- With the exception of John Morrison and a few others, there weren't a lot of people within WWE sad to see Melina go because of the reputation she had developed. The same deal applies for Gail Kim to an extent. Officials felt that Kim speaking out was getting the other Divas riled up.
After the wide success of July's live pay-per-view-event "Destination X", IMPACT WRESTLING is expanding the re-energized X Division roster by signing new athletes. The Thursday night (August 18) airing of IMPACT WRESTLING on Spike revealed the addition of Mark Haskins, Zema Ion, Jesse Sorensen, Anthony Neese, and the return of Kid Kash.
The new and returning arrivals didn't have much time to acclimate as they were immediately thrust into an 8-Man Gauntlet match along with current X Division veteran Alex Shelley and Robbie E. That gauntlet resulted in Austin Aries securing the #1 Contender spot for the X Division.
With the new addition of athletes the X Division is sure to be taken to new heights. Get to know more about the new additions to the X Division by clicking on their names below and visiting their bio pages.
It's a new day in World Championship Wrestling as the two men who were kicked out of the company have returned with a vengeance!
Vince Russo, who at one point was head writer of the WWF and helped the company become number 1 and Eric Bischoff, who took WCW from a company that lost $6 Million is 1993 to a profit of $55 Million in 1998 have returned and joined forces.
What does this mean for Spring Stampede this Sunday? What does this mean for World Champion Sid Vicious, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Jarrett, the nWo and everyone else?
- Word on why WWE hasn't publicly announced the suspension of Andy Leavine is that they are going through the motions to make sure his Wellness failure is legitimate, like checking to see if he was prescribed something by a doctor or other steps along those lines. Andy also may be offered a second test but that's not confirmed. There have been situations where a talent failed a Test, then took a second one and proved they were clean.
Andy reportedly failed his Wellness Test right before SummerSlam some time. It was also noted that Andy is still technically a developmental talent and WWE usually doesn't announce suspensions, releases or failures from developmental.
- Kevin Nash reportedly tried returning to WWE TV without dying his hair black but officials insisted that he dye it black because they wanted him to look younger. Nash tried to get out of it but WWE wouldn't budge. It's said that Nash prefers his gray hair and when he was in TNA, people pushed for him to dye it but he wouldn't.
- WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler indicated on Twitter that he is suffering from a pulled groin. Ziggler didn't wrestle on Monday's RAW but defeated Alex Riley in the SummerSlam dark match.
Sin Cara Update: Nuclear Backstage Heat, Hunico Posted by Dave Mitchell on 08/17/2011 at 05:39 PM
Last week on SmackDown, we saw developmental wrestler Hunico make his WWE television debut, donning the mask of Sin Cara while the original Sin Cara (Luis Ignascio / Mistico) finishes up this 30-day suspension this week.
A WWE source has informed us that it was in fact Hunico working as Sin Cara once again at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings from Bakersfield, California - set to air on Syfy this Friday night.
Luis Ignascio, will be eligible to return to WWE this weekend - but many are questioning whether he'll be brought back at all. After a rocky start in WWE over the past several months due to blown spots, poor matches and an overall underwhelming rookie year, the original Sin Cara reportedly has "nuclear" backstage heat on him.
During a commercial break during the Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio WWE Title match on Monday's RAW, Rey was limping around the ring while Del Rio worked the crowd. Fans in attendance note that Rey's knee was clearly hurting. Rey was trying to move his knee around and talked with a WWE crew member at ringside. To fans in attendance, it looked as if Rey was seeing if he could continue. They came back from commercial and WWE ended up doing the injury angle with Rey after Del Rio won the match.
After RAW, while John Cena and CM Punk were ending the show with Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez, Mysterio was getting looked at by WWE trainers at ringside. Trainers looked at Rey for over 5 minutes as Cena and Punk closed the show, according to a fan in attendance. Rey was finally helped to the back by a WWE trainer and a referee.

Titus welcomes the crowd to NXT. Titus says both he and Hornswoggle have been on journeys lately, but Hornswoggle's has been a journey of love. He says Hornswoggle has something to tell AJ. Hornswoggle mumbles unintelligibly at AJ, and Titus translates. He says "He couldn't think of a better diva to spend time with than you." Hornswoggle gets down on one knee and presents AJ with a ring pop. AJ responds positively and Titus informs her that the ring represents a promise that she'll be his forever. It's only a small token of what she means to him. AJ says that this has never been about size. She says it doesn't matter what size he is, all that matters is the size of his heart. Derrick Bateman's music hits and out comes Bateman looking none too pleased. Bateman stands on the ramp and says that he's literally regurgitating his dinner at the thought of this. This is a competition, not an episode of "As The Leprechaun Turns." He says if Hornswoggle believes that anyone could love him, he's as dumb as Titus looks. Titus suggests that Bateman goes back to the locker room before he kicks his teeth in. Bateman says he hates to break it to Titus, but he's going to be winning this season of NXT. He points at AJ and Hornswoggle and says he can't tell who's the leprechaun and who's the troll. Titus invites Bateman to the ring, and Bateman says "Why don't you make me?" Hornswoggle and Titus oblige and chase Bateman to the back.

-Some Japanese characters appear on the tron and a gong sounds (not like Undertaker's, mind you). Tyson looks confused as we go to Matt Striker.
-Matt Striker is backstage in ring gear. He says he knows he lost last week, and he won't make excuses like Darren Young does. He says there is a fine line between making a difference and making an excuse. He knows that he's ready for Darren Young, and that Darren Young isn't ready for Matt Striker. That match is coming up next.

-Derrick Bateman comes out with Maxine, who attacked AJ earlier tonight. Bateman says that standing next her makes her more than just a woman. He tells the audience to stands up to respect the love of his life, his soulmate, his girlfriend, Maxine. Maxine takes the mic and says to Hornswoggle: "You wish you could handle a real woman like me." But she says that he has to settle for something less, like AJ. If he thinks she's causing problems for him now, just wait.
-Commercial
-Hornswoggle's music hits and out comes Titus O'Neil by himself. Maxine's staying ringside to support Bateman.
Match #3: Derrick Bateman vs. Titus O'Neil
-They lock up and Titus forces Bateman into the corner. The referee tries to break it up but Titus keeps clubbing away at Bateman. Titus whips Bateman hard into another corner. Bateman whips Titus and hits a jumping clothesline for yet another two-count. Bateman applies a quarter nelson chinlock on Titus, but Titus makes his way to his feet. Titus hits the ropes but Bateman hits a kitchen sink, which gets a surprising amount of heat. Bateman locks in a cravate front facelock, but yet again, Titus fights out. A botched sequence of Bateman trying to jump over Titus leads to a very improvised-looking spinebuster from Titus. Titus hits the ropes and hits a flying clothesline and a shoulderbreaker for a two-count. Bateman gets to his feet and tries to hit his "Man-tastic" finisher, but Titus picks him up and tosses him out of the ring. Maxine goes over to Bateman, but so does Titus, so she backs off. Bateman gets back in the ring and attacks Titus on the apron. The referee breaks it up and Maxine grabs Titus' leg. This distracts Titus long enough for Bateman to roll Titus up for the win.
Winner: Derrick Bateman
