What Happened After WWE Raw Tonight
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/23/2012 at 11:56 PM

Thanks to Joseph Daniel for sending in the following notes after Raw went off the air.

After the WWE Raw 1000th episode went off the air tonight, The Big Show started attacking John Cena until The Rock made the save by delivering a Rock Bottom to Big Show, then John Cena followed up with an Attitude Adjustment.

Afterwards, John Cena handed The Rock one of his armbands. The Rock then got on the mic and said Cena must be using head bands as arm bands because there is no way anyones arms are that big. Everyone including John Cena started laughing.

The Rock then hit the people's elbow, as John Cena left up the ramp. The Rock thanked the fans.

A lot of fans in attendance were upset that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was not in attendance for tonight's event. Lots of chants for him.

Punk responded to the incident on his Twitter, stating that the fan exhibited "unacceptable behavior."

"One person ruins it for everybody. Sorry y'all," Punk wrote. " This is for all the respectful fans I saw at the airport. Right on. Thanks."

Reported Fan Incident with WWE Champion CM Punk
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/23/2012 at 09:21 AM

    - There was an incident at the St. Louis airport last night as WWE talents were arriving for RAW 1000 and fans were there to greet them.

A fan reportedly asked WWE Champion CM Punk for an autograph but was turned down. Apparently the fan was rude in his approach.

This led to another fan yelling at Punk and causing a scene inside the airport. Punk threw the man's autograph book in a trash can. Airport police came over and Punk seemed very annoyed with having his time wasted, according to an eye-witness. Other WWE stars who were standing around asked fans if they knew "the fat guy", who was the fan that got his autograph book threw in the trash can.

Punk went on Twitter and wrote about how one bad fan ruins it for everyone. He gave props to respectful fans. Ricardo Rodriguez was one of the WWE talents present for the incident as he wrote that fans "go from fan mode to creepy mode to psycho mode sometimes."

WWE Monday Night RAW 1000 Supershow Results 7/23/12
    By Marc Middleton
    Jul 23, 2012 - 11:19:26 PM

    - There was no YouTube pre-show despite WWE advertising it in advance.

    - The 1,000th episode of WWE's Monday Night RAW kicks off with a new intro video. We get another video that looks back at some of the many moments from 1,000 episodes. They also show some of the sadder moments like Eddie Guerrero's tribute. The video goes on for about 4 minutes and shows a ton of clips.

    - We're live from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri as Michael Cole welcomes us to RAW 1000. He's joined by Jerry Lawler.

    - We go right to the ring and out comes Vince McMahon.

Vince comes out and thanks the fans. They throw a "thank you Vince" chant back at him. Vince welcomes us to Monday Night RAW and introduces DeGeneration X. The DX music hits and out comes Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Shawn says he needs to catch his breath from running around. Shawn says he feels like something is missing. Triple H agrees and they do some DX comedy. Triple H says there used to be more of them. The DX music hits again and they introduce X-Pac, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. They come riding in the Army tank from the WCW invasion years ago. DX reunites in the ring and the crowd pops big for it.

They do crotch chops as the X pyro goes off across the ring. Road Dogg takes the mic first and does his famous intro for The New Age Outlaws. Triple H does his intro and asks everyone if they're ready. Triple H says he will see everyone at RAW 2000 and then tells everyone to get ready to suck it. More DX comedy. They pick on Shawn for posing for Playgirl years ago. They're interrupted by Damien Sandow.

Sandow walks to the ring and Shawn says to let him talk. Sandow says this is what WWE and society at large has turned into - degenerates. Sandow runs them down some more but acknowledges that DX could beat him down and dispose of him like trash. Sandow says he won't be a victim if they do - he will be a martyr for anyone who appreciates a sophisticated mind. DX discusses this as a group as Sandow looks on. HBK connects with Sweet Chin Music and then Triple H grabs him for a Pedigree. They tell everyone to suck it again before the DX music hits and they celebrate some more. They disrobe Sandow and toss him out of the ring.

    - We get hype for The Rock's return to RAW tonight. Also still to come, Brock Lesnar answers Triple H's SummerSlam challenge. Cole and Lawler also hype AJ Lee and Daniel Bryan's wedding for tonight. They plug tonight's WWE Title main event and we go back to DX celebrating on the ramp. We go to commercial.

    - Back from the commercial and out comes Jim Ross to join Cole and Lawler on commentary.

Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Sheamus vs. Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio

We go to the ring and out comes Rey Mysterio to a big pop. Out next come his partners - Sin Cara and then the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. Out first for the other team is Chris Jericho to a nice reaction from the crowd. His partners are out next - first comes Dolph Ziggler with his Money in the Bank briefcase and Vickie Guerrero, second is Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio comes in driving a 2012 Aston Martin as Ricardo Rodriguez does the intro.

Back from a commercial and it's Ziggler with Cara in the corner. Dolph drops a big elbow and covers Cara for 2. Jericho tags in and takes Cara to the mat with a headlock. Cara fights free and rolls Jericho up for 2. Jericho with a dropkick and some trash talking to Sheamus. Jericho slams Cara and steps on him for a 1 count. Jericho tags in Del Rio to keep up the attack on Cara. Del Rio takes Cara to the corner and kicks him to the mat for a 2 count. Del Rio with knees to the back now.

Del Rio runs into a boot in the corner. Cara hits a tornado DDT from the top and both of them go down. Cara tags in Sheamus as Jericho tags in. Sheamus runs over Jericho and spears him in the corner. Sheamus with a big knee to the head. Jericho counters a move but Sheamus catches him in the backbreaker for a 2 count as Del Rio breaks it up. Mysterio comes in and takes Del Rio to the floor. Mysterio leaps from the apron and takes Del Rio out on the floor. Cara kicks Ziggler to the floor. Jericho knocks Cara to the floor. Sheamus comes at Jericho and they counter. Jericho goes for Walls of Jericho but it's blocked. Sheamus blocks the Codebreaker but Jericho ducks a Brogue Kick. Ziggler hits Jericho, his own partner, with a cheap shot. Sheamus knocks Ziggler back to the floor and waits for Jericho to get up. Sheamus flattens Jericho with a Brogue Kick for the win.

Winners: Sheamus. Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio

    - More hype for The Rock before going back to commercial.

    - Back from the break and apparently JR has left commentary. We see some Tout videos from WWE fans congratulating AJ and Daniel Bryan on their wedding.

    - Cole and Lawler talk to actor Charlie Sheen live via Skype. Apparently he will be watching the show tonight and they are going to check back in with him.

    - Cole leads us to a video looking back at Daniel Bryan proposing to AJ last week. AJ is backstage getting ready. She thinks she's having a private wedding. She's talking to Layla. Layla looks confused and asks her if she's sure about the wedding. AJ talks about WWE being unstable. She opens her dressing room door and we see Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Then we see Roddy Piper and R-Truth playing with Little Jimmy. Mae Young appears with a man dressed up like a large hand. This is her son that was born on RAW years ago. Great stuff. Layla wishes AJ good luck and walks off. Back to commercial.

    - A Sonic waitress comes down on roller skates through the crowd and gives some smoothies to Cole and Lawler.

    Jack Swagger vs. Brodus Clay

Jack Swagger is making his way to the ring. Out next comes Brodus Clay with Cameron and Naomi.

Clay takes the mic and introduces Dude Love. Out comes one of Mick Foley's alter egos. He watches from ringside as Swagger rushes Clay. Clay dodges it and suplexes Swagger. Clay nails the splash for the squash win.

    Winner: Brodus Clay

    - After the match, Dude Love gets in the ring and dances with Clay. Swagger tries to attack but he gets a tie-dyed Socko in his mouth. Love, Clay, Cameron and Naomi dance some more.

    - Trish Stratus is backstage with Triple H. She's showing him some Stratusphere Yoga moves. She has him bent over when the rest of DX walks in. They leave but Waltman sticks around with Trish to flirt with her but she resists.

    - We see Daniel Bryan backstage with some odd looking groomsmen. Let's just say they aren't dressed in tuxedos. Back to commercial.

    - Back from the break and Cole hypes tonight's WWE Title match.

    - We go to Jerry Lawler in the ring for the wedding. Lawler introduces the reverend for tonight and out comes WWE Legend Slick. Slick does a promo and out comes the groom Daniel Bryan. Bryan chants yes as he comes out in a white tux. "Here Comes the Bride" hits as AJ makes her way out looking good in a wedding dress.

Slick begins his speech about marriage and the crowd chants "what" at everything. Slick asks if anyone can show just cause on why these two shouldn't be married. The crowd boos but nobody comes out to interrupt. Slick hands Bryan the ring. Bryan admits they have had ups and downs but he says he loves AJ and always will. Bryan says a new chapter will begin for the both of them and he will finally have everything he's ever wanted. Bryan slips the ring on hr finger. Slick asks if Bryan takes AJ to be his wife and he says YES. Slick can't finish his sentence before AJ says yes. Slick goes to wed them but AJ stops him. She wasn't saying yes to Daniel, she says. She was saying yes to someone else - another man. AJ says this man proposed to her earlier tonight.

Vince McMahon's music hits and out he comes. Vince says it's not that kind of proposal. It's a business proposal. Vince introduces the new RAW General Manager - AJ Lee. AJ smiles, Bryan looks shocked and the crowd gets riled up. AJ hands Bryan the flowers back and skips around him in the ring as her music plays. AJ leaves up the ramp as Bryan gets upset in the ring. AJ chants yes from the stage while Bryan chants no in the ring. She has left him at the altar. Bryan tears apart the wedding set as we go back to commercial.

    - Back from the break and Bryan is still throwing a fit in the ring. Out comes WWE Champion CM Punk to a big pop.

Punk mocks Bryan for getting left at the altar. Punk says AJ as General Manager can't be good for Bryan's luck. Punk tells Bryan to continue throwing a fit while he continues to be the best in the world. Bryan goes off and yells that he is the greatest of all-time. He is interrupted by The Rock's music. Out comes The Rock to a huge pop.

The Rock hits the ring and the crowd chants his name. Rock says Bryan doesn't get to say who the greatest of all-time is because the fans do. More chants for The Rock. Bryan goes to cut Rock off but Rock isn't having it. The crowd chants Boots To Asses as Punk looks on from the side. The Rock points out that he first won a WWE Title in St. Louis and the crowd pops some more. Rock knocks Bryan and says he's here to talk about the WWE Champion. Rock announces that whoever the WWE Champion is at Royal Rumble will face The Rock that night with their title on the line. Punk says Rock is looking at who that man will be. Punk says he will beat John Cena tonight and if Rock wants a match at Royal Rumble, he wishes it was tomorrow. Punk says CM Punk vs. The Rock sounds good to him but he's going to win.

The Rock declares that he will be the next WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble. Bryan starts chanting no and the crowd chants yes. Bryan says this is supposed to be about him. This was supposed to be the greatest night of his life. Bryan gets in Rock's face and says someway, somehow, Rock will fight him at the Rumble. Bryan says he will be the face of WWE. Rock says Bryan is what would happen if a homeless lumberjack banged an oompa loompa. Rock wishes Punk good luck for tonight and goes back to Bryan. Rock says he got Bryan a wedding gift anyway and drops him with a Rock Bottom. Rock hits the mic one more time before leaving the ring.

    - They hype Lesnar's return and tonight's WWE Title match before going back to commercial.

    - Back from the break and Justin Roberts introduces WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart as the special ring announcer and timekeeper for the next match. Bret comes out to a big pop. - After the bell, Show unloads on Cena as Punk looks on. Show stomps away on Cena after beating him down. Show continues to beat Cena up while Punk does nothing about it. The Rock's music hits and here he comes running. Rock unloads on Big Show and takes him down with a spinebuster. Rock goes for the People's Elbow but Punk stops him with a clothesline. A bit of a mixed reaction from the crowd. Punk waits on Rock to get up and hits him with GTS. Still a mixed reaction for Punk but more boo's. Punk grabs the WWE Title and walks out of the ring as Rock tries to recover. More fans are booing Punk now. RAW goes off the air with Punk walking away with the WWE Title

What's Planned For The 1,000th RAW Event

Below are the currently-advertised and previously-announced segments for next week's 1,000th episode of RAW. This is what we know so far and we'll be updating this post throughout the weekend:

    * The show begins at 8EST and will be three-hours weekly (8-11EST) starting next week.

    * WWE Title Match: CM Punk vs. John Cena.

    * Intercontinental Title Match: Christian vs. ???

    * DX Reunion: This will open the show at 8EST.

    * Sean Waltman (X-Pac) appeared on the Cowhead show on Friday and hinted that he will be at RAW on Monday night. Waltman said, "I can't foresee a DX reunion without X-Pac." WWE has been contacting numerous former talents this week so it's possible he'll be there. He had been tweeting in recent weeks that WWE had not contacted him. All signs are now pointing to a "full" DX reunion with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and X-Pac all appearing. That is not confirmed just yet but it is looking more and more likely. Chyna will not be appearing for obvious reasons.

    * During a recent interview with The Miami Herald, Jerry Lawler was speaking abut the origin of the "puppies" line he had used for years. While doing so, he may have announced another surprise return for Monday's 1,000th RAW… "I actually got to give credit to a guy who I think will be returning on the 1,000th episode. It was a member of DX, Road Dogg (Jesse) James. I believe he was talking to Sable at the time. DX was in the ring, and Sable was in the ring, and somehow I believe Road Dogg said, ‘Hey, show us your puppies.' It kind of floated by. No big deal at that point and time, but then I started using the word a couple of weeks later, and it just stuck."

    * Brock Lesnar returns and will confirm his match with Triple H at SummerSlam. Paul Heyman will be there with Lesnar.

    * The Rock returns to WWE to address his quest for the WWE Title. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is rumored to be contemplating competing in a match or two before WrestleMania XXIX on April 7, 2013 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. An announcement could come as soon as Monday.

    * There have been rumors for months that WWE was going to be doing a big summer angle that would get people talking. There is a lot of speculation that the angle will be kicked off Monday night, likely at the end of the show. There aren't many details going around at this time, as those within the company have been keeping tight lipped.

    * Daniel Bryan and AJ will have a wedding.

    * The announcement of a new permanent RAW General Manager.

    * WWE Legends Bret Hart, Mick Foley and Roddy Piper are all confirmed to return.

    * Roddy Piper posted the following, discussing whether or not he will appear at the 1,000th RAW… "If I go to Raw's 1000th episode I'm not doing lame work. Let me roll Vince. I'll show them why Raw's the longest running show!" As noted above, Piper is confirmed for next week's show.

    * Local Advertisements in St. Louis are promoting Bret Hart to appear at Monday's 1,000th RAW. Hart was advertised a few weeks ago, but then there was no follow up. The new local ads that started to run this week pushed Hart as appearing. As noted above, Hart is confirmed for next week's show.

    * Vince and Stephanie McMahon will appear on the show. Shane McMahon is said to be a long shot and Linda McMahon probably won't happen because of her ongoing Senate campaign trying to distance her from the WWE product. There will also be the usual "2nd tier" legends appearing as well.

    * Both Stephanie McMahon and Jim Ross will be in St. Louis, Missouri next Monday, the site of that day's unprecedented 1000th RAW episode. The WWE Hall of Famer appeared Wednesday on KREF Sports Talk 1400 The Ref and confirmed he would be on the show. He added he has no idea what his role will be. McMahon, who participated in a Twitter chat Tuesday and hinted but did not confirm an appearance on Raw, will be in the area that day for a 'be a STAR' anti-bullying at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis' Herbert Hoover location (2901 N. Grand Ave.). She will be joined World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, The Miz, Eve and American Idol finalist James Durbin.

    * We can now exclusively confirm that The Undertaker will be appearing on Monday 1,000th RAW event. This will be the Phenom's first appearance since WrestleMania. His role on the show will be unclear, but he will be live at the show in St. Louis.

    Early TNA iMPACT! Rating #'s

TNA iMPACT! Wrestling drew 1.32 million viewers Thursday night. While the official rating won't be available until next Monday, the estimate is similar to last week's 0.8. The viewership is an increase from last week's two-year low of 1.11 million viewers. The show ranked #49 among cable TV shows for the night with demographic ratings remaining even with the last couple of weeks. We'll see how the show does now that the DirecTV/Viacom issues are resolved. We noted earlier today that DirectTV and Viacom have negotiated and ended their dispute. The Viacom channels that were pulled from DirectTV have been returned to service. This is obviously good news for TNA, which airs on Spike TV and took a ratings hit the last few weeks without DirectTV and their 20+ million viewers.

Dolph Ziggler 'Livid' With Sin Cara

Dolph Ziggler was reportedly livid with Sin Cara following Sunday's Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Heavyweight Championship Contract at Money in the Bank.

According to SuperLuchas.net, a source within WWE says Ziggler vocally complained backstage over the SmackDown Superstar working stiffly and failing to protect him during a high risk maneuver off the top turnbuckle known as The Spanish Fly.

The errant spot nearly injured Ziggler, not to mention spurred a dubious Twitter trending topic—"Botch Cara."

According to their source, Ziggler plans to file a formal complaint to WWE management over Sin Cara so they can review the case further and decide whether the the high-flying grappler faces punishment.

In Sin Cara's defense, footage from the pay-per-view indicates that Ziggler caused the spot to fail by slipping twice on the rope.

    *Damien Sandow def. Zack Ryder

*Kane def. Daniel Bryan by Disqualification
*Road Warrior Animal def. Heath Slater
*World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus & Rey Mysterio def. Dolph Ziggler & Alberto Del Rio by Disqualification

Rey Mysterio makes his return to Smackdown and says he was injured in this very arena, but he never lost hope that he’d be back. He says he is glad he’s in his hometown to make it official, but he couldn’t help himself on Monday night. Alberto Del Rio interrupts him and calls Rey a “little Chihuahua,” then he says he shouldn’t pick a fight with the guy who almost ended his career.
Alberto says he could finish the job now, but he’ll let him leave the ring, only Rey says he isn’t going anywhere. He says Rey’s return is going to be a short one, and it’s going to be at the expense of the next World Heavyweight Champion, which is him.

Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero come out, and Dolph says he doesn’t have to worry about that happening, because he’s here for Alberto. Dolph says he won his match and wanted to cash in Sunday, and he would be champion if it wasn’t for him. Alberto says he doesn’t work for him, and if he wanted to he could have Dolph and his burra (Vickie) both working for him. Rey tells them to shut up and fight, then Dolph says that’s a good idea but they aren’t going to be getting together.

Sheamus heads down to the ring and shakes hands with Rey, then he says it’s good to see him back. He tells Dolph he’ll shove his briefcase up his arse and throw him in the ocean if he takes another step. Sheamus says they should really do that now, then Alberto high-tails it out of there and Dolph gets dropped with a clothesline. Rey sets up for a 619 and hits the ropes, but Vickie pulls Dolph out of the way and take off up the ramp.

Eight Man Tag Team Match:Hunico, Camacho & Prime Time Playas (w/ AW) vs Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Primo & Epico (w/ Rosa Mendes)

Hunico locks up with Epico and sweeps his legs, but Epico comes back with an armbar and backs him into the corner. Hunico hits a shoulder block and runs the ropes, then he counters a monkey flip with a sidewalk slam. Primo tags in and gets a near fall after a springboard dive, then Camacho makes the tag and backs him into the corner. Camacho rams his shoulder into Primo, then he stomps him and whips him across the ring. Primo avoids a clothesline and tries to steal a rollup, then Truth blindtags in and drops Camacho with a right hand. He dances around and hits a jumping legdrop for a near fall, then Camacho powers him into the corner but Truth knocks him back.

A quick brawl erupts but ends as AW’s team is thrown out of the ring, then they regroup as we go to a commercial. When we return, Kofi is in control of Camacho, then he hits a Boom Drop and calls for Trouble In Paradise. Hunico grabs his leg to distract him and Camacho hits a spinebuster, then he stomps him in the corner and tags out. Hunico connects with a springboard senton for a near fall, then he tags Titus and he works him over in the corner before bodyslamming him. Titus slams him back on the mat for a near fall, then he puts him in an abdominal stretch and punches Kofi in the kidneys.

Young comes in and tries to attack but Kofi kicks him in the head and pulls the ropes down to sending a charging Titus out to the floor. Primo gets the hot tag and hits a springboard elbow and a legdrop, then he does a back handspring and attacks Young in the corner. Young whips him across the ring but Primo rebounds with a corkscrew dive, then Hunico and Camacho both break up a pin attempt. Truth and Kofi clear the ring and Primo knocks Young back down, but AW distracts him while Titus shoves him off the top rope and Young hits a leaping gutbuster for the win.

Winners – Hunico, Epico & Prime Time Players

Big Show comes out after the bell and AW runs off with Young and Titus, then Truth tries to attack Show as he enters. Kofi hits Show from behind with Trouble In Paradise, but Young and Titus run back over and attack him on the floor. Show takes out Hunico and Camacho before throwing Epico over the ropes, then he drops Truth with a WMD punch. He picks Hunico and Camacho up and hits a double chokeslam, then he steps on Primo’s chest and hits another WMD punch before asking for a mic. Show says “and… what” as he looks around at the wrestlers in the ring, then he drops the mic and leaves as we see a replay of what just happened.

    Damien Sandow vs Zack Ryder

Sandow screams at them to stop during Ryder’s entrance, and he says the fans are embarrassing themselves by supporting a “brainless Broski.” Zack goes after him but the ref backs him away, then he rings the bell and Zack runs towards the corner. He gets a few shots in but Sandow knocks him down, then he jumps on his leg and elbows him on the apron. Sandow elbows him again before he stomps Zack under the ropes, then he picks him up and repeatedly knees him in the corner. The ref backs him away then Sandow picks him up and hits a straight jacket neckbreaker for the win.

    Winner – Damien Sandow

Christian is in the ring for the Peep Show, and he says he’s seen a lot of strange things in WWE but this past Monday raised the bar. He replays Daniel Bryan’s proposal, then he introduces the couple and asks them how wedding planning is going. Bryan says it’s going really well, then AJ agrees and they show a clip of themselves looking for cake and flowers. Christian calls it special but wants to know if Bryan is doing the right thing, and Bryan smiles and says yes.

AJ says she has forgiven him, and Christian says it looks like true love, then they start a YES chant until Christian stops them. Christian polls the audience and they say the wedding should be stopped, and Bryan really doesn’t love AJ at all. He asks AJ if she knows what she is doing, then she slaps him in the face and Bryan tries to lead her away. Christian says he’s married so he’ll let that slide, then he calls her “bridezilla” and says Bryan shouldn’t go anywhere. He says Bryan is booked in a match, and he should worry about his fiancée’s crazy exes because he will face Kane right now.

Daniel Bryan (w/ AJ) vs Kane

Bryan kicks Kane a few times but he gets shoved away, then he goes for a few more kicks but Kane backs him into the ropes. Bryan slides under Kane but runs into a big boot, then Kane puts him in a body scissors and pulls back on his neck. Bryan elbows his way out and runs the ropes, but Kane comes back with a backbreaker then drives his knee into his back. Kane kicks him in the corner before whipping him across the ring, but Bryan runs up the turnbuckles and kicks his knee.

Kane takes a few kicks to the chest but calls for a chokeslam, then Bryan counters and kicks him in the side of the head for a two count. Bryan goes up top but Kane hits him on the way down, then he whips him into the corner and hits a side slam for a near fall. Kane heads up top for a clothesline but Bryan avoids it, then he goes for a LeBell Lock but Kane shoves him away. Kane tries to clothesline him but Bryan ducks, then Kane falls outside and AJ trips while trying to avoid him. Bryan checks on her but Kane kicks him in the head, then he throws him into the ringsteps and the barricade.

Kane picks him back up and slams his head on the broadcast table, then he rolls him inside and calls for a chokeslam. AJ climbs the turnbuckles and jumps on Kane’s back, and the referee calls for a disqualification as she starts to choke him. Bryan tries to attack him but Kane chokeslams him with AJ on his back, then AJ tries to pull Kane’s mask off. He spins her around and she looks at him lustfully, but he puts her on the ground and she slides out of the ring. Kane stares at her as she walks away with Bryan, then she asks if he is OK and makes out with him at the top of the stage.

    Winner (by disqualification) – Kane

Heath Slater vs Road Warrior Animal

After we see a replay of Heath Slater’s recent RAW history, he says all of it’s in the past because it happened on Mondays. He says his luck is about to change, and it will happen because he said so, but he looks pissed when Road Warrior Animal comes to the ring. Animal takes off his shoulder pads and surprises Slater with a clothesline, then he kicks him in the corner before backing off. Slater runs at him and attacks him, then he runs the ropes and gets powerslammed. Animal gets up and says “he’s the animal,” then he hits a leaping elbow drop for the win.

    Winner – Road Warrior Animal

Vickie Guerrero is screaming at Ricardo Rodriguez about being made fun of, and she says she is a princess and Alberto won’t be champion. She says Alberto will learn to not abandon the future world champion again, but Ricardo says they are jealous because Alberto is Mexican royalty. Vickie says she is a better manager than him, but Ricardo says he’s just a ring announcer. Vickie looks at him and screams, then he walks away as she continues to scream and get angry.

Alberto Del Rio & Dolph Ziggler (w/ Vickie Guerrero) vs Sheamus & Rey Mysterio

Dolph puts Sheamus in a waistlock but Sheamus throws him across the mat, then they lock up but Sheamus takes him down. He stands up after a side headlock and hits a shoulder block, then Dolph comes back with some strikes to the leg. Sheamus hits a rolling fireman’s carry slam and makes the tag, then Rey leaps in and hits a springboard splash for two. Rey kicks him in the back and whips him across the ring, then he hits an elbow but Dolph rebounds with a diving clothesline.

Alberto tags in and kicks Rey in the stomach, then he whips him into the ropes but Rey kicks him in the face. He goes for a tag but Alberto tries to pull him away, then Rey outsmarts him and rolls to the corner. Sheamus gets in and Alberto runs away, then Sheamus hits Dolph a few times and ties him up in the ropes. He clubs him on the apron before bringing him back in, but Alberto talks trash long enough as Sheamus gets on the apron. Dolph dropkicks him back out to the floor, then Alberto kicks Sheamus in the stomach as we go to a commercial.

Dolph has Sheamus in a headlock when we get back, then Sheamus powers up and throws Dolph back across the ring. Rey gets the tag and he hits a seated senton, then Dolph tries to roll him up but Rey kicks him in the head. Rey gets a near fall then Dolph tries to bodyslam him, but Rey counters and trips him so he lands on the middle rope. He goes for a 619 but Alberto kicks him in the back, then Dolph hits a legdrop bulldog as Sheamus runs after Alberto. Dolph screams at the ref to make a pin count, but Rey kicks out then Alberto makes a tag in.

Rey knees him in the face and runs the ropes, but Alberto counters with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for another near fall. Dolph and Alberto use quick tags to ground Rey, then he fights out of a rear choke but Dolph drops him with a neckbreaker.Rey tries to tag out but Alberto pulls him away, then he backdrops him over out to the floor and tries to reach his corner. Alberto runs in and tags Dolph, and he stops Rey from tagging out, then he sets up a powerslam but Rey counters with a tornado DDT. Sheamus finally gets the tag, and he drops Alberto with some forearm shots and some running kneelifts.

Sheamus goes for a powerslam but Alberto floats over, then he attacks Sheamus’ arm but he gets sent into the ropes. Alberto collides with Dolph and sends him to the floor, then Sheamus hits White Noise and calls for a Brogue Kick. Ricardo grabs his leg to cause a disqualification, then Alberto attacks him from behind and puts him in the Cross Armbreaker. Alberto finally lets go when referees run out and break it up, then Dolph asks for his briefcase and thinks about cashing in. He hands the briefcase to a ref, but Rey hits him from behind and connects with a 619 before Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick to end the show.

Winners (by disqualification) – Sheamus & Rey Mysterio

Viacom And DirecTV End Feud Impact Wrestling Available To DirecTV Customers Again

Just a few short hours ago DirectTV and Viacom came to an unspecified mutual agreement and ended their 10 day and 17 channel gridlock today. Financial terms of the agreement have not been made public but according to CNet, the deal is a long term commitment by both companies.

DIrectTV exec Derek Chang released the following statement:
"We are very pleased to be able to restore the channels to our customers and thank them for their unprecedented patience and support. It's unfortunate that Viacom took the channels away from customers to try to gain leverage, but in the end, it's clear our customers recognized that tactic for what it was."

The eighth live Impact of TNA’s summer series opened with a video package recapping recent events, focusing on the A.J. Styles/Claire baby drama storyline and the Aces & Eights group setting up an attack on Hulk Hogan and Sting at the end of last week’s show.

Announcers: TNA cut to Mike Tenay and Taz on-camera at the Impact Zone with no sound in the background. They recapped the attacks on Hogan and Sting, then showed a photo of Hogan in the hospital. Taz said they hope to see Hogan back in TNA soon enough, and Hogan is hot at the Aces & Eight group right now. Tenay said they do not know Sting’s condition as of right now, and neither man is here tonight.

Impact Zone: After an Open Fight Night-themed intro video played, TNA cut to the Impact Zone for full pyro and explosions. Tenay plugged the return of Open Fight Night in the Bound for Glory Series, plus Bobby Roode calling out new TNA World champion Austin Aries. Tenay broke down the BFG Series leaderboard, which will determine who gets to make the open call-outs for matches tonight.

James Storm, the BFG Series points-leader, came out first to kick things off. Tenay noted Storm has been at or near the top of the standings since the very beginning of the Series. Once in the ring, Storm flashed a smile before taking the mic to announce his opponent tonight.

James Storm, the BFG Series points-leader, came out first to kick things off. Tenay noted Storm has been at or near the top of the standings since the very beginning of the Series. Once in the ring, Storm flashed a smile before taking the mic to announce his opponent tonight. Before that, he congratulated Austin Aries on becoming new TNA champion. He then noted he’s still on the fast-track to becoming #1 contender. He hasn’t forgotten about Bobby Roode, though. Storm said he wants to be World champion to carry this company on his back. He said Roode is personal and he just wants to kick the crap out of him. (Seed planted for a potential Roode-Storm non-title grudge match independent of the Series if Storm doesn’t win.)

Storm continued that the Aces & Eights are running around like it’s the Wild Wild West, but this isn’t the WWW because he would be in charge if that were the case. Storm told them they don’t have a set of balls. He then shouted out to Hulk Hogan, telling him they hope he gets well soon. And, now, down to business. Storm said the lion in this promotion – the measuring stick in wrestling and the greatest to ever set foot inside the ring – is Kurt Angle. Cue up Angle’s theme music for a match that could headline a PPV. No sign of Angle, though. Angle’s music stopped and everything went quiet on the show. They cued up Angle’s music again, but still no sign. Storm then told someone to go get Angle. Silence in the building for this interval as a camera went backstage to find Angle. There was still this awkward silence in the building. Suddenly, TNA showed Kurt Angle face-down on the ground with Aces & Eights standing over him after putting a beat down on him. One of the members cussed, with m-f’er bleeped out. “Now Angle?” Tenay exclaimed shouted before they cut to break.

    [Commercial Break]

Announcers: Back live, Tenay and Taz were shown on-camera to react to Aces & Eights taking out Kurt Angle in the previous segment. TNA replayed the beat down on Angle “moments ago” before the announcers wondered aloud what the connection is between Hogan, Sting, and Angle. Tenay rhetorically asked who these people are and who’s behind the attacks.

[Q2] Impact Zone: Next, #2-ranked Samoa Joe came out to issue an open challenge in the BFG Series to perhaps get the in-ring action started tonight. In the ring, Joe said he chose to pick a fight tonight since he knows no one would pick a fight with him. Joe called out The Pope because he’s always had a problem with him, and vowed to tap him out. They cut backstage to show the group of BFG Series wrestlers waiting for their names to be called. Pope then emerged through the curtain to face off against Joe.

1 — SAMOA JOE vs. “THE POPE” D’ANGELO DINERO — BFG Series match

As Joe and Pope went through a feeling out process, Tenay noted TNA president Dixie Carter announced a new talent signing on Twitter earlier today. Tenay said they will have more info on the new signing later tonight, but did not mention Chavo Guerrero by name. In the ring, Pope landed a blow to the head and quickly tried to follow up with clubbing blows to take advantage. Joe then rolled out of the ring to sell a mouth injury, which brought Earl Hebner to ringside to check on Joe, who then took a boot to the head from Pope. Meanwhile, Tenay offered Annoying DirecTV Plug #1. Back in the ring, Joe tried to fight back against Pope, but Pope cut him off and slapped on a submission. Joe continued to sell a mouth injury, so Pope smashed Joe in the mouth again. Joe covered up and Pope landed multiple strikes, but left himself open for Joe to slap on an armbar. Pope tapped out, giving Joe a submission win. Post-match: Joe slipped out of the ring and continued to sell a mouth injury. In the ring, Pope sold the effects of the submission while Joe continued to act like he was in immense pain.

WINNER: Joe via submission at 3:23; Joe earned 10 points. Odd match affected by Joe selling the mouth injury, which led to a sudden finish. There were moments when the match looked like a very realistic fight with Pope trying to follow up on Joe’s mouth injury, but since that rarely occurs in wrestling, the audience was taken out of the action unsure what to make of the situation. Then again, this audience already feels like another sleeper tonight.

Backstage: Bobby Roode was shown walking down the hallway. The roving cameraman asked Roode if he had anything to do with Aces & Eights taking out Hogan last week, which drew Roode’s ire. Roode then vowed to call out Austin Aries tonight and prove Aries’s Destination X victory was a fluke.

Impact Zone: Since #3-ranked Kurt Angle is “injured,” TNA skipped to #4-ranked Jeff Hardy for the next call-out. Hardy sang along to his song before they cut to break.

    [Commercial Break]

Impact Zone: Back from break, Hardy was in the middle of the ring waiting out a “Hardy, Hardy” chant. Hardy shouted out to his creatures before welcoming them to Open Fight Night. Hardy said he has someone in mind he’s going to call out. Before that, Robbie E.’s music played. Robbie and Rob Terry made their way out as Robbie demanded his music be shut off. Robbie claimed everyone is ducking him, so he is calling Hardy out tonight. Hardy responded by telling his creatures they’re doing this, which represented an acceptance of the reverse challenge.

    [Q3]

2 — JEFF HARDY vs. ROBBIE E. (w/Rob Terry) — BFG Series match

Robbie smashed Hardy before the bell, giving him an early advantage. Robbie continued to work on Hardy, who came back with a corner boot. Robbie complained to the ref about an eye injury, which allowed Terry to yank Hardy to the outside on the outside. Robbie tried to take advantage with a pin attempt back in the ring, but Hardy kicked out. Tenay then noted Hardy has two BFG Series matches this weekend, including Hardy vs. A.J. Styles in Brooklyn.

Back to Thursday, the ref had enough of Terry trying to interfere. Hardy then took control of matters by choking Terry with his shirt. Hardy lost focus, though, and the ref applied the fastest ten count in referee history to count out Hardy and give Robbie five points. Post-match: Robbie celebrated as if he won the World Series, according to Taz. Hardy sold frustration after being duped by the Robbies.

WINNER: Robbie via count-out at 2:47; Robbie gets 5 points.

Backstage: A random man with a random arm tattoo was shown warming up backstage. Tenay said it’s Sam Shaw and he’s in Gut Check, up next.

    [Commercial Break]

Backstage: Knockouts tag champion ODB was shown screaming at “husband” Eric Young on the phone. Co-KO tag champion EY then snuck up behind ODB to wonder where’s been the last two months. EY came up with a wild story that led to him being booked on a fishing show. He said he meant to text ODB, but a shark ate his phone. EY said he can fix this, then they made out. ODB told him to go get the beer and friend chicken.

Video package: A.J. Styles/Claire/Dixie Carter/Daniels drama. The video closed with Claire telling Styles to do the right thing.

Backstage: Daniels and Kazarian were shown talking to each other. The roving cameraman asked Daniels what proof Claire has. Daniels said he doesn’t know what the evidence is, but Styles continues to deny the allegations. Daniels said Styles needs to stop being a scumbag and own up to his mistake.

Impact Zone: Jeremy Borash introduced the “chance of a lifetime” to earn a spot on the Impact Wrestling roster. JB introduced “extreme sports” afficianado Sam Shaw, hailing from Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Out came Shaw dressed in board shorts and tennis shoes. Shaw even did sort of a surfboard pose in the ring. JB then asked Shaw why he deserves a spot on the roster. Shaw unconvincly said he’s wanted to be a pro wrestler his entire life. And, finally, he gets his chance. Suddenly, the Aces & Eights hit the ring to make the save by beating down Shaw. The crowd was quiet for this beating, which was inflicted by six men from the group. TNA suddenly cut to break with Shaw still taking a beating as Tenay tried to figure out what’s going on.

    [Commercial Break]

[Q4] Impact Zone: The Gut Check judges got their TV time checking on the condition of Sam Shaw following the attack by A&E before the commercial. After a replay of the events “moments ago,” they showed Shaw being helped out of the ring by medics and Bruce Prichard, Al Snow, and Taz. Shaw sold internal injuries as he was slowly dragged to the back. Tenay noted there’s no authority figure tonight, so A&E have turned TNA upside down.

Impact Zone: #5-ranked Mr. Anderson came out for the next OFN call-out as Taz re-joined Tenay on commentary. The announcers tried to connect the dots on A&E’s beat downs before Anderson took the mic to discuss d-bags. Anderson said he called out one of the biggest d-bags this company has to offer, Christopher Daniels. Tonight, though, he wants to face a guy he respects and calls a friend. He then called out A.J. Styles to take 7 points from him.

3 — MR. ANDERSON vs. A.J. STYLES — BFG Series match

Once the bell sounded, the awkward silence in the building returned. The fans tried to create some noise as Styles and Anderson felt each other out in the ring. The announcers re-visited A&E taking advantage of no authority figures at Impact tonight, with Tenay noting Dixie Carter isn’t even in the building since she’s in New York for meetings with Spike TV. Anderson and Styles traded control before TNA cut to break at 3:10.

    [Commercial Break]

Back live, Anderson was working a headlock on Styles. Styles then came back with his signature leapfrog, dropdown, dropkick for a two count. Meanwhile, Tenay offered Annoying DirecTV Plug #2.

[Q5 -- second hour] Styles and Anderson traded control again as Tenay plugged more BFG Series matches this weekend. Anderson then slowed things down with a cravate trying to work on Styles’s neck. Styles broke free, then scoopslammed Anderson, but Anderson rolled through into another cravate. Styles broke free again, then tried a corner move, but Anderson blocked and re-applied the cravate. After breaking free again, Styles nailed a springboard forearm smash for a two count. Tenay noted the 15-minute time limit as they hit 11:20 in the match.

Styles tried to finish the mathc with the Clash, but Anderson countered. Styles then ran right into Anderson, who dropped him with his rolling sentaun for a close two count. Anderson tried to follow with a Mic Check, but Styles slipped out and nailed a kick to the head. Styles then went to the corner to finish off Anderson, but Anderson blocked Styles. They fought up-top as they reached 13:00. Anderson then nailed a big superplex that nearly flipped Styles onto his stomach. Anderson made a cover, but Styles kicked out just in time. Styles tried to come back with the Clash, but Anderson blocked, then sort of flipped Styles onto his stomach and leverage-pinned Styles for a three count.

WINNER: Anderson at 13:38; Anderson gets 7 points. A bit off at times with the duo not having the best chemistry in the ring, but a strong finish.

Post-match: Anderson brought in Styles for a handshake as Styles sold frustration with the loss. Suddenly, Claire’s voice was heard in the building. Claire stomped out to ringside waving papers in the air and demanding Styles come talk to her. Claire said she’s been calling Styles all week, but he won’t return her calls. Claire then told Styles that since he doesn’t seem to remember anything, let her refresh his memory. Claire claimed they had some drinks and ended up having a hot night in her hotel room. Claire then pulled out some photos showing a passed-out, drunk Styles in bed with Claire smugly taking a photo lying on Styles’s chest. Claire focused on the tattoos along Styles’s side to claim it’s very real. Styles acted stunned by this revelation. She uncouthly claimed it went all night. Claire slammed the photos on Styles’s chest, then walked off. And, Styles being set-up continues into more ridiculousness territory.

    [Commercial Break]

Moments Ago: Claire flashed some photos at Styles claiming they had a passionate night together. … Backstage: Styles was shown reviewing the pictures with a look of concern on his face. On commentary, Taz said it’s really tough to deny the allegations at this point.

Impact Zone: Bellator commentator Sean Wheelock joined Tenay and Taz on commentary for the next match, which started with Rob Van Dam making his way to the ring for the next OFN Challenge. In the ring, RVD said he’s just tickled pink to be here and take part in OFN because he feels like fighting. And, there’s no one he would rather kick the crap out of more than that “fallen scumbag, Christopher Daniels.” Backstage, Bully Ray was shown trying to take Daniels’s martini as he made his way to the curtain. Daniels ripped it away, though, and made his way to the ring with martini in-hand.

    [Q6]

4 — ROB VAN DAM vs. TNA tag champion CHRISTOPHER DANIELS — BFG Series match

RVD went right after Daniels’s mid-section with a kick strike as Tenay and Wheelock talked Kansas City wrestling history. Wheelock also joked that he hopes Aces & Eights doesn’t show up at their Bellator event tomorrow night in Florida. In the ring, RVD went for a leg submission, but Daniels grabbed the bottom rope for a break. The match moved to the floor, where Daniels choked RVD with his shirt before running him back into the ring for a slingshot elbow drop that resulted in a two count. Daniels dropped a knee, then bowed for the crowd before applying another submission.

RVD fought to his feet and the two men traded bombs, with RVD’s punches missing Daniels. RVD went the more conventional RVD route with a corner monkey flip before hopping up top, where he missed with a frogsplash. RVD landed on his feet, though, and went for Rolling Thunder, but Daniels moved out of the way. Daniels then rolled up RVD and used the ropes for leverage to score a cheap win. Wheelock noted the ref missed that as Taz called it highway robbery.

WINNER: Daniels at 4:43; Daniels earns 7 points.

Backstage: The roving camerman caught up with new TNA World Hvt. champion Austin Aries appearing on the show for the first time tonight. Aries referred to Roode’s “fluke” label, then called Roode’s entire title run a “fluke.” Aries said he’s right here waiting to be called out by Roode tonight. He noted everything about him trumps Roode, too. Aries then picked up playing cards that were placed near his wrestling gear. He noted he trumps Aces & Eights, too.

    [Commercial Break]

Announcers: Tenay and Taz were shown on-camera to bring in Brooke Hogan via phone to discuss Hulk Hogan’s condition. Brooke said Hulk was heavily sedated and has undergone multiple surgeries. She said she doesn’t want to talk too much about it. She thanked them for their thoughts and prayers.

Last Thursday: Bully Ray beat Joseph Parkl before Park “suddenly” busted out a Black Hole Slam.

Backstage: Park was shown talking to Garett Bischoff about his legal services, which is important when the last name is Bischoff. Garett thanked him for the offer, but wanted to know what happened last week. Park said he was so proud of himself for standing up to Ray even if he wound up on the short end of the stick. Garett ignored that, saying hthere was someone else in there last night. “It was me, Joseph Park,” he said, before noting Bischoff needs to consider his legal services.

Announcers: Tenay and Taz noted there are only two wrestlers left on Open Fight Night. … Backstage: Bully Ray was shown telling Magnus to go call him out in the ring since they’re the last two.

Impact Zone: Magnus slowly made his way to the ring, which allowed Bully to sneak up behind Magnus and jump him from behind. Bully, still sporting a cap, inflicted a ringside beating on Magnus. Magnus had enough and knocked Ray into the barricade before rolling him into the ring to officially start the match.

    [Q7]

5 — BULLY RAY vs. MAGNUS — BFG Series match

Ray regained control of the fight once the bell sounded to officially begin the match. Tenay received word that Sam Shaw will receive another Gut Check opportunity next week on Impact. Bully woke up the crowd with a giant open-hand slap to Magnus’s chest, then he paraded around the ring to gloat about it. Ray proceeded to spit into the air before missing with a big splash. Magnus and Ray then traded right hand bombs, repeating the RVD-Daniels spot just one match ago. Ray won the exchange with a giant clothesline, but missed with a corner attack. Magnus then applied an old-school Texas Cloverleaf center-ring. Ray screamed in pain as the crowd encouraged him to tap out, but Ray grabbed the bottom rope for a break. Magnus followed with a suplex, but Ray kicked out in time. That was Magnus’s last gasp, as Ray came back with a cutter for the pin and the win. Post-match: Ray flexed the calves to ensure everything was in-place.

WINNER: Ray at 4:44; Ray earns 7 points. Magnus was right up there with Hardy as most popular star of the evening, which says something when TNA has done nothing with Magnus’s character since the Tag Title run with Joe.

Announcers: Tenay and Taz recapped the BFG Series Standings, noting Samoa Joe is #1 after flip-flopping with Storm, who apparently will not get the match against Kurt Angle tonight.

Video package: Chavo Guerrero is coming to TNA. The video announced Chavo will debut on Impact next week. Back live, Tenay excitedly hyped Chavo’s debut next week.

Impact Zone: Bobby Roode’s music played to bring out the former World Hvt. champion dressed in his wrestling robe. Tenay noted Roode thinks his loss to Aries at Destination X was just a fluke. On-stage, Roode took the mic and said there is one word to describe recent events: “fluke.” Roode called out Aries, then his music played again.

    [Commercial Break]

Impact Zone: Roode was in the ring back from break. He told Aries to get out to the ring right now. Out came the new World champion ready to prove Roode wrong. And, the bell quickly rang to start the default main event that wasn’t hyped like a main event.

    [Q8]

6 — TNA World Hvt. champion AUSTIN ARIES vs. BOBBY ROODE — non-title match

Aries delivered an armdrag, then paintbrushed Roode across the head to taunt him before teasing the Last Chancery. Roode easily escaped, then teased his own Cross-face submission finisher. Suddenly, the crowd started a random chant that sounded like “We want pizza.” Or, something along those lines. Aries then dropkicked Roode to the outside before delivering a running forearm smash. Aries stood tall ringside as Tenay sent the show to commercial 2:30 in.

[Commercial Break. Spoke cut back to show ten seconds of the match occurring during the break.]

Back from break for real, Roode was in control of the match. Roode targeted Aries’s lower back, drawing gasps from Aries with each breath. Meanwhile, the announcers continued to speculate that Roode must have some connection to Aces & Eights, with Tenay being produced to jump to conclusions as usual. Roode continued the attack on Aries’s lower back, delivering a spinebuster for a two count. Roode paid tribute to Ric Flair by backing up to the corner, measuring Aries, and then delivering a knee to the face, which resulted in a nearfall.

At 9:00, Roode continued the attack with a kick to the gut before doing the belt-around-the-waist motion. Tenay noted Aries vs. Roode for the Title will occur at Hardcore Justice, which currently has just the Aries-Roode match. Aries teased a comeback, but Roode yanked Aries to the mat to apply an armbar. Aries escaped into the Last Chancery, which prompted the crowd to encourage Roode to tap out. Roode opted to escape via eye rake, though. Roode then hit a spear for a two count.

The action moved up top, where Aries chopped Roode to the mat before delivering a missile dropkick. He tried to follow with the Brainbuster, but Roode reversed into the cross-face. Aries escaped, then landed a discus forearm. Aries followed by tossing Roode over the top rope to the floor before delivering a flying suicide dive into the barricade. Suddenly, the Aces & Eights group hit the ringside area to attack Aries, which caused the ref to throw out the match.

WINNER: No Contest at 13:30. As expected, this turned into an angle to save a decisive result for the PPV. It also explains why TNA did not go all out hyping the main event since there wouldn’t be a result.

Post-match: A&E tossed Aries, then Roode into the ring and beat down Aries while Roode sat back and watched. A&E gathered in a circle to stare at Roode, who applauded their efforts. Roode thought they were on the same team and extended his hand, but the Fat One kicked Roode in the gut, then beat down Roode, which generated cheers since the heel got his, but it was at the hands of a group of heels the audience is supposed to be fearful of. The thugs went back to a first-day-of-wrestling-school-level punches and kicks on both men, with some of the six men kind of standing around. TNA signed off with the announcers selling more confusion than at the top of the show

Zema Ion Interview: Talks X-Division, Jesse Sorensen, Who He Would Want To See In TNA And More

Zema Ion Interview: Talks X-Division, Jesse Sorensen, Who He Would Want To See In TNA And More

Zema Ion recently spoke with Live Audio Wrestling On his time in TNA, New wrestlers in the X-division and more.

On TNA bringing In New X Division Wrestlers:
"I think the X Division has needed some fresh new talent for a while, and it seems like they got a lot of guys coming in and getting opportunities. It's great for all of them and it's great for the fans too because they're the real winners at the end of the day. The X Division is a very exciting, innovative, fast paced style of wrestling. To be able to bring in some fresh faces who are hungry and willing to put it all on the line for an opportunity on live television - I think that's a great thing, and hopefully there will be more X Division stuff in the future."

On Jesse Sorensen, his injury and future match
"Destination X was the first time he and I have crossed paths since that night in February. I think Sorensen is aiming to come back, and obviously I see the opportunity for a big feud there. I would love the opportunity and I'm sure he would too. I give him credit for recovering at the pace that he's recovering right now. It's crazy to see him walking to the ring, you know. It seems like he's going to make a 100% full recovery. That was a freak thing. I wasn't going to dwell on it. I continued doing the moonsault after that just to show that it's not that I can't do this move, because I've done this move a hundred million times. I continue to do it today to prove that point; I'm not gun-shy or afraid to do so."

On some of the wrestlers he would like to see brought into the X Division:
"There's so much talent out there. There's a guy in AAA right now named Fenix, who I think is just phenomenal. I worked with him in Mexico and he's probably one of the best high flyers in the world and criminally underrated, so I think he's somebody who definitely deserves an opportunity. There's a South African wrestler named Angelico, who I think could really make some waves in the X Division if given the opportunity. So those guys immediately come to mind. As far as the United States goes, there are so many guys like Ricochet and Samurai Del Sol. I think they would be real assets to the X Division."

On the positive reception to the TNA product in recent months:
"It motivates us even more to want to go out there and steal the show and tear the house down, knowing that there's positive feedback and people are enjoying what they're seeing. It just makes us want to work harder to keep the momentum going. The morale is high, everybody is excited and the opportunities are endless right now.
