Jamie Noble wrestled WWE developmental talent Jake Hagar in a dark match prior to last night's SmackDown/ECW taping in Pittsburgh. Noble got hurt following a belly-to-belly suplex as he landed on his neck and upper shoulders. Hagar quickly pinned him and the match was over. It then took approximately three minutes for WWE personnel to get Noble to the backstage area.
Mr. Kennedy is scheduled for shoulder surgery this Friday, reports PWInsider.com. He is expected to miss four to six months after the procedure, which will be performed by Dr. Andrews. Kennedy injured his shoulder during a house show match with Shelton Benjamin earlier this month, and has been working lightly ever since. Kennedy was diagnosed with a torn labrum and damage to his rotator cuff. After two weeks of rehab and no progress, it was determined he would require surgery.
Tomko returned to TNA at the Impact tapings on Monday night in Orlando, FL. While exact details aren't known at this time, the belief is that since the IGF promotion cancelled its next show that he may have contacted TNA about coming in for more work.
It should be noted that Tomko has not signed a new contract with TNA and will likely be used on semi-regular basis. He was backstage at a WWE Smackdown/ECW taping in Atlanta on August 5, but apparently they didn't make a play to sign him to a new deal.

According to Dave Meltzer, Christian Cage's contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire before the year is over. Jason Powell is reporting that several WWE sources say that the door is open for Cage to return. With the current storylines on Smackdown, there is certainly a creative spot open for him to either reunite or feud with Edge. While he was burned out from his WWE schedule, he's said to be at an age (35) where he might want to try and get as much money as he can before his career winds down.
From the TNA side, Cage is said to be happy with his current pay and schedule. However, he has had some issues with TNA's creative team in the past. Scott DAmore, one of those creative team members who is good friends with Cage, just left the company recently. It's also hard to take Cage's word because when he left WWE in 2005, he told them that he wouldn't be going to TNA even though he had already made the deal.
While many feel he will probably stay with TNA, even Cage said himself "never say never" about a WWE return in his final interview after Taboo Tuesday.
An official statement regarding Mick Foley's departure from WWE will be released after September 1, 2008 from Gillespie Agency. Reports have been circulating on the internet that Foley will sign with TNA. According to a source, TNA has begun working on t-shirt and merchandise ideas for Mick Foley. This further indicates him signing with TNA.
If Foley does sign with the company, theyre handling the matter similar to when Kurt Angle was signed. Dixie Carter and her small circle were the only ones to know of the signing.
WWE developmental Diva Bri Bella made her WWE TV debut also tonight at the tapings. Bri teams with her twin sister Nicole in Florida Championship Wrestling as The Bella Twins.
John Cena loks to be out 2-4 months which is GREAT news for WWE. He didn't require fusion surgery, they just removed a fragment from his spinal cord that was blocking a nerve.

Hardy earns first bid In the first ECW Championship Scramble Qualifying Match of the night, Matt Hardy took on past ECW Champion John Morrison. Exhibiting great tenacity, Hardy pushed the Tuesday Night Delight to his limit in a back-and-forth battle, featuring multiple near pinfalls from both Superstars. In the end, though, Hardy was able to stop Morrisons signature Moonlight Drive to deliver a hard-hitting Twist of Fate and pick up the win. The victory gives Hardy an opportunity at the ECW Championship a title he has never held.
Singles success After enjoying tag team success with John Morrison, The Miz has been looking to make a mark on the singles scene. Tonight, he faced a formidable opponent in Evan Bourne, who has never been pinned on ECW. Using an aggressive offense, The Miz was able to prevent Bourne from engaging in his signature high-flying maneuvers. The strategy paid off for The Miz, who was able to stun the newcomer with a Reality Check and pinfall.
Battle of the former champions The third ECW Championship Scramble Qualifying Match of the night pitted Tommy Dreamer against Chavo Guerrero both former ECW Champions. The opportunity for championship gold doesn't come often, and both veterans knew that going into the match. In the end, it was the self-proclaimed Mexican Warrior who earned his chance for the title at Unforgiven by defeating the ECW Original with a Frog Splash.
Second chance Last week on SmackDown, United States Champion Shelton Benjamin defeated Finlay to qualify for the WWE Championship Scramble at Unforgiven. But tonight, Finlay received a second chance at gold when he faced Mike Knox in the final ECW Championship Scramble Qualifying Match. At odds for weeks, the two engaged in a knock-down, drag-out brawl.
In the end, though, it turned out to be Finlays son, Hornswoggle, who was the difference maker in the match. The pint-sized prankster handed his father a shillelagh, which the Belfast Brawler used to go after Knox. But Knox was able to fend off Finlay with a kick to the gut and prevent being clobbered. The ref took the shillelagh from Finlay, but Hornswoggle had a back-up plan a second shillelagh. This time, his father used it to take Knox out, and simultaneously earn the final spot in the ECW Championship Scramble at Unforgiven.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. For fans of the Chain Gang Commander, Raw carried with it sad news, as General Manager Mike Adamle announced that John Cena had sustained a herniated disk in his neck and would be out indefinitely, unable to participate in the first-ever World Heavyweight Championship Scramble at Unforgiven. Adamle did announce a replacement however: Rey Mysterio, who has been missing in recent months, due to a brutal attack by Kane, if the Big Red Monsters claims are to be believed.
Big Red mauling Attempting to exact revenge on Kane for his actions against the Master of the 619, Mysterios friend Batista competed against the Big Red Monster on Raw. When the two powerful Championship Scramble competitors squared off, the seven-footer made good on a claim from earlier in the program, when he promised to hurt Batista if The Animal tests him. Kane introduced a steel chair into the match, causing himself to be disqualified, but neither competitor stopped there, brutalizing one another with the unforgiving weapon. (WATCH)
JBL gets punked Monday night also saw World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk square off against his SummerSlam opponent, JBL. Punk proved his resiliency by defeating the self-proclaimed wrestling god, one of the four men hell face in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble at Unforgiven.
Eye for an eye Only a week after Chris Jericho punched HBKs wife in the mouth at SummerSlam, Shawn Michaels entered the ring to address both the first-ever Undisputed Champion and the WWE Universe. Though Jericho wasnt present, he communicated with HBK over the TitanTron. Putting aside his injuries and thoughts of retirement, Michaels challenged the unrepentant Superstar to an Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven, so that both men and WWE would be absolved of responsibility for what happens in the match. Bristling, the man formerly known as Y2J, accepted the challenge.
Put a price on gold World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase also received Unforgiven opponents on Raw this week. After defeating Jerry The King Lawler & Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the champions were accosted by Cryme Tyme, who sat comfortably amid the skybox area, holding the World Tag Team Titles they had stolen one week before. Shad & JTG challenged Rhodes & DiBiase to a match at Unforgiven that would give Cryme Tyme a chance to make their ownership of the World Tag Team Titles official, as well as give the champions an opportunity to win back their physical titles. Promising to beat WWEs Robbin Hoods, their multi-generational rivals eagerly accepted the Unforgiven match.
Lovers quarrel One-half of Glamarella, Womens Champion Beth Phoenix faced off against Kelly Kelly on Raw. In spite of The Glamazons size and strength advantage, Kelly Kelly managed to actually pin Beth while she was distracted by her beau, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella. Afterward, Santino tasted Phoenixs full fury as Beth attacked and chased the Italian Superstar from the ring.
Later, in a rematch for the Intercontinental Title, Santino defended his gold against Kofi Kingston. Afterward, Beth entered the ring, appearing to be angry at the Italian Superstar. The Glamazons heart melted, however, as she and Santino reconciled in the ring, with a pair of passionate kisses.
Sibling rivalry Making his in-ring debut on Raw was Primo Colon, the younger brother of Carlito. Early in the evening, he spoke with Adamle briefly, explaining to the GM that he doesnt much care for his sibling, believing himself to be his own man, and better than the cool Carlito. This rivalry was echoed during Primos match, where he competed against Charlie Haas, who had been dressed up to look like Carlito. Despite this unorthodox trick, Primo defeated Charlito, making his first Raw match a successful one. (WATCH)
Three-time WWE Champion John Cena will be out of action indefinitely with a herniated disk in his neck. Requiring surgery, this injury is the result of several Batista Bombs delivered by The Animal at SummerSlam.
According to WWEs Dr. Chris Amann, who reviewed the MRI results with Cena, the injury sustained by the Chain Gang Commander was considerably worse than originally thought with large disk herniation.
It needs to be dealt with because I lost most of the feeling in my right arm and am having pain in my shoulder, Cena told WWE.com. Im losing 20 percent of my strength per day. If I dont do anything about it, the injury will end up rupturing and then the surgery will be more difficult. Its not easy, because surgery never is.
Last year, Cena missed considerable time when he tore his pectoral muscle after receiving an RKO by Randy Orton on an announce table. He later made a remarkable return to the ring months ahead of schedule at the Royal Rumble this past January.
Its a different injury than the pectoral tear because that was more of a muscle injury; this is concerning my bones, which has a lot less blood flow than muscle tissue. It also has to do with my neck, which is a very fragile area, Cena described.
Every moment I stay away from the table is another moment something bad can happen. The disk is so bulged out and inflamed that any sudden move could make it worse.
But when it comes to the Chain Gang Commander, the pain associated with this type of injury is perhaps second only to the anguish of being forced away from sports-entertainment his home. Still, Cena recognizes what he needs to do, even if it means stepping away from the ring for some time.
You can either do one or two things: You can be upset or pout or you can know what to do to get better, Cena said. Im already in the mode of getting the surgery as quick as I can.
He continued, In the last ten months, Ive really focused on functional strength training and Im stronger than Ive ever been. My goal is to talk to the neurosurgeon about how quickly I can get back to full-throttle training and getting back into the ring. And thats the ultimate goal to be strong as I can and get back into the ring as soon as possible.

Mike Adamle announced on Raw that John Cena will be out of action "indefinitely" due to a herniated disc. As of yesterday, Cena was telling those close to him that he wasn't going to miss any ring time, but apparently he's received some serious news regarding the neck injury as he's been pulled from the Unforgiven pay per view and all other events until further notice.
Layla El has not been seen on television as of late due to the death of her mother. A friend of Layla updated her MySpace page regarding the situation. She wrote, "Her mother passed away unexpectedly and she's been out of the country dealing with everything."
"I wanted you all to be aware of what is going on and send out as much positive energy and prayer to help her get through this difficult time in her life. The WWE has really helpful and understanding with her taking a little time off right now but she will definitely be back in full force before September."[/
In regards to reports that Sid Vicious has signed a deal to return to WWE, while nothing can be confirmed at this point, source have stated that WWE's John Laurinaitis has been putting over Sid a lot lately in recent weeks and pushed it on creative. Representatives for Sid sent out an e-mail this week saying no deal has been done yet and that it is simply a rumor at this point.

QUAD CITIES, Ill. It was a night for seeking repentance and rising to the challenge as SmackDown stood witness to the return of Undertaker on Friday nights, and saw other Superstars looking for a new chance at championship gold.
As a result of The Phenom sending Edge to Hell at SummerSlam, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero underwent a dynamic attitude change, showing remorse for what she said was not the real her and blaming the Rated-R Superstar for all her past wrongdoing to WWE Superstars and the WWE Universe alike. She claimed that she was very excited about the return of Undertaker and hoped our fans would join her in giving him a standing ovation.
But, not everybody was ready to hear it. After reading a prepared statement and begging him for forgiveness on bended knee, the reemerging Deadman made it clear to Guerrero that forgiveness would not be granted when he decimated Chavo Guerrero, Bam Neely and WWE Tag Team Champions Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder.
Four chances at ultimate glory Earlier, before bedlam erupted around members of The Family, Guerrero made the announcement that throughout the evening, a series of qualifying matches would take place to find out which four Superstars would join WWE Champion Triple H in the first-ever WWE Championship Scramble Match at Unforgiven.
The Brian Kendrick was proclaimed the winner of the first qualifying match a 10-Man Battle Royal that included Hawkins & Ryder, Vladimir Kozlov, Armando Estrada, Jimmy Wang Yang, Funaki, Super Crazy, as well as newcomers Scotty Goldman and Ryan Braddock. Although Big Show was overlooked as a participant by General Manager Guerrero, he was not to be denied smashing his way into the ring on his own accord and eliminating the majority of Superstars including The Brian Kendrick himself. However, because Ezekiel Jackson caught and deposited his associate back in the ring before his feet hit the floor, the reeling Kendrick found his hand raised at the sound of the bell earning a place in the Championship Scramble.
In the second qualifying match, Montel Vontavious Porter stole a victory over Festus via count-out. Once the fierce battle made its way outside the ring and the referee began his 10-count, the Ballin Superstar seized the moment by kicking an unsuspecting Jesse, distracting the Corn-fed Colossus long enough to get back in the ring and pick up the win in the final second. Will MVPs self-proclaimed destiny to become a World Champion come true at Unforgiven?
In his continued obsession with possessing all the championship gold he can get his hands on, United States Champion Shelton Benjamin beat Finlay in the third qualifying match of the night. Benjamins victory was assisted by the Belfast brawlers rival, Mike Knox, who snuck down to ringside and grabbed Finlays son Hornswoggle, giving the Gold Standard the distraction he needed to hit paydirt and solidify his spot in the WWE Championship Scramble.
WWE Champion Triple H joined Jim Ross and Tazz at the broadcast table to witness the high-flying Jeff Hardy against The Great Khali in the final qualifying match. When Ranjin Singh decided to distract the Legend Thriller, The Game made his presence known, dropping Khalis handler before nailing the Punjabi Giant with a chair to set up Jeff Hardys humongous win.
And, just when the storm was finding its calm, The King of Kings was interrupted by Kenny Dykstra, a move that led to Dykstra being on the wrong end of a Pedigree.
Diva down Maria picked up the disqualification victory over Natalya, after Maryse blatantly attacked her in retaliation for the broken nose she suffered several weeks ago. Luckily for Maria, Divas Champion Michelle McCool was quick to even the odds. Will the rivalries between these Divas cool off as summer comes to an end, or are they just beginning to heat up?

Reports indicate that Gail Kim can start anytime with WWE as her TNA contract has already expired. She met with WWE's John Laurinaitis in Tampa yesterday afternoon. Then, she attended the Florida Championship Wrestling tapings last night and received a great response from the crowd on hand.
As we stated here before, Gail's decision to leave TNA for WWE is reportedly due to financial reasons and not because of any unhappiness with the way she was being used in TNA. Apparently, the WWE offered her an amount she simply couldn't refuse.
Former WWE and WCW Superstar Shawn Stasiak is planning to make a come-back to the squared circle this weekend. Stasiak will be making his wrestling return this Friday, August 22 for Booker Ts Pro Wrestling Alliance promotion at the Pasadena Convention Center.
According to several sources Stasiak is much leaner and in the best shape of his life. He is expected to make a big impact at Booker Ts PWA show this Friday. One source also stated he is looking to make a return to WWE or possibly TNA.
Stasiak was backstage at last Fridays TNA house show at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas to say hi to friends and also check out the show. There is no word on if he will be signing for the company or not though.

To clear things up, WWE recently granted Layla some time off from the road to take care of a personal family situation.
There are several news items to report from Thursday's August 22 "iMPACT!": broadcast on Spike as TNA continues the road to the September 14 "No Surrender" Pay-Per-View event:
- In singles action, the Latin American Xchange's Hernandez defeated one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions in Beer Money's Robert Roode
- The team of Eric Young and BG James defeated The Motor City Machineguns
- Matt Morgan won a singles bout, but he was attacked by Team 3D afterwards. Abyss once again came out to help "The Blueprint" run off Brother Ray and Brother Devon.
- In "Four Ways To Glory" qualifying, Booker T beat Rhino to advance to the main event World Title match at No Surrender on September 14.
- X Division Champion Petey Williams was disqualified against Consequences Creed after interference by Sheik Abdul Bashir
- Awesome Kong defeated Gail Kim in a Knockouts Street Fight
- In the main event, AJ Styles defeated Kurt Angle in a Ladder Match to retain possession of Kurt's Olympic Gold Medal. AJ was able to beat Kurt after the lights went out...and somehow Styles ended up with that familiar guitar to use on his nemesis to win it!
At the 8/9 WWE Summerfest event in Venice, California, WWE was handing out flyers promoting SmackDown's move to myNetworkTV on October 3, 2008. Superstars featured on the flyer include Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Carlito (featuring his altered appearance), Maria, and Candice Michelle. Considering that SmackDown draftee Maria is on it, and it features Carlito's new look (which he debuted a little over a month ago), the flyer was printed fairly recently. Candice has been out of action since March due the re-injuring of her clavicle, but should be returning to the ring soon. Judging by the flyer, it seems to indicate that Candice will be appearing on SmackDown upon her return to the ring.
