- Will Russo (Vince Russo's son), who had been working on the production side of TNA, quit the company Sunday via telephone after it was clear his father was leaving the promotion.
- TNA sources are indicating that Vince Russo was released from his position as a lead writer for the company's creative team. The decision was not much of a surprise as much of the direction in recent months had been directed by Bruce Prichard and Eric Bischoff with Vince Russo and Matt Conway writing the actual scripts of the shows, which were then filtered through the aforementioned and tweaked the day of production.
- Dixie Carter's Twitter statement on Russo leaving was the first official word many in the company had heard on Russo's status within the company. The statement also makes it appear that both sides (TNA & Vince Russo) have agreed not to speak badly of each other.
- Dave Lagana, who was hired by the company for Ring Ka King, was at this week's round of TV helping with production and offering feedback and some creative input. Going forward, it is expected he will be working with Matt Conway on scripts but it is not seen as a replacement of Vince Russo's position as much as someone who was working for the company taking on some additional responsibilities.
- Rumors that Dave Lagana replaced Russo started because Lagana's position with the company was labeled "Creative Director." This is actually the job title he was given when TNA hired him.
- The Russo departure will leave the company without one of Dixie's top confidantes and in a way, top scapegoat, as there was certainly a segment of fans prepared to blame Russo for anything that was booked that they didn't like from a logical standpoint.

Alberto Del Rio Disliked by WWE Colleagues Posted by Steve Carrier on 02/15/2012 at 10:54 PM
The Wrestling Observer reports that Alberto Del Rio is disliked by some of his WWE colleagues due to how he carries himself and the belief that his position in the company is unwarranted.
The two-time WWE Champion is seen as off-putting behind the scenes as he portrays himself as a master backstage politician and struts around as a superstar. There is also a perception that he is not over to the level of his sizable push as his matches and promos garner tepid reactions from the audience. Company officials, however, are receptive to the Mexican grappler as they feel he has superstar potential because he's bilingual, tall and has a "great movie star look." His push is also fueled by the company's need for Hispanic stars given the lack of clarity regarding the long-term futures of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara.
Meanwhile, Del Rio admitted during an interview last week with Bay area sports radio station 95.7 FM The Game that he doesn't like many of his WWE peers. When asked who he liked the least, the second-generation wrestler said that he hates The Miz.
"This is not part of the show. I really dislike that guy. I've tried to punch him in the face several times, not in the ring I mean outside the ring, but he's just like a little girl, he's always running away from me," Del Rio said.
"There's a big difference between The Miz and I, I'm a real athlete, he's just a loud stupid little kid. He's probably one of those guys that was bullied when he was in school, that's the reason he's now oh so loud and he wants to get attention from everybody, but in my case he's the real deal."
Del Rio capped off his Miz rant by saying that he doesn't have many female fans because "he's fat and ugly."
HHH Wants More Spanish-Speaking Wrestlers Hired Posted by Steve Carrier on 02/15/2012 at 07:55 PM
Triple H reportedly wants more Spanish-speaking wrestlers signed since he believes the Hispanic market is a major key to the prosperity of WWE. More specifically, he wants wrestlers who can conduct interviews in both English and Spanish. Rosa Mendes in particular has been directed to yell at ringside in Spanish as much as possible since she's bilingual.
The Miz has as much heat as anyone in WWE, but it has little to do with him not catching R-Truth during the Six-Pack Challenge on last week's Raw SuperShow. Rather, the animosity is being attributed to his obnoxious behavior as many of his co-workers are turned off by it.
"The feeling is he's like a little frat boy who is loud and has to be the center of attention," the Wrestling Observer says.
As reported last week, it is widely believed within WWE that his work has regressed, both in the squared circle and verbally. When he was low on the totem pole, he appeared motivated and forced management to make him a headliner. He is now back to mid-card status and isnt giving WWE much reason to elevate him again.

- The Wrestling Globe reports that WWE officials have decided to put Brodus Clay's "Funkasaurus" gimmick on hold for the time being. Word is that Vince McMahon feels that Clay's ring work wasn't where it needed to be for WWE TV.
The match against Heath Slater was cut from SmackDown a few weeks back when the decision was made that Clay needed to work on his in-ring skills.

Here is the latest update on the Vince Russo-TNA deal.
Citaat:As of right now, Dave Lagana is not replacing Vince Russo on the TNA creative team. As noted earlier, Lagana is backstage at tonight's Against All Odds PPV and working in an agent/producer role.
Some within TNA believe Vince Russo is gone as he is not backstage tonight. Nobody seems to know for sure what his status is and nobody was told anything in production meetings today.
The TNA creative team has had Vince Russo and Matt Conway writing most of the scripts for iMPACT!. Bruce Prichard would then approve those scripts with feedback from Eric Bischoff.
Here are some new details on the TNA creative team shake-up:
* Dave Lagana was working on helping with pre-taped segments only at the TNA PPV. It doesn't appear as if he has been promoted or is replacing Vince Russo yet.
* Russo was not at the show and it does appear as if changes to the creative team are in the works. No official announcement on anything has been made to the wrestlers or staff.
* It appears as if the lackluster ratings for the recent iMPACT! shows in London, England may have been the final straw to cause changes.
* Eric Bischoff would have been part of the decision to get Vince Russo out of power within the TNA creative team. The feeling backstage right now is that Russo is out and that he won't be retained in any capacity with TNA.
* Russo's exit would likely result in Bischoff having more power. Bischoff has consistently disagreed with Russo on TNA's booking and storylines.
* As of now, Bruce Prichard is still head of TNA's creative team. Wherever Dave Lagana ends up, it'll be below Prichard and Bischoff.
* At this point, it seems as if Lagana's role won't really be expanding. He has downplayed his role, another sign that he hasn't been promoted.
In an update on earlier reports, Vince Russo is out as TNA head writer. The move happened several days ago. As of right now, Dave Lagana will be taking his place. Lagana is at the show tonight but is only working as a producer as this point, not a creative head. He had been working for TNA's Ring Ka King promotion.
Vince Russo is not backstage tonight.
Lagana tweeted the following earlier today: "And we are off and running... The calm before the storm."
