Samoa Joe Interview: Says TNA’s Problems Are Blown Out Of Proportion

TNA Star Samoa Joe was recently interviewed by the UK’s Mirror newspaper. In the interview Joe speaks on the state of TNA, internet speculation, being back in the main event and more. Below is a quick recap.

On rumors of troubles within TNA:

“I honestly think it’s being blown out of a proportion … I think I’m beyond just sitting here and knocking people for what they do, but I mean, I see the company doing well.

“I think it’s growing … I would love the company to build, and tear up those preconceptions so we can be seen in a better light … You can sit here, speculate all you want, or you can get something done and make a difference.”

On being back in the main event picture:

“I mean, the recognition, getting recognised for what you can do in the ring, is definitely awesome. But I mean, as far as being an accomplishment – I’ve been ready, whenever they need me to step into this position. I’m just obviously looking forward to continuing to pushing on.”

On the recent changes in TNA:

“Different in the sense that a young talent are getting more of a chance now. That’s not just to do with AJ, but there’s a lot of things within TNA that have changed.”

D’Lo Brown Speaks On The Failed TNA vs WWE Monday Night Wars

Brady Hicks’ of IN THE ROOM interviewed former TNA agent D’Lo Brown. In the interview D’Lo speaks on the failed TNA vs WWE Monday Night wars that took place back in 2010.

On TNA Trying to Compete with WWE:

“When [Hulk] Hogan and [Eric] Bischoff came in, there was also that sense of feeling that we could do something. And it just never really materialized like I envisioned it would … There was a sense of momentum, it was an excitement, it was a euphoria that was running through the locker room. We’re going to go live, we’re moving from Thursday, we’re going to jump on Monday, and we’re going to attack the bear. And by us jumping back to Thursday about a month later that let everyone know that the bear kicked our ass. That was very, very deflating.”

Hicks also speaks to D’Lo about his time in TNA, The Attitude era, Nation of Domination faction and much more.

Lei’D Tapa Shoots Down Rumor About Her TNA Departure

Former TNA Knockout Lei’d Tapa is denying she was fired from TNA due to a lack of willingness to learn. A rumor was going around that Tapa was let go due to her lack of skill, as well as being refereed to as a “ticking time bomb.”

Tapa responded on Twitter saying that the rumor was false, though her departure was indeed TNA’s decision. Tapa returned to one of OVW’s wrestling classes today, to perfect her craft.

    Lei’D Tapa Returning To OVW

OVW has confirmed that former TNA Knockout Lei’D Tapa will be returning to the promotion on a more regular basis. Tapa spent a number of months in OVW as part of the short-lived developmental facility for TNA. She has since appeared for the promotion less sporadically since entering the main TNA Knockouts Roster.

As we reported earlier, Tapa and TNA parted ways. Tapa had her final match against TNA star Gail Kim on this past week’s Impact Wrestling broadcast.

TNA Knockout Rumors: New Valet Coming Into The Company? Former Knockout Returning?
Last week TNA Knockout Christy Hemme seemed to have accidentally tweeted a photo set featuring a female model. In looks like a separate photo set, the woman is shown alongside a man who looks to be former aces & 8's member Knux. This could be a hint that the two are headed to TNA soon. Hemme deleted the photos shorty thereafter. TNAInsider reader Jonatan Delwit managed to save one of the photos from his cache and sent it along with this new tip.

In addition to the rumor-mill, the official Impact Wrestling twitter account and the account of President Dixie Carter were spotted following former Knockout Angelina Love. The two followed Love a few hours later but this could be an indicator that Angelina could be on her way back into the company.

TNA Confirms Knockout Signing: Santana Going By New Name!

TNA Confirms Knockout Signing: Santana Going By New Name!

We reported awhile back that Santana Garrett was indeed signed by Impact Wrestling. TNA and Christy Hemme made the official announcement today. Santana will now be going by the ring name Brittany. The Impact Wrestling website did an interview with her, which you can read below.

"TNA Wrestling is happy to announce the official signing of our newest TNA Knockout - Brittany! The newcomer will make her TNA debut LIVE on Thursday's IMPACT broadcast on SpikeTV! Follow Brittany on Twitter @BrittanyTNA"

Welcome to the Knockouts Brittany, we are so excited to get you in the mix!! Tell us about your wrestling history...

"My friends and family would describe me as a down to earth, girl next door, happy, hard working lover of life! Being a second generation wrestler, I pretty much grew up in this business. My father was a professional wrestler on the independent scene and ran a wrestling promotion out of Ocala, FL and later in St Louis, MO. My actual training began in St Louis in 2009. After a few short months and the completion of my college education, I made the move back to "The Sunshine State”, and now I am SO excited that I get to make my IMPACT Wrestling debut right here in Florida!"

What is life like for you outside of the ring?

"Life outside of the ring is just as great as inside. I have never been healthier, never felt stronger! I am surrounded by so many people who love and support me. I have worked in Sleep Medicine caring for patients who have sleep related breathing disorders. When I am not wrestling, a good amount of my time goes to my family. I have 2 sisters, and five little brothers. I also spend a lot of time training, sewing, and hanging out with my rescue dog, Charlie :)"

What makes you perfect for the Knockouts Division?

"The Knockouts Division is the absolute best women's wrestling division in the world, and that's what I strive for. It’s not about just their beauty but how well they fight. I've put in the time and effort whether in the gym or training in the ring, and I am determined to be the best. I truly believe this is my time to prove it to the world that this is exactly where I am supposed to be and this is exactly what I was meant to do! "

Is there anyone in the division that you look up to and admire?

"One Knockout that I really look up to is Madison Rayne. Look at her history… it says everything about her. We share a lot in common on our career path and now I get to follow in her footsteps. I hope to prove myself the same way she did."

You beat out many girls to earn this coveted spot, congratulations, what does the future look like for Brittany?

"Thank you! I've worked hard to get to this moment…. I’m thankful someone finally gave me a chance. This is a huge opportunity and my journey starts this Thursday. I am very eager to step into the ring on Impact, to travel the world, be a part of division of women respected in the industry and be able to show what I’m really made of. For all of you who have followed me to this point, you have only seen the first chapter of my story… the pages are going to start turning very fast!"

Bobby Lashley Returns To TNA At Lockdown

Bobby Lashley Returns To TNA At Lockdown

Former WWE and TNA Superstar Bobby Lashley made his return to TNA Wrestling during Sunday night's Lockdown pay-per-view event from Miami, FL.

During the show, EC3 (Ethan Carter III) made his way to the ring and cut a promo about having a dream. He said that when he was a young wrestler he always wanted to face the best. He discussed Kurt Angle winning an Olympic gold medal and being the only person to do that and then transitioned into pro wrestling. He called Angle one of the best wrestlers of all time.

EC3 then said that he was issuing an open challenge to anyone on the TNA roster. During this, he told the fans not to try and hijack "this show." Bobby Lashley's music then hit and he came out to a nice sized pop. EC3 complained as Lashley made his way to the ring, claiming that Lashley wasn't on the TNA roster. The fans chanted "Bobby, Bobby."

EC3 then tried to take a cheap shot but Lashley ducked it, scooped him up and hit a running powerslam. Lashley then speared him as his music played to end he segment.

Maria Kanellis Discusses WWE Return Rumors & More

Maria Kanellis Discusses WWE Return Rumors & More

Former WWE Diva and current "First Lady of ROH" Maria Kanellis was recently interviewed by BetweenTheRopes.com. During the interview, she hyped the weekend ROH events and also discussed rumors of a WWE return and more. You can check out some highlights of the interview below:

On rumors last year that she was returning to WWE: "Here's the thing. I was asked to go back last year (to WWE). It fell through and that is all I know. I mean I had heard lots of other things. I had heard other things from different people. But at the end of the day, the fact is I didn't go back. So no matter what happened and who knows, I mean I don't know nobody knows what really happened. But I didn't go back and I'm very happy to be at Ring of Honor. So, I apologized to the Bellas for everything that happened and that was it. I talked to them (the Bellas) and decided you know what, water under the bridge and that's it. I guess I could be angry forever, but I'm not going to be (laughing). Because there's no reason for it. I don't want to be angry or upset because I don't know."

On not returning to WWE being a "blessing in disguise" for her: "It totally was (blessing in disguise). I realized that within a month of it happening, I realized how much of a blessing it was. I don't know if I want to be on the road 300 days a year. I don't know if I want that anymore. I really enjoy my time at home and I enjoy going to school and I enjoy seeing my fiancé at work. I don't know if I want that life anymore. So maybe some part of the universe decided you know what, you don't really want that life anymore. I loved WrestleMania, loved traveling the globe and it was great, fun and exciting, but I've done it. So for me, this is exactly where I should be now. I have no hard feelings whatsoever with anybody. I just want all women in wrestling to succeed now. I'm getting married later this year and Big Daddy V passed away and that was so tragically sad. I just have no desire to angry, no desire whatsoever."

Report: Batista & Fan Involved In Incident Last Night

Report: Batista & Fan Involved In Incident Last Night

There was reportedly an incident at last night's WWE house show in Winnipeg, Manitoba between Batista and a local DJ who was sitting at ringside. The person in question was a local morning DJ named Cam Carson, who works for Power 97 in Winnipeg. The station was promoting the show and was listed as a sponsor for the event.

According to a live report, Batista was seen jawing with Carson before a match. When Batista returned to the ring, Carson hit Batista in the back/shoulder area. This then led to Batista forcefully shoving him down. Carson then reportedly tried to jump the railing but was stopped and spoken to by security, who then allowed him to remain. Batista then wrestled a match against Big Show.

Later on, Batista flipped off Carson as he passed him while circling the ring. Carson then started "losing it" and tried to jump the railing again, at which point he was walked out by security. It's not been confirmed if this was a publicity stunt or legitimate. WWE performers who physically interact with fans in an aggressive way are legitimately fined by the company. Mark Henry previously said it was a $10,000 fine during an interview.

    Complete TNA Lockdown 2014 Results
Bad Influence & Chris Sabin vs. Great Muta & TNA X-Division champion Senada & Yasufumi Nakanoue.
Bad Influence came out dressed in a parody of Great Muta during his NWA run in the 80s. They called Yasufui just “Yasu.” Bit of a Muta chant when he came to the ring.
Sabin and Senada started out. Sabin offered his hand but Senada wanted nothing to do with it. They locked up and Sabin worked over his arm. Senada and Sabin went back and forth until Sabin thumbed him in the eye and shoulderblocked him down. Senada blocked a hiptoss and locked in an abdominal stretch.
Yasu and Kaz tagged in. They exchanged holds until Kazarian clotheslined him down. Kaz missed a leap into the corner and was hiptossed down and caught in a side headlock. Muta tagged in to a nice pop and nailed the corkscrew elbow and locked in an STF. Daniels attacked Muta to break it up but was taken out with a thrust kick. Muta shot the green mist in the air.

Yasu tagged in. He fought off Influence but was knocked backwards into the cage and grabbed at his neck. They worked him over and Sabin tagged in and dropkicked him as he was held. They took turns tagging in and out working over Yasu. They worked him over for a long time but he kept kicking out.
Senada finally made the hot tag and cleaned house but was cut off by Bad Influence. He ducked under and Daniels accidentally clotheslined Kaz. Muta tagged in and nailed Dragonscrew Legwhips on everyone and locked in a leglock for a submission. He was double teamed but sprayed the green mist in Kaz’s face. Senada nailed a stunner on him. Muta nailed the shining wizard on Daniels. Senada nailed a moonsault for the pin.
    Your winners, Team Wrestle-1!

Rockstar Spud marched to the ring and introduced TNA President Dixie Carter. She came out on the stage and said that unlike King James, she has earned her role as Queen. She said that she’s shown her business prowess but feels like some of the fans still don’t believe in her. She said some of the Miami Hurricanes look like they were hit by a hurricane. She said that MVP has pushed her and forced her to do something tonight that no one will ever anticipate. She’s going to hit a shooting star press? She said that she’s the one who went to NYC and got an insurance card that she’s keeping in her back pocket. She said that if Jeff Hardy even tries to enter the venue tonight, she will have him thrown out.
Backstage Jeremy Borash was backstage. Velvet Sky is answering questions all night long online. Eric Young was interviewed by Borash and said everything changes tonight after Lethal Lockdown.

    Samuel Shaw vs. Ken Anderson
Shaw was upset Christy Hemme was nowhere to be found at ringside. He took a mic and scaled to the top of the steel cage and sat atop of it. He called for Hemme to come out and said, “Someone’s not keeping it professionally. If Christy Hemme doesn’t come out here, I’m going to professionally end it all.” He began standing on the cage as if he was going to jump. Yeah, let’s make suicide threats part of the storyline. Wonderful. The crowd was chanting, “Creepy bastard” during all of this.
Mr. Anderson came out and interrupted him with his big ring introduction. He told Shaw he doesn’t want to jump off, because it’s not high enough. The crowd chanted for Shaw to jump. Anderson said that he’ll just twist or break an ankle and he’ll look like more of a goof than he normally does. He told Shaw needs at least four or five stories to jump from. He told Shaw to come down. He told Shaw he would beat him up a little bit and then drive him anywhere he wants to go.
Anderson entered the cage as Shaw began climbing down. The announcers said it was “escape the cage” rules for this match. Shaw and Anderson began battling back and forth. Anderson had the early advantage. Hemme walked down to the ring and cheered on Anderson. Anderson whipped Shaw hard into the buckles but was kicked off during a charge. Shaw tried to climb the cage but was pulled down.

Anderson went for the Mic Check but Shaw fired back. Anderson kneed him and nailed a Gutwrench suplex. Shaw stomped away at Anderson and choked him. Shaw climbed up but was pulled back down by Anderson. He nailed a series of right hands and slammed Anderson into the cage face-first.
There was, what I believe, was a quick CM Punk chant.

Anderson and Shaw battled on the top until Anderson caught him with a belly to back suplex off the top. That was a pretty cool looking spot. Shaw took a nasty looking bump there. Shaw recovered and sent Anderson into the cage. He saw Hemme and waved to her, staring intently at her, then told the referee to unlock the door. Anderson came from behind and kneed Shaw, sending him into the still locked door, which slammed into referee Earl Hebner and laid him out.

Anderson grabbed the unconscious Shaw and set up for the Mic Check, then drilled him facefirst into the buckles. The crowd chanted, “TNA” as Hemme cheered and clapped. Shaw was unconscious. Anderson climbed over the top for the win. No referee to call the bell. Shaw grabbed Hemme’s arm through a hole cut open in the cage for the cameraman to shoot through. He pulled Hemme through the opening and trapped her in the cage. Shaw menaced Hemme in the cage, who slapped him.
Anderson grabbed the keys and unlocked the cage, grabbing Shaw and saving Hemme. He had Hemme leave but was lowblowed from behind and choked out. Hemme was freaked and ran backstage upset. Shaw walked out of the open door and the referee rang the bell, not even concerned with how the door was opened while he was unconscious.
    Your winner, Sam Shaw!

From a storyline perspective, this was fine but probably too early on the card to do the ref bumps, screwy finish, etc. It made sense for the story though. The match itself was more of a backdrop for the angle at the end but a good spot off the top.
Backstage, Team Roode was discussing the match. Austin Aries wanted to know what the insurance policy Dixie was talking about earlier. Roode said he didn’t know but soon enough, they’d be done with MVP. Roode said he would start. The others wanted a piece of his promised 10%.

    EC3 vs. ?
With Kurt Angle out, the story is that EC3 has issued an open challenge to anyone on the roster. My guess is that it’s Abyss.
EC3 cut a promo saying that when he was young, he had a dream to face the best. He said that Kurt Angle is the best, but so is EC3. The crowd chanted, "You can't wrestle" and he responded, "I disagree" and "I'm EC3" in a really funny way. Good way to play off the crowd. He said that it's interesting timing for Angle to schedule his surgery and said he's ready for anyone to face the "new American idol." He asked who is was going to be. The crowd was booing and he told them not to hijack the crowd. That was funny.
Out came Bobby Lashley. I didn't see that one coming.

Lashley came out EC3 said Lashley’s not on the roster. Lashley entered the cage and EC3 told him he’s a Carter and he’s office (at least he didn’t say he’s Network) and he knows Lashley didn’t have a TNA deal. He warned Lashley that he saw what happened to Kurt Angle and ordered Lashley to leave the ring.
Lashley ducked a clothesline attempt and nailed an over the shoulder running powerslam. Lashley speared him. Carter rolled out of the ring and Lashley celebrated.
Just an angle but as a surprise, it came off well. EC3 was absolutely great in his role. Lashley looked jacked and happy to be there. If he can keep up the intensity, he’ll be a fun addition.

They aired a Kenny King vignette. I like them so far.
Backstage, TNA champion Magnus cut a promo backstage. He said he has had to do everything himself in his career. He said tonight, it’s different because he’s locked in a steel cage and it’s Joe’s Rules. Magnus said that he has to fight against adversity and MVP in the office. Magnus said he will fight this crusade alone but what bothers him is people asking what Joe is going to do to him. He said no one is asked what he’s going to do to Joe. He said that he has Joe all figured out and Joe doesn’t have it in the brains department. He said that he may not look and behave like an animal, if you back him into a corner, everyone will find out what happens.

    Tigre Uno vs. Manik
This is Uno’s official TNA debut. He’s better known as Extreme Tiger in Mexico. Mike Tenay really talked him up as one of the most extreme risktakers in the ring.
Some really good athletic, fast paced stuff early. Uno tossed Manik into the cage but Manik caught himself on the ropes. Uno went for a sideways dive but Manik moved out of the way and Uno crashed and burned into the cage. Manik nailed a back suplex for a two count and locked on a bow and arrow. He rolled back for a two count.
Manik continued to work over Uno, who kicked up. He nailed a backbreaker for another two count. Uno leapt to the ropes and nailed a springboard into a rana, then nailed a spinkick. He reversed a takedown attempt into a DDT for a two count. Uno went to the top but Manik followed. They battled and Uno went for a sunset flip powerbomb. Manik kicked him off and nailed a missile dropkick.
Manik nailed a sit-down powerbomb for a two count. Manik went for a kick and Uno grabbed his leg as if he was going for a head and arms Tazplex, then slammed him down with a crazy DDT like move. Uno then hit his finisher in Mexico, a Twisting splash called the Sabretooth splash.
    Your winner, Tigre Uno!
Really good athletic wrestling. This felt more like an old school X-Division match than anything I can remember in a long time. Lots of fast paced reversals and highspots. Real enjoyable as a showcase of fast aerial stuff. Manik is really, really underrated.

Gunner vs. James Storm: Last Man Standing
They began brawling stiffly on the floor before they even got into the ring. Gunner nailed a suplex on the floor and nailed a series of rights. He whipped Storm into the ringsteps. Storm fired back but was overpowered by Gunner. Gunner tossed the top of the ring steps into the ring and tried to pull Storm in but Storm broke free and slammed the cage door hard into Gunner’s head. He called for the referee to ring the bell, which he did and then began counting Gunner out.
Gunner pulled himself up at four but Storm charged him in the corner. Storm wedged a chair in the corner but was nailed by Gunner. Storm came back with a jump into a DDT in the corner. The referee began counting down Gunner but he got to his feet. Storm began choking him with the tag rope and then did it with a second rope after the referee took the first one away. Storm actually wrapped one like a noose and then attached it to the ring ropes as a way to keep Gunner down. Gunner freed himself but was nailed a low blow from behind. Good stuff so far.

Storm continued working over Gunner and slammed him into the buckles. Gunner psyched himself up and the shots began to have no effect. He worked over Storm and nailed a running knee in the corner and another to the face as Storm rebounded off the ropes. Gunner went for a move but Storm caught him with a knee and a facebreaker, then slammed him with the top strip of the steel steps. That was brutal. The crowd chanted, “TNA” for that.

Gunner blocked several moves but was nailed with a pair of knees to the face and tossed into the chair wedged between two turnbuckles. Gunner returned to his feet at the nine count and Storm drilled him in the gut with a steel chair. Storm nailed him across the back. Gunner made a comeback. He nailed Storm with either a F5 or a death valley driver. The camera was too close to the shot to really tell. The crowd began chanting, “This is awesome.” Really good.

The referee began counting down Storm but at seven he got to his knees and went for a chair. Gunner stepped on the chair and stopped his former partner, then nailed a Uranage. Gunner went to the top rope for a move but Storm tossed the chair in his face as he came down. That was brutal. The crowd chanted, “Holy sh**.”
The referee began counting Gunner down but he got up at eight. Storm drilled him in the back and demanded the referee start over, so he did. Gunner returned to hit feet as Storm set up two chairs facing each other. They battled to the top and slammed each other into the cage hard until Gunner nailed a series of headbutts to gain the advantage. Gunner saw the chairs and nailed a superplex through the chairs. This is a hell of a match,
This led to a race to see who would make it to their feet as the referee counted them down. Gunner made it up at nine and Storm didn’t answer the bell.
    Your winner, Gunner!

TNA Knockouts champ Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim.
You can win via scoring a fall or escaping the cage.
They battled back and forth with forearms. Kim nailed her with a knee as Rayne rebounded off the ropes. Rayne was choked against the ropes with a boot. Rayne shocked her with a forward roll for a two count, then went for the move where she drives Kim’s head into the mat but Kim slipped out.
Kim climbed the cage. Rayne followed. Kim slipped under her, teasing an Electric Chair. Rayne drilled her head into the cage over and over. That was original. Kim fell into the ring. Rayne went for a bodypress but missed. Kim scored a two count. Kim tossed Rayne hard into the cage and used her feet to drive Rayne into the cage as Lei’d Tapa yelled as Rayne.

Kim hit a leaping clothesline into the corner on Rayne. Kim worked over Rayne’s back, driving her backwards. Rayne used a series of knees to break it but was cut off by a kick to the head. Rayne was whipped into the corner but Kim missed a charge. Rayne worked her over as Tapa screamed at Kim to get up.
The women battled to the top rope and Kim nailed a neckbreaker off the ropes into the cage. That was pretty cool. Kim tried to escape the cage with the help of Tapa but Rayne dragged her back in. Rayne was tossed into the cage but kicked out at the last second. Kim climbed the cage. Rayne followed. Kim tore at her outfit and tried to set up the Eat Defeat from the ropes. Rayne broke free and sent Kim down, clotheslining herself on the top rope as she went down.
Rayne kicked Tapa off the cage then hit a spear off the top of the cage for the pin.
Your winner and still Knockouts champion, Madison Rayne!

They aired a good backstage promo with Samoa Joe warning Magnus to be ready to fight because for three months, Joe has been. He said he was coming to take his belt back.

TNA champion Magnus vs. Samoa Joe
The only way to win is knockout, submission or pinfall. Magnus was wary of facing Joe early on. Joe caught him with a kick to the legs. Joe tagged him with another. Magnus locked up with him and they had some nice back and forth wrestling reversals on the mat.

Joe locked up Magnus in an armwringer and began headbutting his hand and wrist. Joe peppered him with punches and chops. Magnus caught him with a hard right and locked in a side headlock. Joe made a comeback and worked over Magnus with all his signature offense, including a Facewash but missed a back splash senton.
Magnus worked over Joe but was sent into the cage twice. Joe trapped him against the cage and battered his head into the cage ten times, then splashed him into the cage and nailed an enziguiri. Magnus was busted open, the first blood on the show. Joe peppered him with punches to the wound and bit into his forehead.
Joe continued working over the champ until Magnus caught him with a running knee from behind. Joe was slammed into the cage and threw Joe into the cage head-first several times. Joe is now busted open as well. Magnus locked on a figure four leglock. Joe tried to fight the move and turned it over but Magnus escaped.
Joe charged but Magnus used a drop toehold and locked in a Camel Clutch. Joe fought his way out and nailed a back suplex to escape. Joe fired back with a series of strikes and elbows. He whipped Magnus into the corner but was kicked off. Joe saw him coming with a charge and nailed a powerslam, then a back senton splash,
Joe locked in a cross armbreaker. Magnus was able to make it to the ropes. Joe nailed him with a headbutt and placed Magnus on top for the muscle buster. He raked Joe’s eyes but Joe still tried to fight him off. Magnus kicked him down and hit a hell of a flying elbow. They battled back and forth with some stiff shots from Joe. Joe placed Magnus on the top. Magnus tried to fight him off but was crotched on the ropes.

Joe set up for the muscle buster and nailed it. Joe locked in the rear naked choke in the center. A hand (it looked like Abyss’ arm) broke through the ring and grabbed Joe’s arm. It dragged Joe down under the ring as he tried to fight him off. The crowd turned on this and chanted, “Bullshit.”
Magnus recovered and looked worried in the ring. After a minute, a pissed off Joe emerged from the hole, and stomped whatever was under him. Joe grabbed Magnus by the throat and choked him in the corner against the corner of the ring, trying to choke him out.

Abyss emerged from the hole (off camera) with Janice and nailed Joe with Janice from behind, then nailed a Black Hole Slam. Abyss and Magnus, who was fearful, faced off and Magnus smiled at him. Magnus made sure Joe was out and locked in the rear naked choke on him. The referee held Joe’s arm up and it fell three times. The last time, it almost looked like he was going to come back to life but it was not to be.
Your winner and still TNA champion, Magnus!

Backstage, Eric Young tried to confront Abyss but was held back by Pat Kenny and Al Snow. Young said that he thought Abyss was going to get help and Magnus said that he was. He refused to let Young talk to him and they left together.
Dixie Carter sent Rockstar Spud to get her surprise. She said it was going to be her crowning moment. Bobby Roode showed up and demanded to know what that surprise was. She said she’s done her best to give him an advantage by locking Jeff Hardy out of the building and it’s up to him to do the job because he’s the only one who can lose. He warned her she doesn’t want him as an enemy.

Lethal Lockdown: Team MVP vs. Team Dixie
The first ones out are Austin Aries and MVP. They started out. Aries nailed a bulldog and locked on The Muta Lock. Aries went to the ropes and went for a missile dropkick but missed. MVP nailed him with a T-Bone suplex and nailed him with a knee to the face. MVP went for the Ballin’ elbow but Aries nailed a roaring elbow for a two count. MVP kicked Aries as he charged in the corner and nailed a Yakuza Kick MVP worked over Aries with a knee drop and a series of forearms to the face. MVP tied him up on the mat.

The countdown ended and Robbie E. was the next guy out for Team Dixie. MVP sent him up with a flapjack and nailed clotheslines on both of his opponents. Aries nailed him with a dropkick as MVP was working over E. They worked over MVP until the next man for Team MVP came out, Eddie Edwards.
Edwards hit the ring and worked over E with a series of chops in the corner. Aries drilled him but was chopped and hit with a back suplex. Zema Ion climbed the cage but E was thrown into the cage to knock him to the floor. MVP and Edwards cleaned house.

The next man out was Jesse Godderz. He was immediately nailed with a Judo Throw by MVP. Team Dixie worked over MVP and then turned their attention to Edwards. The Bromans double teamed him as Aries stomped away on MVP. Team Dixie controlled the ring. Davey Richards came out with his shoulder taped up. He outmanned the Bromans and set up a droptoehold/dropkick combo with Edwards. The crowd was into Richards and chanted for him. The Wolves began whipping out all their signature stuff on Aries. The Bros Mans went for a suplex on Davey but Eddie saved him and they nailed stereo One legged Boston Crabs.
Bobby Roode, the captain of Team Dixie, came out to compete the team. He and MVP battled back and forth in the center of the ring. Roode snapped him down with a spinebuster. Richards and Edwards each ate spinebusters as well. Team Dixie beat down MVP’s team until a countdown began. The announcers wondered who it would be since Jeff Hardy was locked out of the building.

It was Willow. The lights went out. When they returned, he was on top of the cage and hit a bodypress onto all of Team Dixie. The roof came down for Lethal Lockdown, bringing that element back after the mechanism broke last year and they were unable to use it. The announcers sort of teased that they knew it was Hardy but wouldn’t say it outright. Before anyone could get the weapons, Dixie came out and said she was happy to introduce her insurance policy, the special referee Bully Ray. Well, she did say she went to NYC for it.

Team MVP looked shocked as Ray made his way to the ring, allowing Team Dixie to recover and work them over from behind. Ray pulled a table out from under the ring. Everyone began grabbing weapons and worked over Team MVP. Dixie sat on the stage with Rockstar Spud, surveying the battle. They focused their attack on Richards, who was locked in a Crossface after being beaten down. He teased tapping but refused. Team MVP rallied and Edwards made the save. MVP nailed a Facebreaker and the Ballin’ Elbow on Roode. E. attacked MVP.

Aries teased powerbombing Willow onto a trash can but Willow turned it into a reverse powerbomb into the cage, which looked great. The Bromans worked over MVP with a hockey stick, scoring a two count. Edwards fought off the Bromans. The Wolves drilled E. with a kick to the chest. The Wolves trapped them in the corner with a trash can and hit stereo Van Terminators with a trash can on them. That was a cool spot. They scored a two count. The crowd chanted, “This is awesome.”
Aries ducked a kick and nailed a brainbuster through a chair on Richards. Willow made the save. Aries trashed him with a garbage can. Aries went for a 450 splash off the ropes but Willow moves and Hardy ate the can.A table came into play. Roode set up a powerbomb on MVP but Bully blocked it and then hit a Uranage on Roode. MVP nailed a Yakuza Kick and scored the win, so he’s now in charge of wrestling operations.

    Your winners, Team MVP!

Bully put Roode through a table after.
