Wrestle-1 officially announced a tournament to crown the first Wrestle-1 World Champion. A tournament of 16 wrestlers, open to Wrestle-1 talent and their direct affiliates has been set up to crown their very first champion.
The tournament format is a 16 man single elimination tourney over the span of 3 days with the tournament ending in one match on October 8th 2014, just a few days before Bound For Glory. The Great Muta noted that he will not be taking part in the tournament and wants younger talent to step up.
Because of the amount of wrestlers and the affiliates clause, it is likely that TNA wrestlers could be involved in the tournament. The tournament begins September 21 2014. Wrestle-1 has not shown off their world title just yet.

TNA has announced that the finals of British Boot Camp will take place in the historic York Hall in London on August 16th.
Kay Lee Ray is rumored to have also gotten an audition, but has not confirmed it.
During this past Mondays WWE, Former TNA Star Consequences Creed working under his new stage name of Xavier Woods formed a new faction with Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley seems to have taken notice and suggested via his twitter account that WWEs new stable is a copy Lashley, MVP and Kenny King in TNA. Lashley tweeted the following:
Speculation on WWE Unifying the US and IC Titles Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/21/2014 at 09:51 AM
We noted before that WWE is planning to have Sheamus vs. The Miz be a longterm feud. With Sheamus recently teasing unification of the United States & Intercontinental Titles and The Miz winning the IC title at Battleground last night, there is more speculation among fans that we could see a unification match between the two, possibly at SummerSlam.
Lana making an apparent reference to the Malaysian flight getting shot down over East Ukraine last week during her promo at WWE Battleground last night is getting picked up by several media outlets, including The Washington Post, and is causing heat from fans on social media. Lana said:
"You blame Russia for the recent current events."
Below are some tweets from fans:
"When the Malaysia plane tragedy is used for a promo...@WWE you've gone too far #WWEBattleground"
"Oh did the WWE just do a Malaysia Airline Tragedy reference? Someone needs to be fired for that"
"Smh #WWE using the #Malaysia tragedy for this promo. #BadTaste"
"The first time the WWE used a giant photograph of Russian President Vladimir Putin to elicit boos for its heels Lana and Rusev, a pair of Eastern Europeans who hate the United States, it was largely looked at as a success. A cheap one, sure, but this is pro wrestling were talking about and there was almost a certain throwback charm about setting up a classic USA vs. Russia feud.
But on Sunday nights Battleground pay-per-view, the shtick became less amusing and more cringeworthy when CJ Parker Perry, the bilingual American who plays Lana, the acerbic Russian manager of Rusev (who both in real life and in the ring hails from Bulgaria), decided to allude to recent current events while ranting on the microphone about how Russia is better than the United States."
What WWE Medics Did to Get Bray Wyatt Ready for RAW
It was said that if you saw Bray Wyatt when he walked into the arena before last night's RAW in Richmond and compared that to how he looked on TV, it was "night & day."
WWE's medical crew worked hard to drain swelling around Wyatt's eye, clean the area up, apply make-up and hide the injury that he suffered during the angle with Ric Flair at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
While Wyatt just came out to the stage to attack Chris Jericho last night, you could tell that he had a black eye.
- Word from backstage at last night's RAW is that Seth Rollins is fine and is not injured. A source said Rollins was just selling the knee injury from the main event and doing a good job of it. It was noted that it was suspicious how WWE kept the cameras off Rollins when he went down.
- Since fans have asked, Dean Ambrose is fine after the beatdown angle with Kane, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton on last night's RAW. Apparently he was busted open in the mouth but did not suffer any significant injury.
BREAKING NEWS: Former WWE Executive and commentator Jim Ross has reached out to CM Punk to plead with him to re s...ign a contract with WWE stating it would be a smart thing to do for his long term future. At 3:43pm, Sunday 13th of July, CM Punk faxed in papers to WWE Headquarters signing a 6 month contract. The reason he signed such a small contract was so he could decide what he wants to do before Wrestlemania 31. Ross says Punk will only sign on if he is included in the Main Event of Wrestlemania 31 and with Roman Reigns expected to win Royal Rumble in 2015, there is a possibility that the main event will be between Punk and Reigns. Sources close to WWE creative, say that if Daniel Bryan is strong enough to compete, with not knowing his status at the moment, he could also be included. But it has been confirmed by sources close to Triple H that CM Punk WILL, i repeat WILL be on Raw tonight. Also with Punk signing on, Vince Mcmahon has offered Jim Ross a contract to be a road agent again but it is expected he will decline due to JR wanting to do his own thing. With Ric Flair expecting to return tonight, CM Punk returning could impact ratings very positively. As of now, creative are still deciding what storyline the want Punk to be in but it is expected they will make there decision an hour or two before the show starts.
Unless something changes, Matt Hardy's final date with Ring of Honor will be tonight. Hardy had been booked on future dates but ROH officials weren't happy about him working TNA's recent New York City tapings.
The competition between ROH and TNA continues as TNA has been calling up ROH talents without contracts and both are now pay-per-view promotions. ROH is on a strict budget from parent company Sinclair Broadcasting so a big talent bidding war is unlikely.
TNA has been in hot pursuit of Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, known as reDRagon. Their ROH contracts expired and TNA wants them to come in and work a feud with The Wolves.
Former TNA star The Prince Of Punk Shannon Moore revealed via his twitter account that his in-ring career is over. He wrote the following:

WWE's website has confirmed that Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett suffered a shoulder injury during Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings in Pittsburgh.
WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann spoke to WWE's website and said Barrett " ... sustained an injury to his right shoulder when he was thrown into the barricade by Jack Swagger."
"After Barrett felt an immediate pain and a pop," continued Amann, "we brought him back to the training room and the exam showed a separated shoulder. Were going to do some additional testing this week and then sit down with him and talk about options for treatment for this injury.
No decision has been made yet regarding Barrett's participation at Money In the Bank.
As noted, WWE Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett suffered an apparent shoulder injury at tonight's SmackDown tapings in Pittsburgh in a post-match segment after facing Dean Ambrose.
We've received conflicting reports on whether or not the referee actually threw up the "X" symbol and if Barrett was helped to the back by medics but our correspondents agree that he was clearly in pain. Fans heard Barrett repeating "F bombs" on his way to the back. We've also learned that Jack Swagger may have been involved in the injury and that Barrett took a hard fall on the shoulder.
According to multiple correspondents at tonight's WWE SmackDown tapings in Pittsburgh, Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury, possibly a separated shoulder.
After his match with Dean Ambrose, there was a post-match segment where Barrett went down and clutched his shoulder. The referee threw up the "X" symbol and brought out WWE medics, who helped Barrett to the back. We hope to have an update later.
