SmackDown results: Teddy Long key holder to the WWE Universe? By: Mitch Passero October 7, 2011 Tags: SmackDown, SmackDown: October 7, 2011 BILOXI, Miss. The one-year anniversary of SmackDown on Syfy (MORE) included the return of an angry Big Show, more reactions surrounding the Raw walkout, and a message from the EVP of Talent Relations about the importance of maintaining order on Friday nights.
Big Show returned and chokeslammed Mark Henry (WATCH | PHOTOS) After Mark Henry sidelined Big Show for four months by fracturing his leg in a steel chair, Show returned and he was pissed! After his demand for a World Title Match was denied by Henry, The Worlds Largest Athlete went berserk, charged to the ring and unloaded on Henry with massive punches. Even a slew of WWE security personnel could not stop the onslaught.
After pushing his way through security in the ring, Show viciously speared Henry, then brutalized an entire ring full of security. When Henry tried to walk off with his title during the melee, The Worlds Largest Athlete chased him down.
At first it looked as if Henry was going to win the fight when he slammed Show into the ringside barrier. But The Worlds Largest Athlete battled back and chokeslammed the champion through the announce table in a dramatic show of strength.
With Henry dazed and vulnerable, Show was prepared to inflict the exact same punishment that Henry used to put him out of commission. With the champions leg entangled in a steel chair, Show was ready leap on top of him from the steel ring steps. But just in the nick of time, Henry was spared when GM Teddy Long emerged to calm the angry giant by agreeing to give him what he wanted a World Championship Match as long as he did not leap on Henry. Show heeded the GMs orders, but still blasted The Worlds Strongest Man in the back with a steel chair for good measure. When will we see these two titans clash?
Randy Orton & Sheamus def. Christian & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes (WATCH | PHOTOS) The powerhouse duo of Randy Orton and Sheamus proved too much to handle for Christian and Cody Rhodes. After The Celtic Warrior worked over Rhodes pretty good, he tossed Christian from the ring. Next, The Viper took over and dispatched of Rhodes with a debilitating RKO for the win.
Hornswoggle returned to SmackDown (WATCH | PHOTOS) After making his return, Hornswoggle convinced Booker T to get in the ring and do a Spin-a-Roonie for the WWE Universe.
WWE EVP of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis said SmackDowns success is vital (WATCH) In a meeting with Teddy Long, WWE EVP John Laurinaitis expressed his support for Long and explained the importance of what happens on Friday nights. If you lose control of SmackDown like Triple H lost control of Raw, the entire WWE Universe is going to be in turmoil, he said.
Ezekiel Jackson def. Jinder Mahal (WATCH | PHOTOS) Former Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson absolutely manhandled Jinder Mahal. After brutally slamming Mahal to the canvas four consecutive times, Jackson made him tap out after a painful session in the Torture Rack.
Randy Orton explained why he didnt walk out on Raw (WATCH) In an interview with Matt Striker, Randy Orton said he wont beg like Christian for one more World Title match. If I have to tear through the entire SmackDown roster in order to have another championship match, then Im all for it, he said. And not willing to lump himself in with the other Superstars who participated in the Raw walkout, The Viper said If I have a problem with Triple H, Ill deal with Triple H personally.
Big Show demanded a World Title opportunity (PHOTOS) After making an emotional comeback in front of the WWE Universe, Big Show threatened to repeatedly punch Mark Henry in the head and take the World Heavyweight Championship from him. After Show called Henry out, the champion obliged and emerged at the top of the ramp to say hell let Show know when and if he gets a match with Henry. Furious, The Worlds Largest Athlete retorted by saying hed put Henry through the announce table and break his ankle with a steel chair if he didnt get the answer he wanted by the end of the night.
Divas Champion Beth Phoenix def. Alicia Fox (WATCH | PHOTOS) In a decisive and impressive victory, newly crowned Divas Champion Beth Phoenix made quick work of Alicia Fox, trouncing the smaller Diva with the Glam Slam. Afterward, Natalya locked Fox in a painful submission hold, while Phoenix forced her to cry out in pain over the mic.
Jack Swagger & United States Champion Dolph Ziggler def. WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne in a Non-Title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS) As the WWE Tag Team Champions approached the ring, they were viciously attacked from behind by Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. When the match eventually got started, Kingston came out swinging with an emotional offense. However, the champions never seemed to be able to recover from the initial assault. In the end, Swagger planted Bourne into the canvas with the Gutwrench Powerbomb for the win. Afterward, Vickie Guerrero came to the ring to help celebrate the victory.
The WWE Tag Team Champions vowed not to appear on Raw (WATCH) In an interview with Matt Striker, WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne spoke about the Raw walkout. Although they felt things might not entirely be Triple Hs fault until he steps down from running Raw Air Boom declared they will only be appearing on SmackDown.
Booker T and Michael Cole clarified their position on the Raw walkout Michael Cole said he walked on Raw about because Triple Hs ego has been out of control and he hasnt been listening to peoples grievances. On the other hand, Booker T said he is neutral about the situation and only walked out on Raw because he needed to use the bathroom.
WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio def. Sin Cara Azul (WATCH | PHOTOS) After earning the right to be called Sin Cara at WWE Hell in a Cell, The Mexican Sensation tangled with fellow Mexican Superstar, WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio for the first time ever. Despite a valiant effort, Sin Cara Azul was forced to tap out to Del Rios cross armbreaker. After the match, Sin Cara Negro charged to the ring and attacked Sin Cara Azul, leaving him writhing in pain after a leap from the top rope. Despite what went down at WWE Hell in a Cell, clearly there is unfinished business between the two masked Superstars. (MORE on the two Sin Caras)
The Raw walkout will continue (WATCH | PHOTOS) The night started with a group of Superstars explaining why they walked out on Raw, citing an unsafe work environment. David Otunga went as far as saying they are also prepared to walk out of SmackDown, unless Triple H steps down from running day-to-day operations. The last to speak for the group was Del Rio, who said he inspired everyone to walk out on Raw. The WWE Champion then declared that none of them will appear on Raw again until Triple H steps down from running Raw, and that hes eager to compete on SmackDown. Hearing enough, Teddy Long emerged and ended all the talk by announcing two matches for the night: the tag team main event, as well as Del Rio vs. Sin Cara. Update on The Great Khali's WWE status Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 10/04/2011 at 10:31 AM
Credit: PWInsider.com
As noted before, WWE has written The Great Khali out of the storylines by announcing that he suffered a fractured fibula at the hands of World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry.
Word going around at Hell in a Cell was that The Great Khali is done with WWE and it will be a long time until he returns as an active wrestler, if ever. Khali's deal is expiring and will not be returning anytime soon.
The feeling among some of the WWE writers and wrestlers is that Khali's run with WWE is finished up so he's headed back to India to focus on acting. The talk is that Khali, a one-time World Heavyweight Champion, will maintain a relationship with WWE to possibly work on WWE Studios projects and other things.

WWE Raw SuperShow results: Superstars, employees unite against Triple H By: James Wortman October 3, 2011 Tags: Raw, WWE Raw SuperShow: October 3, 2011 LAFAYETTE, La. WWE Hell in a Cell ended on a sour note for WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H, but the controversial occurrences just one night later on WWE Raw SuperShow threatened both The King of Kings career and the very future of WWE.
Superstars vote no confidence in WWE COO Triple H (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS) Although Triple H has never been all that interested in making friends, his allies were truly few and far between during an emotionally charged vote of no confidence in his leadership ability. While not legally binding, this means that The Game is not fit to lead the company and must, essentially, either appoint a new COO or resign from his post.
Following a voicing of grievances from the likes of Wade Barrett, referee Mike Chioda, WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and recently injured WWE Hall of Fame commentator Jerry The King Lawler, Superstars, Divas, referees, broadcasters and cameramen alike walked up the ramp in protest of the COO. Lawlers longtime broadcast partner and fellow Hall of Famer Jim Ross who coined Triple Hs Cerebral Assassin moniker was the last to make his exit, leaving the COO alone in the middle of the ring.
John Laurinaitis appeared on the entrance ramp, and it seemed as though the EVP of Talent Relations would offer his fellow WWE executive some form of consolation. Instead, he merely shook his head and left The Game to ponder what had just transpired.
John Cena, CM Punk, Sheamus, WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom & Mason Ryan def. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & David Otunga (WATCH | PHOTOS) Enemies collided and rivalries were reborn in this massive 12-man tag team main event, scheduled earlier in the night by Triple H. Immensely proud of his tainted WWE Title win on Sunday, Alberto Del Rio once again took the fight to his Hell in a Cell opponents John Cena and CM Punk, who led the charge against The Mexican Aristocrat and a veritable whos who of WWEs most devious competitors.
In the end, The Great White Sheamus who soundly defeated Christian one night early scored a victory for his team with a well-timed Brogue Kick to U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler.
Santino Marella def. Jinder Mahal (WATCH | PHOTOS) It seems as though Santino Marellas car accident-incurred shoulder injury gave him plenty of downtime to study foreign languages. After interrupting Jinder Mahal in his native Punjabi tongue (or at least his unique version of it), The Italian Stallion bested the vicious and mysterious SmackDown Superstar, securing an incredible upset victory with the Cobra Strike. Welcome back, Santino!
Divas Champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya def. Kelly Kelly & Eve by Disqualification; Triple H agreed to hold vote of confidence (WATCH | PHOTOS) No longer in possession of the Divas Title, Kelly Kelly nevertheless maintains the fiery fighting spirit that made her a champion in the first place. One night after Beth Phoenix pinned the blonde beauty to attain her first-ever Divas Championship, Kelly Kelly teamed up with Eve to battle the pin-up strong duo of The Glamazon & Natalya. Surprisingly, the bout ended in a disqualification when the former titleholder repeatedly smashed Beths face into the announce table at ringside.
After the match, John Laurinaitis had an intense confrontation with Triple H, advising the COO to invite all Superstars to the ring later in the night for a vote of confidence in his leadership abilities. The Game agreed, grabbing Laurinaitis by the tie and sternly warning him to be there when it goes down. (WATCH)
A coalition of Superstars threatened legal action against Triple H (WATCH | PHOTOS) Former Superstars The Miz and R-Truth were taken away in handcuffs after assaulting John Cena, CM Punk, newly crowned WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio and several WWE officials and cameramen at WWE Hell in a Cell, but their arrest hasnt deterred them from tormenting Triple H. The pair filed assault charges against the COO Monday morning after he pummeled them while they were handcuffed by police, and WWEs EVP of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis seemed confident that Harvard-educated legal guru David Otunga was responsible for the litigation. Otunga evaded Laurinaitis accusatory questioning, but nevertheless validated the former Superstars grievances. (WATCH MIZ AND TRUTHS ATTACK | YOUTUBE EXPLANATION)
At the urging of Vickie Guerrero, a somber Del Rio, Christian, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler presented their case to the WWE Universe, while Otunga encouraged all Superstars to contemplate legal action against Triple H for creating an unsafe working environment.
The groups complaints didnt sit well with the COO, who refused to dignify the legal threats. Instead, he reminded Del Rio, Christian, Rhodes, Swagger, Ziggler and Otunga that theyre in WWE to compete not complain and would participate in a 12-Man Tag Team Match against WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom, Mason Ryan, Sheamus, CM Punk and John Cena!
World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry def. John Morrison, called out Big Show (WATCH | PHOTOS) Its never wise to taunt a giant, but who are we to question the actions of the ravenous Mark Henry? After kicking out of Starship Pain and putting away John Morrison with a Worlds Strongest Slam, the World Heavyweight Champion then further punished The Prince of Parkour and issued a strongly worded challenge to Big Show, who is returning to SmackDown this Friday.
The Worlds Largest Athlete was inducted into Henrys Hall of Pain back in July, suffering a distal fracture of the fibula when The Worlds Strongest Athlete crushed his leg with a steel chair. What will happen when these two behemoths cross paths for the first time since that heinous attack?
Randy Orton def. Drew McIntyre; World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry brawled with The Viper (WATCH | PHOTOS) Still recovering from his brutal Hell in a Cell defeat at the hands of World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry less than 24 hours earlier, an enraged Randy Orton wasnt about to go easy on his latest prey, Drew McIntyre. The Viper sunk his fangs into the once-proclaimed Chosen One with a venomous RKO plus another one after the match but The Worlds Strongest Man ensured that any and all victory celebrations on Ortons part were kept to a minimum.
Flaunting the illustrious prize that evaded Orton inside Satans Structure, Henry sparked an all-out brawl with WWEs Apex Predator that took several security officers and even WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis to separate. The Viper finally ceased his attack, but not before sending Henry flying over the ringside barrier and onto the concrete floor of the Cajundome.
- WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd took a shot at the Sin Cara match from WWE's Hell in a Cell last night. He wrote: "Best part about being either Sin Cara? Having the mask means you don't have to show your face after that performance."
