John Cena hurt his ankle on tonight's episode of Raw after he landed on it awkwardly when chasing Dolph Ziggler to the back. Cena got his foot caught when leaving the ring which resulted in him landing badly on the outside. Cena limped his way to the back afterwards.

WWE acknowledged the injury with a trainer backstage saying he thinks Cena “might have a torn meniscus” as he wrapped it.

When asked why WWE would release him, as well as fellow developmental wrestlers Chase Donovan and Nick Rogers, he wrote, "Its a mystery! Unfortunately I don't know the answer why this happened." He then re-tweeted a message stating, "WWE was stupid releasing you."

Baxter added that he has plans to continue wrestling

York Says TNA's "Gut Check" Is Not Rehearsed

York Says TNA's "Gut Check" Is Not Rehearsed
Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/22/2012 at 01:03 PM

Christian York appeared on the Shining Wizards podcast (available at ShiningWizards.com). Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On how he got involved on Gut Check: "I was working in MCW (Maryland Championship Wrestling) and TNA was doing a house show in Bowie, Maryland, and the agents asked for a list of 10 guys, and I was one of the 10. I was eating breakfast with my wife, and they gave me call saying, we want to use you on some house shows and get a look at you. So I did that, and they called me back about doing this Gut Check."

On the Gut Check Experience: "They told me it's all a shoot, it's all real. It's not scripted stuff or anything like that, and we did that. We went from there, they did the profile thing with me, and then the match with Zema (Ion), which was pretty wild. All day long you don't know anything, its just like a rehearsal type thing. Just stand in the ring and we will go from there. Its all a shoot, they want raw emotion."

The Boy Band Gimmick: "We started that in '99. We weren't really on board with the boy band thing. We were like, man, that's gay. We were trying to be edgy, like every indy wrestler, trying to be cool as hell. We wanted to be called Fourplay, but we ended up being the Badstreet Boys. It worked, we had tons of girls as fans. Kanyon had seen the gimmick and had the idea of getting Shane Helms and Shannon Moore a tryout. Myself and Joey didn't have any idea about this. Then Shane called and said, hey, man, we just got signed, and I was like, did we get signed? And he was like, no, they are gonna give you a tryout, we are gonna do the boy band gimmick with Evan (Karagias). "

On WCW not being around: "I miss the hell out of it, man. I wish it was still around so guys would have a place to work."

First Run with WWF/ECW: "After we got released from WCW we had a no compete clause, 120 days. We waited and we just said, let's go there and try to get on. And we got on, it was pretty cool. They let us do dives and like all kinds of stuff, stuff that unheard of. They were like, just go out there in tear it up. So we did that, and they liked us and stuff, but we looked like kids compared to the cast of characters in WWF at the time. So they said why don't you go to ECW and go there and get over, get seasoned, and then come back here. We got in touch with Tommy Dreamer, and they were already interested in us, so we went there and off we went."

    UITSLAGEN ROH 17 NOVEMBER

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show. Kevin says we’re going to start with the Women of Honor but instead the Briscoes come to the ring. Jay gets on the mic and asks all of the wrestlers in the back to come down to ringside. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, Jay Lethal and SCUM are the only wrestlers not to come down. Jay says SCUM have the fans brainwashed into thinking it’s cool to put down ROH. He says when you knock ROH, you’re knocking all of the current roster and all of the guys who made ROH what it is today. Jay says he and Mark went down to Louisville to talk to Jim Cornette and he then talked to everybody in the back and they have found a new matchmaker. He says he’s going to restore honor into ROH; he then presents Nigel McGuinness as the new matchmaker.

Nigel says he doesn’t know what has happened to the old ROH; the same ROH that made his dreams of wrestling a reality. He says he still sees guys putting on the best matches in the world, guys with lots of passion and love for pro wrestling. He says the people who still believe in this company are going to take it back. His first decision as matchmaker is to make Kevin Steen vs. El Generico for ‘Final Battle 2012′. Nigel says Generico only had one request to make the match; he wanted a Ladder War. He then goes on to say that Corino & Jacobs need opponents in New York. He says they will defend against Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander as well as the Briscoes in a three-way match for the Tag Team titles! Jay gets the mic back and says ROH doesn’t raise the bar; it is the bar and they’re taking back ROH. Honor Lives.

    Allysin Kay vs. MsChif

Kay disrespects MsChif early on with a slap and then drives her into the corner before hitting a big boot. MsChif fights back but then walks into a big clothesline for a two count. Kay continues to dominate and hits a samoan drop for another two count. MsChif gets a two count of her own with a unique bridging pin but Kay comes back with another two count. Kay goes for a kick but MsChif catches it, kicks Kay low and then hits a modified DDT for the win.

    Winner by pinfall: MsChif

ROHWorld.com’s thoughts: This was a decent enough Women of Honor match and the first for quite a while. It’s difficult to see how they’re going to fit a women’s division into the show if that’s the way they’re going with it. We all know about MsChif and Kay looked a promising competitor.

    Tadarius Thomas vs. Roderick Strong

Truth Martini joins Kevin Kelly on commentary for the match as Strong mocks Thomas instead of shaking his hand. Martini says he has released Rhino from the House of Truth. Thomas uses his unique style to kick Strong in the face and then goes to work on him with a suplex. The pair fight on the ring apron before Strong lifts Thomas up and throws him back first into the turnbuckle post. Thomas tries to fight back but he then walks into a jumping kick to the face. Thomas then comes back with a variety of kicks and then a clothesline for two. Strong comes back with a jumping knee before hitting a huge suplex backbreaker for the win.

    Winner by pinfall: Roderick Strong

Strong then gets on the mic and tells Martini to get the hint; he’s not a part of the House of Truth any longer and then storms off.

ROHWorld.com’s thoughts: Thomas once again impressed with his very unique style. He looked very competitive against Strong and the match was a good one. I’d like to see another match between these two with a bit more time given to them. All in all, a decent match.

In this week’s Inside ROH, Kevin Kelly confirms the matches that Nigel McGuinness has already made for ‘Final Battle 2012′. He also runs down the Adam Cole v Matt Hardy match that was confirmed last week. Matt Hardy says he has nothing to prove and Cole is the one with everything to lose. He says at Final Battle, he can finally come out of Hardy’s shadow. Kelly also says that Nigel McGuinness will make a decision on whether Michael Elgin will face Roderick Strong at Final Battle next week. Jay Lethal talks about his situation and tells ROH that if they think they’ve seen him at his worst, they haven’t seen anything yet.

Nigel McGuinness shows off the new ROH World TV title before our main event of the evening.

    ROH World TV Title Match
Adam Cole (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly

Cole has the best of the opening exchanges and knocks O’Reilly to the outside with a jumping enziguri. O’Reilly blocks Cole’s attempt at a suicide dive, Cole then kicks O’Reilly when he tries to dive out and then Cole finally hits the suicide dive. Cole throws O’Reilly into the barricades on the outside but then O’Reilly hits a dropkick to Cole when he goes for a crossbody off the rope. O’Reilly continues to control Cole as Davey Richards comes down to ringside and asks Nigel to let him talk to Kyle in the ring next week. Nigel agrees and he goes to the back after he and O’Reilly stare each other down. Cole capitalises on the brief distraction to hit a jumping DDT to O’Reilly on the apron.

Cole follows that up with a big splash off the top rope as the crowd chant ‘This Is Awesome’. O’Reilly blocks a figure four attempt and then reverses another attempt into a small package for two. Both men hit kicks but they refuse to stay down. O’Reilly hits a Regalplex for two and then locks in the Triangle Choke and starts hitting elbows. Cole somehow gets out of it as the pair trade blows from their knees before the slug it out on their feet. Tornado DDT from O’Reilly followed by a brainbuster only gets him two as he then locks in a guillotine choke.

Cole manages to get to his feet and pick O’Reilly up before hitting the backbreaker. ‘This Is Wrestling’ chants from the crowd as Cole hits a reverse superkick and the Florida Quay to get the victory. Cole celebrates with the brand new TV title as Nigel hits the ring and puts the belt around his waist.

ROHWorld.com’s thoughts: This was the third match between these two former tag team partners and it was simply brilliant. They managed to put a lot of stuff into a ten minute match and it made for an exciting, action-packed match. Both guys looked great after this one and I still think there is space for a big blowoff to this feud after O’Reilly is done with Davey. Overall, one of the best matches on ROH TV.

Next week’s main event will see SCUM defend the ROH World Tag Team titles against Rhett Titus & BJ Whitmer.

    Resultaten WWE Survivor Series 2012

    Pre-show
With Drew McIntyre looking on from ringside, Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal showed up in Indy ready to shred “Team Co-Bro.” The two former United States Champions, usually full of fun and games, were all business against the self-proclaimed “three-mendous” rock stars.

Co-Bro impressively worked in tandem to take control in the early-goings of the matchup. The Milan Miracle shouted “You stupid!” on several occasions as he grappled with his opponents on the mat. Santino went to use his patented Cobra early in the contest, but it might have been premature. Slater grabbed the green sleeve and tossed it from the ring, leaving Marella at an immediate disadvantage. The power-walking host of YouTube’s “Foreign Exchange” next attempted a double-clothesline on his foes, but missed both and splatted onto the canvas.

Long Island Iced-Z got the tag, but missed an attempted dropkick off the ropes onto Slater, allowing 3MB to gain the upper hand. Jinder Mahal, eager to make a name for himself at WWE’s fall classic, nailed a series of impressive maneuvers on both Zack and Santino. The powerhouse from Punjab showed off with a few guitar strums, but a miscue by the band allowed Ryder to soar with a missile dropkick onto Mahal from the top rope.

The self-proclaimed “Internet Champion,” sensing victory in his grasp, scored with a Broski Boot to Jinder’s face. Co-Bro seemed to have the match won, but Slater disrupted the pinfall attempt. Santino, having seen enough, dashed toward the redheaded frontman to even the odds. His efforts were fruitless, however, and he was dispatched to ringside by the former Tag Team Champion.

With the action becoming chaotic, Zack nailed the Rough Ryder on Jinder seemingly out of nowhere. Once again, though, the heroes’ chances at victory were thwarted, this time by McIntyre. The Chosen One had been lurking the entire matchup, and his physical involvement allowed Mahal to slam the hair-spiked Broski down for the win.

Sheamus looks on in concern at the official. Show stands up and waits for Sheamus to turn, hitting him with the KO punch. A ref in the ring standing by counts three and awards the match to Big Show.

Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Big Show

Following the match, the same official heads over to the announcer and tells him that Show has been DQ'ed.

Winner: Sheamus, Big Show retains the title

Show argues with the ref, and this allows Sheamus to recover. Sheamus grabs a chair and attacks Show, using it to blast Show repeatedly. Show writhes in pain on the arena floor as Sheamus winds up and hits Show in the knees. Show begs off, asking Sheamus to stop. Sheamus tells Show to beg. Sheamus tosses aside the chair, but he lays out Show with a brogue kick.

    Team Ziggler vs. Team Foley

Ricardo Rodriguez is out to announce Alberto Del Rio who makes his way out into the arena in a Rolls Royce. Del Rio doesn't get much of a reaction out of the crowd. I'm sensing a theme for the night.

Damien Sandow is out next for his team, also getting no reaction. Cole goes over Cody Rhodes' injury while his replacement, David Otunga makes his way to the ring.

Wade Barrett is the fourth man for his team out to the ring. Guess what, there's not really much of a reaction for him, what a surprise.

Team Captain Dolph Ziggler is out to the ring next, and the crowd actually seems to come alive, just a bit, as Mr. Money in the Bank makes his way out to the ring.

Mick Foley makes his way out, apparently acting as the team captain for his team even though he won't be wrestling at all. Foley gets a bit of a pop from the crowd.

Kane and Daniel Bryan are the first competitors to make their way out to the ring for Team Foley. Bryan is wearing a pretty amazing jacket, and his beard just keeps getting more epic.

Kofi Kingston is out next, and the Intercontinental champion gets a bit of a pop that fades almost instantly.

Miz is the fourth man out for Team Foley, and he too doesn't get much of a reaction as it looks like the crowd are sitting on their hands.

Randy Orton is the last man out for Team Foley, and at least he gets a bit of a pop, hopefully bringing some life to the crowd.

The bell rings and it looks like Otunga and Kofi will kick things off. Kingston goes for a roll up right away, getting two and going straight away for a drop kick. Otunga heads out to the floor, and Kingston follows with a springboard dive to the outside, wiping out Otunga. Back in the ring, Kingston tries for a pin, getting two. Bryan tags into the ring, uppercutting Otunga, but getting caught with a sloppy powerslam. Sandow tags in and attacks, catches Bryan with a Russian leg sweep before hitting the elbow of disdain. Sandow clamps on a rear chin lock, but Bryan fights up to his feet and out of the hold, wiping Sandow out with a running clothesline and corner dropkick.

Bryan kicks away at Sandow's chest, until Sandow bails from the ring. Sandow wishes his team good luck and walks toward the back, until he's brought back to the ring by Kane. Bryan kicks Sandow in the side of the head and Kane tags in to chokeslam Sandow for the three count.

    Damien Sandow has been eliminated.

Kane and Bryan argue and Kane shoves Bryan to the outside. Ziggler catches Kane with the Zig Zag from behind and gets the three count.

    Kane has been eliminated.

Orton and Miz argue until Ziggler attacks again. Orton takes Ziggler out with a slingshot suplex before tagging out to Kofi.

Kofi wipes out Ziggler before tagging Bryan back into the match. Bryan runs right into a knee to the gut from Ziggler. This allows Ziggler to tag in Barrett. Bryan goes for the corner dropkick on Barrett, but misses. Barrett ties Bryan up in the ropes and Del Rio gets in a cheap shot before Barrett kicks Bryan to the outside. Barrett backs Bryan up into the apron and brings things back into the ring. Barrett tags in Otunga who comes in with an explosive shoulder block, but gets trapped in the No lock out of a pin attempt. Barrett tags in and hits a black hole slam before hitting Kofi with the bull hammer for the three count.

    Kofi Kingston has been eliminated.

Orton comes in and hits Barrett with a big dropkick, but runs into Barrett's boot in the corner. Barrett tries for a suplex, but Orton blocks it, hitting Barrett with a suplex of his own before dropping a knee across Wade's face. Orton tags Bryan back into the match. Bryan kicks away at Barrett, screaming No the whole time. Bryan heads to the middle rope and hits a shotgun missile dropkick, getting a two count. Bryan kicks away at Barrett's chest, but he's clotheslined to the outside out of nowhere. Del Rio tags in and brings things back into the ring, but immediately ends up trapped in the No lock. Del Rio breaks it and kicks Bryan in the back before hitting him with a running kick in the corner. Del Rio locks on the cross arm breaker and Bryan is forced to tap.

    Daniel Bryan has been eliminated.

Miz heads into the ring and hits Del Rio with a big back elbow. Orton tags back into the match and stomps away at Del Rio. Orton hits Del Rio with a clubbing blow to the chest before going for the pin and getting two. Del Rio kicks Orton's arm and drops him down with an arm breaker before tagging Ziggler back in. Ziggler kicks away and drops an elbow on Orton before clamping on a rear chin lock. Orton fights out and launches Ziggler up, pancaking him out on the mat. Miz tags in and so does Barrett, Miz takes Barrett into the corner and hits him with a series of rights before hitting the corner dropkick, and sending Ziggler from the apron. Miz heads to the top and hits a double axe handle smash to Barrett. Barrett avoids the SCF and kicks Miz in the stomach.

Barrett tries for the wasteland, but Miz counters into the SCF, getting the three count.

    Wade Barrett has been eliminated.

Del Rio comes in and gets laid out by Miz, only to comes back with a giant German suplex, bridging into a pin for two. Miz is able to take Del Rio out in the corner, but Del Rio comes back with an enzugiri to the back of the head that takes Miz down for a three count.

    Miz has been eliminated.

Orton heads in and hits Del Rio with a couple of rights, but he turns to Ziggler, and Del Rio takes Orton down for a two count. Ziggler tags in and takes Orton down with a neckbreaker for another near fall. Del Rio tags back in and leaps up, coming down with a double stomp on Orton's chest. Del Rio heads to the top rope and leaps off, right into a dropkick from Orton. Orton hits Del Rio with a couple of clotheslines, and a quick powerslam. Orton gets distracted by Ricardo and Del Rio hits Orton with an enzugiri for another two count. Foley attacks Ricardo and puts on Mr. Socko, applying it to Ricardo on the outside to a big pop.

Orton tries for the RKO, but Ziggler interrupts, accidentally kicking Del Rio. Orton sends Ziggler into the ring post and he's able to hit Del Rio with the RKO, pinning him for three.

Alberto Del Rio has been eliminated.

Orton drops down to the mat and psychs himself up. He tries for the RKO, but Ziggler holds on to the ropes. Ziggler hits the Zig Zag, but Orton is able to kick out at two. Ziggler goes for the rocker dropper, but Orton avoids it and sends Ziggler out to the apron, bringing him back into the ring with the suspension DDT. Orton backs away from Ziggler, setting up for the punt. Ziggler stirs, Orton charges, but he's caught with a superkick. Ziggler pins Orton for three.

Winner and SOLE SURVIVOR: Dolph Ziggler

    WWE Championship
    Triple Threat Match
CM Punk (c) vs. John Cena vs. Ryback

John Cena is the first man out to the ring, and he gets a mixed reaction that seems more on the negative side initially, but at least the crowd is reacting to something, so I guess that's a good thing.

CM Punk is the second man out to the ring, and the champion is accompanied by his advisor Paul Heyman. Punk gets a mixed reaction, but mostly positive from the crowd. Cole notes that today is the 364th day of Punk's reign.

Ryback is the final competitor to make his way out to the ring, and he doesn't get much of a reaction at all. It looks like we won't be getting formal ring introductions for this one as the competitors were announced on their way to the ring.

The bell rings and everyone stares each other down before Punk bails from the ring. Cena gives chase for a bit, then Ryback gives chase, leading to Punk catching a right hand from Cena. Ryback fights off an AA attempt, hitting a shoulder block of his own. Ryback launches Cena across the ring hard, sending him to the outside. Ryback fights to his feet, sending Punk into the ropes and putting him down with a clothesline and a back body drop. Ryback plants Punk with a spinebuster, then follows up with a giant clothesline.

Punk points to the sky and leaps off with an elbow drop to Cena's back. Punk calls for the GTS. Punk shoulders Cena but Cena fights out. Cena and Punk trade right hands, back and forth. Ryback clotheslines both men. Ryback tosses Punk out of the ring, then tosses Cena out after him. Ryback heads to the outside and says 'finish it'. The following are results from the SmackDown edition set to air tonight and are based on an international broadcast

Welcome to WWE Smackdown and this week we come to you from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio for the go home show before this Sunday’s Survivor Series PPV. And we kick off the voiceover guy re-capping CM Punk’s 362 day reign as WWE Champion and the formation of Team Foley & Team Punk now Team Ziggler.

Sheamus is pacing back and forth in the parking lot of the Q Arena and we go into the arena where Tony Chimel introduces Cleveland’s own, The Miz. The crowd launches into a “Miz Is Awesome” chant and Miz says it’s good to be home and welcomes everyone to the most must see talk show in history MizTV and says in 2 days the WWE hosts Survivor Series and he will be on Team Foley because the WWE Universe voted for him during Raw last Monday as if there were any doubt. He’s on the poster because he is a survivor and has accomplished more than any other Survivor Series participant and he’s not going to blindly fall in line behind any team captain whether it’s Dolph Ziggler or Mick Foley. He then introduces Foley as his guest tonight. Foley takes the mic and says he appreciates Miz having him as his guest and had some reservations of putting him on the ballot during Raw active and calls Miz a tale of two people and wonders who is going to show up on Team Foley this Sunday. Will it be the Wrestlemania main eventing, John Cena defeating. Awesome inducing, self surviving WWE superstar that he knows Miz can be or will it be the vacation taking, chair sitting, make up wearing, weak beard growing Miz who shows up on Smackdown and Raw from time to time and asks which tale of the Miz will show up. Miz says he’s the least of Foley’s problems. He needs to worry about the rest of his team. He has a team that doesn’t like each other, an apex predator that doesn’t play well with others and a cheap shot artist who stole his intercontinental championship. Mick then says he took it upon himself to have a team meeting on MizTV and Kofi Kingston comes out first followed by Team Hell No. Foley then opens up the lines of communication and asks anyone to start and Bryan says Kane is trying to apologize for calling Bryan the weak link of the team but Kane says he wants to thank Miz for being such a great tag team partner Monday night and says his back feels so strong from not having to carry somebody and Bryan says without him, Kane would be roaming basements and scaring little children. Kane said he’d be roaming basements and scaring little children regardless. They then do their arguing over who’s the tag team champion until Kingston breaks it up and Miz tells Kingston last week he went to shake Kingston’s hand and Kingston kicked him in the face. Kingston then tells Miz to take two steps back or he’ll do it again. Foley then tells Kingston and Miz to show Team unity and says it turns out the voice of reason may turn out to be Randy Orton. Orton says he’s spat in Foley’s face many times and he threw Orton into a pile of thumbtacks long ago and says he likes Foley more than any member of his team and says there’s not one member of the team he does like or trust and Team Ziggler comes out. Ziggler calls Team Foley the definition of dysfunction and says that’s pretty sad even for Foley. Ziggler says there’s no ego on his team they are all united behind one charismatic leader and Del Rio says he doesn’t think Ziggler has what it takes to be team leader and there’s only one person who deserves to be leader and it’s not Ziggler. Del Rio says Ziggler doesn’t talk down to him he’s a former world champion and Ziggler says he’s a future world champion and would rather be a future anything than former anything and tells Foley to stay out of it he’s not involved and Foley says actually he is because he ran this place at one time and made some pretty good matches and asked Booker T for the opportunity to make some pretty good matches tonight and he said it was ok with Team Ziggler’s blessing. Foley then makes his first match. Alberto Del Rio & Dolph Ziggler vs Miz & Randy Orton. Ziggler says that’s fine he’s glad Miz quit because Miz couldn’t cut it and got someone way better Wade Barrett. Barrett says Team Ziggler replaced a quitter with a winner and Foley then makes Wade Barrett vs Kane. Sandow then calls for silence and says Team Foley is in disarray. They have a goat faced one word wonder running around with an anger problem, his tag team partner Kane who’s unbridle brutality is the reason for Cody Rhodes’ absence and a neon mute who now claims to have the ability to fly. Kingston says he expected something a little smarter from Sandow and if he wants to experience Kingston’s flying first hand he’ll be glad to show him. Foley then says his job just got simpler because the first match of the night is Kofi Kingston vs Damien Sandow.

    Superstars SPOILERS 11/15

Matt Striker and Scott Stanford are on commentary.

    (1) 3MB (Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal) beat The Usos. No sign of Drew McIntyre. Slater's hair is now wetted and he is carrying this gimmick while Mahal is just playing along. Slater won with an impaler DDT. Not a terrible tag match with both teams getting offense in. Overall, a generic Superstars tag match to build some momentum for 3MB.

    (2) Great Khali beat JTG. Khali's only defensive move of the match... and he botched it. The match was what it was. Khali hit chops and clotheslines, and well, more chops. Great to see Khali after his brain surgery, but the match was lackluster as expected.

    WWE To Release Wrestlers

    - With Linda McMahon's U.S. Senate campaign over, WWE is expected to release wrestlers from their contracts on a more regular basis. According to PWInsider.com, there are people in and out of the organization who feel officials were holding off on purging talent more frequently this year to prevent her campaign from receiving negative press since she branded herself as a job creator. It has been said that the campaign led WWE to temporarily cease cutting multiple talents in one fell swoop as it had in the past.
