One Reason Why WWE Isn't Pushing Dolph Ziggler Posted by Steve Carrier on 06/16/2014 at 10:41 AM
It's said that a big part of why Dolph Ziggler isn't getting pushed is one of the same reasons that Christian isn't being used - his history of injuries and concussions.
It was said that WWE can't push Ziggler and trust him a top guy because he's injury prone and had a history of taking time off. This applies to a few other talents as well. There's a feeling that some talents are just "snakebit" in that regard.
It appears WWE has dropped the team of Kalisto and El Local (Ricardo Rodriguez) after their loss to The Ascension at NXT Takeover. They did not work together at the tapings after Takeover and didn't work together at this past week week's tapings. Kalisto debuted a new team with Sin Cara at Thursday night's tapings.
Ricardo continues to work out at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and has reportedly been helping to train some of the NXT Divas. He's also been backstage at recent main roster events.
Kurt Angle Just announced during TNAs Slammiversary pay per view that Team 3D, Bully Ray and Devon will be inducted into the TNA Hall Of Fame. Congratulations to them!

What Happened After Tonight's WWE RAW Posted by Steve Carrier on 06/02/2014 at 11:59 PM
After tonight's WWE RAW ended in Indianapolis, Seth Rollins, Triple H and Randy Orton wanted around while officials checked on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Triple H shook hands with Rollins and they embraced a few times.
John Cena came out, as did Bray Wyatt in a pair of warm-up pants. They teased having a match but Bray just ended up singing "he's got the whole world in his hands." Cena responded with his own rendition, "you got no pearls in your pants."
The bell finally rang and they had a quick match. Cena applied the STF on Wyatt but the referee took a bump as Erick Rowan and Luke Harper came out. They beat Cena down but Cena recovered, cleared the ring and hit an Attitude Adjustment on Wyatt for the pin.
Seth Rollins was trending worldwide tonight after he turned on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose on RAW, apparently joining Triple H and Randy Orton in Evolution. On the RAW post-show, Renee Young tried to get comment from Rollins but he just smirked and walked off. Triple H told Renee that the only thing she needs to know is, "I win."
WWE posted a backstage photo of Rollins, Orton and Triple H after RAW:
- Below are a few Twitter reactions from around the wrestling world on Rollins turning:
Lisa Marie Varon: "I'm loving this @WWE . Yayyy! @WWERollins joins Evolution"
Sasha Banks: "Why Seth why? #RAW"
Sean Waltman: "Hey Rollins is sick of being overlooked for Reigns. ;) This could really be a key moment in Rollins career in WWE. I wish him the best."
Drew McIntyre: "Shield implode and 3MB keep on rolling #longevity #Forever!!!Forever!!!Forever!!!"
- For those who missed it, The Shield celebrated as Dean Ambrose threw chairs into the ring after WWE Payback went off the air tonight in Chicago. They also posed on top of the announcers table as the crowd cheered them.
- CM Punk and AJ Lee were shown in the front row for tonight's Chicago Blackhawks vs. LA Kings game, also in Chicago. Punk was tweeting all during the game, which saw Chicago lose in overtime. Punk made up with Kings mascot Bailey after the game and tweeted the following:
"Congrats to the western conference @LAKings Amazing hockey team. Amazing series. #lakvschi #BecauseItsTheCup"
Stephanie McMahon Mentions CM Punk Posted by Steve Carrier on 06/01/2014 at 11:00 PM
- Daniel Bryan did not hand over the WWE World Heavyweight Title at tonight's Payback pay-per-view in Chicago. The segment with he, Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon ended before a decision could be made on the title. Brie ended up quitting, in the storylines obviously, and slapping Stephanie. Stephanie left the ring before demanding the title from Bryan.
During her promo at Bryan, a loud CM Punk chant broke out. Stephanie mentioned Punk and told Bryan, "The fans want you to quit just like CM Punk did."
Backstage News on Why WWE Didn't Sign Ricochet Posted by Steve Carrier on 05/31/2014 at 10:39 AM
We noted before that top indie wrestler Ricochet had a tryout with WWE several months ago at a camp. Word is that he was very good in the ring but still wasn't offered a deal. A person close to WWE developmental said Ricochet was a victim of timing and circumstances.
Apparently when Ricochet came in, there were younger wrestlers in developmental who reacted to him like he was a big deal but to WWE, he's just a guy who they don't know that's getting a tryout for a developmental deal. It's said that because officials didn't know who he was and got the reaction that he did from talents, that was the first strike against him until producer Jamie Noble outright told people that Ricochet is really something special.
In the end, Noble's praise didn't help and he wasn't offered a deal. While Ricochet received high marks from those that judge talents at the tryouts, the decision was that they already have too many guys of his size in developmental and they have more than their quota of high flyers, as we've heard with other cases.
According to f4wonline, MVP suffered a knee injury last night in Preston, UK for Preston City Wrestling. He was wrestling in a tag match, teaming with PCW champ Joey Hayes, vs Kris Travis & Danny Hope. Towards the end of the match whilst brawling outside the ring with Travis, MVP suffered a knee injury that he later categorized as popping his knee. He immediately limped to the back. He was in town for a PCW Supershow 4 weekend, where they book a lot of international stars across 3 shows on Friday & Saturday. reDRagon, Hurricane Helms, Al Snow, Juventud Guerrera, Chris Masters & Uhaa Nation also featured. Also in town was Jeremy Borash, who guest ring announced the Friday night main event & was at the Meet & Greet this afternoon.
MVP was set to face Kris Travis in a singles match tonight but was on crutches. He cut a promo at the start of the show, explaining that he couldnt wrestle tonight. He said that he heard his knee pop & went to the hospital today for an x-ray. He said it was inconclusive and that hed need an MRI done.
MVP is currently scheduled to face TNA Champion Eric Young at Slammiversary in two weeks. Whether this injury has any affect on that match has yet to be determined.
Prowrestling.net reports that Ring of Honor Kevin Steen is expected to be offered a WWE developmental deal soon. It's also reported that top indie stars ACH and Rocky Romero will not be offered deals. They attended the same WWE tryout camp as Steen, Roderick Strong and Willie Mack, who we noted earlier is close to being signed. No word yet on Strong.
- While Daniel Bryan's neck injury is being portrayed backstage like it's not a big deal and Bryan will be fine, there are people really worried about what doctors will find when they go in for surgery on Thursday.
WWE to Make Announcement Regarding the WWE Title Posted by Steve Carrier on 05/13/2014 at 10:05 PM
It was announced on tonight's WWE Main Event that there will be announcement concerning the status of the WWE World Heavyweight Title on this coming Monday's RAW, which will be taped from London. As noted, current champion Daniel Bryan will be having neck surgery on Thursday.
Jarrett's GFW Announces First Talent Search Posted by Steve Carrier on 05/14/2014 at 03:09 PM
Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling announced the following today:
Global Force Wrestling set for first 'official' talent search
Search/seminar to be held in Ontario, Canada
NASHVILLE Global Force Wrestling will hit the road for its first official talent search and seminar, which will take place on June 1 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
GFW CEO and founder Jeff Jarrett knows well the great tradition of pro wrestling in Canada and the number of top stars the country has produced. He and Owen Hart of the legendary Hart Family were WWE tag team champions, and several Canadian stars made names for themselves while in Jarretts TNA promotion.
The seminar also will reunite Jarrett with renowned pro wrestling trainer Scott DAmore, who will help conduct the event at the North American Sports and Hobby Expo inside the WFCU Centre. DAmore brought Team Canada to TNA, and he also trained such current indie wrestling superstars as Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Petey Williams, Rhino and Tyson Dux.
Professional wrestling is part of the DNA of Canada, Jarrett said. It felt like a natural not only to have our first official talent search there but to have it under the tutelage of Scott DAmore, a longtime friend and as knowledgeable as anyone when it comes to discovering and fostering talent.
Coupled with our partnership with Mexicos AAA promotion, this is another key step in establishing the reach of Global Force Wrestling.
Jarrett and DAmore will evaluate the wrestlers in attendance as they engage in brief matches and cut promos.
Its an honor to have Global Force Wrestling bring its first talent search to my hometown, DAmore said. Jeff Jarrett is a third-generation promoter, and he knows what he wants. Hes going to have high expectations. I know he will be relentless in his pursuit in finding the best undiscovered talent in the world.
Wrestlers interested in attending the seminar should check globalforcewrestling.com/seminar for complete details.
Backstage News on Why TNA Released Frankie Kazarian
As noted before, Frankie Kazarian finished up with TNA at this weekend's Impact Wrestling tapings. His release came because TNA simply did not want to sign him to a new deal. This is part of the ongoing cutbacks that have been going on since summer 2013.
The feeling was that Kazarian was making more money than TNA was comfortable paying him going forward. Instead of keeping veterans like Kazarian around, TNA is going with signing new, younger talents. It was noted that with the money they were paying Kazarian, TNA can pay for 2 new guys.
It's said that money is tighter than ever for the company.
Chris Sabin Removed From Active Roster, More Roster Changes Made
TNA has officially moved Chris Sabin to the alumni section of their official roster page, confirming longstanding rumors that he was expected to part ways with the company.
In addition to the news of Sabins departure, the profiles for Rob Terry and Knux have also been removed completely. In their place, The menagerie has been added as their own roster spot.
Joseph Park who was revealed to in fact be Abyss has also been removed from the roster page. Last but not least, Bram has now officially been added to the Impact Wrestling Roster page.
