    New Set
    pic.twitter.com/XZ87l1Rv

-- As Vickie Guerrero alluded to on Twitter this morning, WWE is set to debut a new stage at tonight's live event. WWE champion CM Punk has posted (an admittedly crappy) preview picture of the set. Punk just tweeted:

"A horrible sneak peek picture of the new house show...er...LIVE EVENT set. Looks much better in person. http://pic.twitter.com/XZ87l1Rv"

    - Apparently WWE is fixing to debut a new stage setup for the RAW brand. Vickie Guerrero, who is headed with the RAW crew to tonight's live event in Pittsburgh, wrote the following on Twitter this morning:

"Flying to Pittsburgh!!! I can't wait to see the new stage setup tonight. See all of you there"

    Orton geblesseerd

We can report that the Randy Orton injury was a pre-existing injury. Orton has been protected in recent outings, since about December 19th, so that he would not have to do too much physically on TV.

Orton could miss up to six months of in-ring time, causing him to miss WrestleMania 28. An official update from WWE should be available soon.

At this point, the plan looks to be to move one of the RAW matches to the SmackDown tour to help fortify the lineups starting tonight.

The following is from our SmackDown **SPOILER** report: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett in a falls count anywhere match is next. Orton threw Barrett in the crowd and the referee gets knocked out. they fight to the backstage area and brawl like they did last week. Backstage an elevator door opens and they fight in an elevator where there's an elevator cam set up. Later, Barrett threw Orton off a set of stairs. The show ends with Orton in extreme pain after being pushed down the stairs. The crowd is not happy as they were not sure if the match was over or not.

CM Punk Denied Entry Into Madison Square Garden
Posted by Steve Carrier on 12/27/2011 at 07:16 PM

    - WWE Champion CM Punk was denied entry into Madison Square Garden today for the RAW live event. The security guard didn't believe Punk was an actual WWE Superstar and another guard had to step in and let Punk into the building.

    Punk wrote on Twitter:

"Sellout the Horizon on a Monday, refused entry to the Garden on Tuesday. My life is awesome."

    "Some serious Larry David shit."

    The following is from WWE.com:

WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann has confirmed that Alberto Del Rio suffered a groin tear during the tag team main event of the Dec. 19 edition of Raw SuperShow.

"We were able to look at an MRI, and it appears as though he has a groin injury that’s severe enough to require surgery," Dr. Amann told WWE.com. "Fortunately for Alberto, the surgery is minimally invasive and the recovery time is usually four to six weeks."

Check back with WWE.com and tune in to Monday Night Raw SuperShow at 9/8 CT on USA Network for the latest updates on Del Rio’s condition.

WWE Raw SuperShow results: Kane rises to hate
By: Ryan Murphy December 26, 2011
Tags: WWE Raw SuperShow: December 26, 2011

CHICAGO — WWE Champion CM Punk’s Second City homecoming was marred by the underhanded actions of Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis and Dolph Ziggler, while the diabolical Kane finally shed some fire on his recent attacks on John Cena.

Kane explained why he attacked John Cena (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After two brutal assaults on John Cena, The Big Red Monster finally revealed why he targeted the Cenation leader. The monster’s reason? Hate.

Standing behind a wall of fire, Kane made it clear that he’s disgusted by Cena’s “Rise Above Hate” T-shirt slogan, because humans are hateful by nature. The twisted demon then said he’s going to help the powerful Superstar understand this by leading WWE fans in a chant of “Cena sucks! Cena sucks!” Some members of the WWE Universe followed Kane, others didn't, but the outcry seemed to shake the confident competitor.

Dolph Ziggler def. WWE Champion CM Punk in a Title-Free Gauntlet Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Still sucking air after his first Gauntlet Match, Punk rallied against the talented, but arrogant Dolph Ziggler. That was until Mr. Laurinaitis stuck his nose in. Distracting The Straight Edge Superstar by making a mid-match announcement, the Interim Raw General Manager allowed Ziggler to steal one and earn a WWE Title opportunity against the champion next Monday night. The showoff was so pumped about his victory, he snatched Punk’s title and taunted a disgusted Chicago crowd.

WWE Champion CM Punk def. Jack Swagger in a Gauntlet Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Forced by Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis to face Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and Mark Henry in a Gauntlet Match, WWE Champion CM Punk knew he had to dispatch of his first opponent early. It wasn't easy getting by the former World Heavyweight Champion, but even with the shrill Vickie Guerrero attempting to sway the bout for her client, The Straight Edge Superstar put Swagger to bed with a devastating roundhouse kick.

Alberto Del Rio vowed to be more ruthless (PHOTOS)
For once, The Mexican Aristocrat looked humbled. Rolled out in a wheelchair by Ricardo Rodriguez, Alberto Del Rio revealed that he suffered a torn groin in the previous Monday’s main event, which will cause him to miss some ring time. (FULL STORY) When WWE fans cheered his misfortune, Nikki and Brie Bella came to their crush’s defense, but only ended up bickering between themselves. Irritated, Del Rio sent the twins away and vowed to return more vicious than ever in 2012.

Big Show def. David Otunga by Disqualification (WATCH | PHOTOS)
With one arm tied behind his back, Big Show squared off with the litigious David Otunga, but quickly learned he’d been set up. Sabotaged by the vicious Mark Henry, the giant was nearly brutalized until World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan hit the ring and distracted The World’s Strongest Man. Henry managed to escape before Show could destroy him, but Otunga wasn’t so lucky. The World’s Largest Athlete hit him with a chokeslam so huge, the lawyer may have forgotten where he went to college.

John Cena def. The Miz by Count-out; R-Truth returned (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Outraged over Kane’s recent attacks, John Cena demanded The Big Red Monster face him in the ring live in Chicago. Instead, he got The Awesome One. Looking to end 2011 on a high note, The Miz challenged the man he beat at WrestleMania XXVII and ended up getting tossed around by a very focused Cena.

Frustrated, Miz rolled out of the squared circle and talked trash until he got counted out. But before he could escape without any more damage, he was stopped by R-Truth. Returning after being put in the hospital by The Awesome One, Truth recklessly battered his former friend around the ringside area and then warned, “This New Year’s, acquaintances be forgot? No! They’re going to get got!”

U.S. Champion Zack Ryder & Eve def. Tyson Kidd & Natalya (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Now that Zack Ryder has the United States Championship, he’s set his sunglasses on a greater prize — Eve. Teaming with the gorgeous Diva after spoiling her with Broski merchandise for Christmas, Long Island Iced-Z proved that he can work very well with the former Divas Champion. Eve definitely enjoyed their success over Tyson Kidd & Natalya, but she doesn’t seem ready to accept Ryder’s offer for a date.

Booker T def. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes in a Title-Free Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Aw, shucky ducky. Three days after his distraction caused Cody Rhodes to fall to Zack Ryder on SmackDown, Booker T beat his vicious rival in the ring with the scissors kick. The six-time World Champion proved that not only does he have Cody’s number, but he’s still got it in the ring.

Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis set a Gauntlet Match for WWE Champion CM Punk (PHOTOS)
The Chicago crowd hoping to give their hometown hero a rousing ovation was disappointed when Raw kicked off with Interim General Manager John Laurinaitis mocking CM Punk's signature entrance. With the WWE Champion's T-shirt pulled over his suit jacket, the executive proceeded to give himself credit for the exciting changes in sports-entertainment.

That was all it took to bring out a livid Second City Savior. Explaining that Raw’s revolution is due to Punk being “the best wrestler in the world,” the WWE Champion looked ready to hit the EVP with a GTS. That’s when Laurinaitis announced his idea for the evening — Punk will face three opponents in a Gauntlet Match and if any of those competitors beat the champion, they will receive a WWE Title Match next week on the first Raw of the New Year!

The Straight Edge Superstar was game, but he wanted to up the ante. If the tattooed Superstar beat all three Superstars, he proposed that he get a fourth match with none other than John Laurinaitis himself.

SmackDown results: New champions ride into SmackDown
By: Mitch Passero December 23, 2011
    Tags: SmackDown: December 23, 2011

RICHMOND, Va. – After emotional wins just days earlier at WWE TLC, new World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and new United States Champion Zack Ryder both continued to soar on the penultimate SmackDown of 2011.

World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan & Big Show def. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger (WATCH | PHOTOS)
As new World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan battled former United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Vickie Guerrero and Jack Swagger all circled the action at ringside. But as tensions grew outside the ring, Swagger decided to attack Show, leading to the two tussling in the ring. In an effort to avoid total chaos, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long charged in and announced the bout was now a tag team bout. After Big Show worked over Swagger pretty good, Bryan seized the victory for his team by making The All-American American tap out to his pain-inducing LeBell Lock.

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston def. Primo (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Following up on Air Boom’s victory over Primo & Epico at WWE TLC, WWE Tag Champion Kofi Kingston defeated Primo in singles action with Trouble in Paradise.

Randy Orton RKO’d Wade Barrett onto the roof of a car (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Wade Barrett took to the ring and offered his view on his encounters with Randy Orton and said Orton “…was one of the greatest in the history of WWE, until he encountered Wade Barrett.” As he finished his address, Barrett declared he should be next to face new World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. Hearing enough of Barrett’s lip, The Viper decided to let his actions do the talking by storming in and bringing the fight to Barrett. As the two fought tooth-and-nail, they found themselves within the parking garage of the Richmond Coliseum, where WWE’s Apex Predator brutally RKO’d Barrett onto the roof of a parked car!

Sheamus def. The Miz (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After Raw Superstar The Miz sauntered onto SmackDown – declaring he was going to disrupt Teddy’s show – he perhaps bit off more than he could chew when Long pit him against Sheamus. Although the former WWE Champion was a formidable foe, he proved no match for The Great White’s brutal Brogue Kick.

The Big Show vs. Mark Henry match was called off (WATCH | PHOTOS)
As the two massive former World Heavyweight Champions prepared to clash for the opportunity to challenge Daniel Bryan, David Otunga called a stop to things. As the legal counsel to Executive Vice Present of Talent Relations and Interim General Manager of Raw John Laurinaitis, Otunga announced that Mark Henry was not medically cleared to compete and the match would not take place. After Otunga wished the WWE Universe happy holidays, Big Show dropped him with a brutal WMD to the jaw.

United States Champion Zack Ryder def. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes in a Non-Title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Fresh off his big win at WWE TLC, United States Champion Zack Ryder looked sharp against Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. But Booker T decided to interrupt their match and poke fun at his WWE TLC opponent by singing his own rendition of the holiday classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” The distraction opened the door for Ryder to drop Rhodes with a Rough Ryder for the win. Afterward, Booker added insult to injury with some more “singing.”

World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan evaluated himself (PHOTOS)
The night kicked off with Big Show describing his pride in winning the title he has sought for so long. But Mark Henry emerged to disparage Show and said he should quit WWE. Moments later, World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan came to the ring to compare himself to the rest of the WWE roster. After some self-criticism, Bryan was proud to declare himself World Heavyweight Champion.

Then, when Henry and Show argued about who should get a chance to face Bryan, Teddy declared the two would square off, with the winner being first in line to challenge him for his World Title. Next, Bryan feigned that he would shake hands with Henry, but then dissed The World’s Strongest Man when went to accept.

The December 19th RAW Supershow did a 2.92 cable rating and 4.29 million viewers with the TLC pay-per-view fallout.

In the segment breakdown, the show opened with a strong 3.36 rating, likely interest from the TLC pay-per-view. Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett lost 721,000 viewers but Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox gained 277,000 viewers. Jinder Mahal vs. Sheamus lost 247,000 viewers and the John Cena promo that featured Kane and Mark Henry gained 428,000 viewers with a 3.18 quarter rating.

Epico & Primo vs. The Usos and Cody Rhodes vs. Santino Marella lost 719,000 viewers. Backstage segments with John Laurinaitis and The Bella Twins, Hornswoggle and a Big Show interview lost 56,000 viewers.

In what is a very bad sign, the overrun for the CM Punk, Daniel Bryan & Zack Ryder vs. Alberto Del Rio, The Miz & Dolph Ziggler match gained only 59,000 viewers. This is almost impossible as people tune into USA to see the next TV show. This means wrestling fans were tuning out in large numbers. Fans tuned out mostly during the first part of the match but viewership picked up some at 11pm.

The RAW six-man main event did a 2.67 rating, which might be the lowest rated RAW main event of this year.
