Don West and Mike Tenay open up the show on the stage and tell us about the matches well see tonight featuring some of the best matches from TNA this year featuring such stars as Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, & more. Well start the show off with what Don West calls the Comeback Match of the Year.

TNA Bound for Glory (October 12, 2008)
This match was Jeff Jarretts first match in almost 2 years and the very first meeting between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle. They show some nice interview clips from Jeff Jarrett during his entrance talking about what he felt during the match and then Mick Foley spoke on his thoughts going into the match. That was a nice touch to it. Kurt Angle talks about the problems he and Jeff had going into the match as they begin to lock up. I love that addition to the match. Very nice touch. I wont do play by play for these Best of matches but I will give my opinions on some of the bigger spots and moments in the matches. Jeff and Kurt started the match off with some nice reversal s and chain wrestling that got the crowd involved early. Jeff, Kurt, and Mick continue to give their insights into the match throughout. Kurt says during his insight into the feud during the match that Jeff needs to get over losing his wife. That guy never lets up. Mike Tenay and Don West are doing dubbed commentary rather than the original commentary from the PPV. Jeff Jarrett finally gained control of the match by clotheslining Kurt to the outside and then hitting a slingshot cross body over the top onto Kurt on the floor. Kurt took the advantage of the match but Jeff came back with an Atomic Drop and an Enziguri. Jarrett did the strut but paid for after Kurt turned him inside out with a clothesline.

Back from commercials Jeff gets a nearfall of a schoolboy then gets killed with another stiff clothesline. Kurt talks about his strategy in the match which was too tire Jeff out quickly because of his ring rust. Jeff talks about his gameplan for the match as well. Jeff and Kurt continue to go back and forth with neither getting the complete advantage. Jarrett was able to throw Kurt into the ring post and then hit a DDT but he was unable to capitalize as both men were down. Angle hits a big Belly-to-Belly overhead release suplex for a nearfall and then goes for the Angle Slam, but Jeff counters into a DDT for a nearfall of his own. Jeff puts Kurt on the top rope and goes for a Superplex but Kurt stops him and attempts to Belly-to-Belly Jeff off the top rope to the floor, but Jeff blocks it and Superplexes Kurt back into the ring for a two count. While this was happening Jeff and Kurt talked about that highspot. Jeff puts Kurt in the Figure Four as Kurt screams in pain while he talks about being in that submission move and wanting to quit, but wouldnt. Kurt struggled for several minutes to get out of the hold and finally gets to the ropes to break it up.

Back from commercials again Kurt hits the three amigo German Suplexes for another nearfall. Kurt goes for the Angle Slam but Jeff counters nicely with an arm drag. Jeff goes for a Piledriver but Kurt backdrops Jeff and Jeff goes for a sunset flip, but Kurt rolls through and locks in the Ankle Lock! Jeff talks about being in that hold as Kurt continues to wrench on that ankle. Jeff rolls through and breaks up the submission and Angle hits the Angle Slam, but only gets a 2 count as Jeff got his shoulder up. Angle climbs to the top and attempts his beautiful Moonsault but Jeff moves out of the way and Jeff eats the canvas. I know I said this wouldnt be play-by-play but its come pretty close hasnt it. Angle accidentally clotheslines the referee and Jeff hits Kurt with the Stroke and Mick Foley slides into the ring! Mick counts, 1 2 and Kurt got his shoulder up. Mick talks about why he got involved in the match at that point. Kurt has grabbed a steel chair but Mick Foley tells him to get rid of it but Kurt Angle absolutely destroys Mick Foley with a nasty chair shot. Kurt then blasts Jeff with the chair and pulls him to the center of the ring. Kurt talks about why he hit Jeff and Mick with the chair. Kurt covers Jeff and wakes up the referee but Mick pulls him out of the ring. Mick knocks Kurt down with a righthand and pulls out Mr. Socko! Mandible Claw on Kurt as the fans go nuts and then Jeff goes El Kabong on Kurt and blasts him with the guitar. Referee back in and Jeff gets the pin and the win in his return match.
Winner: Jeff Jarrett via pinfall
(This was a really great match that told a great story. Good spots and it had some really good counter wrestling and reversals and was very physical. ****)

This was easily the best Womens feud in 2008 and these 2 had several great matches and Im loving that TNA isnt just ignoring the fact that Gail was in the company since she has since left TNA unlike certain other companies. In my opinion the Final Resolution Street Fight between these two was the best Womens Match in all of a wrestling, but this was a great match and was also the first time the knockouts main evented a TNA show so I can understand the decision to choose it. Gail starts the match off some nasty chops and goes for a roundhouse from the ring apron but gets nailed with a spinning back first for her trouble. Kong slammed Gail on the entrance ramp and then laid her leg over Gails throat choking her until Gail hit a nice kick to the head. Im really trying not to do play-by-play. Gail dives off the ramp onto Kong but Kong catches her in midair and slams her into a wall and then throws her into another one. Kong is throwing Gail around like a ragdoll. Gail is leaning against a wall and Kong charges at her, but Gail moves and Kong goes crashing through the wall!

Back from commercials Kong is slamming Gails head into the apron and rolls Gail back into the ring while TNA shows more replays of Kong going through the wall. Kong continues to destroy Gail with power moves. Kong puts Gail on the top rope but then Gail bites Kong. Kong goes for spinning back fist on Gail but she blocks it and hits a jumping Tornado DDT off the top for a near fall. Now we get some insight into this feud and match from Angelina Love of the Beautiful People as Gail continues to work over Kong. Gail hits a nice Back Splash Senton off the top for a nearfall. Raisha distracts Gail as she climbs to the top rope and when Gail comes off Kong catches her in midair with a Chokeslam, but Gail kicks out at two. We get insight from Traci, ODB, & Roxxi as Kong hits the Implant Buster on Gail for another nearfall. Kong goes for the Awesome Bomb but Gail escapes and hits several forearm shivers followed by a beautiful front dropkick. Gail climbs back to the top and goes for the leaping Hurricanrana, but Kong blocks it and just absolutely destroys Gail with the Awesome Bomb, but instead of pinning Gail she picks her up and hits 2 more Awesome Bombs in succession for the pin. Gail is dead and Kong is the new champion.
Winner & NEW Knockouts Champ: Awesome Kong via pinfall (Awesome Bomb)
(These two never had a bad match and this was no exception and it was a great way for TNA to give the ladies some shine in the main event which is what they need to do more of with the Knockouts and the X-Division. I still think the Final Resolution match between these two was better but this was a great match nonetheless. ***1/2)

TNA says that this is their 2008 Match of the Year and I concur as this match was incredible. I really wish they wouldve shown the entrances and the introductions because this entire match juts had a big match feel to it. There are some people that didnt like this match because of its heavy-mma influence but I thought it made it seem that more legit. Kurt and Joe feel each other out in the beginning with both missing kicks and strike attempts. Kurt blocks a kick from Joe and then he charges Joe as they clench on the ropes. The referee breaks them up and Kurt hits a nice leg kick to Joes big tree trunk-like leg. They begin to lock up again and Kurt again leg kicks Joe. Kurt goes for another leg kick but Joe blocks it and hits several nasty leg kicks of his own as Kurt gives us his thoughts on this match. Kurt catches Joes leg and Joe goes for an Enziguri, but Kurt blocks it and goes for the Ankle Lock but Joe reverses it into an Ankle Lock of his own. Kurt quickly gets to the ropes to break the hold as Joe gives us his thoughts on the match. Angle takes Joe down and hits some nice strikes until Joe gets to the ropes. Kurt shoots on Joe again and gets another takedown and pounds him somemore as Mick Foley gives his thoughts on the Six Sides of Steel. Joe takes Kurt down and hits some nice strikes as Kurt and Joe give their thoughts on Six Sides of Steel. Kurt with some knee strikes as they clinch but Joe hits a Judo throw on Kurt and kicks him. Joe goes for a leg sweep but Kurt blocks it and hits a beautiful overhead suplex on Joe as Joe talks about his feud with Kurt Angle. Kurt puts Joe in a Keylock Submission as Kurt talks about the feud and his training for the match. Joe gets to the ropes and then Kurt hits some nasty strikes on Joe in the corner. Kurt puts Joe in a side headlock as the fans are chanting for Joe to get to his feet. He does so and hits some jabs and comes off the ropes, but Angle nails him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex for a two count. Kurt hits a nasty European Uppercut on Joe and then mounts him somemore ground and pound. Kurt attempts to put Joe in a Fujiwara Armbar, but Joe fights it and actually pins Kurt for a two count. Kurt continues to beat on Joe but he gets some more jabs and punches and comes off the ropes again but Kurt takes his knee out with a chopblock as we go to a damn commercial.

Back from commercials Angle has Joe in a Figure Four but Joe rolls over and Angle gets to the ropes to break it up. Angle continues to work on Joes knee with kicks and then puts Joe in a wicked knee lock, but Joe hits Angle with some nasty chops. Angle puts Joe in a side headlock but Joe gets to his feet and hits back elbows and then comes off the ropes but Angle quickly goes for the belly-to-belly, but Joe hits a double chop and then absolutely kills Angle with a Lariat straight from hell (eat your heart out JBL). Joe sells the knee as both men are down and Angle looks dead. Both men get to their feet but Joe hits Angle with repeated forearms and then a clothesline followed by a nasty running knee in the corner. Joe whips Angle in the corner and charges but Angle gets his foot up. Joe then comes out of nowhere with an Enzigiri! Joe sets Angle up in the corner and goes for the Muscle Buster, but Angle rolls through into an Ankle Lock! What a counter. Angle talks about coming up with new variations to the Ankle Lock as Joe attempts to fight out and he does kick Angle off. Angle charges Joe in the corner and Joe catches him with the STJoe for a two count. Angle pokes Joe in the eyes and charges but Joe hits nasty kick followed by an even nastier Powerbomb for a two count, but Joe rolls Angle over as he kicks out into a Boston Crab that would make Chris Jericho jealous all in one fluid motion! Angle almost taps and then almost gets to the ropes but Joe puts him in the STF as he reaches for the ropes! Angle talks about Joe putting him in the Boston Crab and the STF as Angle continues to crawl to the ropes. Angle almost taps but he is able to get one of Joes ankles and puts him in the Ankle Lock out of absolutely nowhere! Joe fights out of it and rolls through and puts Angle in a Crossface all in one motion! Angle pulls Joes fingers away but Joe puts Angle back in the move and Angle quickly grabs the ropes. Angle charges Joe with a clothesline attempt but Joe catches him and puts him back in the Crossface. Angle backrolls through the hold and hits the Angle Slam on Joe out of nowhere for a CLOSE two count! Angle puts Joe back in the Ankle Lock and Joe talks about being put in that move. Joe tries to fight out but Angle keeps it locked in. Joe is able to roll over and then kicks Angle with his other foot and slaps the Coquina Clutch on Angle! Angle grabs the referee and uses him to pull himself to the ropes! Angle comes back with a kick to the gut and goes for the Angle Slam, but Joe blocks it and slams Angle into the cage! Joe hits a sick Superkick followed by the Muscle Buster for the pinfall as the fans go nuts! After the match Joe speaks on winning the TNA Title and what it meant to him.
Winner & NEW TNA Champ: Samoa Joe via pinfall (Muscle Buster)
(This is as good as wrestling gets. This match brought something new to wrestling which is something we dont see a ton of now adays. TNA took a risk in letting Joe and Angle have a near-shoot MMA type match and it worked. This match had it all, the great emotion, great technical wrestling, great reversals and counters, great nearfalls, and great submission wrestling. They only used the cage one time as it was simply there to keep it one-on-one. Classic match and it was, in my opinion, the perfect ending to one of TNAs greatest feuds to date. *****)
After that match Tenay and West are in the ring and talk about how great the Joe vs. Angle match was and tells us what else we can expect for the rest of the show.

The Icon Sting (c) vs. The Phenomenal AJ Styles
TNA Turning Point (November 9, 2008)
I do believe this was the first one-on-one meeting between AJ Styles and Sting and this match was taken place right slam in the middle of the MEM vs. Front Line war. Sting begins the match giving us his thoughts on respect and the lack of it that AJ and company have. AJ talks about respect himself as they do some counter wrestling in the ring. They go back and forth as AJ talks about the TNA Title. AJ leapfrogs Sting and then misses the dropkick and Sting hits a bulldog. AJ hits the dropkick out of nowhere this time and Sting rolls to the floor as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial Sting Gorilla Press Slams AJ from inside the ring to the floor on the outside! Sting follows AJ to the outside and throws AJ into the guardrail and then slams AJ onto it as AJ talks about being thrown out of the ring during the match. Sting talks about what his goal was in the match and wanting to teach AJ in this match. AJ comes back from the dead with rights and lefts and then a nice backbreaker. AJ whips Sting into the ropes and goes for a hiptoss but Sting blocks it and puts AJ in an Abdominal Stretch. AJ hits the hiptoss but Sting comes back with a Hotshot onto the top rope. AJ continues to beat down AJ in the corner. Sting whips AJ from corner to corner and then puts AJ in an elevated Bear Hug. AJ hits repeated headbutts on Sting that break up the hold but then Sting puts AJ back in the Abdominal Stretch. AJ with right hands and Sting comes back as they are trading in the center of the ring and then AJ comes out of nowhere with an Enziguri! AJ speaks on the plan the Front Line has for 2009 as Sting and AJ attempt to get to their feet. AJ hits a big clothesline and then back suplex. AJ hits the Springboard Flying Forearm off the top for a two count. AJ with a snap suplex for another nearfall. Sting goes for the Scorpion Death Drop but AJ kicks him off. AJ goes for a Flying Forearm in the corner but Sting moves and hits the Scorpion Death Drop out of nowhere, but only gets a two count! Sting climbs to the top and goes for a Flying Cross Body, but AJ moves and goes for the Styles Clash but Sting fights out with a kick to the head. Sting hits the Stinger Splash and then hits another one as AJ crumples to the mat. Sting hits a third Stinger Splash and sets AJ up on the top rope. Sting goes for a Superplex but AJ blocks it and hits a Sunset Flip into a Powerbomb off the top! AJ climbs to the top and hits the Spiral Tap! Instead of pinning Sting, though, AJ climbs to the top for another Spiral Tap but Kurt Angle and Booker T. run down to the ring. AJ takes both out on the ring apron, AJ turns around, Sting goes for a clothesline, AJ ducks and goes for the Pele, but Sting moves out of the way and Sting Oklahoma Rolls AJ into a cradle for the pin! After the match Sting justifies MEM cheating and AJ talks about it as well.

(This was a very good match but it couldve been better. The finish was very good though. ***1/2)

Main Event TNA World Tag Team Championships Beer Money Inc. (c) w/Jacqueline vs. L.A.X.
This will be the very first Title Match of the year in Professional Wrestling and I think doing stuff like this for a Year End show is a great idea (they did it last year too right?). With 20 minutes left in the show as the match starts it should get good time as well. The two best tag teams in America in my opinion (Motor City Machine Guns right behind them) going at it one more time and James Storm rides his Cooler Mobile as Don West dubs it to the ring as usual. Storm and Homicide will start the match off and James gets in a side headlock right off the bat, but Homicide pushes him off into the ropes and James hits a shoulderblock. Homicide leapfrogs Storm and then goes for a chop but Storm blocks it and whips Homicide into the ropes where Cide hits a head scissors takeover! Homicide hits a Monkey Flip on Storm and then a dropkick as Homicide is on fire. Storm quickly retreats to his corner and Homicide comes over and slams Storms head into Roodes crotch. Homicide whips Roode into the corner and then drops down and hits a belly-to-belly underhook release suplex for a two count and tags Hernandez in. Homicide whips Storm into the ropes and Hernandez comes flying in with a Slingshot Shoulder Block! Hernandez catapults Storm into a clothesline from Homicide followed by a backsplash senton on Storm as he laid over Hernandezs knees for a two count. Storm is able to come back by pushing Hernandez into the corner and tagging in Roode. Roode with chops on Hernandez and then attempts to whip him into the ropes, but Hernandez reverses it and goes for a backdrop but Storm kicks him in the face. Roode comes off the ropes but Hernandez catches him with a vicious Shoulder Block that sends Roode flying across the ring! Hernandez hits shoulderblocks to Roode in the corner and tags in Homicide who hits a Corkscrew Back Elbow to Roode. Roode comes back with a knee strike but then Homicide comes back with the Three Amigs Vertical Suplexes and then elevates Roode up and onto Hernandezs shoulder where he drops Roode with the Gutwrench Backbreaker for a two count. Good, quick tags by LAX as Homicide tags back in and he chops Roode. Homicide attempts to whip Roode into the ropes but he reverses it and Homicide slides on the mat and stops and then backdrops a charging Roode over the top to the floor! Homicide follows up with the Tope Con Hilo through the ropes onto Roode on the floor! Homicide grabs one of Storms beers and drinks it up as we go to commercials.

Back from commercials Homicide goes for a clothesline on Storm but he blocks it and hits a Double Underhook into a powerbomb type move for a two count. Homicide comes back with right hands and then dives for the tag but Storm catches him in midair! Homicide is able to reach out and tag Hernandez but Roode had the referee distracted so he didnt see it! Aw, classic heel tag team wrestling at its finest. Storm slams Homicide into the corner and Roode beats on him as they show a replay of an Enziguri from the apron by Storm on Homicide, a Swinging Neckbreaker from Roode, and the Beer Money Double Suplex. Roode hits Homicide with a back suplex for a two count and then tags in Storm. Storm puts Homicide up on the top rope and hits a nasty right hand. Storm goes for a Superplex but Homicide blocks it and hits a crazy Jumping DDT off the top rope! Storm is able to tag Roode back in and Roode goes for a Suplex on Homicide but he reverses it and goes for a T-Bone Suplex, but Roode blocks it and goes for a Back Suplex and Homicide lands on his feet! Homicide pushes Roode into the corner and tags in Hernadnez who hits nasty chops to both members of Beer Money followed by scoop slams for them both. Homicide with a dual dropkick to both Storm and Roode. Hernandez then hits big corner splashes on both men followed by the Biel Toss on Roode and then a clothesline for Storm. Hernandez charges Roode in the corner but Roode gets his boot up. Roode climbs to the top and comes off but Hernandez catches him in midair and turns it into a Powerbomb for a two count before Storm broke it up. Hernandez hits a nasty Shortarm Clothesline on Storm and then Hernandez tags in Homicide and hiptosses Homicide over the top rope onto Beer Money! Homicide with right hands to both Storm and Roode but Roode throws Homicide through the ropes to the floor as Hernandez sets Storm up on the top rope. Hernandez hits the Superplex off the top and then Roode hits the Spinebuster on Hernandez, but when Roode turns around Homicide hits the Gringo Cutter! Homicide goes for the Frog Splash on Roode off the top but he moves and Storm puts Homicide on his shoulder. Roode comes off the top with a neckbreaker attempt but he missed it and Storm just slammed Homicide to the mat for a two count. Beer Money sets Homicide up for the D.W.I. but Hernandez clotheslines Storm so Roode puts Homicide up on Hernandezs shoulders and he throws Homicide up off his shoulders right into a Tornado DDT on Roode! Hernandez hits the Super Mex Plancha over the top onto Storm on the outside as Homicide hits the Frog Splash on Roode in the ring for a close nearfall! Roode has a title belt and goes to hit Homicide with it but he ducks and kicks Roode in the gut. Homicide grabs the title belt as Jacky is distracting the referee and hits Roode with it! Homicide covers Roode and gets another very close nearfall. Jacqueline grabs a chair as Storm hits the Last Call on Hernandez on the outside. Homicide rolls Roode up as the referee is outside attending to Hernandez and Storm. Roode pushes Homicide right into a chair shot from Jacky! Roode rolls Homicide up and gets the cheap win!
Winners & STILL TNA World Tag Champs: Beer Money via pinfall
(Since Im not going to rate the show or do a Match of the Night Ill just rate this match. Very good tag match between two of the better tag teams in the world. Didnt like the finish but Beer Money needed to go over and L.A.X. has gotten Singles Title shots in their futures. Really good match though ***1/2)

MANCHESTER, N.H. As 2008 came to a close, the Superstars in the Land of the Extreme made their final bold statements as 2009 and the Royal Rumble loom on the horizon.

The Miz & John Morrison def. Finlay & The Boogeyman (Non-title, No Disqualification Match) (PHOTOS) Finlay came into the tag team encounter against the World Tag Team Champions hoping for some payback for a 2-on-1 attack he received earlier in the night on a live edition of The Dirt Sheet.
In an unlikely pairing, the Belfast Brawler had The Boogeyman at his side. The creepy Superstar from the Bottomless Pit saved Finlay once from getting pinned by Morrison. After the near pinfall, Finlay fought back, but could not prevent the Tuesday Night Delight from picking up a win for his team by pinning the Fighting Irishman. After the match, Finlay got some payback by dropping Morrison with a hard-hitting Celtic Cross.
Live edition of The Dirt Sheet The World Tag Team Champions kicked off ECW in the sold-out Verizon Wireless Arena with a special live edition of The Dirt Sheet. After reminding the WWE Universe of their two Slammy Awards as well as the World Tag Team and WWE Tag Team titles they won in 2008 the duo offered up their 2009 resolutions for fellow Superstars in typical Dirt Sheet style. ECW Champion Matt Hardy def. Mark Henry (DQ, Non-title Match) (PHOTOS) From the start, Mark Henry came at ECW Champion Matt Hardy with a powerful offense. It was clear that the Worlds Strongest Man wanted to end the year with a victory over his arch rival. But before Henry could finish off Hardy, Jack Swagger interfered in the bout, driving Hardy to the canvas with a vicious gutwrench powerbomb. The maneuver immediately resulted in a disqualification win for Hardy. Henry was not happy about how things ended, and let his emotions show by dropping the ECW Champion with a Worlds Strongest Slam after the match.
DJ Gabriel def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS) Making his first appearance on ECW, Paul Burchill was hoping for a strong showing. He did just that, delivering a good beating to DJ Gabriel. But just when it looked like Burchill was going to pick up the win, Gabriel turned the tables with a quick counter maneuver to get the pinfall over his fellow Superstar from Great Britain. The victory kept Gabriels undefeated streak alive.

I was in the arena most of the night (missed the first couple of segments on the ECW taping due to getting lost on the way to the arena, which we haven't been to since the last time WWE was there about 4 years ago), and thought I would pass on some notes.
When the Superfly theme hit, people actually thought it was the legend coming to the ring at first. I personally didn't figure it out until he got to the ring. My mother and I were seated in the section in the corner of the arena next to the stage (we were blocked by a curtain, and couldn't see people on the stage. But it did protect us from the heat of the pyrotecnics -- especially Kane's, which is super hot), so we saw him from behind when he entered the arena.
Before that match, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan came out to host the Kiss Cam.
Lillian Garcia, who looked absolutely amazing in that outfit in person, did not sing the National Anthem. She is now using the song she performed on RAW from her solo album as her entrance music. She promoted the Superstars t-shirt sold exclusively at the live events.
Yes, people. You actually heard Randy Orton, one of the top heels on the RAW Brand right now, actually getting cheered during the main event. People were chanting for the RKO.
There was very little reaction to the CM Punk match. The crowd was pretty dead for the match.
Mickie James possibly got the biggest pop for the Divas battle royal, which was pretty predictable.
When Shawn Michaels was teasing taking a dive for his new boss, JBL, fans were chanting "Don't do it!"
As soon as the Fatal Four-Way ended, people began to rush for the exits as Michaels knelt in the ring with his head bowed. People stopped in their tracks when John Cena's music hit and he came to the ring. He said something to Michaels, without using a microphone for the arena audience to hear him, and Michaels just slowly left the ring not saying a word. A few moments after Michaels went through the curtain covering the entrance to the Gorilla Position (which we could easily see from our seats), Jericho came out, and people came rushing back in. Apparently, 99% of the audience didn't pay attention to the TV promos for the show, as the match between the two, a Street Fight for the WWE World Title, was promoted in the promos on local TV leading up to the show.
Cena retained the title in the Street Fight against Jericho. Funniest moment of the match was when Jericho was attempting to toss the ring stairs into the ring from the arena floor. After finally getting the stairs over the top rope, after the third attempt, Jericho jumped up to the apron and jokingly flexed his muscles to the crowd.
At one point, Jericho went over to John Cena, Sr., who was seated in the front row, and got in his face. The elder Cena then began to tease taking off his jacket to fight with Jericho. For those in the northern Mass/southern NH area, if you didn't know, John Sr. is seen on the independent circuit in the area under his real name or as a heel manager named Johnny Fabulous. You can watch him as the Commisioner of the Millenium Wrestling Federation (under his real name) on BostonWrestling.com, and as Johnny Fabulous in promotions like Chaotic Wrestling.
Despite myself, and others reporting various TV guides (Comcast, DirectTV and another) promoting that the Rumble participants were going to be announced last night, it did not happen.
After the match, Cena took the mic to address the crowd. He mentioned that this was the final RAW of 2008, and that it was a rough year for him with all the injuries he sustained. He mentioned being from the area, and said that his "old man" (his words), friends from college and friends from high school were in attendence. He mentioned that his brother was there with his new wife (they were recently married). He also mentioned that the arena was sold out (legit sell out. My mother saw a guy being denied his request to be moved because the children he was with could not see. The gentleman was told that they would if they could, but he would have to upgrade to the next seating level. However, every seat in the place was sold out and he couldn't be moved.)
In regards to Kaz (Frankie Kazarian) suffering a biceps injury at the TNA Impact tapings two weeks ago in Orlando, The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter reports that his triceps were not fully healed and the injury occurred when he repelled off the platform while making his entrance as the Suicide character. Kaz was holding the safety loop with his left arm (which is the same arm he injured) and it tore as he went to use the zip line. His surgeon concluded that his triceps were not strong enough yet and his biceps were overcompensating which lead to the tear. The line many are giving about this situation is that it is another example of a wrestler coming back too early from an injury which is generally the recipe for suffering another injury.
Scott Steiner was recently interviewed by the Miami Herald and had some harsh words about former co-workers Triple H and Ric Flair.
Not only does Scott Steiner strongly dislike Triple H, but apparently Triple H has similar feelings towards Ric Flair these days. Steiner says the relationship between Hunter and Flair has soured with Hunter unable to stand Flair after Flair left the company earlier this year. "When I was up there, it was ridiculous. Flair was kissing Triple H's (expletive) so bad, carrying his bags to buildings. Now Triple H can't stand Ric Flair. To each his own."
Steiner also said why he thinks Flair left WWE. "There's a reason why Flair's not there anymore. It's not because he's retired. Flair's a piece of (expletive). I've been able to read people real good throughout my life. I knew Flair was a piece of (expletive), and Triple H was a piece of (expletive). It didn't take long to figure out."
Steiner also talks at length about why the Main Event Mafia is one of the top stables in pro wrestling history.

MANCHESTER, N.H. As Superstars prepare to say goodbye to 2008 and ring in the new year, tonights Raw was filled with enough noisemakers, countdowns and determined resolutions to make Times Square jealous. With Superstars jockeying for position in the Race to the Rumble, a few ended their year on a high note and more than a few left hoping for better days in 2009.

JBL def. Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels JBL has done it again. In a Fatal Four Way Match to determine who will face World Heavyweight Champion John Cena at the Royal Rumble, the Longhorn Loudmouth proved once again just how loudly money talks. Just as Jericho prepared to lock JBL into the Walls of Jericho, Michaels laid out the first ever Undisputed Champion with Sweet Chin Music. Next up, it was Orton who found himself on the receiving end of Sweet Chin Music. And then there were two: Employer and employee.
A conflicted Michaels pleaded with JBL not to make him lie down and lose the match. After several tense minutes, however, a torn HBK accepted his fate. Rather than lie down, though, Michaels asked JBL to give him a Clothesline from Hell. More than happy to oblige, JBL delivered and won the title opportunity at the Rumble.
The victory drives JBL another mile closer to what he covets more than anything else, the World Heavyweight Championship. While the Longhorn Loudmouth appears to be on a roll in the Race to the Rumble, once he arrives he has quite a roadblock awaiting him in the form of John Cena. (PHOTOS) (WATCH)

Manu In the third and final match for Randy Ortons group of multi-generation Superstars, Manu failed step one by dropping his match against ECW Champion Matt Hardy and jeopardizing his spot in the Legend Killers Legacy. When Manu looked for help from Cody Rhodes and Sim Snuka, however, the two turned their backs on the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa. (PHOTOS)
Kelly Kelly confronts Randy Orton about their romantic encounter Two weeks after fibbing to Kane about the identity of her secret lover, Kelly Kelly confronted her real secret romance Randy Orton! After listening to Kelly Kelly berate him for not calling her back, Orton told the beautiful blond that he didnt need her to protect him against Kane. He then blew her off by telling her that he didnt need any distractions while vying for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Melina wins Six-Diva Battle Royal; scuffles with Womens Champion Beth Phoenix & her No. 1 fan As Superstars continue to push the pedal in the Race to the Rumble, Melina took the checkered flag in a Six-Diva Battle Royal against Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea and Candice Michelle. The victory earns Melina an opportunity to face Womens Champion Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble. Undoubtedly revved-up to send a message, Phoenix initiated a shoving match with her opponent, who showed no signs of backing down. World Heavyweight Champion John Cena proposes a giant match for tonight to Stephanie McMahon Stephanie McMahon had wanted World Heavyweight Champion John Cena to perform commentary during tonights Fatal Four Way Elimination Match to see who will face him at the Royal Rumble, but The Champ had other plans. Cena proposed going out with a bang during the last Raw of 2008 and putting together a wild, giant match. Stephanie seemed to warm to the idea when Cena left.
Cody Rhodes def. CM Punk by count-out In the first match of the night, Cody Rhodes survived Randy Ortons win-or-youre-out-of-the-group ultimatum by defeating CM Punk by count-out. Rhodes passed Ortons step one after Intercontinental Champion William Regal, who will defend his title against Punk next week, distracted Punk allowing Rhodes to sneak into the ring under the count of 10. After the match, Punk took his frustration out on Rhodes, anyway. That is, until Regal sent Punk a message with well-placed knee to the head. (PHOTOS)
Randy Orton lays out step one to Cody Rhodes, Sim Snuka and Manu In an ongoing quest to mold his disciples, Randy Orton informed Cody Rhodes, Sim Snuka and Manu that tonight they must complete their first test. Each man will compete in a singles match. Each man who wins will have completed step one, any man who loses will be out of his Legacy.
Rey Mysterio asks Shawn Michaels for a match; JBL says No; Mike Knox attacks Rey; John Cena runs in for the rescue After Shawn Michaels rescued JBL from a date with a 619 last week, Rey Mysterio arrived on Raw to demand satisfaction. The conquistador-who-leaves-em-wanting-more asked HBK for a match, with the winner moving on to compete in tonights Fatal Four Way Elimination Match featuring Michaels, JBL, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. The winner of that match will face off against World Heavyweight Champion John Cena in a title bout at the upcoming Royal Rumble. JBL, however, wouldnt hear of it.
Acting in his capacity as Michaels employer, the Longhorn Loudmouth told Rey no in no uncertain terms. The situation continued to get even more interesting as a maniacal Mike Knox steamrolled through the audience and attacked Rey. As Michaels followed JBL up the entrance ramp, forced by Layfield to leave Rey to fend for himself, Cena ran in and helped out his amigo. (PHOTOS)
The official story being given out by Chynas management is that she made an error with a medication that was recently prescribed to her by mixing it with alcohol, causing her to black out while celebrating her birthday and falling into a mirror, which is why she fell into her mirrored closet doors, shattering them and cutting herself. Her management also claimed she was never admitted to the hospital and was released from the ER. However, a source close to the situation has claimed Chyna is indeed hospitalized and will be canceling all upcoming appearances as shell be going to a specialized rehab center in Texas shortly and will be focusing on her health. The story behind her relapse after 10 months was that she had let a prescription lapse and fell into a depression after several weeks.
WWE.com has released a statement confirming WWE Divas Champion Maryse's injury at a house show in Raleigh, North Carolina last night. According to their report, she dislocated her kneecap. It remains unclear as to how long she will be out of action.

Ronnie William Arniell (born February 19, 1981), better known by his ring name as Shawn Spears, is a Canadian professional wrestler, currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment under its ECW brand where wrestles under the name Gavin Spears.
Early life
Born and raised in St.Catharines, Ontario Canada, Ronnie was an avid hockey lover, but eventually chose wrestling over hockey as a child.
Already a licensed casino dealer in Canada, Ronnie moved to Cambridge to try his hand at wrestling. In 2001, he made his decision to study wrestling with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling wrestler Showtime Eric Young (Jeremy Fritz) at the Wrestleplex training school.
The tattoo on his left shoulder was originally a replica of the brahma bull tattoo worn by The Rock in the same location.
Career
Ronnies first match was in March 2002. Since then, Ronnie has wrestled for some of the biggest independent wrestling promotions throughout Ontario and the United States, including Neo Spirit Pro (NSP), Border City Wrestling (BCW), World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW), Empire State Wrestling (ESW), Canadian Independent Championship Wrestling (CIWA), and New Vision Pro (NVPW), Pure Wrestling Association (PWA), Great Canadian Wrestling (GCW), Adrenaline Live Wrestling (ALW), Blood, Sweat & Ears and various other promotions. In February 2005, Ronnie got his first taste of the WWE when he wrestled a tag team match against Rosey and The Hurricane on an edition of WWE HEAT.
On January 21, 2006, he signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and reported to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He wrestled his last match in Ontario for Great Canadian Wrestling May 11, 2006, taking part in a three way dance for the GCW National title in a match also involving the GCW National Champion, Michael Elgin and TNA's Shark Boy.

Ohio Valley Wrestling
Arniell made his Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) TV debut as "The Canadian Sensation" Shawn Spears and picked up a win over then-SmackDown! superstar Simon Dean (Mike Bucci). Despite his victory, Dean beat up Spears after the match. Spears was then saved by Al Snow (Allen Sarven), who was then beat down with a chair by Dean. After his debut in OVW, Spears quickly made an impact by starting his OVW career with three wins and no losses. Spears was given his first loss by Aaron "The Idol" Stevens (Aaron Haddad) when Stevens made Spears submit after applying his new Downer Clutch finisher. After this, Spears formed a tag team with Cody Rhodes (Cody Runnels), the youngest son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes (Virgil Runnels Jr), and they feuded with The Throwbacks for the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship. On December 15, 2006, Spears and Runnels won the titles from The Throwbacks.
On March 17, 2007, Spears won the OVW Television Championship from Boris Alexiev. Afterwards, he became more focused and greedy on championship titles then anything, even trying to steal Runnels' OVW Heavyweight Championship title shot. This greediness started to peak after the team lost the OVW Tag Team Titles, leaving Spears with only his OVW TV Title. He would later deliver a piledriver to his former partner, preventing him from winning the OVW Heavyweight Championship, thus, finally turning heel. Spears lost the OVW Television Championship to Runnels on July 6, 2007, and won it back one week later. He once again lost the title on September 19 to the debuting Manbeast, who now goes under the name Ted "The Trailer" McNailer. Spears regained the TV Title, only to lose it to Colt Cabana, who he then went on to re-win the Tag Team titles with.
ECW brand
On the August 19 edition of ECW, Spears made his television debut as part of Theodore Long's talent initiative in a losing effort to Ricky Ortiz. He then was defeated on the September 2 edition by Super Crazy, but before the match he cut a promo claiming to be "the crown jewel of the talent initiative." He returned to ECW on the December 16th edition, after nearly 2 months of inactivity, and lost to Finlay.
Florida Championship Wrestling
After making his ECW debut, Spears debuted in WWE's development territory Florida Championship Wrestling and teamed up with Nic Nemeth to beat the The Puerto Rican Nightmares for the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship.
According to several fans in attendance at tonight's SmackDown brand house show in Raleigh, North Carolina, reigning WWE Divas Champion Maryse suffered a traumatic injury during her match.
Maryse and Natalya were wrestling The Bella Twins in the third match on the show. As Maryse worked one of the twins over in the corner, she suddenly collapsed to the mat. She appeared to have blown out her knee as she was seen clutching it.
What followed was an awkward scene in which Natalya stood on the apron not knowing what to do while The Bella Twins went around the ring playing up to the crowd. Special guest referee Kung Fu Naki stood over Maryse talking to her. The road agent for the match threw up the "X signal" and a number EMTs, referees and road agents hit the ringside area. Meanwhile, Natalya entered the ring and made one of the twins submit to the sharpshooter to put an end to the match. Maryse was then carted off on a stretcher.
This is a horrible break for Maryse as she beat Michelle McCool just last week to become the new WWE Divas Champion. It goes without saying that she'll be forced to relinquish her newly won title and take several months off due to the injury as well.
In case you havent noticed, Candice Michelle hasnt wrestled on RAW in over a month. Her last in-ring appearance took place on 11/24 in a six-diva tag match. Shes made subsequent appearances since then, but nothing too important. Its also interesting to note that shes wrestled in a grand total of two singles matches on television since her return from injury at the start of September. It would appear that her push ended at the No Mercy pay-per-view following her loss to WWE Womens Champion Beth Phoenix. Since then, all of the focus has been taken off of her, and shes only been used in a wrestling capacity as a throw-in for Diva tag matches.
Candice posted a blog on the WWE Universe site talking about her standing in the organization, and apparently hinting that she lost her passion somewhere along the way which she has since found again.
RAW has the new me to look forward to at the new year! Candice wrote. I have found that fire and passion again, and without that youve lost the fight even before it has begun! She acknowledges her rough past year, but is looking forward to the new year so she can come back and become one of the top Divas again. Everyone knows Ive had a journey and even coming back has been a new chapter of learning for me! Candice wrote. Ive gone back to my roots of having faith. Its hard to get over in the WWE but its even harder to get back over again!
- Reports from the show in Charlotte on Friday indicate that Maria may be injured. She and Michelle McCool interfered in a tag match between the Bella Twins vs. Natalya & Maryse. Maria had to be taken to the back by medics and it looked as if she injured her shoulder. Fans in attendance noted that it took up too much time for it to just be an injury angle they were shooting.

She also talks about her gymnastic background, a WWE Diva calling her the hardest-hitting Diva in the locker room, which WWE Superstar taught her the most, and more.
Former WWE Diva Joanie "Chyna" Laurer was rushed to a local hospital at 5:00 a.m. yesterday morning after friends found her passed out at her 38th birthday party in her home in Burbank, California. In an update on the situation, according to one source close to the former WWE Women's Champion, it is believed that Laurer mixed an entire bottle of prescription pills and vodka, adding to the belief she may have attempted suicide. Laurer is currently being held at the hospital she was rushed to pending a mental evaluation. Laurer's manager, Mike Esterman told those who asked that she will be checking into rehab once she is released from the hospital.
Batista's surgery yesterday was successful and he will begin physical therapy tomorrow, according to WWE.com. The surgery repaired a partial torn ligament in Batista's hamstring.

-- TNA officials are giving the the "Feast or Fired" gimmick a lot of credit for drawing Impact's record audience on 12/4. It's pretty much a guarantee it will be become an annual tradition and pushed as a bigger deal next year. Also, TNA has plans to play off the briefcase winners similar to WWE's "Money in the Bank" stips in the future in that the winner will have one year to collect and get their title match any time they choose.
