Batista Says He Warned WWE About a Babyface Return
Batista recently spoke with The Washington Post to promote WrestleMania XXX. Below are some highlights:
Returning as a babyface: "They told me that I was going to come back and be this huge babyface. I said, 'no, its not going to work.' They said, 'no way, theyre dying for you to come back.' I said, 'thats going to last two minutes, just watch.' And sure enough it did."
Fans hijacking the show: "They used to want to interact with the show, but now the crowd almost wants to be the show. Well, if you wanna be the show, take your a-- to wrestling school, just like I did, just like everybody else here who is busting their a-- and actually become part of the show! Dont just sit in the audience and try to randomly steal the show."
- We noted before that Charles "The Godfather, Papa Shango" Wright is staying at the WWE hotel in New Orleans. It turns out he was flown in by WWE. Two other names that were brought to New Orleans are Lanny Poffo and Danny Davis. This is the first time in a long time that WWE has used either Poffo or Davis.
- TNA has announced that X Division Champion Sanada will defend the title against Daniels on April 17th at a Wrestle-1 event in Tokyo, Japan. This could be a sign that Daniels has re-signed with TNA.
New TNA Unfinished Business and One Night Only Pay Per Views Announced
Indemand.com has published more info on this months TNA Wrestling: Unfinished Business pay per view event for this month. The pay per view is titled Unfinished Business Maximum Impact Tour and will cover some behind the scenes content from this past Januarys Maximum Impact Tour of the UK. Here is a description of the pay per view on Indemands website:
In 2014 the superstars of TNAs impact wrestling embarked on a memorable international tour. Join TNA wrestling in the ring and behind the scenes in Glasgow, Dublin, London and more for Unfinished Business: Maximum Impact.
The pay per view is approximately 1 hour long.
Multiple reports have also surfaced claiming that the following small scale TNA pay per view will be TNAs One Night Only: Jokers Wild 2 pay per view which is expected to air next month.
Brooke Tessmacher Hints That She May Be Done With TNA
TNA Knockout Brooke Tessmacher has really been keeping quiet as of late but in a recent facebook posting, she has indicated that she is making some new career moves and may be done with the company and actively pursuing things outside of TNA.
She wrote the following:
Life couldnt be anymore perfect right now New Mercedes, beautiful new smile, new career moves, the most kickass fans in the world, wonderful family, new beautiful apartment with city skyline views, and the most amazing man any women could ask for Robbie Strauss
Interestingly enough she also confirmed her relationship with TNA Star Robbie E. Brooke has not been seen on TNA television since February and her latest Facebook post suggests that shes working on .
- The Rock told CinemaBlend that almost 50 people were fired from working on the Hercules movie because they tried to take photos of Rock in costume for the lead role. Rock and movie producers were very serious about keeping the full look of Hercules under wraps. Rock said:
I would say maybe close to 50 people were fired crew members all trying to sneak pictures. Theres mandate and we all agreed on that.
As noted, Batista recently spoke with Mike Jones of DC 101 in Washington, DC. Batista commented on the WWE fans hijacking shows these days:
"It's the whole show that they are missing out on. I love that they love Daniel Bryan, it's great. He deserves all of his success, but at the same time, we can't have 16 segments of Daniel Bryan. They would get bored really fast. He is a star on the show, he's gonna be out there eventually. If you chant his name through every other match that's going on, it's just... they're missing out."
- As announced by WWE yesterday, they have officially released Luis Urive, the original Sin Cara. His contract actually expired a few months back but WWE had a non-compete clause put in to where they were still paying him his downside even though they weren't using him. Urive still insists on Twitter that he will be using the Sin Cara name in Mexico.
WWE announced they have released the original Sin Cara:
"WWE has come to terms on the release of Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde effective on March 26, 2014. We wish Luis the best of luck in his future endeavors."
More Backstage Talk About Retirement for Christian
As noted, Christian suffered a minor concussion on Monday's RAW in the Fatal 4 Way with Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio. This is Christian's second concussion within a one year period.
Even before this second concussion, there had been a lot of talk about his active in-ring career coming to an end. Talk started months ago that when Christian's current contract expires he would probably retire because he was 40, had been getting injured and creative had no real plans for him.
Those stories of him retiring surfaced again this week with the idea that Christian would make a great NXT trainer.
- The dark match before tonight's WWE TV tapings in Boston saw Alexander Rusev defeat Xavier Woods by submission.
- The dark match after tonight's Main Event and before the SmackDown tapings began saw Cesaro defeat Kofi Kingston after a Cesaro Swing and a Neutralizer.
- WWE's website notes that Christian was pulled from the Intercontinental Title match on Main Event because he suffered a slight concussion at RAW.
WWE posted the following in regards to Christian not competing on tonight's WWE Main Event episode for the Intercontinental title:
WWE.com has received word from backstage at TD Garden in Boston that Christian will not be competing tonight against Intercontinental Champion Big E.

RUMOR: Former TNA Knockout Sarita Works WWE Tryout
Spanish language site Primera Cuerda is reporting that Former TNA Knockout Sarita, real name Sarah Stock had a week-long tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando back in December of 2013.
Since parting ways with TNA back in January 2013 Stock has been wrestling in Mexico and Japan. Earlier this month, Stock was seen attending a WWE RAW event in Chicago with another former TNA Knockout, Tara.
Samoa Joe Interview: Says TNAs Problems Are Blown Out Of Proportion
TNA Star Samoa Joe was recently interviewed by the UKs Mirror newspaper. In the interview Joe speaks on the state of TNA, internet speculation, being back in the main event and more. Below is a quick recap.
On rumors of troubles within TNA:
I honestly think its being blown out of a proportion I think Im beyond just sitting here and knocking people for what they do, but I mean, I see the company doing well.
I think its growing I would love the company to build, and tear up those preconceptions so we can be seen in a better light You can sit here, speculate all you want, or you can get something done and make a difference.
On being back in the main event picture:
I mean, the recognition, getting recognised for what you can do in the ring, is definitely awesome. But I mean, as far as being an accomplishment Ive been ready, whenever they need me to step into this position. Im just obviously looking forward to continuing to pushing on.
On the recent changes in TNA:
Different in the sense that a young talent are getting more of a chance now. Thats not just to do with AJ, but theres a lot of things within TNA that have changed.
RUMOR: Aj Styles Signs With New Japan Pro Wrestling?
According to WrestleZone (via The Wrestling Observer) Former TNA Star AJ Styles has inked a one year deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Both styles and the company have agreed to keep quiet on the deal, before making an official announcement.
Styles left TNA in 2013 when his contract expired. Ultimately TNA and AJ could not come to terms on a new contract, leading to his TNA departure.
DLo Brown Speaks On The Failed TNA vs WWE Monday Night Wars
Brady Hicks of IN THE ROOM interviewed former TNA agent DLo Brown. In the interview DLo speaks on the failed TNA vs WWE Monday Night wars that took place back in 2010.
On TNA Trying to Compete with WWE:
When [Hulk] Hogan and [Eric] Bischoff came in, there was also that sense of feeling that we could do something. And it just never really materialized like I envisioned it would There was a sense of momentum, it was an excitement, it was a euphoria that was running through the locker room. Were going to go live, were moving from Thursday, were going to jump on Monday, and were going to attack the bear. And by us jumping back to Thursday about a month later that let everyone know that the bear kicked our ass. That was very, very deflating.

LeiD Tapa Shoots Down Rumor About Her TNA Departure
Former TNA Knockout Leid Tapa is denying she was fired from TNA due to a lack of willingness to learn. A rumor was going around that Tapa was let go due to her lack of skill, as well as being refereed to as a ticking time bomb.
Tapa responded on Twitter saying that the rumor was false, though her departure was indeed TNAs decision. Tapa returned to one of OVWs wrestling classes today, to perfect her craft.
OVW has confirmed that former TNA Knockout LeiD Tapa will be returning to the promotion on a more regular basis. Tapa spent a number of months in OVW as part of the short-lived developmental facility for TNA. She has since appeared for the promotion less sporadically since entering the main TNA Knockouts Roster.
As we reported earlier, Tapa and TNA parted ways. Tapa had her final match against TNA star Gail Kim on this past weeks Impact Wrestling broadcast.
