Matt Morgan in Iron Man 2

TNA star to have a role in Iron Man II?
Posted by Randy Gordon on 02/22/2009 at 01:16 AM

The Pain Clinic with Matt Morgan
Hosts: Rich "Cashman" Jones, Murph, JZ, The Artiste, and Dangerboy
Available on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK and at FeelThePain.net.

Matt Morgan joins the show and right off the bat we discussed his status with American Gladiators and Matt tells us that as far as he knows it's not cancelled. Matt said it hasn't been shut down just yet. He's still doing PR for the show.

He talks about visiting Afghanistan on a PR venture with American Gladiators and he talks about what that was like. Being seven feet tall, it's hard to protect him during the visit.

We ask Matt about teaming with Brutus Magnus last week on TNA's Impact. He talks about both of them being a Gladiator with Brutus being on the UK version of the show. This leads Matt talking about his motivation when he was doing the show. He loved American Gladiators growing up and he wanted to be the arrogant heel of the show.

Matt talks about hanging with Hulk Hogan during the tapings. Hulk would tell him about seeing him on Impact and gave him tips on his character. He agreed with Matt about being the heel character on American Gladiators. Hulk put Matt over huge in his debut on Gladiators.

Matt talks about possibly being cast as Doomsday on the WB show Smallville. Matt originally was trying out for another part. He was too big for the character but when they realized his size they figured he would be great for the part of Doomsday. Unfortunately that part was already cast for Season 8. They are trying to write him into Smallville's 9th season (next fall) as the Doomsday character.

This leads into Matt talking about possibly being cast in Ironman II as a villain but he can't talk anymore about it. He attributes the interest in him by casting directors to the work he's done on American Gladiators. He talks about all the great things that have happened since appearing on the show.

He talks about an old fan site that closed recently. He used to be involved with it but not anymore. He's not on Facebook or Myspace.

Matt talks about seeing The Wrestler with the locker room of TNA while in the UK. He loved the movie and he thought Mickey Rourke did a great job. He thought that maybe they could have shown Mickey's character as being more successful in the past and enjoying the popularity. He felt the characterization of Mickey's character was a downer.

This leads to Matt talking about working with Jim Cornette in WWE as well as TNA. Jim is a great mentor and helped him go over every match and every promo. He puts Jim over big time.

Matt talks about what he and his wife did on Valentine's Day. He talks about his wife and how she helped motivate him when times where tough.

Matt talks about working TNA's house shows coming up in March. TNA will be in OVW territory and he's going to catchup with some of his boys when he's there.

Matt talks about his recent surgery and working after a procedure and getting eight inches of stitches five days before the PPV.

We let him go soon after!

    Sonjay Dutt weg van TNA?

Another popular X-Division star on his way out

    source: PWInsider.com

X Division wrestler Sonjay Dutt, 26, is the latest wrestler to part ways with TNA. His contract was coming up next month and the two sides weren't able to come to terms on a new deal.

The departure caught a few people by surprise as he was a big part of the company's face in India, where Impact is a high rated show.

While he hadn't been used much in recent months, his name was still coming up in creative meetings as recently as last week, so company officials were looking to keep him on board until sometime this weekend.

As a result of Dutt's departure from the organization, it remains to be seen where SoCal Val goes from here. She had been working as his valet in recent months following the conclusion of his feud with "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal.

The TNA website has already removed his profile from the roster page, thus confirming his departure from the organization.

Divas Champion Maryse & Michelle McCool def. Maria & Eve Torres (Divas Tag Team Match)
Montel Vontavious Porter def. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Chavo Guerrero (Handicap Match)
    Umaga def. Scotty Goldman
Jeff Hardy def. Edge (DQ) (Non-Title Match)

PORTLAND, Ore. – In the stunning wake of No Way Out, an Ultimate Opportunist brings the World Heavyweight Championship back to SmackDown, a brother’s hatred fuels another vicious insurgence and a restored king makes a furious decree.

Jeff Hardy def. Edge (DQ) (Non-Title Match) (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After making history by competing in two Elimination Chamber matches in one night at No Way Out, new World Heavyweight Champion Edge made his gleeful return to Friday Night SmackDown. When the Rated-R Superstar denied the emerging Jeff Hardy his challenge, Hardy ridiculed the champion’s relationship with his wife before hitting him with a Twist of Fate. (PHOTOS)  An embarrassed Edge then told General Manager Vickie Guerrero that he would be facing Hardy later that night.

At the climax of their whirlwind match, Hardy hit Edge with the Swanton Bomb. Victory seemed imminent for the high-flying Superstar, when from out of nowhere, Matt Hardy attacked, hitting his brother with a Twist of Fate of his own. As the smoke cleared, Matt challenged an unconscious Jeff to a match next week.

J.R.’s Exclusive Interview with WWE Champion Triple H about the events on this week’s Monday Night Raw(WATCH)
In an exclusive interview, Triple H told J.R. that when Randy Orton put his hands on his wife, Stephanie McMahon – following weeks of attacks on the McMahon family - he "crossed the line" that he can never come back from. The Game was too upset to finish the interview, ripping the microphone from his shirt and leaving without a word. However, with word that The King of Kings will be at Raw to confront Orton this Monday night, one can only speculate on the horrific ramifications that will follow.

Divas Champion Maryse & Michelle McCool def. Maria & Eve Torres (Divas Tag Team Match) (PHOTOS)
Maryse made her return to action, entering into a seemingly bittersweet tag team partnership with the foe she defeated for the Divas Championship, Michelle McCool. While Eve was mounting an offense on Maryse in the corner and the referee was distracted by getting Maria out of the ring, Michelle delivered a powerful kick to Eve’s head, paving the way for Maryse to pick up the win.

World Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison have their Valentine's Day date with the Bella Twins (WATCH)
WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo disguised themselves as waiters to disturb the Valentine’s Day date that Miz & Morrison won with Nikki & Brie Bella one week ago. But their plan ended in disaster when The Colons accidentally threw two pies into the Bella Twins’ faces. Next week, Carlito and Primo will defend their Tag Team Championships against the “Dirt Sheet” duo. If Miz & Morrison can prove victorious, they will become the Undisputed Tag Team Champions.

Montel Vontavious Porter vs. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Chavo Guerrero (Handicap Match) (PHOTOS)
Following the sneak attack by the Gold Standard last week and post-match Frog Splash by Chavo Guerrero, MVP attempted to recruit tag team partner R-Truth to extract his revenge. However, Benjamin & Guerrero took out R-Truth as he was making his entrance, prompting the Ballin’ Superstar to take both on in a Handicap Match.

When Benjamin tagged himself in just as Guerrero was closing in on the win, Chavo turned his outrage on his partner. He hit the Gold Standard with the Frog Splash before taking off, leaving MVP to execute the Drive-By on the dazed United States Champion. As a result, MVP added another victory to his winning streak as the race for the United States Championship continues to heat up.

    Umaga def. Scotty Goldman (PHOTOS)
Umaga decimated Scotty Goldman as he has every Superstar that has crossed his path since his return to WWE. Despite some comical words by Goldman about his opponent Umaga prior to the match,  he wasn’t laughing for long. Umaga laid waste to Goldman, hitting a combination chokeslam, Samoan Spike for another impressive victory.

SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero disputes Undertaker’s opponent at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania (WATCH what she had to say on SmackDown).

TOMMY DREAMER IN PROBLEMEN MET WWE MANAGEMENT

ECW Superstar In Trouble With WWE Management

Tommy Dreamer says that he was in trouble with WWE management last week after speaking about behind-the-scenes topics and ratings in his latest blog on WWE Universe, which you can read in its entirety here.

“Well it seems that my last blog caused quite a stir with some of the higher ups in WWE. I guess you are not supposed to talk about ratings or other stuff that goes on behind the scenes. Well I have been a leader of a revolution before so I guess that makes me a rebel, so why stop now.” Dreamer said on his latest WWE Universe blog.

Dreamer goes on to talk about John Morrison and The Miz who he is currently feuding against on ECW calling them "pathetic" and "not only embarrassing to myself but several other WWE people."

    UPDATE VICTORIA'S MMA career

Update On Former WWE Diva Victoria’s MMA Career

Former WWE Diva Victoria posted a new blog on her MySpace page where she talks about training hard for MMA. The following is her blog:

    Vomit in My Hair

    Hey MySpacers !!!

Yeah, that's right. I had vomit in my hair. I've been training like nobody's business. All sorts of insane MMA workouts and exercises that only a sadist could think of. I really feel like I'm making incredible progress. But the other day, I ate too close to a workout. And I threw up. Puke in my own hair. I'm not in Diva-Land anymore. Just call me Pukey McBarfov. I haven't trained this hard since my fitness competition days.

I will be making an appearance at the Carl Casper Auto Show in Louisville on Friday and Saturday night from 7-9 PM. It will be right across from my Black Widow Customs booth at the show where I will be showing my latest build, that we literally are finishing at the show! It is "The Green Machine", and it was so much fun to put together. Both nights I will be with members of my MMA training team. Friday night it will be UFC and Pride Veteran Alex "The Brazilian Killa" Stiebling.

I had a blast in Chicago at the Chicago Auto Show last week. I ate so much good food too. One night, I went to Chinatown's Three Happiness restaurant and ate Chicken Feet. Another night, I went to Brazzaz, a Brazilian steakhouse where they keep bringing meats around on skewers until you ask them to stop. I also had Sushi at SushiSamba, a restaurant that I always go to with Lillian when I'm in New York, but is now in Chicago.

I don't know if I ever mentioned that my doggie adoption went through. I adopted Sophie, a pit bull. She is super happy and friendly, but she definitely needs the obedience school that I've already signed her up for.
I'm gonna try to post pics with my blogs. This is my first attempt. If you see pics, it's because I'm smart. If you don't, it's definitely the computer's fault...

Later Taters, Lisa Marie aka Pukey McBarfov : )

News regarding a Divas match at WM 25

News regarding a Divas match at WM 25

With no Playboy push this year -- and no huge feud going on at the moment -- the possibility of a Divas match taking place at Wrestlemania 25 remains in question.

A possible Divas match still remains unplanned at this point and time, but a few of the Divas are pushing hard to be included on WWE's biggest show of the year as they are tossing out ideas to the creative team.

In another note, the word backstage is that Undertaker is using his pull to get girlfriend Michelle McCool a spot on the Wrestlemania 25 card.

Candice Michelle gefrustreerd omdat ze bijna niet meer mag worstelen

WWE Raw diva Candice Michelle doesn't care where she ends up during the upcoming 2009 Draft rearranging talent on Raw, Smackdown, and ECW. She just wants to wrestle.

Candice claims she's working on a few new moves for when she's back in the ring wrestling full-time and she's becoming frustrated by her lack of TV time.

"I promise you I have stuff in the works and I will be back on top," Candice said on a WWE live blog during Sunday's No Way Out PPV. "Matter of fact, I hate not working!"

Candice wouldn't mind moving to Smackdown where she there is "enormous talent" and she could go after Maryse's Divas Title.

"I wanna fricken wrestle and I'm doing everything to get back to where I was!" Candice said, referring to a major shoulder injury and subsequent re-injury of the same area that kept her off TV throughout 2008.

The Knockouts still a big ratings draw

Posted by Randy Gordon on 02/19/2009 at 10:32 AM

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

As reported earlier, last Thursday’s edition of TNA iMPACT drew a 1.22 cable rating and 1.7 million viewers. It was the third largest viewing audience in the history of the show. It would appear that the bump in the rating was as a result of the the older Male demographic as it drew some of its best numbers. The show did a 1.17 in Males 35-49 (the all-time record for the program), as well as a 1.14 in Males 50+. The show drew a 0.89 in Males 18-34, which was also up.

The big winner of the night was the 9-Women Gauntlet Match featuring Angelina Love, Taylor Wilde, Velvet Sky, Sojournor Bolt, Roxxi, Madison Rayne, Raisha Saeed, Rhaka Khan and ODB. The match was a big hit as it gained 125,000 viewers, peaking with a 1.33 quarter hour. This number appears to be the highest rated quarter hour in the history of the company — that wasn’t the first quarter coming off a lead-in show such as CSI or UFC with big ratings. I believe a Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong match that aired early last year drew a 1.32 quarter hour, and TNA has definitely never drawn above a 1.35 because it would therefore round up to a 1.4 quarter hour. The show’s rating plummeted following the Knockouts match as viewers tuned out by the droves. The Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed match following the Knockouts lost 195,000 viewers. X Division matches, especially ones featuring the Motor City Machine Guns for some reason, are usually big ratings losers as this isn’t the first time tens of thousands of viewers tuned out during a match featuring them. Viewers continued to tune out as the Beer Money, Inc. vs. Abyss & Rhino match lost 70,000 viewers — bringing the total viewer loss following the Knockouts match to 265,000. The show closing Kurt Angle vs. Sting match drew a slight bump, gaining 14,000 viewers to finish at a 1.15. iMPACT lost nearly 0.2 ratings points following the Knockouts match at the top of the hour.

In other ratings notes, Kurt Angle’s promo with Sting during the second quarter hour lost 14,000 viewers. The Scott Steiner vs. Petey Williams “No DQ Headdress On A Pole Match” gained 56,000 viewers.
