WWE Stars Thank Fans for Support

    - As seen on RAW last night, Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks appeared on RAW in a backstage segment with Wade Barrett. The two hinted at forming a team and will hook up this Thursday on Superstars to take on the team of Percy Watson and Titus O'Neil.

Reks, who has had fans rally for him on Twitter for a few weeks now with the hashtag #WeWantReks, wrote the following on Twitter last night: "Thanks Rekking Crew! Your support is heard! Keep tweeting #WeWantReks #ReksAndHawkins"

Hawkins, who has also been in the news after he tweeted about wanting more WWE TV time, wrote this last night after RAW: "Thanks for the love tonight. More too come... Be sure to check out @WWE Superstars this week to see myself & @Tyler_Reks in action."

Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 09/06/2011 at 10:26 AM

Zack Ryder wrote the following to fans after last night's RAW where he teamed with Jerry Lawler and got a new introduction video:

"29 weeks of hard work has finally been recognized...now it's time for me to make it pay off. THANKS BROSKIS! WWWYKI #RyderRevolution"

Dolph Ziggler congratulated Ryder for his tag team win with Jerry Lawler last night and called it a "re-debut" for the self-proclaimed WWE Internet Champion.

WWE Posts Storyline Feature on Internet Title
Posted by Steve Carrier on 09/05/2011 at 10:48 PM

    - WWE's website has a new article up asking fans if it's time for the Internet Title that Zack Ryder has to be featured. Here are some quotes from Ryder:

"Two of the four WWE programs in the U.S. are only on the internet. Everything is on the internet. People watch TV on their computer or on their phones or iPads. There should be an Internet Championship in WWE. They should be bribing me to defend my title on the internet, on television, wherever."

"They were some great TV Champions and guys that went on to become World Champions. It’s the same idea. The Internet Championship is a way to show people what I’m all about. I’ve created the Ryder Revolution."

"I’m never going to defend this title. I’ve earned this championship. I won it fair and square. My YouTube show has more than four million views, I dominate Twitter. I’m the first champion, I’m the last champion, I’m the only champion."

The Day After Raw: What You Thought

The Day After Raw: What You Thought

Two words: WWE Network. Coming off a WWE Raw SuperShow with the firing of Kevin Nash (and some suspicious creeping of WWE EVP John Laurinaitis), the inspiring preview of an all-new vehicle for WWE entertainment is leading the Twitter chatter and for good reason.

It’s the day after Raw. Let’s see what you thought …

    Kevin Nash as Super Shredder
The secret that oozed from CM Punk’s lips on Monday night was a comment that the most astute WWE Universe members were waiting to hear from the sharp-tongued Straight Edge Superstar. Referring to Kevin Nash’s cinematic performance as Super Shredder in the 1991 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, Punk riled up the big man just moments before his termination by Triple H. Rough night for Nash and New World Order revivalists around the globe.

Many would say it’s a shame we didn’t get to hear the full string of verbal barbs Punk had brewing in his brain since his criticisms were curtailed by the resonance of The Game’s self-titled entrance theme last night.

“… I’m not done,” uttered The “Voice of the Voiceless” underneath the chords of Motörhead. Unable to complete his sentence while competing with the WWE Chief Operating Officer’s theme, Punk lowered his pipebomb momentarily … until ultimately ridiculing Triple H’s signature sledgehammer swing.

@MikeyPiff: Love that @cmpunk called @realkevinnash Super Shredder on @WWE #Raw. Ninja, ninja rap!

@DaveBlackett: "@WWEgames: Who in the @WWEUniversegot the "Super Shredder" reference on @WWE#Raw? #TMNT2" I did, check the credits

@peroxwhyLUSH: If they're gonna cut @CMPunk off on the mic time and time again...let the guy walk. Be much better somewhere without greedy execs n the bank

@WWE_Creative: For those keeping score, @CMPunk took three weeks to make a Super Shredder reference. That's called restraint. #RAWTonight

@Maffewgregg: Actually I'd like to see Nash come out as Super Shredder one more time, just so Tony Chimel can call him SUUUUOOOPPERSHREDDER

@arda_ocal: Super Shredder is trending worldwide. He was the weakest villain in movie history... not just because Nash played him in Ninja Turtles 2

@FrankWWEClown: Super Shredder is trending worldwide. The Pipebomb strikes again. The @WWEUniverse has once again taken over. #WWE #RAWSupershow

@theisb: Man, CM Punk, you should not be dissing Super Shredder, you know that Ooze has mutated his beard. #Raw

@thesteelcage: "Best of luck in your future endeavors" - @CMPunk to Kevin Nash. #Perfect @WWE#RAW

New WWE NetworkThe new WWE Network
At one point, all attention was suddenly rapt by the image of a steel cage perched “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka during WWE Raw SuperShow. Ensuing visuals of the most classic WWE moments upon which a Universe was formed led to the announcement that a WWE Network was on its way. (WATCH)

Some fanatics have claimed that the end of the world would come in 2012, but more people are starting to believe that it’s just the beginning of a whole new one for sports-entertainment. Questions are plentiful at this time and while searching for answers, solace lies in the idea that next year, WWE action will be more accessible on your TV than ever before.

@!KelleyBelley08: @WWEUniverse When the @WWE Network comes along, I will never turn the channel. #WWENETWORK

@EricIGN: So WWE Network now officially announced for 2012. If I don't see Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling every morning, we've got problems,WWE.

@seanrlowe: WWE Network debuts in 2012. And unless you're delivering a pizza or bringing the popcorn you will never see me outside again. Lol. #fb

    @fredthewolf: WWE Network...yeah, I wouldn't mind that at all... #wwe #raw

@GoStabby: There's gonna be a WWE Network!! Mommy I want it I want it i want it *jumps up and down*

@KLEPONE: Whoa...WWE got their own channel!? That's nuts! WWE Network is going to be sick!

@MikeBNY: @JRsBBQ if the wwe network goes live you should have your own cooking show!

The Miz wears fly gearThe Miz and Air Boom’s fashion
This Thursday kicks off Fashion Week in New York City and the WWE Universe is following suit. Literally. Many noticed the eye-catching threads of the plaid-patterned Miz. However crass his antics and words, The Awesome One has an impeccable if not bold style. Those seeking fashion tips from The Miz can look back at WWE.com’s Superstar Quarterly video feature on his tailored look.

Ironically, it was The Miz’s Night of Champions opponents, WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne, who also allured WWE fans with their persistence in rolling with matching ring attire. The Carolina blue hued “Air Boom” is throwing it back to classic ring tandems known for color synced garb, including The Hart Foundation, The Rockers and more.

@TangReggie: @WWEUniverse @WWE Glad to see AirBoom matching, starting to look like a real team team. Now can they enter together?

@Heatherangelina: Lovin' the suit tonight, @mikethemiz. It's, wait for it......awesome!!

WWE Raw Supershow results: Cena fends off Del Rio

COLUMBUS, Ohio – As the clock continues to tick down to Night of Champions in less than two weeks, the circumstances surrounding each title match grow ever more contentious and controversial.

John Cena, Sheamus, John Morrison & Alex Riley def. Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Wade Barrett in an Eight-Man Elimination Tag Team Match (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
After WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio whipped them into a frenzy against John Cena in the locker room area, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Wade Barrett were frothing at the mouth. The quartet squared off against Cena, Sheamus, John Morrison & Alex Riley in an Eight-Man Elimination Tag Team Match.

The first two Superstars eliminated from the bout were The Prince of Parkour and A-Ry, followed by Barrett. After that, Sheamus and Christian battled to a double count-out, leaving Cena to battle Ziggler & Swagger. The two rivals were forced to work together, but their bickering and Cena’s domination allowed him to eliminate both.

Having won for his squad, Cena was then ambushed by WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, but The Cenation Commander-in-Chief beat back the attack and sent Del Rio scurrying.

John Cena called out WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2)
WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio can’t avoid John Cena forever. The Mexican Aristocrat was a no-show on both the WWE Raw SuperShow and SuperSmackDown last week, and this week he addressed Cena from a safe distance outside the ring. He taunted his Night of Champions opponent before a host of Superstars – who Del Rio had swayed earlier in the evening – converged on The Cenation Commander-in-Chief.

Before Wade Barrett, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and Christian could debilitate Cena, Sheamus, John Morrison and Alex Riley charged the ring to even the score. When they did, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long intervened and arranged an Eight-Man Elimination Tag Team Match.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton def. Heath Slater (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Add another chapter to Randy Orton’s book of anger management issues. After being thrashed by Mark Henry after his Steel Cage victory on SuperSmackDown, The World Heavyweight Champion needed a target on which to unleash his anger. Unfortunately for Heath Slater, he proved a suitable punching bag. The former WWE Tag Team Champion got rocked by The Viper, who showed why he’s so treacherous while sending a message to The World’s Strongest Man.

Zack Ryder & Jerry “The King” Lawler def. David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After dubbing former WWE Tag Team Champions David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty “boring,” Jerry “The King” Lawler accepted their challenge to face them with a partner of his choosing. Lawler looked to the opposite of boring when scouting his partner and enlisted the help of Long Island Iced-Z, Zack Ryder. Although it appeared Lawler had the match wrapped up against McGillicutty, Ryder eagerly begged to break off a piece of the action for himself. When “King” agreed to tag him in, the self-proclaimed “WWE Internet Champion” made quick work of his opponent, scoring the three-count for him and his WWE Hall of Fame partner.

CM Punk def. R-Truth; stipulation added to Triple H vs. Punk (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
The conspiracy against R-Truth continues, or so he’d have you believe. The unbalanced Superstar ambushed CM Punk last week as he fought The Miz. This week, Punk would be up against more of the same from these two. This time, however, it would be Truth’s partner who would attempt to interfere. Unlike last week, though, Miz got booted from the arena before the match could end. As a result, Punk recovered and managed to prevail.

Afterward, Punk’s Night of Champions’ opponent, Triple H, emerged to thicken the plot. WWE’s Chief Operating Officer challenged The Second City Savior to make theirs a No Disqualification Match. Punk said he would comply with The Game’s stipulation only if Triple H agreed to quit as COO were he to lose. A confident King of Kings readily agreed.
Beth Phoenix def. Eve in a No. 1 Contender’s Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Beth Phoenix is determined to change the landscape of the Divas division. And now, she’s earned the opportunity to do just that. The Glamazon defeated Eve in a No. 1 Contenders Match and will now face Divas Champion Kelly Kelly, who already defeated her at SummerSlam, in a title match at Night of Champions.

The Divas Champion as well as Beth’s fellow “Diva of Doom,” Natalya, each looked on from ringside as the match unfolded. After the bell sounded, Kelly went to check on Eve, but Natalya pulled her back down and slammed her into the arena floor. As Kelly writhed in pain, Natalya stepped into the ring and helped Beth celebrate her victory.

WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston def. Jinder Mahal & The Great Khali; title match announced for Night of Champions  (WATCH | PHOTOS)
The relationship between Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali continues to disintegrate. After Khali lost to Sheamus on SuperSmackDown, Mahal warned him he was on thin ice. This week, the two teamed up against WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Instead of leveraging their clear size advantage, Mahal & Khali failed to get on the same page, allowing Air Boom to cut them off at the knees for the victory.

Later in the evening, partners The Miz & R-Truth announced they will challenge Bourne & Kingston for their titles at Night of Champions.

WWE COO Triple H fired Kevin Nash (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Exhibiting shades of his father-in-law, Mr. McMahon, WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H asserted his executive power and fired longtime friend Kevin Nash in a move that shocked both the WWE Universe and Big Daddy Cool himself. The unpleasant altercation had been building for weeks, as Nash continued to both defy and provoke The Game.

The mounting issues between the two finally came to a head. Punk was addressing the WWE Universe when Big Daddy Cool interrupted, trading verbal jabs with The Second City Savior. Before the two could trade blows, The Game came out to ease tensions. Nash informed him, though, that WWE wasn’t big enough for both he and Punk, that one of them would have to go. The Game then revealed he’d received security camera footage from L.A.’s STAPLES Center from the night of SummerSlam. Turns out, Nash had snuck into the COO’s office and sent a text to himself from Triple H’s phone, instigating his attack on CM Punk that night. In other words, Big Daddy Cool had been lying to his good friend for weeks. That’s when Triple H finally handed Nash his walking papers.

When the COO attempted to leave, Nash blocked his exit. The Game was having none of it, and instead, clocked the seven-footer in the face before striding out of the ring.

    Kurt Angle arrested

The following is from TMZ.com. This confirms our earlier report:

Wrestling legend Kurt Angle was arrested early this morning on charges of driving under the influence ... TMZ has learned.

Angle was busted by Virginia State Troopers and taken to Warren County Jail. He posted $2,000 bond and was released at 3:31 AM.

Angle won the gold medal in wrestling at the 1996 Olympics before turning to professional wrestling. He made his name in the WWE and is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Here are some more exclusive details on Kurt Angle's DWI arrest:

-- Kurt Angle was arrested in Front Royal, VA (Warren Co.) for DUI.

-- Kurt's car was spotted by another driver on I-66 East near Linden. He was swerving between lanes. Virginia State Troopers responded to the call, pulled him over, and determined he was intoxicated. He was then taken to the Warren County Jail.

-- Angle posted $2,000 bond and was released from the Warren County Jail at 3:31 a.m.

-- According to our sources, Angle was texting and driving in addition to drinking.

-- Kurt's rental car was picked up by JR King of JR's 24 hour towing in Strasburg. It was towed to an impound lot where it was picked up at some point today.

-- Angle was previously arrested on March 25, 2011 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and charged with "being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated," after failing a field sobriety test. He later pled guilty to the charges and was on April 20 sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation, a chemical dependency evaluation, a $250 fine, $225 in court fees, and a ten day suspended jail sentence.

Bella Twins Trash WWE Over WWE Divas Article

Bella Twins Trash WWE Over WWE Divas Article
Posted by Dave Mitchell on 09/04/2011 at 03:06 PM

The Bella twins are PISSED over an article posted on the WWE website about Beth Phoenix and Natalya Neidhart being the "salvation" to a Divas division overrun by models and bimbos. The article, which can be read here in its entirety, mentioned the Bella twins by name as WWE divas who 'diva purists' can't believe are being featured on television over more talented in ring performers. The Bellas wrote on Twitter that they woke up to the "embarrassing" article and wanted to share their thoughts with the WWE Universe.

    Nikki Bella wrote:

"First off.... Um you want me to slap you with all of my awards and championships I have won? I was a #1 athlete... Which other Diva was?

Secondly, Bri & @RealKellyKelly have been the only entertainment that has happened 2 the Diva's Division & have worked harder than anyone!

Thirdly, I've seen 2 girls the past few weeks try as hard as they can to be "models" while us "models" have busted our butts.....

Oh and good luck with the up and coming Divas.... Sure you'll make a lot of money with them.... Um actually NOT!

Lastly, @RealKellyKelly & Us are better than anyone in the past so Katie Raymond check your self and come read this article to my face! NB"

    Brie Bella wrote:

"Wow, I just woke up to the craziness! The words spoken by Katie are laughable, but I'm a women who will stand for what I believe in...so...

I know what I've given to the fans and that's all what matters. WWE might think your a bunch of puppets that are persuaded by their words..

I know how you all feel :) good and bad, I love it! I mean if WWE cared about Divas why do we have such little time on tv?

Why were divas such as Mickey James, Melina and Gail Kim released. Why aren't wrestlers like Sara Del Ray hired? All amazing!.......

Kelly Kelly and myself have worked to hard to have an unknown, untalented writer say the things she did. Katie (whoever) Suck it! Love Brie"

Former WWE diva Melina responded to the Bellas' rant -

"You know I love you but everyone needs to seriously calm down and think before tweeting. This is not worth it."

    The Bellas responded to Melina:

"@RealMelina you know that wasn't towards you girl :) I know you know that"

Melina replied once again with the following:

"Everyone, these are all good girls. All of them. Yes everyone's experience level varies but I'm damn proud to step into the ring with them.

Wrestling is not easy on so many levels. It's not only physical grueling but mentally & emotionally. Against ALL odds you have to overcome.

Through the hardest of times you have to pretend ur ok, pick yourself up & think about others because we are role models. Even when we hurt.

2live our life in wrestling is not easy. Even though it looks like it is... If it does that means we r THAT good. but it isn't. Far from it.

I love wrestling. No matter what promotion... This is art. This is an extension of me. I may not be in the WWE but my heart is still there.

I'm going 2do what I love & Friggin go all out at @WSUWrestling. I'm so excited about it. U have no idea how much I miss being in the ring."

The Bella Twins finished off by saying:

"Well today has been fun so far haha wow... off to Columbus, OH.... Wonderin' what's in store for the Divas... Uh oh! Besos! Nikki #divas"

Divas of Doom ... or salvation?

Divas of Doom ... or salvation?

Stinkfaces. Booty poppin'. If you're a purist about a woman's place inside the WWE ring, you might be wondering what Fabulous Moolah is thinking looking down on the Divas division. Would the iconic figure chalk up the current flux of the division on changing times, or would she say, "Someone needs to save this"?

Beth Phoenix and Natalya, the "Divas of Doom," think so. However, are The Glamazon and third-generation Diva just the two women to call "saviors"?

First, the sly and athletic Brie Bella wins the Divas Championship using underhanded tactics. Diva purists weren't happy. Then, Kelly Kelly - who has improved markedly inside the ring - netted the butterfly title. Diva purists started pointing fingers and lashing out. This can't be happening. Not in a division that has seen the likes of Moolah, Trish Stratus, Hall of Famer Wendi Richter, Lita and Melina bear the Women's Title. On social media, the WWE Universe joined the fight, asking: How are these "model" Divas getting their names etched in the history books? Do only "pretty faces," as according to Beth Phoenix and Natalya, matter?

The WWE Universe took to Twitter to express their dismay and praise the terror-filling twosome, even making The Divas of Doom a worldwide trending topic during SuperSmackDown Tuesday night.

    @ButisThisCool: @NatbyNature @TheBethPhoenix-- @RealKellyKelly is the Divas Champion. #ThingsWeNeedToChange #DivasofDoom

@Sparty1181: People need to respect @TheBethPhoenix and @NatbyNature they have earned it. They are the true definition of women's wrestling!#DivasofDoom

@WWENate#ThingsWeNeedToChange The Divas division in WWE! They need a little more than 2 minutes a night to show what they can do! #GiveDivasAChance

1116825174001|00:32And so in came these sisters of destruction, carrying holy water and a torch. One was destined to dominate the ring, the other was born to an impressive bloodline. Both have worked tirelessly on their craft. This isn't to say the other Divas haven't worked tirelessly- night in and night out they put their bodies on the line for the WWE Universe's entertainment, but Beth and Natalya's livelihood isn't on the posters or the calendars. Their livelihood is made from breaking bones and taking names. That doesn't necessarily make them saviors, but it certainly gives them purpose.

It might be easy to constantly search or compare the current crop of Divas to Lita and Trish, though an understanding must be made: There will never be another Trish Stratus or Lita. Any comparisons made to them are unfair. Divas Champion Kelly Kelly has worked endlessy for 5 years, becoming one of the most popular Divas, and has taken on all who have stood in her way. The Bellas have taught the WWE Universe with athleticism and determination what a little "Twin Magic" can do. But the line doesn't end there. With talented new Divas like A.J. impressing in their squared-circle prowess and not-quite-Divas-yet like Maxine and the exciting Naomi waiting in the wings, the future looks bright for the Divas division. But that doesn't mean the Divas division's time isn't now.

So does the Divas division need to be saved? Not just yet. But Beth Phoenix and Natalya are certainly doing their share to rejuvenate it.

Some of the Divas took to Twitter on the topic:

@EveMarieTorres: I'd love to step into the ring whomever wrote this, & c who needs saving. #Iwillbootypopinyourfacethenmakeyoutapwwe.me/6kZ8Y

@thebellatwins: Bri & @RealKellyKelly have been the only entertainment that has happened 2 the Diva's Division & have worked harder than anyone!

@thebellatwins: First off.... Um you want me to slap you with all of my awards and championships I have won? I was a #1 athlete... Which other Diva was?

@thebethphoenix: As long as I can remember I have worked my butt off and been underappreciated while the crowd adores @RealKellyKelly and @EveMarieTorres...

@thebethphoenix: Its not the Divas Division that needs saving, but the WWE Universe. Myself and @NatbyNature are on a mission to make you change your minds.

What do you think? Head over to @WWEUniverse on Twitter and WWE's official Facebook page to let your voice be heard!

    Phoenix Talks Divas Division

Beth Phoenix says she and Natalya are out to change the way the fans see the WWE Divas division. She wrote on Twitter:

"Its not the Divas Division that needs saving, but the WWE Universe. Myself and @NatbyNature are on a mission to make you change your minds.. As long as I can remember I have worked my butt off and been underappreciated while the crowd adores @RealKellyKelly and @EveMarieTorres... I am tired of looking and being the best and being passed over time and time again. Im done asking for approval. And just getting started. Proving my point. #DivasofDoom. Most of all, the WWE Universe WILL listen. Because We will MAKE YOU. #DivasofDoom."

WICHITA, Kan. – On a special live SuperSmackDown featuring Superstars from both Raw and SmackDown, elation went to pain for World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton when Mark Henry came calling.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton def. Christian in a Steel Cage Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With his World Heavyweight Championship on the line, Randy Orton fought tooth-and-nail with a hard-charging and determined Christian. As both Superstars battled atop the cage then the top rope, the champion dropped Christian with a blistering RKO for the win. But before Orton could relish in his win, No. 1 contender Mark Henry rushed to the cage.

The most dangerous man in WWE then went to work dismantling The Viper by bashing him skull-first into the steel cage, clotheslining him then finally finishing him off with a brutal World’s Strongest Slam. With WWE’s Apex Predator at his feet, Henry hoisted his title high. Was the night a sign of things to come with both Superstars on an imminent collision course?
Sheamus def. The Great Khali by Disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)
When Jinder Mahal attacked Sheamus from behind, The Celtic Warrior picked up an immediate win over The Great Khali by disqualification. But afterward, Sheamus felt the vicious effects of The Khali Chop, followed by a painful assault by Mahal outside the ring. But the Irish Superstar had the last laugh when he absolutely demolished Mahal with the Celtic Cross in the ring.

Kevin Nash dropped COO Triple H to the canvas (PHOTOS)
After exchanging emotional and heated words, it looked like CM Punk and Triple H might come to blows before their Night of Champions match. But before things came to a head, Kevin Nash charged to the ring. With Punk seething, the COO kept him at bay. But when Triple H lost control, Punk and Nash collided, with Punk getting a massive boot to the face. Then in a stunning move, Nash dropped Triple H to the canvas with a demonstrative show of force. The contract chaos begs the question: Has Triple H lost complete control? After the mayhem, Nash refused comment to Matt Striker.
Beth Phoenix & Natalya def. Divas Champion Kelly Kelly & Alicia Fox (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In a dominating display the "Divas of Doom" took care of business against Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox when The Glamazon dispatched of Fox with a debilitating Glam Slam.

Sin Cara def. Daniel Bryan (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The second match of the night featured a contest between two of WWE’s most athletic Superstars. Although both Superstars pushed themselves to the limit, it was a quick combination of moves from the ropes that spelled victory for Sin Cara. In an apparent gesture of good sportsmanship, Sin Cara shook Byran’s hand while he was on his knees. But then in an ugly display, the international sensation blasted Bryan with a kick to the head.

    Mark Henry predicted pain
When Mark Henry was asked by Matt Striker about facing the winner of the night’s Steel Cage Match at Night of Champions, he said “I don’t care who wins … either way, they'll be a candidate for the 'Hall of Pain.'"
John Cena def. Wade Barrett (PHOTOS | WATCH)
With his sights set on WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio at Night of Champions, John Cena made quick work of Wade Barrett, defeating him with an Attitude Adjustment in the night's first match.
John Cena kicked off SuperSmackDown (PHOTOS)
After starting his career on SmackDown, John Cena came to the ring at the historic start of a live SuperSmackDown and talked about hurting WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. But Ricardo Rodriguez informed Cena he’d have to wait until Night of Champions for the honor of being in the ring with him. Putting a punctuation mark on Rodriguez’s statements, Cena dropped him to the canvas. Next, Wade Barrett emerged to talk smack about his upcoming match with Cena. But, the Cenation leader got in the last word: “Get this through your head … you have made my life miserable and I owe you some payback."

    Santino Marella in car accident

    Santino Marella in car accident

    TORONTO
    — WWE Superstar Santino Marella suffered a separated left shoulder following a car accident Thursday night.
WWE.com spoke to Marella this morning about the incident.

"I had just left home and was going to get my hair cut before I began packing for WWE's trip to Puerto Rico," explained Marella. "[My barber] wasn't around, so I just decided to go home."

Marella was then hit by another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene of the collision until police arrived, and no foul play is suspected.

"My car flipped sideways and the trunk hit a light pole, it completely crushed in," Marella said. "The airbags deployed, and all I could smell was gunpowder."

Marella's car came to rest near a light pole, and sustained significant damage.

"There was broken glass everywhere, and I tried to open the passenger door, but it was stuck," Marella said.  “Luckily, there was still power in the car. I opened the sunroof and crawled out."

He will not be at Raw this Monday.

"I need to heal up as fast as possible and get back in that ring," Santino said. "I want to get back there and fight.”
