Backstage News On Maryse's Release, Playboy?

Backstage News On Maryse's Release, Playboy?
Posted by Dave Mitchell on 11/02/2011 at 10:42 PM

Former WWE diva Maryse was released from the company on October 28th, a move that was a surprise to many backstage.

As to whether the decision was hers or WWE, a WWE source indicates that it was mutual. Maryse was already looking beyond WWE at getting back into modeling and possibly even posing for Playboy, but it was WWE that made the call to release her. Because the company did not see any issues with her going to TNA (like Gail Kim), they did not have as much of an issue letting her go.

Prior to her getting injured (and undergoing surgery to correct an abdominal hernia), there were plans to start an angle where Hornswoggle had the hots for her.

She was medically cleared to return several weeks ago and she was telling people that she was about to be brought back to television.

She is still dating Miz and currently resides in Southern California.

Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes vs. Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston with the CM Punk and John Laurinaitis segment lost 59,000 viewers. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show and CM Punk coming out gained 193,000 viewers, a bad number for the 10pm timeslot.

The Triple H vs. Kevin Nash highlight video, Michael Cole's rant on Jim Ross and The Muppets segment with Miss Piggy, Kermit, Hornswoggle and John Morrison gained 20,000 viewers. The main event of John Cena vs. The Miz with R-Truth's interference gained 516,000 viewers, doing a 3.18 rating, which is lower than normal for an 11 minute overrun.

Possible reason why Evan Bourne was suspended

Possible reason why Evan Bourne was suspended
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 11/01/2011 at 12:43 PM

PWInsider.com reports that there is one belief among those in WWE that the recent amount of suspensions has to do with the company cracking down on the usage of synthetic marijuana.

Darren Young, Heath Slater, and Evan Bourne were all suspended in recent weeks. Official reasons for those suspensions have not been made public by WWE.

    John Cena def. The Miz

WWE Raw SuperShow results: It's time to meet The Muppets!

ATLANTA — On any other program, the sudden appearance of a talking frog and a pig who knows karate would seem bizarre. On WWE Raw SuperShow, it was just another part of a night that included a trick from R-Truth, a treat for CM Punk and a very Happy Halloween for John Cena.

John Cena def. The Miz (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Fired up after finding out that The Rock will team with him against The “Awesome Truth” at Survivor Series, John Cena gave The Awesome One a little taste of what to expect on Nov. 20. Smashing The Miz in the same city where they clashed at WrestleMania XXVII, the Cenation leader was almost stopped by a fan dressed as Ghostface from the Scream movies. As it turned out the attacker was actually R-Truth who got a taste of Cena’s rage before the West Newbury, Mass., native put Miz away with the STF. The powerful Superstar then nailed Truth with an Attitude Adjustment to make it one unhappy Halloween for The "Awesome Truth."

Miss Piggy beat up Hornswoggle (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Hornswoggle sure picked a bad time to meet The Muppets. The little leprechaun is such a huge fan of the colorful puppets that he has nearly the whole group tattooed on his ankle, (PHOTOS) so he should have known better than to interrupt Miss Piggy in the presence of a handsome man. Ruining the moody porker’s chances with the abdominally inclined John Morrison, Hornswoggle stole a kiss from the pig and ended up getting nailed with a karate chop he won’t soon forget.

Michael Cole postponed “The Michael Cole Challenge” (WATCH)
If there’s one thing Michael Cole is good at, it's beating a dead horse. After daring Jim Ross to face him in a “Michael Cole Challenge” last week, the sniveling announcer revealed that the competition will have to wait until next Monday, because J.R. was out of action with inflammatory bowel disease. Let’s just hope Good Ol’ J.R. shows up to shut this worm’s mouth once and for all.

Zack Ryder def. United States Champion Dolph Ziggler in a Title-Free Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Moments after his associate Jack Swagger was defeated by Santino Marella thanks to a little help from The Muppets, Dolph Ziggler suffered a similar fate when he was beaten by Zack Ryder. Luckily for the United States Champion, his title wasn’t on the line, but he’ll think twice before he messes with Gonzo again. (WATCH)

Santino Marella def. Jack Swagger (WATCH | PHOTOS)
We’re not sure if it was the furry body or the strange accent, but something gave Santino Marella a serious kinship with The Muppets. With Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy watching from the entrance ramp and Animal sitting in as special guest timekeeper, the Italian Superstar scored a big victory over The All-American American when Beaker slipped Santino a mysterious potion, which The Milan Miracle used to blind Swagger and grab the win.

Big Show def. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio in a Title-Free Match; Del Rio vs. Punk set for Survivor Series (WATCH | PHOTOS)
It looks like Alberto Del Rio will be defending his WWE Title against CM Punk after all. After being knocked out cold by Big Show’s mighty fist, The Mexican Aristocrat awoke to find himself in the wrenching agony of The Straight Edge Superstar’s Anaconda Vise.

With no choice but to agree to Punk’s demands for a WWE Title Match at Survivor Series or risk having his arm broken, Del Rio consented and the bout became official. Now that’s what you call hostile negotiations. (WATCH)

Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Wade Barrett def. WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom in a Title-Free Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Wade Barrett continued to breathe new life into his career tonight as he teamed with the sinister Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes to defeat the WWE Tag Team Champions. Not content just to claim the victory, the SmackDown villains laid waste to Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston after the bell with some help from the underhanded Christian. The trio’s beating may have caused some serious damage if it wasn’t for the last minute heroism of a very aggressive Sheamus.

Sheamus came face-to-face with Beaker (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Ever notice how much Sheamus looks like Beaker from The Muppets? It turns out it’s not just a passing resemblance. When The Celtic Warrior stopped Christian from bothering Beaker and Bunsen as they prepped their latest science experiment, he gave his puppet doppelganger a knowing nod before adding, “I’m afraid I can’t make it to the family reunion this year.”

Eve won a No. 1 Contender’s Diva Halloween Costume Battle Royal (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Not to be overshadowed by The Muppets, the gorgeous Divas slipped into their sexiest Halloween costumes and rumbled in a Battle Royal to determine who would be the next competitor to challenge Beth Phoenix for the Divas Championship.(WATCH: DIVAS DISCUSS THEIR COSTUMES)

Showing how determined these women are to capture that title, every Diva fought hard, but the brawl came down to Eve, Alicia Fox, Kelly Kelly and Natalya. Putting partnerships aside, the four Divas collided in the ring, but when the smoke cleared, Eve was the only one standing.

The WWE Universe met The Muppets (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Leave it to Vickie Guerrero to ruin a good time. As soon as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy had a chance to meet the WWE Universe, the talking animals were interrupted by a cougar. Getting into a oinking match with Miss Piggy while Jack Swagger threatened Kermie, Vickie was finally silenced by Santino Marella who revealed that he will face The All-American American tonight while Zack Ryder locks up with United States Champion Dolph Ziggler.

World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry def. CM Punk by Disqualification (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In a bout set by Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis on WWE.com, CM Punk had to defeat The World’s Strongest Man if he wanted to face Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Title at Survivor Series.

It was a massive undertaking, but one The Straight Edge Superstar was more than willing to accept. That was until Del Rio’s flunky, Ricardo Rodriguez, hit the ring and jumped on Henry’s back, leading the official to award the bout to the World Heavyweight Champion via disqualification. Clearly, The Mexican Aristocrat wants nothing to do with Punk.

The Rock accepted John Cena’s offer (WATCH)
Finally, The Rock has come back to Survivor Series! Seven days after John Cena invited The Great One to team with him against The Miz & R-Truth at the same event where Rock made his WWE debut, The People’s Champion appeared via satellite to accept the Cenation leader's offer. Admitting that an outpouring of support from the WWE Universe helped sway his decision, The Brahma Bull revealed that he's ready to whoop The "Awesome Truth" on Nov. 20. And with that, the most charismatic tag team in WWE history is born. (MATCH PREVIEW)

If that wasn't enough, it was announced that The Great One will return to WWE Raw SuperShow on Nov. 14 for a live three-hour special when Raw gets Rocked! (WATCH)

Lucha Libre Wrestler Says He Is Close To Signing With TNA
Lucha Libre blog R De Rudo recently caught up with Low Rider who is an American wrestler of Mexican descent currently wrestling in the Mexican Independent circuit. In the video interview, Low Rider speaks about his dark match against Amazing Red some time ago, admitting that he has copied some of Red's moves in the past. Low Rider also tells a hilarious story about how he was scared to death of the pyro work in TNA just prior to the start of Impact Wrestling. He also claims that TNA Star Hernandez brought up his name to TNA Executives and also taught him to wrestle. He ends the interview stating that he is very close to signing with TNA and does have high hopes.

Some sites are already reporting that Low Rider has signed with TNA. There is more evidence that some other sites have simply copied and pasted quick segments of the R De Rudo interview and as of this writing, he has not signed a contract.

    MATCH RESULTS

The Miz & R-Truth def. WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom
    Wade Barrett def. Trent Barreta
Randy Orton def. United States Champion Dolph Ziggler
    Daniel Bryan def. Tyson Kidd
    CM Punk def. Christian

HOUSTON – In the wake of GM Theodore Long's orchestration of a SuperSmackDown – CM Punk journeyed from Raw to overcome Christian in an intense match-up that was full of surprises. Also, “Awesome Truth” conquered the WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom, while World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and Big Show demonstrated that they still have a “huge” problem between them.

CM Punk def. Christian (WATCH | PHOTOS)
As CM Punk looked ready to put Christian away with the GTS, WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio suddenly emerged – distracting The Second City Saint long enough for his crafty opponent to regain the advantage.

The disruption from The Mexican Aristocrat did not stop there. Later in the match– as his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez jumped up on the ring apron to take the referee’s attention – Del Rio pushed Punk off the top rope. Christian seized the moment, poised to hit the spear on his war-torn foe. However, before he could, Sheamus charged to the ring to even the odds.

Although The Celtic Warrior did not enter the ring or physically interfere with the bout, his presence caused Christian to take his eye off the ball, giving Punk the opening he needed to finish him with the GTS.

World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and Big Show met for the first time since Vengeance (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Just five days after the World Heavyweight Title Match between Mark Henry and Big Show resulted in a collapsed ring at Vengeance (WATCH | PHOTOS), The World’s Largest Athlete was ready for more. Henry soon interrupted the giant, denying him any possibility of a rematch, before threatening to get in the ring and finish the job right then and there.

Although Big Show raised his fists for the confrontation, The World’s Strongest Champion decided not to cross through the ropes.

Daniel Bryan def. Tyson Kidd (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Daniel Bryan once trained with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. While Tyson Kidd was the last graduate of the famous Hart Family Dungeon, training with Hall of Famer Bret Hart.

An argument between the two former pupils over the release of “Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels: WWE’s Greatest Rivalries” DVD  (WWE Shop) resulted in a match between them – in which Mr. Money in the Bank reversed the Sharpshooter to defeat Kidd with the LeBell Lock. More on the Hart/HBK rivalry

Hunico revealed his face and his intentions (WATCH)
After being unmasked by Sin Cara (Azul) one week ago, Sin Cara (Negro) showed his face to the WWE Universe, identifying himself Hunico.

Randy Orton def. United States Champion Dolph Ziggler (WATCH | PHOTOS)
While Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes sat in with the announce team, his adversary Randy Orton had his hands full in a hard-fought match-up with Dolph Ziggler – with Jack Swagger banned from ringside. This included an earth-shattering superkick by the bleach blond Superstar that nearly earned him the pinfall. But, in the end, The Viper found a way to strike the final blow, hitting the United States Champion with the RKO.

Wade Barrett def. Trent Barreta (WATCH | PHOTOS)
The self-initiated “Barrett Barrage” by English Superstar Wade Barrett roared on, with a triumph over Trent Barreta. After punishing his determined opponent with his well-documented arsenal, he finished him off with Wasteland.

The Miz & R-Truth def. WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In the culmination of a whirlwind match against the WWE Tag Team Champions, “Awesome Truth” hit Kofi Kingston for their explosive Little Jimmy Finale for the huge victory.

Following the match, The Miz and R-Truth addressed John Cena’s invitation to The Rock to be his tag team partner against them at Survivor Series. The outspoken duo made it clear that if The Great One does accept and the two charismatic Superstars don’t destroy each other first, they would finish the job.

GM Theodore Long made a Christian vs. CM Punk main event (PHOTOS)
While Christian was trying to convince Teddy Long to give him “one more match” for the World Heavyweight Championship, Raw’s CM Punk and his Pipebomb Microphone decided to join the conversation – igniting a war of words between the two Superstars. After openly bashing Raw’s Interm Raw GM John Laurinaitis, The Second City Saint – backed by an approving WWE Universe – suggested he and Christian battle it out. Teddy Long concurred, making the match official for the main event.

WWE bringing back the hardcore title?

WWE bringing back the hardcore title?
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 10/27/2011 at 06:33 PM

WWE's website has an article up where they're pushing for the return of the Hardcore Title, after Cody Rhodes recently brought back the classic white Intercontinental Title. Here's part of their hype:

"If the Hardcore Title ever does make a comeback, alliances will crumble and insanity will rule in its place, with an iron fist stronger than any potential Raw General Manager could ever dream of wielding. Whoever will place it around their waist will instantly be painting a target on their back. Everybody will be their enemy. Big, small, Superstar, Diva: all will be potential challengers, ready to pounce to win their own piece of glory.

WWE.com says: Bring back Hardcore havoc!"

According to Prowrestling.net, Thursday's Impact Wrestling drew a 1.14 rating, down from last week's 1.35 rating. Viewership was down to 1.5 million from the record two million plus from the week before.

Q1: Impact opened with a 1.30 rating (compared to a 1.38 rating last week) for James Storm's opening talking segment and appearances by Fortune, Samoa Joe, and Sting setting the stage for the main event. (up 9.7% vs. 2011-Q1 average)

Q2: Impact dropped one-tenth of a rating to a 1.20 rating for Christopher Daniels vs. Rob Van Dam and one commercial break. (up 3.2% vs. 2011-Q2 average)

Q3: Impact maintained the same 1.20 rating for a Knockouts talking segment and Gail Kim vs. Tara in Gail's TNA in-ring return. There was also one-half of a commercial. (up 2.7% vs. 2011-Q3 average)

Q4: Impact slipped to a 1.14 rating for Eric Young vs. Robbie E. for the TV Title, backstage segments, and one-and-a-half commercial breaks. (up 1.2% vs. 2011 Q4-average)

Q5: Impact was flat compared to Q4 with a 1.15 rating featuring the Bischoffs in the ring for a father-son chat, plus one commercial break. On the year, Impact has averaged an increase of one-tenth of a rating from Q4 to Q5.

This segment was up against the start of MTV's "Beavis and Butthead" return at 10:00 p.m. EST, which likely joined the World Series Game 6 in pushing down Impact's audience level for the remainder of the second hour. (down 7.0% vs. 2011-Q5 average)

Q6: Impact dropped one-tenth of a ratings point to a 1.05 for Flair and Bischoff backstage, video packages, the first-half of Jeff Hardy's in-ring return against Bully Ray, and one commercial. (down 9.9% vs. 2011-Q6 average)

Q7: Impact dropped to a show-low 1.01 rating for the second-half of Hardy's in-ring return, a post-match interview, one full commercial, and ring introductions for the Roode vs. Joe main event. (down 12.0% vs. 2011-Q7 average)

Q8: Impact increased slightly to a 1.06 rating for the Roode vs. Joe main event, one commercial break, and the show-concluding angle with the Bischoffs and Flair in the ring again. (down 11.3% vs. 2011-Q8 average)
