Finlay Saddened By The Divas Posted by Steve Carrier on 03/31/2012 at 07:23 PM
-- Wrestling Observer reported Saturday that Dave Finlay (a/k/a Fit Finlay) has been rehired by WWE as producer. He was fired last year after concocting an angle where The Miz interrupted the singing of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" to garner jeers from the audience. The National Guard, a company sponsor, complained to WWE brass over the event and it led to Finlay's termination. During his time with WWE, he was in charge of training the company's female performers for wrestling matches. In a newly published interview with Power Slam, Finlay was asked to give his take on the flatulence angle SmackDown Diva Natalya has been saddled with.
"Well, I haven't seen that, but I've been told about it. Yes, I agree," he says in response to interviewer Greg Lambert labeling it extremely distasteful. "Had that been presented to me [as SmackDown producer], I'd have said... erm... Well, she may be comfortable with it. I don't know,
"Look, I see the girls as wrestlers, personalities and friends. They are great people. Before she retired, Michelle McCool was an awesome girl and wrestler. Layla too. It's heartbreaking to see [the girls] not getting to where they want to get to. Natalya is a very sweet girl and a talented wrestler."
The story going around Miami is that Brock Lesnar has signed a one-yer deal with WWE and will work a "more than Undertaker and less than Goldberg" type of schedule. This report is unconfirmed. Lesnar is in Miami with security and is surrounded by a large group of people shielding him from everyone.
- It was reported Friday that Brock Lesnar was in negotiations with WWE officials to make a surprise appearance at Sunday's WrestleMania XXVIII pay-per-view event at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer stated on the F4WOnline.com message board that both sides have been in talks for a month and that WWE at least initially wanted his return match to take place at SummerSlam on August 19. Furthermore, Meltzer said Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is aware of Lesnar's negotiations with the organization, thus explaining his response to an Associated Press writer's question last week regarding a possible confrontation.
"I'm not saying a thing," said a grinning Johnson with his eyebrow raised after being asked about a possible encounter with Lesnar. "I didn't say anything."
- Last word on Brock Lesnar appearing at WrestleMania 28 was that the two sides were still working on terms of a deal including financial issues and a number of dates that he would be working for WWE. WWE wants Lesnar to have a somewhat regular role.
The Rock reportedly has several backstage segments lined up for Sunday's WrestleMania 28 pay-per-view. We noted a few weeks back that officials were limiting other matches so CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, Hell in a Cell and The Rock vs. John Cena could have the time they needed and so The Rock could have time for promos he had planned leading up to the main event.
- Former WWE Superstar Fit Finlay has reportedly returned to WWE in an agents role. He will start with the company this weekend and finish up his independent commitments over the next few weeks.
As noted before, Batista is in Miami and was reportedly picked up from the airport by a WWE employee. No word yet on talks with WWE but he is scheduled to participate in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon in support of St. Jude's Children's Hospital on Sunday. Sources say he could still make it to WrestleMania in time to appear.
Batista was hanging out with WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil on Friday night in Miami.

TNA Star Discusses The Real Reason CM Punk Was Done With TNA

CHAPTER 9: SEX, DRUGS & MONEY Written By
Brett Buchanan of BarbaricWrestling.com
Petey Williams:
Quote
[In Spring 2004] myself, Chris Sabin, Johnny Devine, Sabu, and
Jack Evans were the only people who witnessed the fight [between CM Punk and
Teddy Hart] with our eyeballs. What happened was we used to eat at this place
called the White Trash Cafй, just a name, thats where we used to have our
catering at; it was right across the street from where we filmed. I didnt know
that they had beef with each other at all; I wasnt hip to what was going on on
the internet. Apparently they bad mouthed each other on the internet; I dont
know the whole story behind the back story. Were eating and I saw Teddy and
Jack walk in there and then me Sabin and Johnny Devine were walking away and
they were like hey Punk is in the restaurant and Teddy just walked in, want to
see what happens? Im like whats going on guys? They said you know [Punk and
Hart] dont like each other. We turned around and pretty much like Teddy and CM
Punk walked out and it was kind of like, one of them says youve got a problem,
hes like youve got a problem? There was like one shove, I cant remember who
shoved whose shirt first. Then it was just a couple of quick punches, Teddy got
the upper hand I think like Punk kind of tripped and Teddy kind of tripped him
over or something so he was on his ass. Teddy was like punching him, and then
Sabu jumped in, this all happened within 20 seconds. Sabu jumped in and kind of
tore them apart and as Sabu is trying to tear them apart Teddy still has Punks
hair and is trying to kick him in the face. Then they kind of both went their
separate ways, and the office found out about it and that was the last time I
ever saw Punk in TNA. Then after Teddy did his stint with Team Canada that
lasted another week, he never came back. You cant fight, theres consequences
right.
