TNA iMPACT! Results For 4/9-16 The following took place on Tuesday in Orlando, FL.
TNA Impact Tapings for April 9/April 16:
- The Motor City Machineguns defeated No Limit to retain the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Titles.
- Samoa Joe defeated Booker T in a Lethal Lockdown advantage match. After the match, Joe grabbed a kendo stick and went after Booker and Kurt Angle (who was at ringside trying to interfere and was stopped by AJ Styles).
- Hernandez defeated Kiyoshi.
- TNA World Tag Team Champion James Storm defeated Scott Steiner via DQ after Steiner hit Storm with a steel pipe. Steiner took out Beer Money until Team 3D ran down to make the save. 3D gave Beer Money their tag titles and had a staredown.
- Awesome Kong, Taylor Wilde & Raisha Saeed defeated The Beautiful People & Madison Rayne. The Beautiful People got a hold of Kong and cut off some of her braids.
- Homicide defeated Chris Sabin & Tetsuya Naito in a triple threat match.
- AJ Styles came out to the ring and called out Jeff Jarrett. Styles said he was tired of the rumors backstage and wanted answers. Jarrett said Styles will be sorry for calling him out when he finds out who the fourth teammate is for Lockdown, calling him a former TNA champion. Main Event Mafia came out and said Kurt Angle said Kevin Nash wasn't cleared to wrestle the final Lethal Lockdown advantage match tonight against Team Jarrett's fourth member. Jarrett says Angle can wrestle in his place instead.
- Team 3D is shown backstage with Lauren when Brother Runt appeared. He was in town for a show and wanted to stop by and wish them luck with the match in Philadelphia. Balls Mahoney shows up and does the same.
- Abyss & Daffney (no longer The Governor) defeated Cody Deaner & ODB in a mixed tag match. After the match, Matt Morgan took out Abyss and said they would meet up at Lockdown.
- Mick Foley comes out to the ring ready for an interview. Two chairs were set up in the ring and Foley said the person he was interviewing comes from Truth or Consequences, New Mexico - it is Cactus Jack. Foley goes back and forth between Foley and Cactus Jack during the interview talking about how Cactus will show up at Lockdown to finish what he started with Sting back in the day. Sting walks out and tries to talk sense into Foley. Foley goes crazy and takes out Sting since he has the power to do whatever he wants. He calls for random theme songs to be played to prove this and ends it with Sting's theme standing over Sting with his barbed wire bat held high.
- Backstage, Brother Runt and Balls Mahoney are shown leaving the building and are attacked by Beer Money. They brawl to the ring where Beer Money destroys them. Robert Roode took out Runt with a powerbomb through a table. Team 3D hit the ring and Brother Ray gets on the mic. He said the match in Philly was just supposed to be a good wrestling match between two good teams for dominance, but now it got personal. He said the match at Lockdown will now be a Philadelphia Street Fight.
- Kurt Angle is out for the Lethal Lockdown advantage match replacing Kevin Nash. Jeff Jarrett walks out and gets on the mic saying he is tired of the rumors and is putting them to rest tonight. He has done what is best for TNA and what is best for the fans. Jarrett introduces the fourth member of Team Jarrett and Angle's opponent tonight..."The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Daniels got a big reaction from the crowd.
- Kurt Angle defeated Christopher Daniels after the original decision was reversed by Jeff Jarrett. Daniels initially rolled up Angle, but Angle argued with the referee that his shoulder was up. The match was restarted after Angle made Jarrett look at the replay and it clearly showed his shoulder was up. He declares Angle the winner, even though he wasn't happy about it. Angle celebrates with the Mafia in the ring until Samoa Joe's music hits. Joe, Jarrett, Styles and Daniels clear the ring of the Mafia to close the show.
Andrew "Test" Martin's cause of death was finally revealed to be an accidental overdose, reports the UK Sun. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner ruled the death as a result of Oxycodone intoxication. Oxycodone is the very addictive ingredient found in numerous painkillers, including the popular OxyContin.
Andrew Martin was found dead by his apartment neighbor n March 14th, 2009. He had just completed drug rehab, paid for by the WWE, due to his past addictions. His father and friends have stated in recent interviews that they thought he was doing much better since the rehab.
DH Smith has bleached his hair blonde. He's rumored to join Legacy upon his return to television. You can see a photo of him from Sunday's annual post-WrestleMania party at this link, alongside his sister Georgia and Tammy "Sunny" Sytch.
It is believed that the concept of the 25-Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania was born out of the big reaction Trish Stratus received when they were in Toronto for Raw last December. They figured to follow it up with her at the annual show, under the guise of bringing a number of female performers back.
Unfortunately for company officials, Stratus, Amy "Lita" Dumas and Wendi Richter the three big names they wanted to bring back all declined. In Richter's case, it is believed that at her age, she didn't want to be put in a position to be embarrassed body wise by being compared to the women of today. Richter is 47 years old and understandably looks nothing like she how she used to look during her heyday in the mid-1980s.
Stratus must have peeved some people off during negotiations as there were some negative things said about the seven-time Women's Champion amongst management during WrestleMania weekend over her not being there.
Batista recently approached WWE officials and told them he was way ahead of schedule with his physical therapy and was ready to gt back in the mix of things as soon as possible, which is why he was brought back on RAW this week. Batista has been working out at FCW in Tampa to get rid of some of his ring rust. He did look bigger on RAW this week than he has in a while but was seen limping. Returning to action before he is 100% could be a bad move in the long run.

On Thursday night, TNA sent out a text via their mobile service teasing that negotiations continue with a former World Champion from another company and the hope is that a deal can be reached by Lockdown.
- TNA President Dixie Carter spoke with former WWE Womens Champion Victoria at a recent UFC event and we do know there is interest in bringing her into TNA. No word yet on any deal offered or anything like that but everything would depend on when her deal with WWE was up and what kind of a release she signed. If someone leaves WWE with time left on their contract, they have to agree not to work for TNA until the time of their original deal is finished. Bobby Lashley was an exception as he negotiated a deal with WWE where the company agreed to all of his terms in exchange for him agreeing never to say anything bad about them.

- Infrequently seen WWE Diva Candice Michelle is hoping to be moved to SmackDown following next week's draft.
The following was sent in from one of the many wrestling fans at TMZ.com:
"I shared a ride to the airport with her and was on her plane leaving Houston. She mentioned she was looking forward to a few days off to heal her ankle more, because she was on it way too much this past weekend.
She also stated that she hopes to be on Smackdown after the draft as it will help in her recovery. Not exactly sure why, but she was extremely nice person."
As previously reported, the June 15th edition of WWE Raw from Charlotte, North Carolina will be a special 3-hour show. The show is rumored to feature a 1-night tournament to crown a 2009 King of the Ring.

Mr. Kennedy revealed in a recent interview with the Miami Herald that his shoulder is not healing and it could become a permanent injury he has to deal with for the remainder of his wrestling career.
"I'm going to find out from Dr. Andrews if that's going to be a permanent thing, and I'll have to deal with it, or if there's something more that we can do, said Kennedy. ''I don't want to do that. I'd rather be 100 percent, but you got to do what you got to do in this business because the bottom line is this business is going to keep rolling with or without me. I'd rather be a part of it and contribute. I think I have a lot to contribute because there are a lot of things that I have yet to accomplish that nobody really has seen out of me. I just want to get back in there and get after it -- win some championships, main event at WrestleMania. I say it year after year after year. If it takes me 10 years to do it, I'm going to do it."

HOUSTON It was just one day after the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, and only a week before everything changes in the 2009 WWE Draft (PREVIEW), but the Superstars of WWE were already looking toward Backlash on Monday Night Raw. As the show received its new permanent General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, two matches were set for the upcoming pay-per-view. More shocking however, was the return of Batista, who after rushing to the aide of Mr. McMahon, WWE Champion Triple H & Shane McMahon, was awarded the WWE Chairmans spot in their Six-Man Tag Team Match against Randy Orton & The Legacy.
Randy Orton began to brutalize Mr. McMahon but was interrupted by WWE Champion Triple H, Shane McMahon and the returning Batista, who will take Mr. McMahons place at Backlash (PHOTOS | WATCH) In the nights main event, Randy Orton attempted to prove his point about Mr. McMahons in-ring abilities. In the midst of putting a hurting on the WWE Chairman, he was interrupted by McMahons son, Shane, who attacked The Legend Killer. But Orton had help of his own waiting in the wings in the form of Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, who rushed to their leaders aid, teaming up on Shane OMac. WWE Champion Triple H then emerged, but he too fell victim to the combined might of The Legacy.
As Orton and his cohorts pummeled The Game, they were shocked to find out there was more opposition that they hadnt counted on: The returning Batista. The Animal stormed down the entrance ramp, evening the odds by chasing Orton & DiBiase from the ring and laying out Rhodes with a Batista Bomb. As the WWE Chairman recovered, he announced that Batista would be taking his place in the Six-Man Tag Team Match at Backlash. (PREVIEW)
Miss WrestleMania Santina Marella def. Beth Phoenix (PHOTOS | WATCH) Raw was graced with an appearance of the newly honored Miss WrestleMania, Santino Marellas twin sister, "Santina." In the midst of thanking the WWE Universe, she was interrupted by Beth Phoenix. The Glamazon was furious about Santina dumping her out of the 25-Diva Battle Royal and challenged her to a match. Santina went on to prove why she holds the title of Miss WrestleMania by pinning Beth for the win.
Vickie Guerrero announced that she is the new permanent General Manager of Raw and that John Cena will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Edge in a Last Man Standing Match at Backlash (WATCH) Though she has been acting as both SmackDown General Manager and interim General Manager of Raw in recent weeks, Vickie Guerrero announced that WWEs Board of Directors had told her that she would have to choose one show to run. Promising to bring her own unique vision to the program, Guerrero revealed that she would be staying on Raw.
As her first act as the shows permanent General Manager, she placed World Heavyweight Champion John Cena into a Last Man Standing Match against her husband Edge at Backlash with the title on the line (PREVIEW). The Raw GM also added a stipulation to the Six-Man Tag Team Match announced earlier in the night, placing the WWE Championship on the line. She clarified that if anyone on Triple Hs team wins, he will retain the title, but if Orton or The Legacy taste victory, then the WWE Title will go to The Legend Killer.
World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, & Ricky Steamboat def. Edge, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy & Kane (PHOTOS | WATCH) Many of the Superstars who just competed on The Grandest Stage of Them All took part in a WrestleMania All-Star Tag Team Match on Raw that featured new World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, new Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio and new Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk on the same powerful team. All that championship gold didnt slow them down at all though, as The Master of the 619 hit Edge and Chris Jericho with a double 619 to pick up the win.
Womens Champion Melina, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Layla & Jillian def. Divas Champion Maryse, Maria, Eve, Gail Kim, & Natalya (PHOTOS) Just one day after they all competed in a massive 25-Diva Battle Royal, five Divas from Raw took on five of their counterparts from SmackDown in tag team action. The ladies of Raw successfully defended their home turf as Mickie James pinned Natalya for the win.
WWE Unified Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. The Miz & John Morrison in a Lumberjack Match (PHOTOS) At the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania brothers Carlito & Primo made history by unifying the WWE and World Tag Team Titles with their defeat of The Miz & John Morrison in a Lumberjack Match. On Raw the following night, the Dirt Sheet duo had a chance to regain Tag Team gold in another Lumberjack Match against the brothers from Puerto Rico. Unfortunately for the self-proclaimed chick magnet & The Shaman of Sexy, they must return to ECW empty-handed after another defeat at the hands of the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions.
Mr. McMahon set a Six-Man Tag Team Match for Backlash and pitted himself against Randy Orton for Raws main event (PHOTOS | WATCH) Randy Orton opened Raw, bitter over his loss to WWE Champion Triple H the night before at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Before he could get further into his threats against The Game and the entire McMahon family however, he was interrupted by the WWE Chairman himself. Mr. McMahon told the venomous Superstar that he wouldnt be getting a rematch, but that he would get to face Triple H again at Backlash, only in a Six-Man Tag Team Match, featuring Triple H, Mr. McMahon & Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton & The Legacy. The insolent Superstar then began to insult his employer for both hiding behind his family and being too old to compete on his own. Not one to stand down from a challenge, Mr. McMahon placed himself into the nights main event against Orton.
The Undertaker was said to have kept to himself over WrestleMania weekend. Several sources are saying he stayed in his hotel room and iced his knees over and over. He's in rough shape these days but keeps on ticking. He'll be taking time off over the next year as will Shawn Michaels.
