Happy New Year to all! Earlier this week myself and wrestling manager Titus Machiavelli welcomed TNA & Global Force Wrestling Founder Jeff Jarrett on our show which you can check out by clicking here.  As many of you know Jeff has been on full media blitz promoting Wrestle Kingdom 9 being presented by his company this Sunday but we managed to ask him some TNA questions in between. Here’s a few highlights:

The RCWR Show: You know, something that’s been a hot topic among hardcore TNA fans over the years has been you and your father (Jerry Jarrett) getting inducted in the TNA Hall of Fame. Ever since it came to fruition back in 2012, fans have been waiting patiently to hear you and your father’s names announced. Now with all due respect to Sting, Kurt Angle, and Team 3D, many including ourselves have noted that there wouldn’t be a TNA without you and your father and guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Bobby Roode, just to name a few. In the past, your wife Karen has taken to Twitter and she’s actually retweeted anyone who advocated for you being in the TNA Hall of Fame. Two-part question for you.  In your eyes, will the TNA Hall of Fame’s legitimacy always be questionable if you and your father aren’t inducted and number two, how much would it mean to you to be acknowledged by TNA and placed in their Hall of Fame? After all, you and your father founded the company.

Jeff Jarrett: Well, the short answer is like I said, about this time last year, I closed the chapter on this book of TNA wrestling. I moved on very excited, have zero regrets about my time there, very grateful and blessed and thankful for my 12 years there. But it was time for me and my family to move on. And so you know, the powers that be at TNA, they choose who they want to choose and more power to them and if that’s their decision and if they believe that’s truly what’s best for TNA business and TNA entertainment, God bless ‘em. I moved on and let that sleeping dog lie.

 The RCWR Show: With regards to Vince Russo, Jim Cornette, and Dutch Mantel, (aka WWE’s Zeb Colter), according to Cornette and Russo, Jim and Dutch did not get along with Russo. How were you able to make it all work and why do you think TNA was so successful during what many had described for that time period being in turmoil?

Jeff Jarrett: The wrestling business has many, many many different philosophies and Dutch has said it on a number of times that he didn’t have anything personally. There was nothing personal that he had a difference with Vince, but on a professional level and a philosophical level, they were on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I wanted to bring different though processes, different minds, different creative thoughts and visions, all in a room and leave that room with one direction. And we were successful, or I was successful some of the time, not all the time. Jim and Dutch, you know, they got a lifetime of experience with multiple different styles and territories and you know? Jim from the Crocketts, my father’s territory,  Dutch from Puerto Rico andall across US. Vince (Russo) came from New York and he only worked for the WWF and then WCW for a brief stint so they come from different backgrounds, different mindsets, and so you know, I don’t know if I’m specifically answering the guy’s question, but me, I like to take a little bit of everybody’s thought processes and meld it into one cohesive vision.

The RCWR Show: If the opportunity presented itself would you be willing to work with Vince Russo again? I believe right now Russo is doing some stuff for a promotion now in the UK. I think it’s Pro Wrestling United Kingdom.

Jeff Jarrett: So at this time, I’m not discussing any of those personnel matters again. I’m not going to change the focus. But I’m happy for Vince, let Vince go do his thing. At Global Force, we’re focused on what we’re doing right now. I don’t foresee that happening in the future.

When Impact Wrestling posted a photo on Instagram of their championship belts under the Christmas tree, some people noticed that the classic Knockout’s Championship was missing. It seems that with the move to Destination America, TNA has also redesigned that women’s title. The belt, which used to feature a white strap with an outdated TNA logo, has been modernized. It now features a black leather strap with a similar design, but with updated logos and colors. Check out the photo below.

In a recent interview with The Huffington Posts’ Royal Ramblings, Jarrett had the following to say on TNA;

Interviewer; We read that you remain a shareholder in TNA. As conspiracy theorists, we wondered if you weren’t just engineering a storyline whereby the newly established GFW takes on TNA to re-establish a Monday Night Wars (WWE vs WCW) scenario and to get people watching both products. Can you reassure us?

“Well, you’ve got to love the wrestling business because stories can just evolve and that’s one of the great parts of it. I can confirm the fact that I’m still a shareholder but completely deny the fact that what you suggest will happen! I’m very happy for TNA, they’ve got their new US distribution deal. It’s good for the business that all promotions are healthy but GFW and TNA are not working together!”

Highlights from AJ Styles’ interview with The Wrestling Observer;

AJ Styles says that TNA has contacted him a couple times to try and get him to come back to the company. AJ said that it’s not going to happen right now and his first priority is New Japan Pro Wrestling. He said that New Japan is home for him. He also said that as long as there are ill feelings toward TNA (from New Japan) then he is not going back to TNA anytime soon.

AJ said that his agent Bill Behrens told him that if he would have signed a new TNA deal last year then it would have worked out great for TNA because they didn’t really do many house shows. The final contract that AJ offered to sign was for them to pay him for shows he works while letting him work outside of TNA.

Sony announced PlayStation Vue last month, which is a cloud-based broadcast TV subscription service. The service is currently in beta and is set to launch in early 2015. There is no word yet on how much subscriptions will cost.

PlayStation Vue beta invites were sent out this past weekend in New York, and TNA’s new home, Discovery which includes Destination America, is one of the over 75 channels that are available on the service.

Former TNA star Crimson was at WWE’s performance center in Orlando Florida this past week. Crimson was rumored to have been offered a one-week tryout at the center for evaluation. He was also in attendance at this past week’s NXT takeover event which aired on the WWE network.

TNA President Dixie Carter has revealed the new iMPACT Wrestling logo for 2015 on Facebook & Twitter;

Despite rumors several weeks ago that TNA Wrestler Austin Aries’ TNA contract is coming up, with uncertainty with his future with the company, he has now confirmed via twitter that he is indeed staying with the company and will be present at the upcoming TNA TV Tapings in New York on January 7th-9th for Destination America.

TNA Knockout Brittany is officially gone from the Impact Wrestling. Brittany, real name Santana Garrett, returned to SHINE yesterday at their iPPV event. Santana first worked for TNA in 2010, and then made her return as a wrestler in 2014. Her most notable feud during her tenure was with Madison Rayne. After that, she aligned her-self with Samuel Shaw in his feud against Gunner. Brittany has not commented on the departure, so it could just be her contract was up and she decided to not re-sign.
