    Wrestlemania 29

    Wrestlemania 29

    WrestleMania 29 Pre-Show Match
WWE Intercontinental Title: The Miz vs. Wade Barrett (c)

We’re finishing up the pre-show with our first match of the evening, The Miz vs. Wade Barrett for the I-C strap. The crowd popped huge when it was announced that the first match was about to begin. Miz is out first. Nice reception. Wade Barrett is out next. The bell sounds and here we go. Impressive looking crowd/set-up inside MetLife tonight. Looks very cool. Miz gets some offense early, including a nearfall or two before the larger Barrett slows him down. Barrett gets some offense in on Miz. He attempts his elbow-finisher but Miz avoids it and counters into a figure-four leglock on Barrett. Barrett struggles for a while before making it to the ropes to break the hold. Crowd was hot for that series of moves/counters. Barrett recovers and hits Miz with Wasteland for a close two-count. Miz, from his back, locks up Barrett’s legs standing and locks in the figure-four leglock again. Cool way to apply that move. Miz sinches it on tight and Barrett is forced to tap. We have a new Intercontinental Champion, folks!

Winner and NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: The Miz

    WrestleMania 29 Pay-Per-View

The show opens with the typical, bad-ass video package that you’d expect. A lot of history of WrestleMania stuff, highlighting a lot of the top “WrestleMania moments” from the past.

From the video package we hear Michael Cole’s voice and get our first PPV-glimpse inside MetLife Stadium. The set-up looks so cool with all of the people in the building. Very cool. Michael Cole does the obligatory introduction stuff and then we immediately go to Sheamus’ ring entrance.

Sheamus, Randy Orton & Big Show vs. The Shield

Sheamus comes out to the top of the stage and stands there for a second. Randy Orton’s music hits and he joins Sheamus at the top of the stage. Both guys stand there and Big Show’s music hits and he joins the duo at the top of the stage. All three walk together down the long aisle to the ring to Big Show’s music. The three stand in the ring after the music cuts off for a moment. The Shield’s music hits and the three come out through the crowd as usual. The crowd popped pretty big at the first sound of The Shield’s music. During these entrances, by the way, the Spanish announce team was introduced briefly as well. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL are calling the action for the U.S. PPV audience. Sheamus and Reigns start things off for their respective teams. Reigns bullies Sheamus into the corner and pounds on him a bit. Sheamus whips Reigns into the opposing corner and gets in a little offense of his own. Sheamus is getting the better of the two early on in this opening contest. Sheamus tags in Orton. Crowd pops big for Orton. Orton continues to control the offense for his team as he keeps Reigns grounded and works him over. Reigns makes the tag to Rollins. Orton immediately gets the better of Rollins. Orton tags Sheamus in. Rollins dropkicks Sheamus’ knee and tags in Dean Ambrose. Crowd pops pretty damn big for Ambrose. Sheamus hits a big powerslam on Ambrose for a nearfall. Sheamus tags in The Big Show. Crowd reacts pretty big to Show as well. Show opens Ambrose’s vest and chops the hell out of him. We get a shot of Orton and Sheamus smiling after Big Show’s big chop. Ambrose takes a chop and tries taunting Big Show like it didn’t hurt. Big Show responds by backing him into the corner and chopping the living hell out of him repeatedly. Ambrose dropkicks Big Show’s legs out and tags in Rollins. Rollins using his speed to keep Big Show grounded. The Shield makes a lot of quick tags and utilizes the gameplan of keeping Show off his feet to keep control of the offensive flow of the match. Big Show finally makes the tag to Sheamus after several minutes of punishment. Sheamus is a ball of fire as he takes out Rollins. He throws Rollins over the top. Rollins lands on the apron outside the ropes. Sheamus opens Rollins vest the same way Big Show did, and does his arm-pounding spot on Rollins. Ambrose comes over and Sheamus does the same spot with him. Orton tags in. Orton hits the DDT off the middle rope on Ambrose. Rollins tries interfering off the top but Orton sees him and catches him with the RKO on the way down. However, Reigns hits the spear on Orton. Ambrose immediately pins Orton. The Shield wins. Big Show is shown standing on the apron looking quite disappointed at Orton. The Shield leave through the crowd the same way they arrived.

    Winners: The Shield

    After The Match

After the match, The Big Show comes in and hits the knockout punch on both Sheamus and Orton. The crowd boo’s the crap out of him as he exits the ring and leaves the two laying.

-After a John Cena/Rock video package is shown, we see a few celebrities in the crowd including Snooki. Mark Henry’s music hits and we’re headed back to the ring.

    Mark Henry vs. Ryback

Mark Henry makes his way to the ring as we see video highlights of their feud leading into tonight’s match, including the bench-press challenge from Smackdown two weeks ago. Ryback’s music hits. Ryback gets a nice pop as he makes his way to the ring. The bell rings and the two slowly walk to each other. They’re going nose-to-nose and talking trash as the hot crowd at MetLife Stadium erupts. Lots of heat from the audience for this one already. The two sumo-bump into each other. Ryback pounds his chest, as if to say “bring it on!” They bump chests again. Henry punches Ryback. Ryback punches Henry. They exchange punches with Ryback getting the better. Ryback tries a clothesline but Henry remains on his feet. Ryback hits the ropes and tries another one. Henry still stands. Ryback goes to do it again but Henry catches him coming in with a big clothesline. Ryback is floored. Henry picks Ryback up with ease and hits a running powerslam on Ryback for a one-count. Henry dominating Ryback now, slamming him and punching him as he pleases. A loud crowd chant breaks out. Sounds like “let’s go Goldberg!” but can’t quite tell. Meanwhile, Henry continues the “big man match” stuff by applying a bearhug to Ryback. Ryback tries fighting his way out but can’t. Henry bull-rushes him into the corner and splashes him. Henry with a running clothesline that knocks Ryback over the top rope and onto the floor. Henry yells out “that’s what I do!” which can be heard on the PPV broadcast. Henry stands in the ring and lets the referee begin his count on Ryback, who is recovering on the floor. Another chant is getting started up by the crowd, but the announcers are drowning it out. Ryback makes it back into the ring before he is counted out. Henry continues his beatdown of Ryback. Ryback showing signs of life as he fights back, but Henry cuts him off and applies another bearhug. Ryback tries fighting out and is again cut off by Henry. Ryback is again trying to get in some offense. He’s having better luck this time, knocking Henry to one knee. “Feed more more” chant breaks out from the crowd. Ryback hits the Meathook Clothesline to knock Henry off his feet for the first time in the match. Ryback calls for the Shellshock. Ryback attempts the Shellshock. He has Henry up. Wow! Henry ends up flattening Ryback before he can finish the move. Henry rolls onto Ryback….1-2-3. Henry wins. Interesting finish. Crowd seems disappointed in that one. A replay shows Henry held onto the top rope while he was on Ryback’s shoulders, which allowed Henry to flatten Ryback. Not illegal, so Henry wins clean.

    Winner: Mark Henry

    After The Match:

The referee calls for medics to check on Ryback. Henry comes back in the ring and tells the ref to “let him suffer.” Ryback pops back up and knocks Henry down. Ryback plays to the crowd but the crowd craps on him. Ryback hoists Henry up and hits the Shellshock on him for real this time. Crowd reacted kind of flat, as they wanted that as the finish of the match, not a post-match spot from the loser. Either way, it looked cool and we saw a bunch of replays of it afterwards.

-Some of the members of the Special Olympics are shown in the arena, along with Stephanie McMahon and Govenor Chris Christi. Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and we’re headed back to the ring.

WWE Tag-Team Titles: Dolph Ziggler & Big E. Langston vs. Kane & Daniel Bryan (c)

Ziggler and Langston are out first with A.J. As they walk to the ring, highlights are shown from Monday’s Raw of Langston and Ziggler leaving Bryan and Kane laying. Langston and Ziggler are in the ring now. The fire pyro explodes and Kane’s music hits. Loud pop from the crowd. Kane and Daniel Bryan come out together. Bryan is doing the “No, No!” stuff as he walks to the ring, but it seems out of place with the entire arena lit up with red lights and Kane’s music playing. Weird choice by WWE there. Kane and Bryan enter the ring now and we’re about to be underway. A kiss by AJ almost cost Ziggler’s team the match right off the bat as Bryan had a close nearfall on Ziggler. The crowd thought that might’ve been the finish. Bryan hitting his “no-kicks” on Ziggler as the crowd chants “Yes!” for each kick. Crowd very hot for Bryan in this one. Ziggler makes the tag to Langston and there’s almost a gasp amongst everyone at MetLife. Bryan tags Kane in before he does anything. Kane and Langston exchange punches with Kane getting the better. Kane hits the ropes but is caught by Langston. Langston is rag-dolling Kane like a child, hitting him with repeated backbreakers. Langston showing off his power by dominating the large Big Red Machine. Kane slaps the chokeslam on Langston but Langston powers out before Kane can hit the move. Langston with a big running clothesline that floors Kane. Langston tags Ziggler back in. Ziggler goes straight to work on Kane. He gets in a few moves and tags Langston right back in. Langston continues the beatdown of Kane. Later on in the match, Ziggler and Kane are the legal men. Ziggler calls for the Money In The Bank briefcase from AJ. AJ gives it to him but Kane avoids getting hit with it. He hits Ziggler with a chokeslam. Kane knocks Langston off the apron as Bryan comes off the top rope with a flying headbutt. 1-2-3. Lesnar catches HHH coming in with another belly-to-back throw for a nearfall. Heyman jumps up on the apron. HBK jumps up on the other side. Lesnar knocks HBK on the floor with a big shot. Lesnar turns around into a spinebuster from HHH. HHH goes for the Pedigree on Lesnar but Lesnar counters it to an F-5. Before he can hit the F-5, however, HBK runs in to hit Sweet Chin Music on Lesnar. Lesnar throws HHH down and counters HBK’s superkick attempt into an F-5. Lesnar hits HBK with the F-5. Lesnar turns around into a Pedigree attempt by HHH but Lesnar again avoids it. HHH goes out to the floor and grabs a sledgehammer from under the ring. He comes back into the ring with the sledgehammer. Lesnar hoists HHH up for an F-5 before HHH can use the sledgehammer. Lesnar pins HHH but only gets 2 1/2. Lesnar’s mouth is bleeding just a bit. Heyman is shown upset on the outside. HHH rolls out to the floor to recover. Lesnar follows him out and blasts him hard with a chair shot to the back. Lesnar then yells at HHH, “I play with chairs, too!” I guess HHH stiffed him with the chair earlier? Lesnar takes apart the ringside steps. Lesnar blasts HBK for no reason. Lesnar throws half of the ringside steps into the ring. The announcers are acting like Lesnar is completely losing control now. Lesnar sets the ringside steps up inside the ring before going back out to get HHH. Lesnar rolls HHH back into the ring and follows him in. Heyman is overheard shouting at Lesnar to “retire that man!” Lesnar does a thumb-across-the-throat gesture before picking up the ringside steps. Lesnar waits for HHH to get up. HHH runs into Lesnar and Lesnar blasts HHH with the ringside steps. He tries to pin HHH following the hit but HHH kicks out at two. “Torture him all night long! Make him feel the pain!” yells Heyman from the floor. Lesnar grabs HHH by the face and yells “it’s over now! Retire!” HHH bitch-smacks the hell out of Lesnar. Lesnar looks pissed! HHH gets up and punches away at Lesnar. Lesnar slaps the Kimura on HHH. The announcers remind us that this is how Lesnar broke HHH’s arm twice. HHH is fighting off the Kimura attempt. He breaks free but Lesnar slaps the hold right back on. HHH backs Lesnar into the corner hard to break the hold. Lesnar slaps it back on. Lesnar sits on the top rope and wraps his legs around HHH’s waist while sinching up the Kimura tighter and tighter. A closeup is shown of Lesnar with a psychotic look on his face. HHH hoists Lesnar up while still in the hold and slams him down to break it. HHH wraps Lesnar’s arm around the ringside post in the ring. HHH goes to the floor, grabs a chair and blasts Lesnar’s arm with it. HHH nails Lesnar again in the arm with the chair. Now HHH locks in the Kimura on Lesnar. HHH drops down and tightens the Kimura. Lesnar is shown contemplating tapping out. Heyman is screaming from the floor for Lesnar not to tap. Heyman crawls in the ring and grabs a chair. HBK jumps in the ring and hits Heyman with Sweet Chin Music. Both of those guys peter out of the ring. The smoke clears and HHH tightens the Kimura even more on Lesnar. Lesnar is shown thinking about tapping again. He doesn’t and freaks out. He stands up, still in the hold, and walks over to the ringside steps he set up earlier. While still in the hold, Lesnar slams HHH down onto the steps to break the hold. HHH sells that for a moment before sitting up, still on the steps, and re-applying the Kimura. Lesnar almost taps but again picks HHH up, still in the hold, and slams him back down on the steps to break the hold. HHH sells that again for a bit before re-applying the Kimura a third time. Lesnar is thinking about tapping again, but again doesn’t. Lesnar picks HHH up to slam his way out of the hold again but HHH counters in mid-air into a DDT on Lesnar, face-first into the ring steps. HHH crawls over to the sledgehammer. HHH picks it up and blasts Lesnar in the face with it. Lesnar does his pose and stands on top of the ringside steps in the ring. He picks Lesnar up and Pedigree’s him on the steel steps. He covers him. 1-2-3. HHH wins.

    Winner: Triple H

Highlights are shown from Saturday’s WWE Hall Of Fame 2013 induction ceremony. 80,676. That number is announced live in the arena by Justin Roberts as a new record. A massive amount of fireworks explode throughout the building. We get a blimp camera-shot of that, which looked awesome. And then John Cena’s music hit, which resulted in a giant chorus of boo’s from about, oh, probably 80,676 fans inside the MetLife Stadium.

WWE Title: John Cena vs. The Rock (c)

John Cena comes out to his music. The crowd boo’s as mentioned above. Cena salutes the fans regardless and runs down the long aisle to the ring. Cena waits for the “three second tan” line in his little rap and does the three-finger salute to the crowd before throwing his hat to the crowd. Cena’s music stops and a loud “Rocky!” chant breaks out. “If ya smellll ….” and the crowd goes banana’s! (R.I.P. Gorilla!) The Rock wastes no time, as he comes right out to the top of the stage in his trunks and boots, holding the WWE Championship in his left hand. He caters to one side of the audience at the top of the stage. He caters to the other. He soaks in the moment a bit, smiles, and begins his walk down the long aisle to the ring. Rock poses with the title in all four corners. Rock’s music ends and Justin Roberts does the official introductions for tonight’s main event. It’s John Cena vs. The Rock II, for the WWE Championship here in the main event of WrestleMania 29, LIVE from MetLife Stadium. The bell sounds one more time and our headline attraction is officially underway. The two lock up and Cena throws Rock down first. They lock up again and Rock locks in a side headlock. Cena pushes off, hits the ropes but runs into a shoulder-tackle from The Rock. Rock hits a hip toss on Cena after a bunch of reverals. Cena rolls out to the floor to collect himself. Back in the ring, Cena kicks Rock in the mid-section and lands a series of punches before flooring The Rock. Cena working over Rock in the corner. Rock fighting back now and the crowd is heating up in a major way. The pace is picking up in this match now and Rock is solidifying his offensive control early on. After enduring some extended punishment from Rock, Cena changes the flow in the match with one big clothesline. Cena locks in a headlock on Rock to slow The Brahma Bull down. Cena putting the boots to Rock in the center of the ring. Rock hits a Samoan Drop out of nowhere to cut Cena short. Both guys are down now. Both guys get back to their feet and exchange punches. Cena hits a fisherman’s suplex on Rock for a nearfall. Cena hits a running shoulder block on Rock. Cena tries a second one but Rock avoids it. Cena with a leg-scissors takedown of Rock. He tries connecting that into the STF but Rock avoids it. Rock hits a spinebuster on Cena. Cena hits the ropes and knocks Rock down with a shoulder block. Rock knocks Cena down now and locks in the Sharpshooter. Rock sinching the Sharpshooter in tighter now in the center of the ring. Cena rolls through on The Rock and escapes the hold. Cena with a suplex on Rock. Cena stands over The Rock. Cena leans down in Rock’s face. “You can’t see me!” Cena hits the ropes, goes for the fist-drop but Rock pops up and DDT’s Cena. Rock is standing over Cena now, waiting for Cena to get back to his feet. Cena stands up. Rock goes for the Rock Bottom but Cena counters into the STF. It was a sloppy counter, for the record. Cena shouting at Rock to tap. Rock rolls Cena over into a pin attempt while still in the hold forcing Cena to let go. Cena slingshots Rock into the top turnbuckle. Cena backdrops Rock and is again going for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. This time he hits it successfully. Cena waiting for Rock to get up. Cena going for the Attitude Adjustment. Rock escapes and spinebusters Cena down. Rock going for the People’s Elbow but Cena counters back into the STF. Cena has Rock locked in the STF in the center of the ring. Rock slowly powers his way out. Rock immediately hits a Rock Bottom on Cena and quickly pins him. 1-2…2 1/2…Cena kicks out. Cena hits Rock out of nowhere with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena covers Rock. 1-2….2 1/2. Rock kicks out. Both guys are down now. Cena goes to the top rope. Cena comes off the top with a flying legdrop attempt, the same spot that looked scary for Rock last year. This time, Rock avoids it and Cena crashes down to the mat. Rock quickly steps in for The People’s Elbow. Rock hits it for a nearfall. Both guys are standing now and exchanging punches. Crowd shouts “yay” for every Rock punch and “boo” for every Cena punch. Cena hoists Rock up for an Attitude Adjustment, Rock slides out the backdoor and counters directly into a Rock Bottom. Rock hits it and covers Cena. Rock only gets 2 1/2 again. Rock looks like he’s gonna go for the People’s Elbow again. He instead goes for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. As he goes to hit it, Cena pops up and hits the Attitude Adjustment. The exact opposite spot that cost Cena the match last year. Fans expected that to be the finish this year, however Rock is able to kick out at 2 1/2. Cool spot. Both guys are standing in the center of the ring again exchanging punches. Rock goes for the Rock Bottom. Cena avoids it and counters Rock with a Rock Bottom of his own. Cena pins Rock but only gets 2 1/2. We get a close-up of Cena’s face looking shocked that he couldn’t get the three count off of that. Cena stands up and calls for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. He stops half-way through. He puts his hands on his hips and smiles. Cena kicks Rock’s arm in and pulls his arm band off. He’s going for The People’s Elbow again. Rock pops up, just like last year, but this time Cena is waiting for him. Cena hoists Rock up for an A.A. but Rock counters straight into a Rock Bottom. 1-2…2 1/2…Cena kicks out. Very cool false-finish series there. Cena tries and fails for the A.A. many times. Rock tries and fails for the Rock Bottom many times. I’m talking back-to-back. And too many times in a row. Crowd didn’t dig that. It ends with Rock hitting a DDT on Cena. Rock waiting for Cena to get back to his feet now. Cena turns around into another Rock Bottom attempt. Cena counters into an Attitude Adjustment. Cena covers Rock. 1-2….3. Cena wins. We have a new WWE Champion.

Winner and NEW WWE Champion: John Cena

    After The Match:

After Cena celebrates his victory a bit he’s standing in the middle of the ring with the WWE title. Rock and Cena look at each other. Cena is saying something complimentary to Rock in the middle of the ring. It seems to be a friendly personal conversation. Rock is smiling and talking back. Cena’s music stops. The two shake hands. Rock has a sincere look on his face as they talk. They hug and Rock whispers something in Cena’s ear. Cena points at Rock as if to say, “the ring is yours.” Rock music hits as Cena exits the ring with his newly won WWE Championship. Rock stands in the middle of the ring with his hands on his hips. He shakes his head “yes” at Cena as the camera’s show Cena walking up the aisle staring down at the WWE Title. Back in the ring, Rock is looking around at the fans on all sides of MetLife Stadium. We see a close-up of Rock mouthing the words “thank you” and “I love you” to the fans. The camera pans out as Rock is shown getting emotional as he thanks the fans some more. Rock walks out of the ring and down the steps as the camera follows him. Rock walks around the ring and kisses Bettie Skaaland, his mom, his daughter and other friends and family sitting front row. Rock begins his walk back up the long aisle as his music continues playing. The camera follows Rock as he continues to make his way up the ramp. He gets to the top of the stage and Cena comes back out and is standing there waiting for Rock. Cena looks Rock in the eyes and salutes him. Rock smiles and salutes back. Cena raises Rock’s arm. Rock points at Cena while they keep their hands raised. Cena’s music hits and the fireworks explode. Rock taps Cena on the belly and leaves Cena on the stage to celebrate with his WWE Championship. Michael Cole wraps things up on commentary. The WWE logo flashes across the screen as the PPV fades to black. That’s WrestleMania 29, folks!

WWE Hall of Fame Report - 4/6/13
WWE Hall of Fame Report - 4/6/13

Thanks to our correspondents Jamie and Aaron Pegram, who are live at Madison Square Garden.

    - Terry Funk is out first to induct Mick Foley. Funk says Foley is the reason he's a wrestling fan and he loves him like an ugly brother. Foley comes out a nice reaction from the crowd.

CM Punk was holding up a big "applause" sign in the front row when Foley came out. Foley talks about his famous Hell In a Cell match and how wrestlers didn't like his style but recognized his passion. Foley gives a shout-out to Damien Sandow. Foley thanks The Undertaker and says Taker put him on the map. He jokes about hoping that Taker never uses Twitter. He also thanks Triple H, Shane Douglas and others.

Foley's speech goes well over 30 minutes. Foley talks about never pinning Chris Jericho. Jericho comes to the stage, Foley drops an elbow on him and CM Punk comes up to count the 3 count. This was described as an awesome moment and the crowd went nuts for it. Foley says this induction is his greatest moment ever. Foley's speech ends with Santa Claus coming out. Aaron described this as the best Hall of Fame speech he's seen.

    - Stephanie McMahon is out next to induct Trish Stratus. Stephanie debuts some new theme music. Stephanie talks about Trish's RAW main event with Lita and says Trish's segments with her were some of the McMahon family's favorites. Stephanie says Trish always made people feel how they wanted to feel. She teases that Trish may have another WrestleMania match in her future. Stephanie thanks Trish for all she has done and introduces her.

Trish comes out and gives props to Stephanie McMahon. Trish reads off a very long list of names and thanks them. She pokes fun at how she wrestled early in her career and says she hopes everyone was Stratusfied with her career. She mentions Gail Kim, Beth Phoenix, Jazz, Lita, Mickie James, Tara and a bunch of other former Divas. She also gives props to Finlay for his work with the Divas. She pulls out a gift from Jim Ross, the pen she signed her WWF contract with, and makes a reference to "get the F out so the pandas won't get pissed off." There was a moment where Trish told Lita she loves her and Lita looked to get emotional. She thanked Vince McMahon for what she learned from him. Trish's speech also goes long. She talks about retiring so she could spend time with her mom, who was diagnosed with cancer, but is now free of the disease. She shouts out her husband Ron and he get booed out of the building. Trish jokingly says the fans are mean and then they start to cheer for her husband. She announces a shocker - she's pregnant. She's due in September.

    - Stevie Ray is out next to induct his brother and former tag team partner Booker T. Stevie talks about how when Booker was in prison, he always stayed up to date on wrestling and they would talk about it when Stevie visited him. Aaron believes Stevie Ray's speech may be better than the others, very good and emotional, he says. Stevie says his brother overcame the odds and is now a role model.

Booker T comes out next and is met with a loud "Thank You Booker" chant. Booker is humbled and thanks the fans for letting him be a part of their lives. Aaron says Booker may have got the biggest pop yet. Booker T tells a story about Psycho Sid getting him to join WCW. He mentions the late Sherri Martel and says she gave legitimacy to the team of Harlem Heat. Booker says they weren't a real tag team until she came along. Booker talks more about WCW and coming to WWE. He said he never forgot when Linda McMahon told him, "we got you now." He tells a story about The Undertaker telling him to feel his first WrestleMania. Booker thanks Sting. Booker shouts out his wife Sharmell and says he would marry her a thousand times. He jokingly told the crowd they better not boo her like they did Trish Stratus' husband Ron. Booker says he takes his place in immortality tonight and asks if we can dig that, sucka. Booker ends it with a spinarooni.

    - Extra TV host Maria Menounos is out to induct Bob Backlund. She talks about Backlund's career and how she's been a big fan. Aaron says she really seems to be a huge fan of Backlund. She also talked about how fit Backlund is. Some of the fans start to boo and "WHAT?" Menounos after her speech drags, according to Aaron.

Aaron notes that the crowd is getting restless it seems. Aaron also says Backlund is rare form. Backlund rambles on and talks about Mr. H (Triple H) needing to sign an amateur wrestler. Vince McMahon ends up coming out to pull Backlund off the stage because he was going "insane" and his mic was cut off.

    - Vince McMahon inducts Donald Trump next. The crowd boos Trump's name. Vince talks about how important Trump has been to WrestleMania and calls him an institution. Vince endorses himself and then Trump for President. Said Vince, "I like to think of myself as a handsome elderly gentleman. But I'm one of the ugliest bald men in the world." Vince says getting shaved by Trump was one of his most embarrassing moments ever.

Donald Trump comes out and gets booed heavily. The boos continue for Trump and his family, except his daughter. Trump says he wants to break pay-per-view records and challenges Vince to a match at WrestleMania 30. Trump kept his speech short.

    - A John Cena Make-A-Wish video is shown and gets one of the biggest boos of the night.

    - Arnold Schwarzenegger is out next to induct Bruno Sammartino. Arnold is happy to be here and full of jokes tonight. Arnold jokes about lifting 400lbs. recently - lifting NJ Governor Chris Christie out of a chair. Arnold talks about his friend Bruno.

Bruno Sammartino comes out to huge chants of "Bruno" and an ovation from the crowd. He talks about his childhood and having to deal with Nazis in Italy. Aaron notes that Bruno is a great storyteller. He also talks about his mother and his wife. Bruno says he never took aspirin or painkillers. He's a tough guy and still trains 6 days a week. Bruno credits MSG for helping him headline. He owes all of his success to the fans. He closes the speech and gets emotional, saying he's nothing without the fans.

    Washington, DC/East Rutherford, New Jersey
Report by: Mike Tedesco of Wrestleview.com

“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The Smackdown video plays, and we’re brought into the arena in Washington, DC. Josh Mathews is on commentary alongside WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler.

Ryback vs. Primo and Epico w/ Rosa Mendes

They show a video of Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield at WrestleMania Axxess in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Primo starts off with a side headlock, but Ryback whips him off and shoulder blocks him down. They hit the ropes, and Primo leaps at him, but Ryback counters with a powerslam. Epico is tagged in, and he’s brought into the ring the hard way. Ryback chops the chest and sends him to the opposite corner. Ryback runs into a boot, but he soon comes back with a military press slam. Ryback sends him into the ropes, but Epico holds on and dropkicks him into the ropes. Primo is tagged in, and he drops Ryback with a springboard dropkick. Primo kicks away at him and tags in Epico. Epico kicks him down and pins for a no count. Epico applies a chin lock, but Ryback powers up and hits a backpack jawbreaker. Primo is tagged in, and Ryback takes him down with some elbows. Ryback hits a back body drop and goes for a spinebuster, but Epico sweeps his legs. They send Ryback into the ropes, but he takes them down with a double spear. Ryback signals for the end, and he drops them with an impressive double Shell Shock for the win.

    Winner by Pinfall: Ryback
    Match Rating: ¼ *

Ryback will take on Mark Henry at WrestleMania XXIX.

They show a replay of Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter beating Alberto Del Rio down on RAW with some crutches. We’ll hear from Del Rio later tonight.

Tons of Funk will be in action, next.

    -Commercial Break-

Tons of Funk’s music hits, but it is Team Rhodes Scholars and the Bella Twins dressed up as them. Damien Sandow mentions that it’s been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In some cases that is true, but the only reason they’re treating the crowd to this spoof is to illustrate the lunacy and ridiculousness that is Tons of Funk. Cody Rhodes says they are much better looking and better dancers than those belligerent behemoths. Sandow says whether the crowd can appreciate satire remains to be seen, Brodus Clay, Sweet T, and those low rent cheerleaders don’t belong in the same ring as them. Rhodes says they are attractions for a petting zoo. They should leave the entertaining up to the professionals. Sandow says they’ll outshine them and put an end to their dog and pony show for good at WrestleMania. The Bella Twins then say, “You’re welcome!”

The real Tons of Funk make their way to the ring, and they don’t look too happy at all. They Funkadactyls charge the ring and attack the Bella Twins. Brodus Clay and Sweet T then take out Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes. Tons of Funk then dances in the ring.

    -Commercial Break-

They show the WrestleMania Superstore and mention that it’s open all weekend.

Video Package: Donald Trump’s WWE Hall of Fame video

    -Commercial Break-

They show the John Cena audio booth where you can rap his theme song. Cole accuses JBL of having done that attraction.

Replay: John Cena’s entire promo from Monday Night RAW is shown. They then show The Rock’s entire promo from that same RAW.

Jack Swagger will take on Kofi Kingston, next.

    -Commercial Break-

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio is with Renee Young on the floor of WrestleMania Axxess. They show footage of Swagger’s attack from Monday Night RAW. Del Rio says it’s a good thing he’s at Axxess and not at Smackdown tonight. He still has the marks on his back. He can barely wait the forty-eight hours until the event. It’s not about politics. It’s about the championship. It doesn’t matter if you’re a real American, German, or Mexican. It’s about all the countries coming together. After WrestleMania, he’ll be proud to say that he’ll still be the World Heavyweight Champion.

Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter vs. Kofi Kingston

They circle the ring and lock up. Swagger powers him to the corner and goes for a cheap shot, but Kingston ducks. Kingston punches away at him in the corner until the referee backs him up. They circle the ring again and lock up. Swagger wrenches the arm, but Kingston twists out. Kingston goes for an arm drag, but Swagger counters into a wristlock. Kingston then takes him down with a monkey flip. Kingston goes for the SOS, but Swagger shoves him to the corner. Swagger goes for a Swagger Bomb, but Kingston gets his legs up. Kingston hits a springboard splash for a near fall. Swagger quickly takes him down with a waistlock slam. Swagger puts him on the top rope and goes for a superplex, but Kingston fights him off. Kingston goes for a cross-body, but Swagger catches him. Swagger goes for the Gutwrench Powerbomb, but Kingston counters into the SOS for a near fall. Zeb Colter gets on the apron for a distraction, and Swagger takes Kingston down with a shoulder to the knee. Swagger then applies the Patriot Lock for the win.

    Winner by Submission: Jack Swagger
    Match Rating: * ¼

Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter stand in the ring with their hands over their hearts. Swagger will face Alberto Del Rio for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXIX.

Update On RVD: Attends WWE Hall Of Fame
Today, 12:53 AM Posted by Darren Grett in Latest TNA Wrestling News & Rumors
The fight network's Arda Ocal posted a blurry picture of RVD attending the WWE hall of fame via his twitter account

"RVD just showed up to the #WWEHoF..... Sorry for the blurry pic. pic.twitter.com/hUspazTuLS"

while this could simply be Rob attending the event and visiting with friends, it can also be used to fuel speculation that he is returning to the WWE.

Bully Ray Interview: Talks Getting Into Better Shape, Homophobic Slur And More

Bully Ray Interview: Talks Getting Into Better Shape, Homophobic Slur And More

TNA Wrestler Bully Ray recently spoke to Newsday on a number of subjects including getting into better shape, his recent homophobic slur rant, Aces & 8's and more:

On getting into better ring shape:

"I knew I had to reinvent myself, get a new name, and get in the best condition of my life," said Bully Ray, 41. "It's been a lot of work, but I really did it the old fashion way, and lost almost 100 pounds. I got up in the morning, did cardio. I ate five to six meals a day. I drank a gallon of water. I lifted weights in the afternoon. I was just really careful about what I did and really diligent about getting to the gym every single day."

On his recent homophobic slur caught on video:

"It wasn't like I was using those worlds in a hateful, bashing way. But I guess in the world we live in today, we can't use those words. It was a little bit eye-opening for me. That was a different time and a different place and you can't get away with that stuff now," he said. "People weren't as sensitive as they are now. The world was less politically correct."

On his big Aces & 8's reveal:

"Basically what you got was the ending of the movie 'The Sixth Sense' when they go back and they show you how everything unfolded in front of your eyes but you never realized it," Bully Ray said. "I'm proud of the fact that we were able to pull off such a compelling storyline where people totally got themselves involved with everything that went on. To get that reaction that I got at Lockdown is almost impossible to do in pro wrestling today."

    TNA Impact Wrestling Results
    Jonesboro, AR (ASU Convocation Center)
    April 4, 2013
Commentators: Mike Tenay, Taz, & Todd Keneley
Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com

Week #2 from Jonesboro, AR opens up with highlights from last week and then inside the arena Aces & Eights make their way down to the ring. Mr. Anderson is carrying a vest and D-Lo has a big envelope, Bully Ray is nowhere to be found. Anderson calls the fans “douche bags” and then says he has a very special package while holding up the vest. Anderson says that when AJ Styles needed TNA the most they turned their backs on him so the “cut” he’s holding is for AJ. Anderson says he hopes AJ makes the right decision and then Devon grabs the microphone. Devon says the envelope is for Brooke and when Bully brings Brooke out to the ring later he guarantees it will give a new meaning to “a changed relationship.” D-Lo says he was given a gift and holds up an envelope. He says that letter was from TNA and it was a notice of termination from TNA. A “You got fired” chant starts and he says that after all his years of hard work he deserved more than that letter. He says he knows there are TNA officials in the back and he wants one of them to come out and TELL him why he deserved to be fired.

Kurt Angle’s music hits and he walks onto the stage. Angle says he has something to say and if he’s going to say it he’s going to do it to his face. Angle gets in the ring and says “this is how I truly feel” and then he takes D-Lo down and starts laying into him. Aces & Eights jump Angle and then Samoa Joe, Magnus, EY, & Joseph Park hit the ring and a huge brawl ensues. The TNA group chases Aces & Eights off and Tenay hypes up the “10-Man War” for later which will pit those TNA wrestlers against 5 of Aces & Eights.

In the back Joey Ryan approaches Brooke Hogan and he offers her a favor. Brooke tells him that technically she’s already married and she already told him no, but he says it’s not THAT kind of favor. He says that Brooke just fired the Knockouts Referee and she needs someone to fill in tonight and he’s perfect. Joey says he’s even wearing a zebra print thong and offers to show her while unbuckling his pants. Brooke stops him and agrees to let him referee the match. She tells him that he can’t touch the girls.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

Tara & Gail Kim w/Jesse vs. Velvet Sky & Taryn Terrell
    Special Referee: Joey Ryan

Joey Ryan starts checking the knockouts for “foreign objects” in a priceless moment. Joey even checked Terrell’s knee pads despite the fact that she isn’t wearing any. As Velvet screams at Joey for rubbing on her Tara attacks her from behind and then chokes her in the ropes. Tara chops Velvet and then whips her into the ropes and attempts a clothesline, but Velvet ducks and hits a series of clotheslines of her own. Velvet then gets Tara in a side headlock and Joey starts checking to make sure Velvet isn’t choking Tara, but then moves his arms up her arms and starts massaging Velvet. Velvet releases Tara and argues with Joey allowing Tara to tag in Gail. Velvet realizes it and tags Terrell and then Gail hides behind Joey before tagging back out to Tara. Tara swings at Terrell but she ducks and then catches Tara in a backslide but Joey was too busy staring at their “backsides” to make a count. Terrell then rolls Tara up and again was distracted by Terrell’s backside. Terrell trips Tara up flips over into a bridge with Joey still staring. Terrell gets Gail in an armlock and Velvet tags herself back in. Velvet & Terrell whip Tara into the ropes and connect with a Double Shoulder Block. Terrell & Velvet then blow a kiss to Tara before hitting the old Beautiful People Hollering Elbows (Double Elbow Drop) that Velvet & Angelina Love used to do. Velvet covers Tara but Joey stares at Velvet’s butt instead of counting. Velvet gets in Joey’s face and then Gail comes in and lays her out from behind. Velvet hit her face on the bottom rope on that spot and it didn’t look like it felt pleasant as Velvet held her face for several minutes. Gail & Tara double team her in the corner. Gail tags herself back in and then hit’s a Fireman’s Carry Slam on Velvet. Gail covers her but again Joey would rather look at the knockouts butts rather than make the pin. Gail decides to flirt with him instead of argue and then she tags in Tara. Tara slams Velvet into the corner and then runs her shoulder into her repeatedly. Joey Ryan gets between them and starts feeling on Tara as he breaks them apart. Jesse gets pissed and gets up on the apron but Tara stops him from getting involved. Velvet rolls Tara up but again Joey doesn’t count the pin. Tara gets back to her feet and clotheslines Velvet followed by the Standing Moonsault, but Velvet rolls out of the way. Tara tags in Gail and Velvet tags in Terrell. Terrell clotheslines Gail and then connects with a 2nd clothesline before connecting with a Back Elbow and then a Vertical Suplex! Terrell climbs up top and dives off with a Flying Cross Body! Terrell grabs Gail by the hair and slams her head into the back repeatedly, but then Tara comes in and attacks her from behind. Velvet comes running in and dropkicks Tara sending her through the ropes! Gail hits Velvet from behind and then she starts flirting with Joey again. Terrell rolls Gail up but Joey is too busy rubbing baby lotion all over himself. Gail reverses the rollup and uses the tights as well, Joey fast counts Terrell and Gail gets the pin.

Winners: Gail & Tara via pinfall (rollup)

After the match Joey raises Tara & Velvet’s arms but as he tries to get some action from Gail she shoves him away and laughs as she and Tara walk away. Joey tries to get some action from Velvet & Terrell now but as Velvet flirts with him Terrell then low blows him.

In the back Austin Aries & Bobby Roode are shown talking, the contract signing for the Tag Titles Match next week is next.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

The Tag Champs and Chavo/Hernandez are already in the ring. Jeremy Borash asks if the two teams have anything else to say before the contracts are signed. Aries tells JB to shutup and then says that they are not the World Tag Team Champions, instead they are “a team of World Champions.” Roode asks Chavo and Hernandez if they have ever been a World Heavyweight Champion and says the reality is neither one of them could hold a candle to the in-ring abilities of he and Austin Aries. Chavo asks Bobby want color the sky is in “his world” and asks Bobby if he realizes that Chavo is a Guerrero. Chavo says along with a Guerrero he’s got Hernandez, “strong as a son of a gun.”

Aries asks Chavo & Hernandez if they aren’t bored with Aries & Roode simply beating them up. Chavo asks them if they’re scared to sign the contract, but Aries says he’s suggesting they add some more “perks” for the winners. Chavo say that they’re game and then Roode suggests to Aries “money, green M&M’s, and a fruit basket.” They add that in the contract but then Chavo says they have an idea and then writes it down on the contract. Aries & Roode laugh and say that’s fine to them but they have one more stipulation and Aries writes it down. Chavo reads it and says it’s fine with them and says “anything, any time, any place” because they are going to take their titles. Both teams agree to the stipulations and then JB announces that the match will be on the line in a 2/3 Falls Match (Chavo/Hernandez stipulation) and if Chavo/Hernandez lose (Aries/Roode stipulation) they can never team together again! Both teams sign the contract and Hernandez seemed to hesitate before signing but Chavo was adamant. The two teams talk trash to each other as the segment comes to a close.

Adam Pearce is shown warming up in the back and then a vignette hyping him up is shown. Pearce says that he’s been around the world 75 times and that for 17 years he has gotten into a wrestling ring for a living. Footage of Pearce wrestling Colt Cabana in the indies is shown. Pearce says that he walks to the beat of his own drum and he isn’t afraid to tell you what he thinks of you. Pearce says that he is grateful for everything he has accomplished but he isn’t 22 years old anymore and people in the business want to put wrestlers his age out to pasture. He says that right now is the right place and right time for him. Pearce mentions talent like Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, & Kurt Angle in TNA and says that he’s been in the ring with these guys so he knows what he’s walking into in TNA. He says that he’s proven himself so put him in the ring with whoever you want and he says there is nothing he isn’t willing to do to get the job done. Pearce says that one day when he looks into his son’s eyes he will tell him that when “when they left that door open a crack, your old man kicked it in” and asks if we have any idea how that will feel to say. That was one hell of a promo.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

Magno is shown working out backstage and then a vignette hyping him up is shown. Magno speaks in Spanish for the majority of the promo (with English subtitles) and he puts over the traditions in Lucha Libre and how much the masks mean to Luchadors. He says the mask is his identity and that he was born in Juarez, Mexico but lives in El Paso, TX making him a Mexican-American. He says that he has studied and trained in Lucha Libre for 15 years and then puts over the significance of the mask to Lucha Libre and to Mexican people with its origins stemming from Mayan culture. He says that the mask symbolized a warrior to the Mayans and his mask is his identity and it is very important for him to carry on that tradition. He says he wants to demonstrate that to the people, that he was a warrior from El Paso, TX. He says that he is Magno and you better watch him because he will bring something different. In English, he says “whether you like me or you hate me, I’m here to make an Impact, I’m Magno!” Really great vignette for the luchador.

Magno was trained by Lucha trainers Babe Sharon, Hurricane Hector, & El Pirata in Mexico and spent the majority of his career working independent shows in both Mexico and America. He was a member of Team Mexico in TNA’s 2006 World X-Cup and after that worked for Ring of Honor, Lucha Libre USA, and CHIKARA in America while working for the legendary El Hijo del Santo’s Todos x Todos promotion in Mexico along with Perros del Mal and NWA Mexico. Magno’s rival for the majority of his career was a made named Incognito, who now wrestles for WWE as Hunico. Adam Pearce’s story is more well known than Magno’s as he wrestled literally all over the world from Mexico to Japan to America to Canada to the UK to Puerto Rico. He’s most known for his stints in Ring of Honor where he was actually made Head Booker after Gabe Sapolsky left. He is also a former 5-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion and interestingly enough he was the very first NWA Champion after TNA severed ties with the NWA.

    Gut Check Challenge
“Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce vs. Magno

Tenay puts over Magno’s lucha training focusing on one of his trainers “Hurricane” Hector who was actually trained alongside Eddie Guerrero by Eddie’s father Gori Guerrero (cool fact that I wasn’t aware of). Magno and Pearce lockup and Pearce immediately takes Magno down and looks for a hold, but Magno counters into a hammerlock as he gets back to his feet. Pearce reverses the hold and gets Magno down to his knees. Magno stands on his head and flips over to reverse the hold as Tenay talks about Magno’s brief appearances in TNA back in 2006. Magno catches Pearce with an armdrag and they stare each other down. They lockup again and this time Peace gets Magno in a hammerlock and then sweeps the legs of Magno and rolls him up, 1…2…NO Magno catches Pearce with a Headscissors Takeover out of nowhere! Pearce starts to show a bit of frustration and then locks up with Magno again and gets him with a wristlock, but as Magno attempts to roll through this time Pearce lays him out with a Forearm Smash. Pearce puts the boots to Magno and then tosses him into the corner and nails him with a right hand. Pearce whips Magno into the opposite corner and charges at him, but Magno gets his boots up and then charges at Pearce but eats a big backdrop. Pearce covers Magno and gets a nearfall. Pearce slams his elbow into Magno and then taunts him before tossing him into the corner again. Pearce charges at Magno but he springs to the top and dives over Pearce’s head and it looked like he was looking for a maybe a Reverse Rana but he slips and falls back on his ass so he improvises and quickly catches Pearce with a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker. Magno follows up with a Springboard and it looks like he was going for either a Split Legged Moonsault or a Starship Pain type move but 100% botches the ever loving hell out of it by landing damn near on his head. He still lands on Pearce though and covers him for a nearfall. You can see Magno getting a little frustrated with himself as he slaps himself in the face after that botch. Magno hits a series of right hands and then he attempts to whip Pearce into the ropes, but Pearce reverses it and Magno springboards off the ropes but Pearce catches him in midair and slams him down with a Spinebuster! 1…2…NO Magno kicks out! Pearce hits Magno with a series of right hands and then argues with the referee. Pearce whips Magno into the ropes but he flips over the top rope and lands on the apron. Pearce charges at him but Magno nails him with a shoulder block through the ropes followed by a Slingshot Spinning Headscissors! Magno follows up with a clothesline and then a Forearm Smash. Magno hits a Leaping Enziguri and then he clotheslines Pearce over the top to the floor! Magno climbs up top and dives off with a gorgeous Diving Moonsault onto Pearce on the floor! Magno rolls Pearce back into the ring and then gets the crowd behind him, but Pearce quickly rolls Magno up and grabs the ropes for leverage! 1…2…3! Magno tries to go after Pearce after the match as Pearce laughs at him.

    Winner: Pearce via pinfall (rollup)

Footage of the Sting-Hogan argument from last week is shown.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

In the back Mr. Anderson and other members of Aces & Eights approach AJ Styles. Anderson mentions AJ’s recent wardrobe change (the leather jackets and dark clothes) and says they like it and they’d like a guy like AJ in their organization. Anderson hands AJ the Aces & Eights vest and suggests he try it on and think about it. AJ never said a word but did look down at the jacket and walk away with it.

A vignette of the Sting/Hogan drama is shown.

In the back Hogan says Sting is not here tonight because he needs warriors here, not politicians. Hogan says he’s about to go out and call a warrior out to see where he stands.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

In the back Kurt Angle is approached by Joseph Park and he says that he knows that he wants to “save wrestling” as he points at Kurt’s t-shirt (the “Save Olympic Wrestling” campaign) but tonight he’s here for a fight. Park mentions how he and his classmates in college watched Kurt win his Gold Medal and he is one of the most inspirational people he’s ever been around, but to remember that Aces & Eights did him wrong too so tonight he will stand with Kurt and do whatever he can to help them beat Aces & Eights. Kurt says he just wants Park to follow his league and he’s green but it doesn’t mean he can’t do some damage. He tells Park that if he sees an opportunity he should take it.

Hulk Hogan makes his way down to the ring and he says that he’s talked about making past mistakes but he won’t be making anymore of those. He says that he’s going to lead with his gut and make his decision with his gut. He says that there is one man that his gut is telling him he needs to talk to and that’s AJ Styles. AJ comes out to the ring and blankly stares at Hulk still holding the Aces & Eights vest.

Hogan asks AJ if “that” is the direction AJ is headed in and points to the Aces & Eights “cut.” He says all that personal “crap” AJ went through Hulk really does understand and he gets it. Hogan says he was the man that made the stipulation where if he lost he wouldn’t get a World Title shot for a year so he understands the pressure. Hogan says that AJ has always held up over the years no matter what but suddenly he started to change and he’s changed into a different AJ. He says that TNA is AJ’s family and he’s stuck with TNA over the years. He says that he’s looking at a different AJ Styles right now and says that he’s praying to God that AJ isn’t going down that Aces & Eights path because Hogan is looking at the man that TNA needs right now. Hogan says that he’s looking at the AJ Styles that’s dangerous and TNA needs that right now. He says they need his help and they need the dangerous AJ Styles. Hogan offers the microphone to AJ but he just looks at it and then holds up the Aces & Eights cut and looks down at it. An “AJ” chant starts and AJ asks Hogan, “you want ME to help you?” but before he can say anything else James Storm’s music cuts him off.

Storm comes down to the ring and says that he remembers that stipulation that Hogan was talking about and he also remembers that it was him that pinned AJ in that match. Storm says that’s how it goes and they all lose big matches at times, but what really bothers him is that last week AJ stood there and watched as Aces & Eights and jumped him. Storm says that he’s known AJ for over 17 years and that he’s been in TNA since day one right alongside AJ. He says that he and AJ’s backs helped build TNA and that he and AJ have been on every show together and driven the same miles over the years. He says that everytime they got in the ring and performed for the people they did it because it’s what they loved to do from The Asylum in Nashville to the UK to San Antonio to Jonesboro it was them that built this thing. Storm says now AJ wants to join Aces & Eights because he isn’t the same guy that he remembers from the Nashville Fairgrounds or the same guy that the people cheered for day in and day out. Storm tells AJ that he better “clock out…before you get knocked out” and AJ gets in his face. AJ drops the microphone and walks away without saying anything else, but he’s still holding the Aces & Eights cut.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

In the back Hulk Hogan says he’s done with sucking up to AJ and he has one week to give him an answer.

A promo hyping up the “One Night Only: X-Travaganza” PPV is shown which I will be covering here on WrestleView.

    X-Division Qualifying 3-Way
“The Playa From The Himalayas” Sonjay Dutt vs. Mason Andrews vs. “The Canadian Destroyer” Petey Williams

This is Mason Andrews aka “Harold’s” first appearance in TNA since last year’s Destination X. Highlights from Petey’s career are shown as he comes down to the ring. Petey hasn’t been in TNA since early 2009. A big “Petey” chant starts up as Mason talks trash to both Sonjay & Petey. Petey slaps his hand away and Mason answers with a shove. Sonjay grabs Mason in a side headlock and then Petey grabs Mason from behind in a Gutwrench. Mason shoves Sonjay into the ropes and Sonjay bounces off with a Shoulder Block attempt but Mason sidesteps him and Sonjay nails Petey. Mason quickly rolls Sonjay up but Petey then flips over him into a rollup on Mason! 1…2…NO Sonjay hooks Petey’s arms and rolls him over into a pin of his own, 1…2…NO Mason grabs Sonjay in an Oklahoma Roll! 1…2…NO Sonjay kicks out and then both Sonjay & Petey go after Mason and he backs off. Sonjay then rolls Petey up again but Petey rolls through and Sonjay catches him with a Basement Dropkick! Sonjay covers Petey for a nearfall and then whips him into the ropes but Petey holds onto them instead of bouncing off. Sonjay charges at him but Petey catches him with a Drop Toe Hold sending Sonjay throat first into the middle rope. Petey then knocks Mason off the apron and connects with a dropkick to the back of Sonjay! Petey then dives through the ropes with a Suicide Dive onto Mason on the floor! Sonjay sets up for a Slingshot Plancha over the top rope but both Petey & Mason get out of the way and Sonjay crashes on the floor. Mason slams Petey into the guardrail and then tosses him back into the ring. Mason elbows Petey and covers him for a nearfall. Mason puts the boots to Petey and then drops him with a big Backbreaker! 1…2…NO Mason lets off of the pin to nail Sonjay off the apron as he was setting up to break it up! Mason turns around and Petey lights Mason up with chops. Mason slaps Petey and tosses him into the corner. Mason hits Petey with a series of shoulder blocks and then bites him. Mason hit’s a Snapmare Takeover and then dives off the middle rope with an elbow for another nearfall. Sonjay climbs back up on the apron and avoids a shoulder block from Mason and then kicks him in the head. Sonjay slingshots himself back into the ring and then locks Petey in an Octopus! Mason breaks it up and tosses Sonjay back out to the floor and then goes for a TKO on Petey, but Petey blocks it and then Sonjay comes flying out of nowhere with a Springboard Double Missile Dropkick! Sonjay grabs Mason and attempts to whip him into the corner but Mason reverses it and then charges at Sonjay. Sonjay avoids him by sliding between then ropes and then nails Mason with the Bombay Boom! Mason falls between the ropes and is left hanging there as Sonjay then slingshots himself over the turnbuckles into a Guillotine Leg Drop on Mason! Sonjay follows up with a Springboard Splash! 1…2…NO Mason kicks out! Sonjay then stes up for the Sonjay Cutter but Petey runs in so Sonjay releases Mason and kicks Petey. Sonjay hooks both Mason and Petey together and sets up for something but Petey blocks it and goes for a clothesline, but Sonjay ducks and Petey nails Mason. Petey then catches Sonjay with the Canadian Legsweep (Spinning Headscissors into a Russian Legsweep)! 1…2…NO Sonjay kicks out and Petey immediately nails Sonjay with an STO! Petey grabs Sonjay and calls for the Destroyer, but Sonjay blocks it and shoves him into the corner. Sonjay charges at Petey and Petey gets his legs up, but Sonjay grabs his foot and swings it into the ropes and then kicks his hamstring. Sonjay lifts Petey up to the top rope and sets up for a Frankensteiner but Petey shoves him off. Andrews then comes flying in springing to the top with a Frankensteiner on Petey! Sonjay then nails Mason with the Sonjay Cutter! Sonjay climbs up top and dives off with an attempt at the Moon Stomp, but Mason rolls out of the way. Sonjay is able to roll through it as he lands on his feet walks right into a Flying Knee from Mason! Petey then nails Mason with the Canadian Destroyer out of the corner and you’re damn right that’s it!

Winner: Petey via pinfall (Canadian Destroyer)

In the back Bully Ray talks to the Aces & Eights and says that he loves all of them but he isn’t in the best of moods because of Kurt Angle “and his punk friends.” He says nobody comes out and pisses on the Aces & Eights parade and he knows that they’ll get the job done tonight and says they need to go out tonight and “take their freakin’ souls.” Devon asks Bully if he’s ready to deal with his thing with Brooke and Bully mockingly says he misses his wife. Devon asks if he can get the “hot tag” but Bully says he didn’t doesn’t know if she’s into the tag team scene. Bully says he will look into his wife’s eyes tonight and hand her the envelope and they’ll be able to move forward.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

Kurt will star the match off for his team but it doesn’t seem like anyone from Aces & Eights is dying to get in there with him so Kurt grabs Wes and Hip Tosses him into the ring! Kurt then clotheslines him repeatedly before laying into him with right hands in the corner. Kurt chokes him and then hits a Snap Suplex for a nearfall. Wes pokes Kurt in the eyes and tags Garett in. Garett comes charging in and eats a Hip Toss from Kurt. Kurt beats on Garett in the corner now and chokes him with his knee. Kurt tags Magnus in and holds Garett as Magnus hits body shots. A “Joe” chant starts as the Samoan Monster picks Garett up, but Garett pokes him in the eyes and tags in Devon. Devon comes in and swings at Joe with lefts and rights but Joe ducks every one of them leaving Devon with nothing but air. Joe then nails Devon with a series of jabs and then whips him into the corner and comes flying in with a Running Back Elbow followed by a Leaping Enziguri! Joe then lights Devon up with a Knife Edge Chop followed by a kick to the back, a chop to the chest, and then a Knee Drop! 1…2…NO Devon kicks out! Joe picks Devon up but Devon catches Joe with a shot to the jab and then he quickly turns around and tags Knux in. Knux whips Joe into the ropes and attempts a clothesline but Joe ducks and nails Knux with a Leg Lariat! Joe tags EY in and holds Knux in place as EY dives off the top with a Flying Axe Handle. EY hits Knux with right hands in the corner but Knux catches him with a knee to the gut. Knux then hits a Forearm Smash and then slams him into the turnbuckles. Knux whips EY into the ropes but he holds onto them and then sidesteps Knux as he charges at EY sending Knux out to the floor! EY then hits a Slingshot Plancha over the top onto Knux on the floor!

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

Back from the break EY gets a nearfall on Knux and then tries to slam him into the turnbuckles, but Knux blocks it and slams EY into them. Knux whips EY into the opposite corner and EY attempts to float up and over Knux but Knux saw it coming and nails EY with a Forearm Smash. Knux hits a Big Boot that sends EY flying over the top rope! Knux follows him out and then beats him around ringside along with Devon. Back in the ring Knux Leg Drops EY and tags DOC in. Knux holds him in place as DOC hits an Elbow Drop on EY before destroying EY in the corner with body shot after body shot followed by an uppercut. Wes & Garett slide into the ring so Park leaves his perch on the top and double clotheslines them! DOC slides back in and low blows Park (the referee was dealing with a brawl on the outside) and covers Park as the referee finally climbs back in! 1...2…3!

Winners: Aces & Eights via pinfall (low blow)

Hulk tries to talk Brooke out of doing the face to face with Bully but she says that she’s a huge reason for all of what happened so she needs to do this and promises she’ll bring security with her.

    ----COMMERCIAL BREAK----

Footage of the Bully/Brooke drama is shown.

Bully Ray makes his way down to the ring and actually yells at a kid near him making him move out of the way. Bully Ray says in seven days it will be the biggest TNA World Title Rematch ever between he and Hardy in Full Metal Mayhem. Ray says Jeff Hardy has to be the stupidest person he’s ever met and asks why he would challenge Bully that involves tables, ladders, & chairs…oh my. Ray says that’s in seven days but tonight he has to take care of some personal business. He asks Brooke to come down to the ring.

Brooke makes her way down with security alongside her. Bully mockingly calls her “honey” and asks why she doesn’t have her wedding ring on. He shows his ring to her and says it’s a sign of his love and devotion to her. Bully says he’ll give her a pass this time but from now on she better do what she’s told and wear her ring. Ray asks her whys he brought security guard and asks if they’re here for his protection. She tries to interrupt him but he tells her to listen and asks if she saw herself after she went psycho backstage after Lockdown. He calls her insane and says that she should have been happy that night because her husband became World Heavyweight Champion. He says that she should have been hugging and loving him like a good wife should, but instead she is an insane woman. He says that he forgives her and then asks her if she knows what’s in the envelope. She says that she hopes it’s divorce papers but he says she is his wife and she is the “wings beneath my wings” mockingly. Ray says that he couldn’t have done everything without her and then hands the envelope to her and she pulls out a ticket from the envelope. It’s a front row seat to next week’s show and he wants her to sit front row as he defeats Jeff Hardy for the 2nd time. Bully says he wants her by his side cheering him on as he defends his belt. He says he wants her to look the best she can because lately she’s let herself go. Brooke then rips the ticket up and slaps Ray! Ray laughs as a “you suck” chant starts and then he says he can’t help but laugh at her because she’s pathetic. Bully says she just smacked him in the face but he’s laughing at her because he’s in her head so bad that it’s really not funny. Ray says that he’s been in her head since day one and then asks her if she wants to smack him again, but Jeff Hardy’s music interrupts him! Ray screams at Brooke to get out of his ring as Hardy runs down!

Hardy goes after Ray and the two brawl around the ring! Jeff’s nikes are pretty sick actually. Ray catches Hardy with a big right hand but Hardy answers with one of his own and then he and Ray continue to brawl all around the ring.

    Steamboat's Departure
    Steamboat's Departure

    - As noted before, Ricky Steamboat is no longer a coach in WWE developmental but official company word is that he will be staying within the Talent Relations department. A lot of the guys in NXT are bummed about the news because of who Steamboat is. He was said to be a very good coach overall. There was talk that some of his ideas didn't fit in with the current product but if anything negative was said about him it was very minor.
