TNA Wrestler Tony Nese wrote the following on his twitter account announcing he has requested his release from TNA:
"I wanted to be the first to inform everyone that I have requested my release from TNA Wrestling. As a professional wrestler I have many goals and dreams that I work hard to achieve, one of them was to have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience on national television and I thank TNA Wrestling for providing me with that opportunity. Another goal of mine is to wrestle against some of the top international superstars with the chances to travel the world and work for some of the best international companies that have the best talent in wrestling today.
I have recently been approached with an opportunity to step in the ring with The Great Muta, a wrestling legend, and one of All Japan Pro Wrestling's top wrestlers Kai. This is an opportunity that I feel with help me further my goals and career. This event will be provided via IPPV and unfortunately my TNA contract did not allow me to perform on such events. I requested that an exception would be granted given my lack of appearances but was denied. My next action was to request a release as I think it will be in my best interest.
I would like to thank TNA Wrestling for helping me achieve one of my goals as it is very few in this business that are able to say they have. I would also like to thank all the people that support me as this is just a small chapter coming to an end in my career and I have many more exciting opportunities in my future to come. - Anthony Nese"
According to JP Nichols' Twitter, former Ring Ka King wrestler Joey Ryan received a TNA tryout in a match against current TNA X Division champion Austin Aries.
- As noted before, Mark Henry is going in for surgery today. While this isn't confirmed, word going around is that he's having surgery for the groin injury that he suffered a while back.
Henry said in the past that if he couldn't come back 100% from the injury, he would retire. There was talk before WrestleMania this year that Henry could be coming up on the end of his career.
Konnan Reveals Details On Mysterio's Suspension Posted by Andy Steven on 05/14/2012 at 11:19 PM
On this week's edition of MLW's Konnan Show, Konnan spoke about Rey Mysterio's recent suspension for violating WWE's wellness policy:
"Rey Mysterio, I can guarantee you categorically, he doesn't do any drugs. He's a guy that really lives up to his role model image. He's got two little kids that he really wants to be an example for. He's even told me, 'Dude, please do not come to my house high.' He really wants to be a good role model. He's not on the juice or anything.
What can Rey really be on? It can't be the juice and he definitely doesn't do any hard drugs. He was taking a dietary supplement because he has a problem with his love handles. It was something that would burn fat and I think just like anything that's fat burning it probably had some sort of amphetamine in it. So that's where we're at right now. He's actually still going back and forth with WWE on that.
It kind of pisses me off because they know who is on what and they've given other guys passes. I won't get into names or details because Rey will catch heat, but this is my opinion. They know he's not on anything."
Konnan also revealed that WWE plans to extend the expiration date of Mysterio's contract to make up for time lost due to injury. MLW's Konnan Show with Konnan is available on MLW.com, iTunes and syndicated by Stitcher.com.
Raw kicks off with the COO Triple H arm brace and all. John Laurinaitis tells HHH that he was sympathetic towards HHH saying and had no idea Brock Lesnar would react the way he did. He says he's going to say what he has to in the ring. He tells Johnny good luck with John Cena at Over the Limit.
HHH comes out. Recap of Lesnar breaking HHH's arm two weeks ago.
HHH says he's had worse done to him, he was offended about Lesnar saying he was bringing back legitimacy, he references his WrestleMania match saying was this not legitimate enough?
He says he's embarrassed about buying into the Lesnar hype. Goes back to 2002 about when he first saw Lesnar with all his natural talent and ability, when he was challenged he left and quit, says he went to the UFC with that talent and shot to the top and as soon as he got beat up a little, he quit.
Paul Heyman comes out. He gets it, he understands! Heyman says HHH is doing damage control, it's what every big promoter does after they lose their biggest star. Heyman says HHH is guilty of breach of contract.
"You bring a fighter into a an entertainment company and you get mad when he wants to fight?"
Lesnar is suing HHH for the millions of dollars he owes him.
Lesnar expected so much more than him he expected a fight. He's glad his left arm is broken, because he's going to sign over those millions of dollars with his right. Heyman rips into HHH to which HHH puts his hands on Heyman. Heyman says what are you doing? HHH says Lesnar is going to get exactly what he deserves. Heyman says there is going to be lawsuit #2 for putting his hands on him.
Big Show MUST apologize to Johnny Ace tonight or else he will be fired.
WWE Champion CM Punk makes his way to the ring. Recap of Lord Tensai beating CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan beating on Punk last week. I wish there was more of a build up between two for their pay-per-view matchup this Sunday.
1. WWE Champion CM Punk and United States Champion Santino Marella def. No. one contender Daniel Bryan and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. Punk pinned Rhodes with a GTS. Some babyface combo that is.
Rhodes and Punk start off...Bryan isn't trying to mix it up with Punk just yet. Rhodes gets thrown to the outside Bryan tries to sneak attack gets thrown over the top onto Cody.
Daniel Bryan delivers a plethora of YES kicks and knees to Santino. Punk gets the hot tag, knee'ed to the corner, hits a GTS on COdy for the win, while D Bryan walks away.
Layla vs Beth at Over The Limiit is announced..Wait wasn't that last week? Eh, I don't know. My english muffin Layla is atop of the ramp, while Beth scores the win.
2. WWE Divas: Beth Phoenix destroyed Alicia Fox
Layla attacks Beth after the match to save Alicia from a further whoopin'. Gotta open your eyes and see your not enough for me....Yes, I love Layla.
Recap of Johnny Ace being a star and bullying the Big Show..Big Show and Kane for tonight is being promoted more than Bryan and Punk.
Zack Ryder vs Kane is announced for the Over The Limit preshow, Sunday night at 7:30pm/ET.
3. Kane def. Big Show via John Laurinaitis distraction.
Johnny Ace and the returning Dave Otunga is out at ringside Big Show and Kane have a Big Show and Kane match.
Johnny distracts show and allows for Kane to get the win. Johnny tells Show he has to apologize to him for making fun of his voice. Big show says he's been living his dream and he can walk away without and regrets. Big Show loves what he does and starts cutting an emotional promo.
Big Show apologizes to Johnny Ace.. I's not enough however he wants Big Show to beg for it. Big Show is like ohhh man I don't want to do this!
*Note: I'm watching this Raw with three other girls and were quick to note ridiculousness of giant man baby being broken to tears in the ring by a goof like Johnny Ace. Johnny Ace says he's going to do what is right for business. He is going to reconsider. He goes up to the entrance and is about fire big show, Big Show says please wait! Um then he apologizes and crying...Johnny fires him. Pretty embarrassing segment to say the least. I had to explain why Johnny Ace was making Big Show cry.
4. Brodus Clay, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston (w/ Naomi and Cameron) def. Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, The Miz (w/ Vickie Guerrero). Brodus pinned Miz. Poor Miz.
The girls are favoring The Miz in this one. Brodus cleans house, and sends Miz to the outside. Cut to break.
Back from break Ziggler has R-Truth in a modified side headlock. Shot of AW (Abraham Washington), Rosa Mendes, Epico, Primo, and Mason Ryan watching from the box office. ACTION ACTION ACTION WHOOOOAA CHUCK DUCKY QUACK QUACK
Somebody call my momma Brodus with a funkadelic squash on Miz for the win!
5. Chris Jericho def. Randy Orton via disqualification after World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus attackted Jericho.
Sheamus defends his title against Orton, Jericho, and Alberto Del Rio in a random fatal four way match at Over The Limit.
Alex Riley is talking to CM Punk in what will be the most raw time he'll see in months. He apparently owes Punk $50 bucks. The sultry AJ Lee appears. Riley runs away. AJ wanted to say good luck at OTL. Punk says yo' relationship with Bryan is unstable see and he wants to stay out of their drama.
Sheamus comes out for guest commentary. Jericho vs Randy Orton Great back and forth with Jericho and Randy Orton. Cut to Break. Jericho has Randy in a modified side headlock. Cole says Sheamus is behind the 8 ball on Jericho and Orton as he has fallen to both of them. Lionsault attempt on Orton but he gets his knees up in time, he regains control of Jericho. Apron DDT attempt but Jericho throws orton over the top, he throws Orton on to Sheamus on the outside. they go back in the ring, Orton is coiled up for an RKO, but it's stopped by Sheamus who attacks Jericho. Orton is pissed at Sheamus he tells to get in the ring and fight like a man, and they do so. The referees break up this soon to be brawl.
Johnny Ace has something to announce about scene NEXT.
6. John Cena and Laurinaitis confront each other in the ring.
Johnny calls out Cena he calls him a loser and says it's okay if you're a loser John! Cena comes out. Cena calls him a scumbag, the undisputed king of Douchebaggery at that after firing the Big Show. Cena runs down his list of crowning failures such (trying to get rid of Punk as WWE Champion, Lesnar signing). Cena says that makes him a loser then does a dragged out horrible Jim Carrey impression.
Despite this shaky promo Cena has the crowd responding nicely, A Daniel Bryan "YES" chant breaks out! Cena is is an artisan when it comes to cheap pops. Johnny Ace says he was going to reference the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier in his promo and that Cena is stilling his stuff. Then they start talking about how each one of another was going to reference the Penguins...Cena continues to pretend he's Ace Ventura. Johnny Ace calls the Penguins losers and and Cena tells Johnny Ace to go puck himself.
Johnny Ace says he's Big Johnny cause he's in charge and is taller than Cena. Eve Torres comes down and elivers a memo from the infamous Board of Directors. Cena takes it and says it's going to be a fair one on one match. Anyone who interferes in the match will be fired. If Johnny Ace himself acts unfairly he will be terminated on the spot. Cena wants to know what Big Johnnys big announcement was. Johhny delivers and ACE slap on Cena. and walks away.
