TNA TOONT INTRESE VOOR KENNEDY EN UMAGA

As of right now, sources within TNA claim that the company is interested in both Mr. Kennedy and Umaga. One member of upper management sees dollar signs in a program with Umaga and Samoa Joe.

Kennedy and Umaga's 90-day no-compete clauses with WWE will be expiring just a couple weeks apart from each other late in the summer.

LAFAYETTE, La. – Though Batista defeated him for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton was positive he’d once against hold the title after he and his Legacy brutally assaulted The Animal at the top of the show. However, as The Viper waited for their rematch to be ruled a forfeit, he was confronted by a whole different type of animal: A furious, returning Triple H.

Triple H returned, attacking The Legacy and causing WWE Champion Batista vs. Randy Orton to end in a no contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Flanked by his Legacy, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton took to the ring to invoke his rematch clause against WWE Champion Batista. Earlier in the night, the multi-generational Superstars attacked The Animal, injuring him so severely that he was taken from the arena in an ambulance, making his participation in a match unlikely. As The Viper waited for the count of 10 (at which point he would have won the WWE Title by forfeit), an ambulance approached the Cajun Dome. But the Superstar who emerged from the emergency vehicle may have been the last person Orton expected: Triple H.

The Game rushed to the ring with his signature sledgehammer, taking out Rhodes & DiBiase before turning his focus to his long-time nemesis. Triple H then brutally assaulted Orton with chairs, monitors and a thunderous Pedigree onto a waiting steel chair.

Perhaps taking a lesson from their mentor, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase have become intent on winning some gold of their own, specifically the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. On Raw, they faced off against the present titleholders Carlito & Primo. Though the gold wasn’t on the line in this match, at stake was a future title opportunity if Rhodes & DiBiase could defeat their opponents. The Legacy showed their dominance as DiBiase pinned Primo, ensuring that the two tag teams would meet again in the near future.

Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero quit and Edge reiterated the he would be divorcing her
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Referencing Randy Orton’s upcoming rematch, Vickie Guerrero stated that making the WWE fans happy was the last thing on her mind. The Raw General Manager went on to berate the WWE Universe for not showing her sympathy after her loss to Santina Marella in a Hog Pen Match at Extreme Rules. Refusing to be humiliated anymore, Guerrero then quit her job as GM.

After her shocking announcement, she was joined in the ring by her estranged husband, Edge. The Rated-R Superstar reiterated his feelings from the night before, announcing that he plans to divorce Guerrero and adding that the only reason he married her was to use her power. After The Master Manipulator left his soon-to-be ex-wife, Vickie Guerrero broke down screaming in the middle of the ring.

    MVP def. Matt Hardy (PHOTOS)
MVP came to the ring declaring that he wants to be considered for the impending WWE Championship match on next week’s first-ever WWE 3-For-All, a special three-hour Raw featuring all three WWE brands with a World Championship Match from each. The Franchise Playa went on to prove he deserves a title match by defeating the nefarious Matt Hardy by pinfall.

John Cena vs. The Miz ended in a no contest (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Ever since coming to Raw in the 2009 WWE Draft, The Miz has been a perpetual annoyance to John Cena (as well as the WWE Universe). The self-proclaimed “chick magnet” has subjected his would-be rival to an endless stream of taunts, threats and insults, while spuriously claiming victories over the former World Heavyweight Champion. But when Cena finally had an opportunity to shut The Miz up, they were interrupted by Big Show, before the match could even begin.

The World’s Largest Athlete, bitter over his loss to Cena at Extreme Rules, attacked, chokeslamming Cena and placing him in the dreaded Cobra Clutch Backbreaker. As the former World Heavyweight Champion struggled to break out of the hold, The Miz struck, clobbering Big Show with a steel chair before doling out the same treatment to Cena.

Santino Marella, Goldust & Festus def. Chavo Guerrero, The Brian Kendrick & Jamie Noble (PHOTOS)
In a tag team match featuring some of WWE’s most colorful Superstars, the team of Santino Marella, Goldust & Festus took on Chavo Guerrero, The Brian Kendrick & Jamie Noble. The combined talent and wrestling know-how of Guerrero, Kendrick & Noble just wasn’t enough to propel them to victory, however, as Marella pinned Noble for the win.

Divas Champion Maryse def. Kelly Kelly
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Two weeks ago on Raw, Kelly Kelly defeated Maryse in a battle for the Divas Championship, but as the win came by disqualification, she was unable to obtain the title. The sexy, smart and powerful Kelly got another chance though as she took on Maryse once again, with Mickie James sitting at ringside to provide additional commentary. As the fan-favorite Mickie gave her opinion on both competitors, the Divas Champion defeated her opponent, ensuring that the coveted title will continue to belong to her. Following the match, Maryse added insult to injury by slapping Kelly, but was quick to retreat when Mickie entered the ring.

United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. William Regal; Randy Orton invoked his rematch clause after WWE Champion Batista was taken away in an ambulance (PHOTOS)
As William Regal made his way to the ring to take on United States Champion Kofi Kingston in this non-title match, he explained why he should be the one to represent the United States, in a typically offensive and degrading fashion. In spite of his arguments, however, The Jamaican Superstar showed why the title really belongs around his waist by promptly dispatching the arrogant British Brawler.

Prior to Kingston’s match against the devious Regal, the WWE Universe learned that WWE Champion Batista had been taken away from the Cajun Dome in an ambulance due to injuries sustained in The Legacy’s attack on The Animal. This made Orton’s words in the locker room area that much more distressing, as he announced that he was going to be invoking his rematch clause later in the night, and if Batista failed to show, The Viper would win the WWE title by forfeit.

Randy Orton and The Legacy brutally assaulted WWE Champion Batista and took his title
    (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Addressing a joyous WWE Universe for the first time since winning the WWE Title, Batista opened Raw by addressing his mentor, Hall of Famer Ric Flair. As The Animal explained that he won his first-ever WWE Championship for ‘Naitch, himself and all the WWE fans who were sick of Randy Orton, he was interrupted by The Viper himself. Without saying a word, Orton and his minions, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, assaulted the WWE Champion, overcoming him with their superior numbers and focusing on The Animal's left arm - even going so far as to lock it into a steel chair. The attack was brutal, necessitating that medical personnel rush to Batista’s side as The Legend Killer made off with his rival’s WWE Title.

According to Dave Meltzer. Umaga is telling people that he quit WWE. However, there is a lot of speculation that his release had something to do with the Wellness Policy.

In what might be related news, the WWE's creative team was told not to write in several names for next week's three-hour RAW. It's quite possible that there will be more suspensions so stay tuned as this could end up being a very interesting week in WWE.

Batista updates: His injury, backstage reputation

Batista updates: His injury, backstage reputation

    - On this morning's Wrestling Observer radio show, host Bryan Alvarez commented on Batista's latest injury, stating that there may be more to the situation than what has been reported. He speculated that, "Someting occured, it just may not have been a muscle tear issue." We'll see if there's anything to this in the coming days.

    - Ken Anderson, formerly Mr. Kennedy in WWE, posted a message on his Twitter page addressing reports that Batista has torn his biceps muscle and will require surgery. Kennedy wrote, "I know everyone's saying stuff about Batista, but I gotta say that he's one of the best guys in the locker room. No ego, always trying to help."

Big update on the status of Dreamer

Big update on the status of Dreamer

Bill Behrens reports that ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer didn't signed a full multi-year contract renewals with WWE but both did sign short extensions a while ago when his contract were near the end date.

According to Behrens, Dreamer signed his extension several months ago. It’s unknown if either of them will end up signing full multi-year renewals.

There are some people within TNA management that are pushing for Tommy Dreamer to come in. Dreamer has several friends in TNA and one top TNA star told Behrens that he thinks Dreamer should be brought in to freshen up the creative team. However, there are also a few people in TNA with “stroke” who are resistant to Dreamer coming in at all.

    Grote Kritiek op wwe diva

Candice Michelle recently wrote on her Twitter account that she expects to return to the ring this month. With that being said, there is a ton of heat on her right now similar to what just caused Vince McMahon to release Mr. Kennedy; the perception that she is often injured and a lousy worker.

One company source told The Sun: "She doesn't exactly help her cause when she's running around in LA hanging out at bars and going to Dodger games... What happened to rehab and getting back in shape? There are guys on our roster with far worse injuries sucking it up and still coming to work."

On the positive side, one of her biggest supporters in the company is said to be Stephanie McMahon.

    VICKIE GUERRERO VERLAAT WWE

As seen tonight on Raw, Vickie Guerrero announced she was resigning as the General Manager of Raw.

She is indeed being written off of television as she recently handed in her notice to the company in order to spend more time with her daughters.

It is not 100% certain that tonight was her swan song with the company as there is still a possibility she may appear at tomorrow night's SmackDown taping. Whatever the case may be, she's through with WWE

    Umaga ontslagen

On Sunday night, Umaga was involved in a leather strap match against CM Punk at the Extreme Rules pay per view.

Generally, WWE only gives a coveted pay per view spot to wrestlers that they deem are vital to the immediate success of their company.

That's why you rarely see guys like Jesse, Festus, Dolph Ziggler, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, etc. doing matches at pay per view.

Despite being defeated by CM Punk at the pay per view, Umaga was still viewed as being important to get a spot at Extreme Rules.

That was his position with the company on Sunday night.

On Monday, Umaga was without a job. WWE had released the Samoan star from his contract.

    Reason For Departure

When developmental wrestlers and lower card wrestlers get released, there aren't a lot of questions that are asked. Most wrestling fans generally assume that the release was simply because the company felt that the wrestlers aren't good enough.

Umaga is not a developmental wrestler. Nor is he a lower card wrestler. Umaga is classified as an upper midcard wrestler that can be elevated into the main event scene for a period of time.

So, now that he is released, he leaves behind a trail of questions as to why WWE decided to get rid of a guy that could have been used in the main event scene.

Umaga has violated the WWE drug policy before, so that can't be ruled out as a possible reason for his dismissal. He was one of the many wrestlers that received illegal drugs from an online pharmacy.

Like a lot of other WWE stars, injuries have become a factor for Umaga. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion has suffered from a variety of injuries (including a torn PCL) over the last few years.

There's also rumblings that Umaga has been dissatisfied with the way that the company has been using him. Word has it that he feels that he's stuck entirely in the midcard division.

    What's Next?

In a couple of months, Umaga will be free to work for another wrestling company if he chooses to go that route. The 14 year veteran does have outside business ventures, but there's no word on if the money that he makes from that is enough to sustain his livelihood.

Umaga is a good in-ring performer that also has name value because he's worked in some high profile programs (including a main event program with John Cena) in WWE.

That means that TNA is an option for him. Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett are constantly on the lookout for wrestlers that can help their company continue to grow.

Umaga can be immediately thrown into the mix with the likes of Samoa Joe, Scott Steiner, Kurt Angle, Sting, AJ Styles, Abyss, and Matt Morgan. Those would all be interesting matchups to see.

    Closing Thoughts

World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – From the home of Elvis Presley & Graceland, the fury of Extreme Rules (Extreme Rules coverage) reached its final stop as it prepares to unleash itself upon the WWE Universe in just two days. And the Extreme anticipation it brought with it created an absolute rhythm & blues frenzy of unprecedented aggression that turbo-charged Friday nights into a whole new stratosphere of rock & roll intensity.

“The Cutting Edge” (PHOTOS | VIDEO); World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio (PHOTOS| VIDEO)
Surrounded by an Extremely dangerous array of metal rungs, World Heavyweight Champion Edge presented “The Cutting Edge” with his Extreme Rules challenger Jeff Hardy as his special guest. Staring each other down from on top of dueling ladders high above the ring, both Superstars predicted victory, in what promises to be one of the greatest Extreme matches of all time. But amidst the excitement, The Ultimate Opportunist locked in on his chance to strike, hitting Hardy with the hanging World Heavyweight Championship before thrusting his ladder ruthlessly downward, sending The Charismatic No. 1 Contender crashing to the floor.

Later that evening, the World Heavyweight Champion took on the Intercontinental Champion for the first time ever on SmackDown, as Edge faced off with Rey Mysterio in a Champion vs. Champion Match. In the end, despite the fact that Mysterio was able to hit the lethal 619, Edge miraculously avoided his fatal follow-up, allowing him to drill his masked opponent with a devastating spear for the victory. But, when The Master Manipulator tried to use the ladder on Mysterio after the bell, Jeff Hardy charged to the rescue. After disarming Edge with the help of his trusty chair, Hardy hit Edge with a jaw dropping leg drop off the top of the ladder. Could this be a sign of things to come at Extreme Rules this Sunday?

Chris Jericho def. R-Truth (PHOTOS | VIDEO)
R-Truth infuriated Chris Jericho, interrupting the eight-time Intercontinental Champion as he was promising to take Rey Mysterio’s title and ruin his life in their No Holds Barred Match at Extreme Rules. R-Truth responded by proclaiming that he would show his imminent SmackDown opponent “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.”

Despite R-Truth’s dynamic entrance and gutsy statements, Jericho proved triumphant in the end, hitting the Codebreaker on R-Truth as the high-octane Superstar was propelling himself off the ropes. However, after the match, Mysterio got some payback on the First-ever Undisputed WWE Champion for last week’s sneak attack, unleashing an absolutely furious assault on his Extreme Rules opponent before exploding upon him with the sitting senton on the hard concrete.

CM Punk def. Umaga (PHOTOS | VIDEO)
Just two days before their Samoan Strap Match at Extreme Rules, The Straightedge Superstar captured the momentum, executing the GTS on Umaga as The Samoan Bulldozer was distracted by his own Samoan Strap. Will the outcome be different when the straps are wielding freely on the one night of the year when all of WWE goes Extreme?

Michelle McCool, Layla & Alicia Fox def. Women’s Champion Melina, Gail Kim & Eve (Six-Diva Tag Team Match)  (PHOTOS | VIDEO) Even with special guest referee Maria present to maintain order, Diva mayhem ensued outside the ring. The bedlam allowed Michelle to interfere, setting up Layla to hit the neckbreaker on Melina and score a pin on the fierce Women’s Champion.

John Morrison def. Shelton Benjamin (PHOTOS)
Heroically fighting through a painful knee injury acquired during the match, The Friday Night Delight reigned supreme, utilizing the Starship Pain in the culmination of a fierce match with the athletically-gifted Gold Standard.

The Great Khali def. Dolph Ziggler (PHOTOS)
After the brutal chair attack by Ziggler several weeks ago, The Great Khali finally achieved a satisfying degree of retribution, burying his cocky opponent with The Punjabi Plunge.

DREAMER PRAAT OVER DE EXTREME RULES MATCH

Tommy Dreamer talks about Extreme Rules match

Tommy Dreamer's contract with World Wrestling Entertainment expires today. However, he recently signed a one-day extension to compete at tomorrow night's Extreme Rules pay-per-view — and has vowed that if he doesn't win the ECW Championship, he will not re-sign with the company.

SLAM! Wrestling has an interview with Tommy Dreamer discussing tomorrow night possibly being his final night with World Wrestling Entertainment. In the interview, Dreamer clarifies his situation, saying it's not some retirement angle, and that he won't return as General Manager of ECW or show up on Raw or Smackdown.

"I guess if I was like my mentor Terry Funk, I would have retired a million times," Dreamer joked. "But this isn't an angle for me, this is the real deal. My contract legitimately was up, and I really signed a one-day extension and that's it. If I lose, then I'm gone. I've read some rumours that said that I would come back as General Manager or that I would move to Raw or Smackdown. But like I said on (the company's website) WWE Universe: No. If I lose, I'm gone. You will not see me on WWE programming again."

In an update, the word is that one of the wrestlers was let go as a result of a Wellness Policy violation, reports The Sun. The wrestler in question was set to be suspended, but Laurinaitis decided to let him go altogether. Additional details are still being investigated.

Highlights aired of Foley’s decree last week about defending the belt as well as Eric Young turning on Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles beating Daniels, only for Daniels to be attacked by Shane Douglas. The voice-over dude also plugged Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash in a Lethal Lockdown match. “You can go back home.”

-Lauren caught up to Shane Douglas backstage, in the same outfit as a week ago. Shane introduced himself to her and said he plans to make his mark on TNA for a long time to come.

    -Impact Open.

-Fireworks opened the show, then Mike Tenay again plugged the Joe vs. Nash match.

1- KIYOSHI & SHEIK ABDUL BASHIR vs. DANIELS & SUICIDE

It’s worth noting (maybe) that an ad for Stacker 2- Six Hour Power is in the middle of the canvas in the ring. Daniels with a suplex on Bashir, then a legdrop off the top by Suicide. Bashir took over and choked Suicide in the corner, with an assist from Kiyoshi. Tenay plugged the appearance at Slammiversary of Detroit Tigers OF Curtis Granderson, who will be in charge of watching the title belt during the King of the Mountain match. The hot tag was made to Daniels, who was able to fight off Bashir and Kiyoshi. Then some double-teaming by the faces, with a Suicde Samoan drop front-roll and a springboard moonsault from Daniels for two. His pin was interrupted by Bashir. Suicide slingshotted himself onto Bashir on the outside, who held his leg in pain as Slick Johnson checked on him. Then, the Motor City Machine Guns and Lethal Consequences attacked Suicide. As Daniels was going to finish off Kiyoshi, Shane Douglas came out and nailed Daniels in the head with a chain. Bashir threw the ref in the ring and the heels got the pin.

WINNERS: Bashir & Kiyoshi, at 5:17. Way too much going on at the end there.

The heels celebrated with the British Invasion after the match.

    [Commercial Break]

-Douglas was still in the ring, with a mic and chair. Before he spoke, they showed what just happened with Douglas and Daniels. Douglas told Daniels that what he’s doing is strictly business. He said he’s a huge fan of TNA wrestling and he watches the show religiously. Who doesn’t? Douglas said he didn’t like Daniels getting a second chance from Jeff Jarrett, because he never got one. Douglas said it was politics and “someone upstairs” doesn’t like him. Douglas told whoever is making the decisions around here (he doesn’t even know and he watches the show religiously!) that he wants a second chance and he’s going to make life miserable for Daniels and TNA until he gets it.

-Jeremy Borash was backstage with Mick Foley, who was wearing a Buffalo Bisons minor league baseball jersey. Foley said the belt is a major league deal and said the Super Bowl only happens once a year, and he equated defending the title to the Super Bowl- you wouldn’t have the Super Bowl multiple times a year. Kip James walked in and begged for some work, talking about how he has a family to support. I can’t wait for him to bring his family on next episode and for Foley to tell his daughter, “tell your daddy he’s still fired.” Foley instead said he’ll see what he can do. Kevin Nash and Jenna Morasca walked in as James left and Nash asked Foley what he was smoking for making a Lethal Lockdown match. Foley said he was mad at Dixie and mad at Spike TV and he said Nash just got caught in the cross-hairs. Foley told him to think of the ratings, but Nash said he only does it for the money. Foley then offered three times the payoff and Nash wanted four times. They settled on an agreement and JB asked why he said things are tight and he couldn’t get Kip work, yet he could give money to Nash. Foley responded that “things are tight....for Kip James.” Then he and JB shared a laugh.

    [Commercial Break]

-Lethal Consequences and the Motor City Machine Guns were backstage with Lauren. Apparently, they’re teaming up to take on Beer Money tonight. Chris Sabin made fun of Lethal Consequences and said they’re teaming up to solve the Suicide mystery. He said it’ll happen at Slammiversary when they take out Suicide. Consequences Creed told Suicide that he has to man-up coming into the X Division and that they’re going to un-mask him. Then he said Beer Money better look out tonight.

2- CONSEQUENCES CREED & CHRIS SABIN vs. BEER MONEY, INC.

Sabin got double-teamed by Beer Money with a suplex as Tenay accused Don West of watching to much “Lie to Me” given his penchant for conspiracy theories and no one telling the truth. Creed tagged in and got tagged by James Storm. They traded right hands but Sabin pulled Storm down by the hair when he went off the ropes. Sabin spit at Robert Roode as West said Sabin reminds him of himself 20 years ago. Now that’s funny. Creed used his athleticism to take down Storm and the odd-couple pairing continued on offense with quick tags. They both went for a springboard move at the same time though, and hit each other in mid-air. That allowed Roode to tag in and take out Sabin, then hit a spinebuster on Creed for two. Storm dispatched of Sabin as Creed and Roode collided in the ring. The British Invasion came out and wanted to get involved, but Team 3D fended them off. Sabin accidentally kicked Creed in the corner, then Storm hit a nice Superkick on Sabin. DWI finished it on Creed.

WINNERS: Beer Money, Inc, at 5:12. Good enough match that raised the question whether MCMG and Lethal Consequences will be able to work together at Slammiversary..

-The Beautiful People were with Lauren in the bowels in the building, searching for someone that was bleeped out.

    [Commercial Break]

-The Beautiful People were beating down Tara backstage (the former Victoria). She made the comeback, but Anglelina Love ran off before she could get her hands on her. Tara takes on Love for the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary.

-Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde, another Main Event Mafia interview and a King of the Mountain Qualifier are all still to come tonight.

-Don West did his live-events hard-sell.

-Up next, the 1,324th sit-down interview with the Mafia.

    [Commercial Break]

-Lauren interviewed Daffney backstage and tried to keep things professional. Lauren said Daffney’s issue with Taylor Wilde shouldn’t have come to this point. She said that crazy people don’t follow logic. She generally acted crazy and Daffney said Taylor wasn’t there for her when she needed her, then questioned who the crazy one really is. She seemed happy about getting to hurt Taylor. It seems Daffney is communicating with the same people as Damian Demento.

-Tenay talked to the Main Event Mafia earlier today. He wanted their reaction to the Mafia hit-list Samoa Joe introduced. Nash spoke first, saying Joe has to get through him before he continues his hit-list and that’s not going to be easy. He said any man can die at any time and that he’ll walk out of the Impact Zone tonight and Slammiversary. Booker called Joe’s faction the “One Warrior Independent Nation.” Oh, so close. Steiner yelled about Joe being fat and said he’d make him bleed. Angle did more yelling and said he’d beat up Joe until his mother wouldn’t be able to recognize him. Sting, the calming influence, said that’s not going to happen. He said they’ll take care of Joe on their clock, done his way.

-Taylor Wilde was walking backstage. She faces Daffney next.

    [Commercial Break]

-A video package reviewed the Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde feud.

    3- DAFFNEY vs. TAYLOR WILDE

Tenay said when she was Governor Palin, she transferred into her alter-ego of Daffney. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? West got another zinger in on Tenay- West: “Taylor is the girl you bring home to your mother....then leave her there while you sneak out with Daffney!” Tenay: “So where does that leave Awesome Kong?” West: “Hopefully at your house.”

Not long after the match started, Dr. Stevie and Raven came to ringside. Daffney looked like she scratched Taylor’s back quite hard, then hit a flying elbow on her in the corner. Taylor went to the top and hit a dropkick after Daffney missed an elbowdrop. Roll-through into a pin for two. Taylor went to the second rope but Dr. Stevie provided a distraction that allowed Daffney to taker her out and hit her finisher, the Lobotomy (a spinning Perfect-Plex) for the three.

    WINNER: Daffney, at 2:09.

Daffney continued the beat-down at the behest of Stevie and Raven until Lauren made the save and covered Lauren in the ring to prevent further damage. Raven got on the mic and talked about fans waiting for his re-uniting with Stevie. He said he’s come to help take out Abyss for not following doctor’s orders.

-Jeff Jarrett was on his cell phone backstage...he’s next on Impact.

    [Commercial Break]

-A video package aired on the history of the friendship between Jeff Jarrett and Eric Young.

-Jeff Jarrett made his entrance into the Impact Zone. He didn’t mince words, simply introduced his friend Eric Young. Young walked out with a sour expression on his face. Jarrett said he and Young go way back and he knows he’s had a short fuse lately, but it comes with the territory. Double J reminded Young of his opportunity last week and said that Eric gave it his best shot, but HE won the match. He cheered Young up by saying on another night, he could’ve beat Jarrett. Jeff said he was the better man on that given night. Jarrett said they can chalk last week up to immaturity and get on with their friendship, or they can take this as far as Young wants to go with it.

Young wasn’t happy that Jarrett was trying to set him straight and set him up to apologize. Young told the story about how his father wasn’t there for him. Another daddy issue? He told Jarrett that Jeff was his father-figure when he got to TNA. Young then talked up all of Jeff’s credentials in the ring and in business, starting up TNA himself. This reminds me of how every opponent of Triple H’s has to suck up to him during a feud. The crowd seemed behind Young until he called them maggots, saying he gave them a choice by starting TNA. Young also took a shot at Jarrett’s home life, saying he had the American Dream with a beautiful wife, kids and a house on the lake. Young said they became friends because their childhood wasn’t so different, as Jeff’s dad was “wrestling-first” and didn’t have time for his son and Jeff hated him for it. That’s Young’s story of how it went down, anyway. Young said they made a vow, promising that they’d be better than their fathers. Forty years later, he said, tragedy struck. Young said Jarrett is losing that game, becoming just like his father Jerry. Crowd started chanting “fight, fight.” Young said everything in TNA revolves around Jeff first, and everybody else second. Eric said that’s not why he’s out there though. Young said he feels not for the guys in the back, but for Jeff’s three little girls who have to settle for second place. Jarrett then slapped Young. The two men brawled in the ring as referees broke things up. Jarrett nailed Earl Hebner to get at Young and TNA security finally intervened. Great promo by Young there, even being saddled with so-so material.

-Foley and JB were watching backstage when Foley said Jarrett went over the line by attacking an official. He said it was only a matter of time before he needed security. Good God, Rocco and Sal are back. Stupendous.

    [Commercial Break]

-A video profiling Jesse Neal’s Naval career and his wrestling training aired.

-Neal, with a bizarre new haircut, was backstage with Rhino and Lauren. Lauren asked him about facing Matt Morgan next. He just talked about his first match and the training that went along with it. He wasn’t terribly sure-footed on the mic, but showed promise.

4- MATT MORGAN vs. JESSE NEAL

They showed Jesse’s parents in the crowd. He wrestled in a long-sleeved tee and a pair of gym shorts. He got a roll-up on Morgan out of the corner, but Morgan landed a back suplex. Morgan hit a series of back-elbows on Neal in the corner, then bowed for the crowd. Sidewalk slam, then he threw Neal face-first into the top turnbuckle as Rhino coached him from ringside. Standing dropkick from the Blueprint. Cover got two, as Morgan picked him up by the hair. Morgan trash talked Rhino, allowing Neal to get a few punches in. He made the mistake of whipping Morgan off the ropes, and Morgan retaliated with the Carbon Footprint for the win.

WINNER: Morgan, at 2:46. Decent mid-card angle they’ve got going on here. Although I don’t get Rhino looking so pissed at ringside.....it was his first match and it was against Matt Morgan, cut the kid some slack.

-Mick Foley and his new personal security were walking backstage, on their way to the ring.

    [Commercial Break]

-Leroy’s Fitness Club in Bucksnort, Tennessee was the place where we saw ODB training Cody Deaner to wrestle. First up was training to add muscle mass by lifting various farm items and beating up a punching bag full of hay. Not a big fan of having another training video after just finishing up the Jesse Neal Story (coming to the Lifetime Network at some point, no doubt). It was different enough though to make it OK.

-Foley and his security team came out. Foley first spoke of Joe’s Nation of Violence taking on Steiner and Booker next week, then made another K.O.T.M qualifier between Sting and Kurt Angle. He then said he needed security, which is why he brought back Rocco and Sally Boy. Mick said that, for the first time in his life, he’s truly scared, because Jeff Jarrett is truly out of control and has made him look like a liar. He said a few weeks ago, he assured Earl Hebner that he has a job in TNA for a long time. But because of Jarrett, Hebner may never referee a match again. Mick used Jeff’s words against him, saying “every action has a reaction” and he’s not going to take Jarrett’s assault on Hebner lightly. He said his reaction, next week, would be hardcore.

-Borash was standing backstage with Sting. He asked Stinger’s opinion on the match made next week by Foley moments ago. Sting said things are different now that he’s in charge and they’re stronger than they’ve been in a long time. And nothing is going to change that. He said he and Angle are both professionals. Then Matt Morgan interrupted and bragged to Sting about what he did in the match against Neal, trying to talk up his credentials to earn a spot in the Mafia. Sting talked about Neal representing the country and that it’s about respect and Morgan doesn’t have any. He told Morgan when he finds respect to come back and talk to him. Morgan went off and said they have million-dollar egos and they won’t let him in because he’s not a former champion. Morgan again promised he’d get in the Mafia. He got talking a bit too fast again at times there.

    [Commercial Break]

-Tenay announced that Foley had added First Blood rules to Joe’s matches next week.

-JB was with Steiner and Booker in the Mafia locker room. He said it will start with Joe vs. Steiner and if Joe wins, he goes against Booker. If Steiner makes Joe bleed, it’s over. Booker said this isn’t a movie, this is real life and they’re not getting busted open. Steiner said they’re not going to just stand there like couple of punching bags. Steiner said he grew up and survived living in Detroit so he knows violence. He said when they’re done, they’re going to stick an apple in Joe’s mouth like the fat pig he is. Why are they allowing/writing him to say this stuff?

Sharmell walked in and complained to Booker about Jenna being in the makeup chair all day. Booker walked away to apparently take care of it.

5- KEVIN NASH vs. SAMOA JOE- KING OF THE MOUNTAIN QUALIFYING MATCH UNDER LETHAL LOCKDOWN RULES

Before coming out, Joe was shown talking to someone just beyond the exit door. Then he started walking toward the rampway.

The two began the match by battling with Kendo Sticks, each taking shots at the other. Nash got Joe in the corner and choked him with the stick. Joe shot back with right hands and they went to break about 1:30 into the match.

    [Commercial Break]

Joe hit Nash with a road sign upon return from break. He peppered Nash with about a dozen rights in the corner. Nash’s back was covered with welts thanks to the kendo stick. Nash got a shot in and tried to climb the cage. Oh, he was going for a trash can lid. He cracked Joe in the head with it, and again. After a third shot, he got two on a pin. Joe got back to his feet first and gouged the eyes of Nash. Nash came back with another lid shot. He whiffed with the stick and Joe was able to hit a kick to the face, then a senton on the big man. Joe grabbed a hockey stick and wailed Nash in the back with it. Lateral press, and he picked up the victory.

    WINNER: Joe, at 9:01.

Bourne vind het ecw van nu beter als die van vroeger

Bourne says new ECW "blows out" the original ECW

Evan Bourne was recently interviewed by The Sun in the UK. Here are the highlights:

The new ECW vs. The original ECW: “You can’t make a direct comparison between the rosters, as we’re so different. But if you compare ECW now to the old ECW on TNN - we blow that show out of the water. Every week we blow it out of the water. I have tons of respect for Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Super Crazy and Tajiri - as they were the guys I idolised growing up. I loved ECW. So that’s why I’m so proud to part of the current ECW, to make sure the name has the same feel and fans feel the same way I did at that age.”

On differences between now and then: “The main difference is that the original ECW’s events weren’t as large as ours. They were wrestling in front of 4,000-5,000, whereas WWE’s arena shows attract 10,000. That makes a huge difference as you have to adapt to your crowd and give them the best show. Also ECW had no rules, you could use any language you want. I loved the promo Tazz cut on Steve Corino, where he cursed for 10 minute straight, but we can’t do that. We’re a PG product and I’m proud to be a part of that. I love doing it for the kids, but I never want to forget about that 18-24 male demographic that needs ECW to be like EXTREME Championship Wrestling was back in the day. Me and Tyson Kid can easily be the Super Crazy/Tajiri or RVD/Jerry Lynn of the new ECW. ”

On the poor ratings: “You have to look at ratings as a long-term picture, but I did notice that the week I made my second debut was one of ECW’s highest rated shows. And I think we’re going to see a slow increase coming up. I measure more by live crowd reaction and how it looks on TV. I don’t make any money off ad sales, so ratings are nowhere near as important to me as having a good product.”
