    WWE signs independent women's wrestler

    Credit: PWInsider.com

World Wrestling Entertainment has signed a 22-year-old New Jersey based women's wrestler by the name of Miss April (real name April Jeanette) to a developmental contract — the first such signing since Natalya Neidhart in January 2007. This is coming off the heels of the tryout camp held at WWE's developmental facility in Tampa this past weekend.

April had been wrestling for several independent promotions in the Tri-State Region including National Wrestling Superstars and Women Superstars Unleashed.

National Wrestling Superstars issued the following press release this morning:

"National Wrestling Superstars management along with the entire locker room sends congratulations to Miss April on her WWE contract. April, who was the winner (along with TNA’s Jay Lethal) of the NWS King & Queen Tournament just this past April has been a bright note on the indy scene where women have a hard time competing with men for the spotlight April, along with her partner Brooke Carter, won the WSU tag team titles from Roxxie Cotton and Annie Social at an NWS event held in Edison this past February. Ms April is also the second NWS King & Queen winner to move on to the WWE as was Kara Slice aka Cherry Pie as both these female dynamos made many a stride whilst in the NWS territory."

John Cena gets the last laugh on a group of fans

John Cena gets the last laugh on a group of fans

    James sent in the following:

I just wanted to add one thing to the Raw off air report, and it is why I am now a HUGE John Cena fan.

Sitting near us was a group of three guys that like to show how "smart" they are, and then especially in the dark match were giving it to Cena, being loud and vulgar, constantly standing and flipping him off. There were a lot of kids around and some parents in front of me even said they kind of hoped Cena would come over and punch them out.

After the match, Cena did come over (they were second row) so they started yelling and flipping him off more. So, Cena got a cameraman to come over and take his picture smiling and posing with them in the background. Everyone was laughing (except those guys, who were even more pissed off, which was great). Cena sure is a class act all the way.

TNA in talks with top MTV star

TNA in talks with top MTV star

    Source: PWTorch.com

Spencer Pratt, from MTV’s The Hills TV series, is reportedly talking to TNA about an appearance at their Slammiversary pay-per-view event in June.

Spencer was at the TNA offices last week for a discussion with management about an appearance at Slammiversary. Jeremy Borash addressed the issue on his Twitter page (http://twitter.com/JeremyBorash) saying: “A possible Slammiversary involvement could be in the works.”

This is the second celebrity who falls into TNA’s target audience demographic that Jeremy Borash has been speaking with lately, after meeting with Dennis Rodman in Miami. Rodman, however, is currently dealing with his substance abuse issues and it’s unlikely that we’ll see him on TNA TV any time soon unless there’s a change in his current situation.

Shane McMahon def. The Legacy in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match by disqualification
Unified WWE Tag Team Champion Carlito def. The Brian Kendrick
Ted DiBiase def. Batista by disqualification
Mickie James def. Divas Champion Maryse in a non-title match
Cody Rhodes def. United States Champion MVP by count-out in a non-title match
    Kofi Kingston def. Matt Hardy
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Shane McMahon ended in a no-contest

BUFFALO, N.Y. – With Judgment Day looming, the WWE Universe is crying out for Randy Orton and his Legacy to be held accountable for their actions. With the WWE Title firmly around his waist, “The Viper” and his associates, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase continue to terrorize the Raw roster, racking up victories at the expense of their opponents. The ring warrior who experienced the most acute loss however, was Shane McMahon, who had his ankle shattered by The Legacy on Raw.

Shane McMahon def. The Legacy in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match by disqualification after they shattered his ankle (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In the night’s main event, Shane McMahon faced incredible odds, taking on not only Randy Orton, but also the WWE Champion’s associates Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, as determined by the Legacy members’ wins earlier in the night. As decreed by Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero, if Batista or United States Champion MVP were to become involved with the match, The Animal would lose his Judgment Day title opportunity against Orton and The Ballin’ Superstar would be stripped of his U.S. Title.

Heeding Vickie’s threats, Batista & MVP steered clear of the match as Shane O’Mac struggled to hold his own. Though not in a traditional manner, Legacy put a definitive end to the match when they attacked their opponent’s leg using a steel chair and the ring steps, shattering Shane’s ankle and causing the contest to end in a disqualification. Afterward, Batista ran out to the ring, but it was too late as Shane McMahon writhed in agony while being attended to by EMTs.

Unified WWE Tag Team Champion Carlito def. The Brian Kendrick (PHOTOS)
Unified WWE Tag Team Champion Carlito and The Brian Kendrick met for a match on Raw – the first time the two faced off since being drafted to the brand. Kendrick is finding that victories are a little tougher to come by ever since being separated from his former associate, Ezekiel Jackson, as evidenced by his defeat at the hands of The Southpaw from San Juan.

Ted DiBiase def. Batista by disqualification, earning a spot in Raw’s main event (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In the second match to determine the line-up of Raw’s tag-team main event, Batista competed against Ted DiBiase. The third-generation Superstar held his own against The Animal, working his opponent’s neck. But when DiBiase slapped Batista and attempted to kick him in the groin, it only enraged The Animal, invoking his primal rage. Batista went after DiBiase like a man possessed, and in his single-minded attempt to harm his opponent, caused himself to be disqualified. With The Animal’s loss, Shane McMahon’s odds in the main event got profoundly worse as Ted DiBiase joined WWE Champion Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes in the night’s 3-on-1 Handicap Match.

Mickie James def. Divas Champion Maryse in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The next match saw a special announcer take to the ring: Jared from Subway. After Jared announced the competitors, Divas Champion Maryse and Mickie James squared off in a non-title match. Mickie gave the Divas Champion a Raw kind of welcome, as she defeated the French Canadian Diva with a well-placed DDT.

The Miz challenges John Cena to a match; Cena is attacked by Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After attacking Festus in the Superstar’s most helpless state, The Miz turned his sights on another ring warrior not in the best condition to defend himself: The injured John Cena. For the second week in a row, the self-proclaimed “future World Champion” called out the former World Heavyweight Champion, all the time tossing out cruel insults. But this week, to Miz’s surprise, Cena actually emerged, slowly making his way down the ramp to the ring. Before things could progress any further, however, Big Show made his entrance, attacking his Judgment Day opponent and locking him into a brutal submission maneuver, leaving the recuperating Superstar lying prone in the ring.

Festus def. Jillian in a singing contest; The Miz attacks Festus (PHOTOS | WATCH)
WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler took to the ring on Raw to host a singing contest between Jillian and her hand-picked opponent, Festus. Raw’s tone-deaf songstress started off the competition with her ear-shattering rendition of Britney Spears’ “If You Seek Amy.” Jillian expected an easy win as The Corn-fed Colossus stared in his default catatonic state, but the WWE Universe was shocked by what happened after Lawler rang a ring bell. Festus screamed and then broke out in a heart-warming rendition of “Tomorrow” from Annie.

As Jillian stood in shock and Festus went back to his vegetative baseline, the crowd in attendance went crazy for The Corn-Fed Colossus, who won the Singing Contest. One Superstar who wasn’t impressed with the performance, however, was The Miz, who attacked Festus, ejecting him from the ring.

Cody Rhodes def. United States Champion MVP by count-out in a non-title match, earning a spot in Raw’s main event (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In the first of two matches to determine the participants in Raw’s tag team main event, Cody Rhodes took on United States Champion MVP. As William Regal assisted on commentary, The Ballin’ Superstar and the Legacy member fought to earn a spot alongside Shane McMahon and Randy Orton, respectively. Though MVP put forth an impressive effort the Monday before against “The Viper,” this week he was undone due to involvement from The British Brawler at ringside, who attacked The Franchise Playa’ outside the ring, causing him to lose by count-out. With that, Rhodes earned a spot in the main event assisting Orton, ensuring that best-case scenario for Shane would be a two-on-two encounter.

Vickie Guerrero sets John Cena vs. Big Show for Judgment Day
As Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero sat in her office she was interrupted by Big Show, who was furious about the events of the week before. On the last Raw, The World’s Largest Athlete competed against Batista for the No. 1 contendership to the WWE Title. During the match, John Cena distracted Big Show, causing him to get counted out, and gaining some matter of retribution for the night before at Backlash, when The World’s Largest Athlete chokeslammed him through a 7000-watt searchlight. Big Show wanted to be put in a match against Cena immediately, but due to internal injuries sustained during the 7-footer’s attack, the former World Heavyweight Champion won’t be cleared to compete for another two weeks. As a consolation, Vickie set a new match for Judgment Day: John Cena vs. Big Show.

Kofi Kingston def. Matt Hardy; Hardy attacked Kingston with his cast (PHOTOS)
For the second week in a row, Matt Hardy announced that due to his broken hand, he would be competing “under protest.” The bitter Superstar’s pessimistic attitude worked against him during his match as the highly athletic Kofi Kingston served him up a loss. But following the contest as The Jamaican Superstar celebrated, Hardy used his injury to his advantage by clobbering Kofi with his cast.

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Shane McMahon ended in a no-contest (PHOTOS)
Starting off with a bang, Raw opened with a highly anticipated match, in which Shane McMahon hoped to exact vengeance from WWE Champion Randy Orton. Not surprisingly, it wasn’t possible for this heated rivalry to come to a resolution just yet, as the match saw interference from both Orton’s Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) and Batista & United States Champion MVP, interjecting on behalf of Shane O’Mac. With the contest ending in a complete and total donnybrook, Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero emerged and set a new main event, making it possible for the match’s interlopers to earn their way in. Later in the evening, Batista was set to face DiBiase, with MVP competing against Rhodes, with the winners joining either Shane or Orton.

Randy Savage still alive despite death rumors

The official Wikipedia page of former WWE star Randy Savage was hacked over the weekend with a claim that he died of a heart attack on Friday. Savage's webmaster, Steve Wilton, has told us that Savage "is alive and kicking."

Wilton says Savage wants his fans to know that he is doing fine and not to worry about his health despite the claim from his Wikipedia page.

    UPDATE VAN UNDERTAKER

Latest news on Undertaker's health and WWE status

Dave Meltzer is reporting that The Undertaker missed last week's Smackdown/Superstars tapings at Madison Square Garden because both his knees and his hip are bothering him. The word going around is that The Undertaker would be undergoing minor surgery on his knee, but there is a fear that when he undergoes the procedure, more damage could be found. This explains the push of John Morrison as a babyface, and might force WWE to turn up pressure on Jeff Hardy to re-sign. Shawn Michaels, Undertaker's Wrestlemania opponent, was given time off to rest up.

Taz talks about having a bad attitude in ECW

Taz talks about having a bad attitude in ECW

Former WWE Superstar Taz answered another latest batch of questions on his official Facebook page and admitted he was one of the bigger jerks in the original ECW's locker room. When asked about who was the hardest person to deal with backstage in ECW, Taz frankly responded, "I hate to admit this but I'm gonna shoot straight with you, I was probley the biggest A-Hole back in the original ECW days. I don't think most of the locker room 'liked' me....and they shouldn't have. At times, I was a bit immature and difficult to deal with....it took me a long time to 'make it' and I was always told I would NEVER make it in the industry and that motivated me but also developed a huge chip on my shoulder so I wasn't mature enough (sometimes) to handle the push and was very protecting of what I achieved. If I had to do it all over again, I would put a better effort in being humble! Life experiences and settling down has taught me to not take myself so serious."

CM Punk def. World Heavyweight Champion Edge (Non-title)

NEW YORK – As SmackDown rolled into The World’s Most Famous Arena, new WWE draftees joined Friday nights, a Straightedge Superstar had his destiny stolen from him, and four elite Superstars collided to determine who would face new World Heavyweight Champion Edge at Judgment Day.

CM Punk def. World Heavyweight Champion Edge (Non-title) (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Chris Jericho emerged on SmackDown for the first time since being drafted to Friday nights, only to be interrupted by new World Heavyweight Champion Edge and eventually CM Punk. Jericho ended up walking out, citing disrespect from both his fellow Superstars and the capacity crowd at Madison Square Garden. When The Rated-R Superstar said that he could beat The Straightedge Superstar as a “warm-up match,” Punk decided to accommodate him. He proclaimed that if he defeated Edge later that night, he would cash in his Money in the Bank championship opportunity and pin The Rated-R Superstar a second time for the gold. (WATCH | PHOTOS)

Later that night, after capturing victory with the GTS, Punk attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. But, before the bell could sound, Umaga came out of nowhere, laying waste to the would-be champion. Jeff Hardy then exploded upon the ring, hitting the Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb on Edge.

Jeff Hardy def. Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho and Kane (No. 1 Contender Fatal Four Way Elimination Match) (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In a whirlwind Fatal Four Way Elimination Match, Jeff Hardy leveled Kane with the Swanton Bomb, only to have Chris Jericho pull him away and pick up the pinfall on The Big Red Machine himself. Rey Mysterio immediately executed the 619 on the first Undisputed WWE Champion. But when he went to finish off his prey, Jericho hurled a nearby chair at the masked Superstar in mid-air, getting himself disqualified. Hardy and Mysterio then engaged in a fast-paced, intense tour-de-force of combat. Just as it looked like the Intercontinental Champion might overcome The Charismatic Enigma, Hardy suddenly reversed the pin, grabbing the huge victory. As a result, Jeff Hardy will once again take on The Ultimate Opportunist for the title at Judgment Day (Match preview).

United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter def. Dolph Ziggler (United States Championship Match) (WATCH | PHOTOS)
With The View’s excited co-host Sherri Shepherd in MVP’s corner, The Ballin’ Superstar defeated his No. 1 contender Dolph Ziggler with the Playmaker. On the heels of his exciting title defense, MVP will be a guest on The View this coming Tuesday.

WWE wanting to bring back a former star again?

    Credit: PWPix.net

There are some rumblings that Tyson Tomko may be brought back to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Company officials are scouting wrestlers that are both big and athletic, which they feel is lacking in developmental.

Tomko was quietly released from his contract earlier this year after inking a deal to return in late November.

Ted DiBiase def. WWE Unified Tag Team Champion Carlito

This week's “WWE Superstars” on WGN America showed off the results of WWE's recent Draft. Raw newcomer and Unified Tag Team Champion Carlito faced The Legacy's Ted DiBiase, while some of SmackDown's newest Divas met some of the Sexiest Women of Friday nights. Also, the rivalry between Evan Bourne and the Burchills got even more Extreme.

Michelle McCool & Alicia Fox def. Gail Kim & Maria (PHOTOS | WATCH)
As Gail Kim was propelling herself from the always-dangerous second rope, Michelle caught the tenacious Diva with a vicious kick to the face, delivering enough force to give the former Divas Champion the huge victory. Michelle reaffirmed herself as one of the top Divas in WWE while giving Alicia Fox a taste of success in her first match since being drafted to SmackDown.

Evan Bourne def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Still furious after his loss to Evan Bourne on last week’s ECW on Sci Fi, Paul Burchill and his devious sister, Katie Lea, returned to the Land of the Extreme looking for some retribution. ECW’s interim General Manager, Tiffany, granted Paul his wish – a rematch against “Air” Bourne on this week’s “WWE Superstars.” But Burchill didn’t exactly get his revenge. The high-flying Bourne once again proved to be superior, landing another perfect Shooting Star Press against the Englishman and pinning him for the “WWE Superstars” victory, much to the dismay of a ringside Katie Lea.

Ted DiBiase def. WWE Unified Tag Team Champion Carlito (PHOTOS | WATCH)
On the surface, the members of The Legacy and the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions have a lot in common: Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Carlito & Primo are all multi-generational Superstars possessing phenomenal natural ability. However, as pointed out by DiBiase & Rhodes, the brothers from San Juan have the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles, something The Legacy has plans of changing. WWE Champion Randy Orton’s cohorts took the first step toward securing their own championship gold on WWE Superstars, as Ted DiBiase squared off against Carlito. Though it was a hard-fought match, filled with reversals and the WWE Unified Tag Team Champion’s high-flying maneuvers, it was the “Priceless” Superstar who emerged victorious, further securing he and his group’s legacy.

vOEGT SMITH ZICH BIJ DE hART FOUNDATION???

Big update on DH Smith's return to WWE TV

    source: F4WOnline.com

Tyson Kidd and Natalya were told to expect a third addition to their package soon, that of course being DH Smith.

Smith was drafted to the ECW brand in the Supplemental Draft two weeks ago with the idea to pair him up with the two. Although, his move to the brand squashed the possibility of the second generation wrestler joining Legacy on Raw. Randy Orton had an idea for Smith to be the Arn Anderson of the group, but plans derailed when the heated McMahon storyline came about in mid-January.

All three are quite familiar with each other as they've known each other since childhood. At the age of ten, Kidd was adopted into the Hart family after befriending Teddy Hart. He also lived with Smith for several years and has been living with Natalya for five years.

In 2007, Smith, Kidd and Natalya briefly aligned themselves and formed the Next Generation Hart Foundation in Florida Championship Wrestling. The group disbanded when Smith was called up to the main roster in October of that year.

Late last year, Smith was paired up with Kidd and Natalya once again with the idea to call them up to the main roster. In December, they looked to be on the brink of being called up to SmackDown to work a program with tag team champions Carlito and Primo, but those plans were squashed when Smith reportedly went behind Kidd's back to suggest to the creative team that they place him in Legacy. Creative apparently bought the idea as the two were unexpectedly broken up in mid-December — a week or two after they started working dark matches.

FCW officials actually turned the behind the scenes happenings into a storyline as Kidd taunted Smith for making it onto television before him even though his former tag partner went behind his back to get in WWE without him.

    UPDATE OVER JEFF'S WWE STATUS

Latest details regarding Jeff Hardy's WWE future

    Source: prowrestling.net

We've been covering the story about Jeff Hardy's WWE contract status and the possibility of Jeff taking time off when it expires this summer. Jeff has turned down several of WWE's attempts to sign him to a new contract and the former WWE champion is said to be considering extended time away from the ring.

The latest is that Jeff has been giving the impression to friends that he will in fact re-sign with WWE before his contract expires this summer. While he is burned out with the hectic travel schedule, his willingness to walk away from WWE has given him negotiating leverage and he will likely ask for a reduced schedule, similar to the Undertaker's deal.
