Brodus Clay Talks About Being Frustrated Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/23/2012 at 09:26 AM
- You may remember Brodus Clay disappearing from WWE TV for several weeks back at the end of January. Clay wrestled Alex Riley on the January 27th RAW, Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble and then Tyler Reks on the January 30th RAW. He then was taken off WWE TV until March 12th, only working dark matches.
In the new issue of WWE Magazine, Clay talked about feeling frustrated with his dance choreography being off and a conversation he had with Triple H after the match against Riley:
"One night, I came backstage after a match against Alex Riley and I was so upset. Triple H said, 'What's the matter?' and I explained that the choreography was off. He's staring and me and I'm like, 'Wait. Am I upset over the choreography?' He said, 'Yeah, you are.' I didn't know how to feel about that. But, I'm always worried about the dancing - that I'll fall."

TNA Wrestlers Daniels and Kazarian Talk Tag Team, Comics, Kaz Donates Hair To Charity
TNA Wrestlers Daniels and Kazarian recently spoke with The Roman Show concerning their tour stop in Fort Lauderdale Florida, wrestling as a tag team, their longtime friendship, comics and more.
On Kaz breaking into the business and meeting Mike Tenay: It was the summer of 1997 in San Diego at an autograph signing. I got a chance to speak with Mike Tenay, I was just about to get into the wrestling business. I got free tickets to the signing and to a taping for the following week, we got a chance to talk. I decided I was going to Killer Kowalski's wrestling school. So basically i was like a sponge soaking up information. Picking peoples brains, who elses brain to pick than the professor Mike Tenay. So we chatted and i he gave me the wrap about the business. We had a few things in common, where we came from. I closed with 'Hopefully you can call one of my matches one day'. When i saw Mike again, he remembered it and so it was kind of cool. It's always something we talk about now.
Kaz donating his hair to charity: It is what it is. It is a haircut, nothing more, nothing less. Pro wrestling and entertainment itself is all about reinventing itself. You look fresh and everything. I am still heavy metal. It is easier to manage. As a fighter, its one less thing that gets in the way in the heat of battle.
Daniels on his fondness for comics: I am a comic book geek, I have been collecting comic books for almost 20 years now. I am a big Marvel fan, big Wolverine and Avengers fan.
Daniels on his friendship with Kazarian: Frankie and I have been friends since 1996. We've known each other, we've wrestled each other, we've wrestled as a team together, we know the ins and outs of that ring, we finish each-others sentences. It's like we are a married couple except we are both heterosexual and handsome. There's no doubt in my mind and no doubt in his mind that we will be the next world tag team champions.

Kelly Kelly Talks Getting Hit with Singapore Cane Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/20/2012 at 09:10 AM
Speaking to WWE Magazine, Kelly Kelly discussed her WWE rookie year in 2006 and recalled an angle where Sandman struck her on the head with a Singapore Cane.
"I remember I took a hit one time from Sandman, and I don't think a girl has ever taken that kind of shot before in WWE," she says. "And, holy moly, I saw stars and I wanted to cry. He hit me right on top of the head. Mike Knox even hit his finisher on me. Come to think of it, when I signed up, I had some pretty brutal things done to me. I definitely was fearless back then."
The complete interview is featured in the May 2012 issue.
WWE will announce today that Alberto Del Rio and his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez have officially been moved over to the SmackDown brand. Del Rio has earned a World Heavyweight Title shot against Sheamus and has been touring with the blue brand overseas for the past two weeks.
Velvet
Sky Interview: Talks The Beautiful People, Knockouts Roster And More
TNA Knockout Velvet Sky was interviewed by
The Miami Herald. Here is a quick recap:
On the breakup
of the beautiful people: For a while it was me and
Angelina [Love in the Beautiful People].I was never able to shine really and do
anything on my own because she was always in the spotlight. Since then, theyve
broken up the Beautiful People, which Im sad about because I wish they were
still going forward with that. We had a lot of fun, her and I together, but I
just feel like they broke us up, and I was able to be on my own as a singles
competitor.
I just feel I have grown in the sense of
you dont have someone to have your back all the time. You dont have the option
to tag out and recuperate. I feel, more or less, being a singles competitor
instead of in a tag team has helped me branch out and come into my own as a
performer.
On The early days Of the TNA
Knockouts: That was probably my favorite locker room
of Knockouts. I mean the girls who we have now, of course I absolutely love all
of them, but we had a special bond because we were all starting from the
beginning in a new company where we didnt know what to expect. It was kind of
like we were learning and exploring new things together. It has changed
drastically from the Knockouts division of 2007 to where it is now. Its still going strong, and we have a great group of girls, but it
will never be the bond it was with the first ever Knockouts on the roster in
2007. It was brand new to everybody, and everybody was learning together. To
this day, we just keep getting more and more girls coming to the roster. Im
grateful and appreciative for every girl we have here because they all work
really hard.
Differences between the knockouts and other
women in pro wrestling:
There are matches [elsewhere] where the girls
will wrestle for three minutes or so and go to the back. They dont say a word,
and you really dont know who is who. Here [TNA] we are so grateful we get the
chance to be able to come into our own, have time to talk and have our
characters develop. I just feel like that has us connected with the fans
more.
The female wrestler she would most like to
have a match against:
I would absolutely love to work
with Amy Dumas one day, the wrestler formally known as Lita. She is the whole
reason I wanted to get into this business. I have always been a fan of wrestling
here and there, but when I saw her for the first time, I was just so blown away
by her look and athletic ability and how she connected to the crowd, whether it
was male or female. I try to pattern myself after her. I
dont do the high-flying maneuvers, staying on the ground, but she is the whole
reason I wanted to get into this business and got into wrestling. If she were to
come here, I think that would be awesome. I would love to work with her one
day.
Memorable fan moment: It was at a house show last year. Sometimes they will have me do
pictures with fans, and the pictures get printed right there before the show
starts. The next fan in line, she was what looked to be a female, and she came
up to me. When she opened her mouth, I kind of questioned if she was a female,
but I thought that wasnt right. So we are getting ready to take a picture and
at the last second before the flash, as I was looking at the camera smiling, she
looks at me sticking her tongue out on my chin and left it there. I thought
about what was going on here, but we did another one. The second time we did it
she kind of did the same thing, but left it there a little bit longer. It was
really kind of gross, but I come to find out she was a post-op he. You had to be
there with everyone staring there sort of laughing and trying to figure out what
was going on. Then I had a big drool stain after.
TNA Impact Wrestling Results April 19, 2012 from Orlando, FL
* The show kicks off with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode coming out. He he's sporting a new, short hairstyle. Roode started off with some basic gloating. Roode talked about all of his wins, until he was interrupted by Mr. Anderson.
Anderson says he doesn't need a beer bottle to win. Roode tells Anderson to get back in line. Jeff Hardy then came out and limped to the ring. Hardy also wants a World Title shot. Anderson pointed out that he was there first, it should be his title shot. Roode moderated some bickering as refs came out to keep things cool.
This brought Hulk Hogan to the screen. Hogan said that he wants all the champions in the ring later, and announced a number one contender's match between Hardy and Anderson for later in the night.
(1) Bully Ray & Crimson defeated Matt Morgan & X Division champion Austin Aries. Ray picked up the win for his team with a roll-up and handful of tights on Aries.
* Garett came out out with AJ Styles, Mr. Anderson, and RVD to celebrate their victory in the Lethal Lockdown match at the PPV. AJ complimented Garett on his balls at Lockdown, but their celebration is interrupted by Ric Flair. From the top of the ramp Flair claims that Eric is responsible for all the talent in the ring. He called Garett a punk before calling all of them punks. Flair promised a party next week as a tribute to Eric Bischoff. He's hosting it, and he's drinking at it, and the four in the ring are not invited. AJ and Anderson sell broken up.
* Backstage, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian held a piece of paper that contains the dirt they have on Styles.
(2) Kurt Angle defeated AJ Styles. Christopher Daniels and Kaz came out. Daniels had a piece of paper and encouraged Kurt to get AJ, but Kurt seemed annoyed and surprised they came out. Daniels hopped up on the apron and distracted the referee. AJ then grabbed the paper as Angle rolled him up for the win. After the match, Angle told AJ he had nothing to do with Daniels and Kaz as AJ put the paper in his tights.
* Backstage, Joseph Park ran into Gunner. Gunner tried to take off, but park informed him that there was a lawsuit pending against him. Gunner again denied knowledge of Abyss's whereabouts and he told Park to talk to Bully Ray.
* Backstage, Hulk Hogan told Rob Van Dam he's been added to the #1 contender's match later tonight.
* All of the TNA Champions (minus ODB & Eric Young) came out for their in-ring meeting with Hulk Hogan: Tag Champs Samoa Joe and Magnus, Knockouts Champ Gail Kim, TV Champ Devon, X Division Champ Austin Aries and World Champ Bobby Roode.
After Hogan came out, he announced that change is in the air, and starting next week change is coming. Once a month, Impact will be called "Open Fight Night." Basically, a talent from outside TNA will show up to have a match. There will be three judges and Hogan himself will decide if the person gets a contract or not. On open fight night, anyone can come to the ring and make a challenge, and whoever the person challenges must come to the ring to fight. Roode is pissed. Hogan told them that any champion must be ready to fight. Gail asked who decides this. Hogan decides. Hogan said he wants to hear who the fans want to see.
Devon promised to be a fighting champ. Hogan announced that from now on, the TV Title will be defended every single week. Devon was happy with the announcement. Hogan closed the segment with a statement that on Open Fight Night, everyone fights. Roode looked dismayed.
(3) Miss Tessmacher, Tara, Mickie James and Velvet Sky defeated Gail Kim, Madison Rayne, Sarita and Rosita in a 8-woman tag match. Tessmacher rolled up Gail Kim for the win.
* ODB and Eric Young were shown sunbathing by a pool with their Knockout Tag titles. A Guy walked up and Young got jealous, so he took his pants off.
(4) TV Champion Devon defeated Gunner to retain the TV Title. Devon hit a spinebuster to pick up the win.
* James Storm came out. He thanked everyone and said sorry to the crowd for losing at Lockdown. Storm talked about tucking his daughter into bed and having to tell her that he lost at the PPV. He said that Roode didn't beat him, but that he beat himself. Storm then cited the crowd for his inspiration, and thanked his dad up in Heaven, who was looking down on him, and he knows is dad is proud of him. Storm said maybe his luck has run out and he left.
(5) Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson in a three-way match to become the new number one contender to the TNA World Title. Hardy nailed Anderson with a Swanton Bomb. RVD went for the big splash on Anderson, Hardy then went for the Twist of Fate, RVD reversed it and scored the pin.
Jericho Reveals Real Reason for WWE Return Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/19/2012 at 02:14 PM
The latest issue of WWE Magazine features an interview with Chris Jericho, who talks about his current WWE run, when he plans to leave again, his fued with CM Punk and much more.
Jericho said before CM Punk started "ripping him off", he had no intention of coming back to WWE and was happy with what he was doing. "But when I saw C.M. Punk performing all of my stuff, it inspired me to return and remind everyone just what's going on."
Regarding his rumored departure from WWE this summer, Jericho said he might leave and come back again. "I outclass everyone in the company. It'll be the end when I decide it's the end. I might leave and then come back. Listen: When you get to this level, you don't have to play by the rules anymore. When I can't compete at a top level anymore, then I won't come back."
Jericho said he would consider working a schedule similar to the Undertaker's, where he'd be presented as a "special attraction" and could come and go as he pleases.
He also said he recently changed his whole training regime and diet, but did not mention DDP Yoga specifically. "I made a lot of overall changes, lost a lot of weight. And when you're physically sharper, that makes you mentally sharper as well."
Jericho Busted Open Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/19/2012 at 08:35 AM
- Chris Jericho apparently had to get 3 staples in his head after Wednesday's RAW live event in Milan, Italy. Jericho and WWE Champion CM Punk have been working No DQ matches overseas since Jericho joined the tour. He wrote:
"Thanks to @cmpunk I now have 3 staples in the back of my head. Wait until tomorrow in Toulouse, France Punk. I will exact my revenge..."
Crimson
Interview: Discusses The Winning Streak, His Goals, More
TheBradyHicks.com
interview with Crimson Full interview available at thebradyhicks.com
On
Still Being Undefeated: Its huge. Ive been with the company 15
months now and to still have the unbeaten streak going for me, to be tested
physically and mentally by some of the top guys in TNA, theres not a greater
experience for me.
On Being a Tag Team
Guy: It was successful, as you guys could see, but Im more of a
one-man army. I like going out there and taking care of business on my own, not
having to depend on anybody else. So it ran its course and it was pretty quick
I like the tag team division, and its going to get stronger as we go, but Id
just rather be out there kicking ass on my own.
On His
Goals: It was a huge honor to win those TNA tag team championships
and it was a huge honor to defend those championships. But just like anybody
else who gets into pro wrestling, your goal is to be the World heavyweight
champion. And the faster I can get to that point, the happier I will
be.
On TNAs Youth Movement: Its time
for the younger generation to step up and start taking over, if you can say
something like that. Its huge. This companys been around for 10 years, and the
younger guys are going to have to step up, thats just the way it is Younger
guys just chomping at the bit to get out there and prove that we belong. So its
something that Im going to cherish, to get that spot. To get that main event.
To get that World heavyweight championship.
On TNA
Having Potential to be the Top Company: It definitely does. I love
where Im at. I love TNA. I love being here, being a part of this roster It
does have all the pieces in place. And about guys coming in from other
companies, if theyre coming in for the right reason to help the product grow
then Im all for it. I think its just a matter of time.
On the Influence of Hogan, Flair, Sting, etc.: It is
really cool. Those are the guys that I grew up watching. Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan,
Sting, those guys are legends. And those are guys that, when I got in
wrestling, I knew in my mind where I wanted to be. Working next to those guys .
to have them here is tremendous. Especially as a younger guy on the roster,
theyre all about helping the younger guys and passing the torch, so to speak,
and trying to get us ready for the next level. Its huge having those guys
around. Huge.
AJ
Styles Interview: Talks TNA's Youth Movement, Overtaking WWE, More
TheBradyHicks.com
interview with AJ Styles Full interview available at thebradyhicks.com
On
TNAs Youth Movement, as it Stands: Theyre WE are definitely in
a better place. If were making new stars, thats what we need to do. We gotta
build that foundation, and it starts by making new stars. You cant rely on Rob
Van Dam and Jeff Hardy and guys like that who have been around for awhile . or
even AJ Styles for that matter. You have to continue to build new stars to rely
on and to keep it fresh.
On The Development of Bobby
Roode and James Storm: I gotta tell you, when those two broke up as
a tag team I thought, Oh man, thats the worst thing that could ever happen to
tag team wrestling. Literally these guys were the best in the world as a tag
team Its crazy what has happened with them over time. I cant say that I
dont want to see this match happen because I do.
On
Being in the Locker Room with Guys Like Flair, Hogan, Sting, and
Angle: Its a great thing to have around. If you can soak up as
much information as theyre putting out. You can only get better with those guys
around you These guys have done a lot in this business. If you can soak up
some of that information. The skys the limit.
On AJs
Relationship with Flair: I soaked up so much information from Ric
Flair that I realized hes kind of a douche-bag. Neither Fortune nor myself
wanted to be around him any more. Fortune kind of imploded because of
it.
On Bobby Roode as Champion: Like it
or not, Bobby Roode is the best world heavyweight champion RIGHT NOW. The guy is
good. You cant deny that fact. He looks good. He wrestles even better than he
looks. This guy is unstoppable at this point in his career.
On TNA Overtaking WWE: Its not going to happen
overnight. We dont have the money that the other company has. We just have to
take it slow When we move to0 fast, thats how you destroy a company.
