett, but the security guards attacked him. The security crew roughed up Jeff with repeated punches while Foley backed up the ramp and encouraged them over the mic. Jarrett finally came back with a double clothesline and then hit them both with chairshots. West said Jarrett was out of control and crazy.

Foley stood on the ramp and shook his head. "You've left me no choice, Jeff," Foley said. "Once I regain my composure, I will singlehandedly throw you out of the Impact Zone." Jarrett said down on the chair and motioned for Foley to come get some. Foley made the same gesture back to Jarrett.

Backstage, Lauren interviewed Team 3D. They spoke about The British Invasion. Devon said that if you draw first blood with Team 3D, you'll drown in your own blood. Lauren looked off camera. Brother Ray acknowledged that Raven was sitting on the floor. He said Lauren should be worried about Raven because he's crazy, but he wouldn't do anything then. Team 3D hyped their title match with Beer Money. After they walked away, Lauren ran away in fear of Raven, who was still sitting there.

Backstage, Borash interviewed Jarrett, who said he's apologized to Hebner repeatedly for losing his temper and striking him last week. Jarrett said he's human and made a mistake. Jarrett said that he was going to leave on his own accord until Foley vowed to remove him from the building. "I'm here, I'm waiting, let's see you do it, big boy," Jarrett said.

    1. Alex Shelley and Jay Lethal (w/Chris Sabin, Consequences Creed) beat Team 3D in a non-title match in 7:40. Lethal came out in the old school Macho Man trunks with the sparkly robe. West heeled it up by defending the British Invasion by saying they're not doing anything Team 3D hasn't done in the past. West turned his attention to Suicide by saying he doesn't care who it is as long as it doesn't turn out to be Glenn Gilbertti. Late in the match, Sabin and Creed ran in just to get bumped by Brother Ray. Later, the British Invasion ran out, but Team 3D roughed them up. Doug Williams got loose and hit Devon from behind with the briefcase, which enabled Shelley and Lethal to get the win. Tenay questioned where Beer Money was at when they should have been helping Team 3D.

Backstage, Foley rallied his security forces. He had the Mafia Security guys and a slew of TNA security. He told them all that Jarrett could be armed and dangerous.

    -commercial-

Backstage, Foley and his posse tracked down Jarrett, who pointed out that Foley claimed he was going to do it singlehandedly. Foley clowned around and told jokes. Mick asked Jarrett to walk away before he got hurt. Jarrett said he'd leave before he did something he'd regret. Jarrett said Foley should reevaluate his position in TNA before he finds out what his real role is. After Jarrett walked away, Foley said he knows his role and it's the World Hvt. Champion.

Tenay and West hyped Tara vs. Madison Rayne, Shane Douglas vs. A.J. Styles, the first blood match, and the Sting vs. Angle main event.

Backstage, Borash interviewed Booker T and Scott Steiner. Booker was over the top, Steiner said he'd break Joe's legs and then make him bleed.

    -commercial-

    2. Samoa Joe defeated Scott Steiner and Booker T in a Nation of Violence first blood match in 11:50. West pointed out that Joe had to make Booker and Steiner bleed. Steiner worked against Joe to start the match. The referee walked around with a white towel and dabbed the heads of the wrestlers to see if they were bleeding. West said he's interviewing Joe next week and vowed to find out who his advisor is.

Steiner grabbed a pipe from underneath the ring, but Joe cut him off. Joe put a trash can over Steiner head and then hit it repeatedly with the pipe. Steiner was bleeding when the ref took the can off his head at 4:30. He was noticeably bleeding, but the referee still dabbed his head with the towel.

With Steiner eliminated, Booker's music played and he came out with Sharmell. She kissed Booker on the stage and stayed there. The show cut to commercial while Booker made his entrance.

    -commercial-

Back from the break, Booker and Joe were already fighting at ringside. Joe eventually picked up the pipe and nailed Booker in the gut. The announcers said the blow could cost internal bleeding. The referee dabbed the towel on Booker's mouth and he was bleeding, so that ended the match.

    -commercial-

The announcers recapped the Joe match.

Backstage, Lauren stood by as Sting, Kurt Angle, and trainers tended to Booker and Steiner. There was a bunch of commotion and she promised updates. The camera pulled back and showed Raven sitting on the floor in the background.

    3. A.J. Styles defeated Shane Douglas in a non-title match in 5:10. Shane worked the match wearing long trunks and a black t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. They ended up fighting at ringside when Styles dove onto Douglas. A.J. came up limping. He rammed Douglas into the ring post. The announcers spoke about how an ankle injury could limit Styles more than anyone in TNA because of his in-ring style.

Styles hit the Pele Kick at 4:30 and went for the cover, but Douglas got a foot on the ropes. A short time later, Styles rolled Douglas into an armbar. Douglas tapped out immediately. West said Shane hasn't been in the ring in three years so you wouldn't expect to see him beat Styles.

After the match, Douglas attacked Styles from behind. Daniels ran out and hit Shane with a series of punches and kicks. Shane picked up his towel and hit Daniels. He revealed a pair of handcuffs were wrapped in the towel. He handcuffed Daniels to the ropes and took a few shots. Samoa Joe ran out and Shane fled.

    A Slammiversary pay-per-view video aired.

Backstage, Lauren was on a cell phone running in fear while the camera followed her. She ran inside the women's bathroom. Raven showed up and took a seat outside the door. Screams could be heard coming from inside the room. Still, Raven sat expressionless and even looked at his hand. Daffney left the room and Lauren could be seen laid out on the floor.

    -commercial-

Tenay set up a shot of Taylor Wilde searching for Daffney backstage. She ran after her with a lead pipe while Raven and Stevie Richards sat on the floor. Daffney got the better of the exchange and was screaming while she roughed up Taylor. Stevie stood up and stopped her. "I'm sorry, Taylor, but that's all the time we have for this week," Stevie said in a calm voice. Stevie and Daffney walked away together while Raven sat on the floor admiring his cuticles.

Backstage, Angelina Love complained to Borash that the Beautiful People set was missing. Taylor Wilde did a funny bit about Borash using "the noun lovely" to describe Tara. Madison Rayne snuck in a comment at the end to hype her match with Tara.

    -commercial-

The latest training video with ODB and Cody Deaner aired.

Backstage, Borash interviewed Angle, who put over Joe for doing what he said by taking out Nash, Steiner, and Booker. He said it was down to him and Joe, and he told Joe to bring it. Angle headed into his locker room and slammed the door. Borash asked about Angle's match with Sting through the door.

Ring introductions for the Tara vs. Madison Rayne match took place.

    4. Tara beat Madison Rayne (w/Angelina Love, Velvet Sky) in 4:15. Rayne bailed to ringside where Love and Sky comforted her. Tara (a/k/a Victoria) grabbed the ropes and kicked her into her partners. Rayne scored a near fall with a neckbreaker and got in a minute of offense. Later, Tara jiggled and played to the crowd before hitting a standing moonsault for a near fall. She came back with the Widow's Peak and scored the clean pin.

Backstage, Eric Young complained to Jeremy Borash that everyone is taking advantage of him. Borash said Young needs to stop feeling sorry for himself. Young slapped him across the face and Borash fell to the ground to sell it.

    -commercial-

Backstage, SoCal Val debuted as an interviewer. Daniels cut her off and intensely stated that he'd give Shane Douglas his roster spot if he can beat him at the pay-per-view. Daniels said Douglas had to get his "ratty ass out of my company" if he lost the match.

    5. Kurt Angle pinned Sting in a King of Mountain qualifier in 16:55. After a couple minutes of back and forth action, the show cut to commercial.

    -commercial-

Angle took control of the match and maintained it when they went to yet another commercial.

    -commercial-

After the break, Sting came back with a couple of Stinger Splashes and a suplex for a near fall.

Later, Matt Morgan ran out and bickered with the referee while Sting was pinning Angle. Sting turned his attention to Morgan, who dropped off the apron. He popped back onto the apron a few seconds later and clotheslined Sting from behind while the ref was focused on Angle. Kurt hit the Angle Slam and scored the pin.

After the match, Morgan clapped for Angle and entered the ring. Angle figured out what happened and shoved Morgan, who shoved him back and knocked him down in the process. Several referees entered the ring to separate the two as the show closed...

Vickie Guerrero sluit terugkeer niet uit

Vickie Guerrero leaving the door open for return?

The owner of a Vickie Guerrero fansite, www.Vickie-Guerrero.com, has direct contact with Vickie herself. According to a post on the website, the site owner personally asked Vickie if she sees herself returning to WWE in some capacity one day. Given her response, it would appear that she has left the door open for a return down the line. Here is what Vickie said:

    "Knowing WWE...probably."

Vickie also hopes Mary Anne, the owner of the website, leaves the site open so she can keep in contact with her on a personal level.

Vickie handed in her notice to the company a few weeks ago in order to spend more time with her daughters.

    Orton verantwoordelijk voor terugkeer Masters

Orton responsible for Masters' return to WWE?

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

According to Dave Meltzer, Chris Masters had a meeting with Vince McMahon in Los Angeles at the tapings and was recommended by Randy Orton to be brought back.

Masters was fired in late 2007 on his second strike instead of his third strike, when at first he was being suspended for 60 days based on first, the Signature Pharmacy case, and shortly after his return, failing a drug test. Several months earlier he had a stint in rehab for an issue with prescription painkillers, but that does not count as a strike in the Wellness program because there was no test failure associated with him being sent to rehab.

Reden waarom wwe zolang wachte voor het bekendmaakte waarom ie ontslagen werd

Reason why WWE waited on Umaga announcement

The Sun out of the United Kingdom has published an article on WWE confirming that Umaga was released from WWE due to his second Wellness Policy violation and his unwillingness to attend a rehabilitation facility. The article states that the company waited on announcing the drug test failure due to the unusual nature of the termination. WWE officials had to review the policy since he didn’t fall foul of the 'three strikes and you're out' rule.

    UPDATE KANE

Latest news on Kane's status with WWE

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

As noted before, the WWE creative team didn’t have much for Kane which is why he hasn’t been on TV lately. Word going around is that Kane also wanted to take some time off to let various injuries heal up. He’s had problems with his knees and wanted some time to heal rather than keep working until surgery would be necessary. There’s no date right now on when Kane will return. Kane is considered one of the company’s real life success stories as he’s made good money, hasn’t lived a high lifestyle, is still in good shape and has saved money. Kane is said to be one of the few guys who will make his own decision when his career ends and not have finances control the end of his career or have WWE want to get rid of him for being a problem.

    umaga4.jpg image by keonchapman
WWE announces why Umaga was released

WWE.com posted the following this morning regarding the release of Umaga earlier this week:

As reported on WWE.com on Monday, June 8, 2009, WWE Superstar Umaga (Edward Fatu) has been released from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract.

However, consistent with the practice of announcing wellness policy violations, it should be noted that Umaga's termination was due to his second violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.

TARA (Victoria) PRAAT OVER WAAROM ZE BIJ WWE IS WEGGEGAAN

Victoria talks about why she left WWE

Former WWE Diva Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria) posted a new blog on her MySpace page where she talks about her reasons for leaving WWE. Here’s what she wrote:

“A few people have asked me why I chose to go to TNA. Not nearly as many as have suggested that I go to TNA over the past couple years, but it has been been asked. Before I can answer that, I have to address why I left WWE. I left because I didn’t enjoy my role, and I didn’t see it changing. That, in addition to the brutal travel schedule, made it an easy choice for me to walk away and leave the opportunity available to one of the scores of female wrestlers who were anxiously awaiting their chance.

TNA approached me with the offer to come to their organization, work a less rigorous schedule, and more importantly, wrestle to the best of my ability with no limitations.

Several people have debated whether this will effect my chance at one day being elected into the WWE Hall of Fame. I am flattered at my name even being mentioned with such an honor. And whether or not you believe that I am worthy, I really don’t think that WWE will hold it against me for doing other things after I left. I truly believe that I gave 100% every day with WWE, and that I went above and beyond what was expected of me. I think that if I am happy with my choices, then they are happy for me. Of course they took me off their website. They can’t promote talent with another organization. But again, I’d like to think that on a personal level, they are happy for me.

The only serious considerations I had were 1) Would I still be able to train for MMA? 2) Do I miss wrestling and want to do it on a regular basis? 3) Can I entertain TNA fans in a way that they deserve to be entertained?

I believe so to all three. I still have time to dedicate to MMA. I definitely miss wrestling. And my goal is not only to be the best in a very tough Knockout division, but to elevate the performance of the entire division.

Thursday night on TNA Impact on SpikeTV I have my first match in about five months, and my first in a six sided ring. For those who haven’t seen TNA recently, I think you should tune in. Because for those of you who do, you’ll see a female wrestler in the best shape of her life, at the top of her game, beginning a new journey.

    Buckle up, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride… “

Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes def. Nikki & Brie Bella
    Evan Bourne def. Zack Ryder
Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho def. John Morrison

This week on “WWE Superstars” on WGN America, four of the hottest Divas and four of the toughest Superstars found themselves doing battle. With the new, nine-time Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho taking on The Shaman of Sexy John Morrison, Evan “Air” Bourne facing off against Zack Ryder and Brie & Nikki Bella in Diva tag team action against Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes, it was certainly a night of hard-hitting action.

Don’t know where to catch “WWE Superstars”? Find WGN America in your area. Can't see “WWE Superstars” on WGN America in your area? Stay with WWE.com for full results, photos and video clips of all the action.

Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes def. Brie & Nikki Bella (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Sexy, smart and powerful defines WWE’s Divas, and these four women are no exception. The Bella Twins put on an impressive display of tag team work as the ladies controlled Rosa Mendes in the ring. However, as soon as the dominant Beth Phoenix got the tag, things suddenly took a turn for the worse. The Glamazon used her awesome power to hold the twins at bay, but it was the guts of Nikki that put the beautiful twins back on track. Nikki hit the former Women’s Champion with a facebuster, seemingly having Phoenix under wraps. As the Divas know, one can never count Beth Phoenix out. A skirmish outside the ring between Brie and Phoenix’s assistant-turned-protégé Rosa gave The Glamazon just the opening she needed, catching Nikki off-guard with a devastating Glam Slam and getting the three-count.

Evan Bourne def. Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In a match between two of ECW’s youngest and brightest Superstars, there was no telling what might happen Thursday night. Quickly after the match got underway, Zack Ryder smartly attempted to ground Evan Bourne and focus on the ribs that were injured at the hands of Mark Henry on ECW this week. Though, as many of his friends and foes alike could tell you, “Air” Bourne isn’t going to stay down for long and brought out all the stops to floor Ryder. After regaining control and giving a few “woo woo woo’s” to our fans, the obnoxious Long Islander seemed to have Bourne right where he wanted him, planning a high-impact maneuver off the top rope, but that decision proved to be his downfall. Feeling at home on top of the turnbuckle, Bourne sent Ryder falling hard on his back and followed up with a death-defying Shooting Star Press and the pin. Victorious just days after a vicious beating at the hands of Mark Henry, “Air” Bourne certainly sent a message to The World’s Strongest Man that he won’t go down without a fight.

Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho def. John Morrison (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Just days after unmasking Rey Mysterio and beginning an unfathomable ninth Intercontinental Championship reign at Extreme Rules, Chris Jericho returned to Thursday nights to once again prove why “WWE Superstars” is “his show.” Thankfully, The Friday Night Delight John Morrison came one night early to save the WWE Universe from having to sit through another one of Jericho’s long-winded tirades. It seemed as though The Shaman of Sexy had the abrasive Superstar’s number as well, with Morrison countering all the Codebreakers, Lionsaults & Walls of Jericho the Intercontinental Champion could throw at him. In the end, however, it was a simple miscalculation and a handful of tights that gave the first-ever Undisputed Champion the victory, sneaking away with a win against Morrison. Although he lost this time, The Shaman of Sexy proved once again why he is one of the fastest-rising Superstars on SmackDown and throughout the entire WWE.

    UPDATE OVER REY

More on the Rey Mysterio leaving WWE rumors

On Wednesday, a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that a topic of discussion backstage at RAW this week was the rumor that Rey Mysterio had given his notice to quit WWE. The rumor, though never reported as anything but such, relied on the fact that Mysterio did not work this week's television as evidence of its possible validity.

PWInsider.com, however, reports that Mysterio had already planned to miss this week's tapings to rest his knee which has been bothering him as of late. WWE appears to have no intention of abandoning his program with Chris Jericho, with sources believing that Mysterio is indeed staying with the company.

While the Mysterio rumor was a big part of locker room discussion Monday, it appears his fans can breathe easily for the time being.

    UPDATE OVER ONTSLAG UMAGA

More details on Umaga's release from WWE

    Credit: PWInsider.com

To follow up on the surprising story from yesterday that Umaga had been released from his WWE contract, PWInsider.com reports that WWE sources say it was “a situation where he just had to be let go.” What that quote means is anyone’s guess because the sources didn‘t specify, but there have apparently been behavior-related issues with Umaga in the past.

Umaga is telling people he left under his own free will, and while that could be true, it seems unlikely as he just made his return and worked hard to come back.

According to Bryan Alvarez, Tommy Dreamer has signed a new contract with WWE following the Extreme Rules PPV. It is rumored that he signed a three to five year deal. As it turns out, him telling people over the weekend that he was leaving was a swerve. With his other options, the feeling is that he made the right decision to stay with the company and could eventually be offered some kind of agent deal by WWE when he is retired from wrestling.

Hernandez is klaar om terug te keren

Injured TNA star set to make his return

Jeremy Borash just issued the following over on his official Twitter page (@JeremyBorash) regarding the return of TNA star Hernandez:

"Today doctors cleared Shawn Hernandez of L.A.X. to return to the ring. He recently underwent successful neck surgery. That's great news."

This is a very quick turnaround from what had been reported earlier as estimates had him out around even four to six months.

Vladmir Kozlov def. two local competitors (2-on-1 Handicap Match)
The Hart Dynasty  def. Christian & Jack Swagger

New ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer’s contract signing was marred by scandal on Tuesday night. But the ECW Original returned to make a bold statement just days before he’ll defend the Extreme Title on Raw’s 3-For-All Monday.

Two former Extreme Champions, Jack Swagger and Christian, interrupted ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer’s moment in the spotlight Tuesday night, as Swagger demanded the ECW Original be stripped of his title and Christian insisted on a rematch. Before Dreamer could ink his ECW deal, he and Captain Charisma quieted “The All-American American” by tossing him out of the ring. But after Dreamer signed his way back into ECW, Christian threw him into the table in the ring, and their main event tag team match against The Hart Dynasty was nixed. Instead, ECW’s interim General Manager, Tiffany, told Christian he’d have to team with Swagger instead. (WATCH: CONTRACT SIGNING | WATCH: DREAMER WINS AT EXTREME RULES)

Christian & Swagger were unable to put their differences aside when they faced The Hart Dynasty on Tuesday night. While Natalya distracted the referee, “The All-American American” stopped his tag team partner from hitting the Killswitch on Tyson Kidd, pulling him into the top rope, allowing The Hart Dynasty to hit The Hart Attack. Then, David Hart Smith pinned Captain Charisma for the victory. As The Hart Dynasty and Swagger brutally attacked Christian after the match, ECW Champion Dreamer ran into the ring. The ECW Original stopped the attack on Christian, by assaulting Swagger with a Singapore Cane, while Kidd, Hart Smith & Natalya retreated up the ring before Dreamer could get to them, too.

Dreamer will defend the ECW Championship against Christian on Monday’s three-hour Raw 3-For-All. Will Christian reclaim the title, causing Dreamer’s time as Extreme Champion to be short- lived? Or will the ECW Original continue to hold ECW gold? Watch Raw Monday at its special start time of 8/7 CT on USA Network.

Evan Bourne def. WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Evan “Air” Bourne beat the odds by defeating Mark Henry two weeks in a row on ECW, but WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas was determined to prove to The World’s Strongest Man that he could crush the high-flying Superstar. This week, Bourne pinned Atlas after another amazing Shooting Star Press, angering Henry even more. Bourne’s victory celebration was cut short when Henry attacked Bourne, laying him out with a World’s Strongest Slam. Has Henry gotten the last laugh on Bourne? Or will Bourne return to continue to defeat The World’s Strongest Man and his associate?

Vladmir Kozlov def. two local competitors (2-on-1 Handicap Match) (PHOTOS)
The Moscow Mauler returned to action on ECW Tuesday night, once again defeating two local competitors in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Kozlov has been unstoppable since arriving in the Land of the Extreme. Who will dare to face this dominant force next?

Rob Van Dam was a guest on The LAW Sunday night with Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski and Jason Agnew on Sirius 98 Hardcore Sports Radio. During the interview, Van Dam talked about a number of topics, including RVD TV, Chris Masters returning to WWE, Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW title and more.

While he did talk about enjoying his time away from the wrestling business, it's interesting to note that during the interview, he revealed that TNA Wrestling has been in "constant contact" with him as recently as this past week.

TNA TOONT INTRESE VOOR KENNEDY EN UMAGA

As of right now, sources within TNA claim that the company is interested in both Mr. Kennedy and Umaga. One member of upper management sees dollar signs in a program with Umaga and Samoa Joe.

Kennedy and Umaga's 90-day no-compete clauses with WWE will be expiring just a couple weeks apart from each other late in the summer.
