The following live notes from RAW are compiled from several reports sent in from fans who were at the show:
-- The stands were about 90 percent full, The upper section on the hard camera side was tarped off and was about 2/3 empty.
-- Cryme Tyme beat Snitsky and Unamed Local Jobber in a 5 minute match that the crowd was really into.
-- HBK got a lot of heel heat during his segment with JBL.
-- Kelly Kelly did the kiss cam just before the Jillian/Melina match.
-- Triple H was just as over as John Cena with the live crowd
-- After RAW went off the air, Chris Jericho came to the ring and started talking trash to the fans, saying he'd beat them all up. Hometown hero Batista came out and gave Jericho a beatdown, complete with spinebuster and Batista bomb. Batista grabbed the mic and told fans he used to be a bouncer in D.C. two blocks from Verizon Center, and that he used to work out at a gym that was located where the Verizon Center now stands. He slapped some hands on his way to the back.
-- The advertised triple threat main event between Cena, Jericho and Batista never happened.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Though he has only been back in action for a couple weeks following his emergency neck surgery, John Cena already finds himself and his World Heavyweight Championship in the sights of some of Raws most devious villains. Going into Raw, The Champ knew he would be facing Kane in the main event, and that in a mere two weeks, he must defend his title against Jericho. But by the end of the night in our nations capital, three new enemies reared their heads in the form of the multi-generational Superstars Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Manu.
WATCH all of the action now in the Raw Quick Cut and check out WWE.com's exclusive ringside PHOTOS.
World Heavyweight Champion John Cena def. Kane; Cena attacked by Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Manu (PHOTOS | WATCH) Continuing to prove that he is as strong and fearless as before his injury, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena met Kane in Raws main event. Though Cenas Armageddon opponent, Chris Jericho attempted to become involved, The Champ managed to fight off the interloper and then go on to fell the Big Red Monster. After the match, Cena chased after Jericho, who was attempting to escape. The tables turned, however, when Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Manu emerged to attack Cena, allowing Jericho to lock the World Heavyweight Champion into a particularly vicious version of the Walls of Jericho.
Rey Mysterio def. The Miz to advance to the next round of the Eight-Man Intercontinental Title Tournament (PHOTOS) Though Stephanie McMahon had announced earlier in the night that Rey Mysterio would not be participating in the Intercontinental Title Tournament due to torn ligaments in his elbow suffered at the hands of Mike Knox, the Ultimate Underdog was adamant that he be given a chance to compete. Though still suffering, Mysterio made his way to the ring, where he met an overconfident Miz. The arrogance of the self-proclaimed Chick Magnet was his undoing as the Master of the 619 made his presence known, advancing to the next round of the tournament.
Stephanie McMahon announced the nominees for Superstar of the Year Having just recently assumed power of Monday Night Raw, Stephanie McMahon appeared before the WWE Universe to talk about the following weeks Slammy Awards on a special three-hour Raw, starting at 8/7 CT. The Executive Vice President went on to announce the nominees for what is certainly the most coveted Slammy: Superstar of the Year. She went on to announce Edge, Batista, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, Triple H and John Cena as the nominees. As if that wasnt enough reason to tune in next week, all six Superstars will be competing in matches during the special edition of Raw: Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho, Triple H vs. Batista and champion against champion, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena vs. WWE Champion Edge.
John Morrison def. Finlay to advance to the next round of the Eight-Man Intercontinental Title Tournament (PHOTOS) John Morrison and Finlay faced off on Raw, with both Superstars intent on making it to the next bracket in the ongoing Intercontinental Title Tournament. Though the Belfast Brawler has managed to pull out wins in the past with the help of Hornswoggle, Finlays diminutive son proved more of a hindrance in his match against the Shaman of Sexy. After Morrison showed aggression toward Hornswoggle, Finlay was distracted long enough for the Tuesday Night Delight to gain the advantage and steal a win, moving one step closer to William Regals Intercontinental Championship.
Batista def. Dolph Ziggler; Batista will face Randy Orton at Armageddon (PHOTOS) After introducing himself to countless Superstars in the locker room area and elsewhere, young ring warrior Dolph Ziggler finally made his in-ring debut on Raw. Zigglers first outing was an intense one, as he had to face none other than Batista. Though The Animal possessed more power and far more experience, Ziggler still managed to hold his own, but it wasnt enough to prevent a Batista Bomb for the win.
Following Batistas victory, Randy Orton appeared to taunt The Animal. Unbeknownst to the Legend Killer, however, Batista had spoken with Stephanie McMahon earlier in the day, and revealed to Orton that they would be facing one another at Armageddon. As Randy Orton made his way back to the locker room area, he was confronted by Chris Jericho, who tried to make an ally of the Legend Killer based on their mutual hatred of World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.
JBL extends the deadline for his offer to Shawn Michaels by another week (PHOTOS) JBL appeared on Raw ready for business, specifically interested in getting an answer from Shawn Michaels to the offer he made to HBK the week before. While the WWE Universe was still in the dark as to the nature of the original offer, the self-proclaimed wrestling god challenged Michaels to a Street Fight. Before the referee rang the bell to start the match, however, JBL clarified his offer for both Shawn Michaels and our fans. The self-made millionaire asked HBK to come work for him, bragging of his ability to make up for all the money Michaels had lost in the stock market. JBL then gave The Showstopper an opportunity to publicly refuse the offer, inviting the conflicted Superstar to give him some Sweet Chin Music right there if he wasnt interested. Michaels refrained from kicking Layfield and slowly walked away from the ring without making a decision.
Melina def. Jillian (PHOTOS) One week earlier on Raw, Melina proved to the WWE Universe that she was fully recovered from her ankle injury, leading Mickie James & Candice Michelle to victory in a Six-Diva Tag Team Match. In the paparazzi-hounded Divas first singles match back, however, she was faced with the agile and aggressive Jillian. With Womens Champion Beth Phoenix and her beau, Santino Marella looking on from ringside, Melina proceeded to beat her opponent, and make clear to The Glamazon her intention to win her coveted Womens Title.
World Tag Team Champions CM Punk & Kofi Kingston def. Cody Rhodes & Manu (PHOTOS) Though they could very well end up facing one another as part of the Intercontinental Title Tournament, World Tag Team Champions CM Punk & Kofi Kingston worked together in their match against Cody Rhodes & Manu on Raw. Facing two ring warriors with such impressive in-ring abilities and lineages as the second-generation Superstars was a difficult task, but the champions proved themselves up to the challenge as Kofi pinned Rhodes for the win.
After the match, as Rhodes & Manu seethed over their loss, they were approached by a fellow multi-generational Superstar, Randy Orton. Having seen what success they achieved as a team at Survivor Series, the Legend Killer claimed it was time they begin working together.
Mike Knox attacked Rey Mysterio on his way to the ring, knocking the Ultimate Underdog out of the Intercontinental Title Tournament With the WWE Universe cheering his arrival, Rey Mysterio began making his way down to the ring to face The Miz in the Intercontinental Title Tournaments next match. Before the Ultimate Underdog could get to the ring, however, he was confronted by the monstrous Mike Knox for the second week in a row. This time their run-in didnt stop with staring and harsh words, however, as the Desert Destroyer attacked the Master of the 619, resulting in torn ligaments in Mysterios elbow. After recognizing that the luchador wouldnt be able to compete in the tournament, Stephanie McMahon stated her intention to find a replacement for the high-flyer later in the night.
Chris Jericho opened Raw explaining his desire to beat World Heavyweight Champion John Cena (PHOTOS) At the top of the show, Chris Jericho made his presence known in much the same way as World Heavyweight Champion John Cena the week before, addressing the WWE Universe as he made his way through the crowd down to the ring. The difference however, was that while The Champ welcomed his fans, Jericho made pains to ignore them. The first-ever Undisputed Champion went on to explain his resentment toward Cena, stating that while away from the ring, Jerichos son grew to be a fan, not of his father, but of John Cena. Now, Jericho hopes to show his son and all of the WWE Universe what a real hero is, by beating Cena for the World Heavyweight Title at Armageddon.

Four-time WWE Women's champion Mickie James tells WWE.com that she is looking forward to expand her professional career beyond World Wrestling Entertainment. "If I was to accomplish anything outside of the continuous growth of my WWE career, it would be to star in at least one movie," Mickie said in a wwe.com superstar-to-superstar interview with Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls. "I have always dreamed of being a star on the big screen." When asked about the challenges of life on the road, James says staying upbeat is difficult, especially when she's worn out and fans want her attention. "I find it especially challenging when we come off a long tour and fly into town our fans are at the airport waiting for autographs," she said. "We are all exhausted and can't wait to get to our hotels." She added, But then I think if it weren't for their loyalty to us, we wouldn't be who we are today. Besides, I was once one of those."
The current preview for TNAs Genesis PPV on January 9, 2009 in Charlotte, NC teases that former WWF champ Mick Foley could be returning to the ring:
"Some call him a hardcore legend, a daredevil a risk-taker. He is Mick Foley. He crossed the line and came to TNA to challenge some of the greatest athletes and legends. Now he's ready to make history inside the six-sided ring."
Randy Orton has been telling friends that WWE offered him a 10-year contract. Although there is still no word on whether Orton will agree to the deal, it says a lot about their faith in the young superstar. As noted over the weekend, WWE is also trying to sign Rey Mysterio to a five-year deal.

During filming of a fight scene for the upcoming movie Sherlock Holmes, the WWE wrestler formerly known as Kurrgan (real name Robert Maillet), accidentally knocked out actor Robert Downey Jr. with a punch to the chin. Downey Jr. needed six stitches in his mouth as a result of the punch from the former "Truth Commission" and "Oddities" member, which sent him flying and knocked him out cold.
WWE Raw Diva Mickie James is currently suffering from a hyperextended elbow, which has caused her some discomfort and numbness. Due to the injury, she's being used sparingly, but still working because WWE heavily relies on her to help layout the matches, keep the matches going and the fans interested at shows. James is expected to be given some time off from house shows as a result. The injury occurred during the recent European tour, which is why she was taken out of matches except as referee or timekeeper. James believes she is okay enough to work, but officials are being careful as she is invaluable to the division. Trainers feel she should rest another week or two before moving back into regular action.

ALBANY, N.Y. As new WWE Champion Edge reemerged on SmackDown with his gold raised high, the WWE Universe witnessed three of SmackDowns top Superstars battle for clock supremacy to see who would face the Ultimate Opportunist at Armageddon, only to be left in a shroud of uncertainty.
(Watch SmackDown Quick Cut)
SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero announces Beat the Clock Challenge (PHOTOS) With the cause of Jeff Hardys Survivor Series hospitalization still a mystery, GM Vickie Guerrero introduced the newly crowned WWE Champion, Edge, who claimed no responsibility for the attack, but had plenty of things to say about the Charismatic Enigmas shortcomings. As a furious Hardy and Triple H were both being held back by a dozen security guards, and Vladimir Kozlov stood menacingly across the ring, Guerrero announced that all three Superstars would compete in a Beat the Clock Challenge to see who would face the Rated-R Superstar at Armageddon.
Jeff Hardy def. The Brian Kendrick Beat the Clock Match (PHOTOS) Hardy set the standard early, winning the first Beat the Clock Challenge Match with a high-octane win over The Brian Kendrick. After taking Ezekiel Jackson out with a lightning kick through the ropes, Hardy delivered a Swanton Bomb on The Kendrick to secure the huge victory, making him the Superstar to beat.
Vladimir Kozlov vs. ECW Champion Matt Hardy (Time Expires) (Beat the Clock Match) (Non-Title) (PHOTOS) Matt Hardy put everything on the line for the sake of his brother, battling tenaciously with the mighty Moscow Mauler while keeping one eye on the clock. The Extreme champions endurance paid off, as time expired without a winner, thereby sealing the door shut on Kozlovs opportunity to be part of the Armageddon main event.
Triple H def. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin (Beat the Clock Match) (Non-Title Match) (PHOTOS) After a grueling match, The King of Kings hit the Gold Standard with a Pedigree. But the official had been knocked out, and struggled through glazed eyes to finally deliver the three-count. However, after raising The Games hand in triumph indicating that he had beaten the clock a second official ran down to dispute the outcome. The two officials came to the consensus that Triple H and Jeff Hardy had earned their win in exactly the same amount of time, leaving the WWE Universe in a state of confusion and suspense as to who would be facing Edge at Armageddon.
Jesse & Festus def. The Miz & John Morrison (DQ) (PHOTOS) Miz & Morrison continued to ring Festus bell. First, Morrison rang it when he got into trouble during their match. Then, Miz rang it again after Jesse helped his tag team partner, and the "Dirt Sheet co-stars got themselves disqualified for aggressively attacking Jesse outside the ring. After the decision, the Tuesday Night Delight and the self-proclaimed Chick Magnet climbed back in with the bell and proceeded to ring it over and over, having a good laugh by taking Festus in and out of his catatonic state, before the Corn-fed Colossus finally chased them out of the ring.
Maryse def. Divas Champion Michelle McCool (Six-Diva Tag Team Match) (PHOTOS) Maryse, Victoria & Natalya walked away with a big win over Michelle McCool and The Bella Twins after the Divas Champion was accidentally clotheslined by her own partner, allowing Maryse to pick up the quick pin. After the match, a livid Michelle had some choice words for her twin teammates, seemingly blaming them for the loss. When Maria rushed out to keep the peace, Michelle shoved her to the ground before walking away in anger.
Rey Mysterio is still negotiating a new contract with WWE, reports prowrestling.NET. His current contract expires next spring. Mysterio appeared to be on the verge of signing a new deal a few weeks ago, but there are still problems regarding merchandising and other issues. WWE is looking to sign Mysterio to a five-year deal, but he only wants a three-year contract. Officials generally like to re-sign their wrestlers a year before their contracts expire.

The Miami Herald has an interview today with SmackDown wrestler DH Smith (Harry Smith), 23, the son of "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith.
If you recall, Smith was suspended for 30 days by World Wrestling Entertainment following a violation of the company's Wellness policy a little over a year ago. He eventually returned to television, but did little of note until being taken off the road this past spring and returning to WWE's developmental program. Smith said it was his decision to take one step back and return to Florida Championship Wrestling so he could re-focus, mature, and develop his skills to be ready for when he makes the jump back to the main roster.
"I actually decided to come back to FCW and train full time here," Smith said, "because I just feel like the business is one of those things where you get what you put in, and I want to put in my best efforts, and hopefully we'll receive great accomplishments and achievements."
Smith feels he wasn't quite ready for WWE, as he started working dark matches and house shows when he was 20. "When I first get started with WWE on some dark matches and house shows, I was like 20, 21," Smith said. "I was quite young, and it was definitely a very good experience, but at the same time I wasn't really ready. I hadn't grown up yet. Not to say I was immature, but I just hadn't grown up -- from a physical standpoint as far as filling out and naturally tarning hard and letting it all sort of happen."
In addition to Smith, there are a number of other second generation wrestlers trying to make names for themselves in WWE. Smith believes he's better than all of them, including Ted DiBiase, Jr.
"Well, this may sound kind of brash, but I think that I'm better than all of them. Joe Hennig is good. Ted DiBiase Jr. has certainly worked hard enough to get to his position, but they aren't from the dungeon," Smith said. "It's only going to be a matter of time before I go up to SmackDown, and then I'm going to show the wrestling world exactly why I am the past, present and future."
Smith feels being the son of "The British Bulldogg" and being a member of the legendary Hart family has helped him get his foot in the door, whereas he probably wouldn't have received the opportunity otherwise. Smith hopes to take advantage of his opportunity in WWE.
"I feel I have great ability, but there's no question being a member of the Hart family has helped me land a job here," he said. "I'm not sure what the fans are going to think. Are they going to compare me to him? Are they going to think, 'Oh, yeah, he's all right, but he will never be as good as his dad.' Being a part of my family does help, but at the same time you really have to step it up."
Masahiro Chono has said in New Japan Wrestling that he wants to team with Kevin Nash at the upcoming Tokyo Dome show and be a member of the Main Event Mafia. Chono wrestled for WCW and was a top member of NWO Japan during the NWO's days in WCW.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Looking for a win after Sundays loss in the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, Mark Henry came to Providence ready to trounce the fighting Irishman, Finlay. Watch all of the action unfold in the ECW Quick Cut and check out WWE.coms exclusive photos.
Mark Henry vs. Finlay (No-contest) (WATCH | PHOTOS) With no love lost between the two, Finlay and Mark Henry battled it out in front of the capacity crowd in the Dunkin' Donuts Center. But before a winner could be determined, chaos ensued when WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas forced Hornswoggle into the ring and Henry hoisted him off the mat. Going into fatherly protection mode, Finlay smashed the Worlds Strongest Man in the knee with his shillelagh, causing him to go down in pain. Next, the fighting Irishman jumped from the second rope, driving Henry to the canvas again.
Just when it looked like Finlay had Henry where he wanted, the father had to once again come to the rescue of his son, who Atlas was ready to pummel outside the ring. Finlay exited the ring and used his trusty shillelagh to take down the powerful Atlas. Henry retaliated, striking Finlay in the back of the head and slamming him into the ramp barrier. But it was Finlay who ended it, when he viciously smashed both Atlas and Henry with his shillelagh to rescue his son from their grip.
Jack Swagger def. Tommy Dreamer (PHOTOS) In Tommy Dreamers domain an Extreme Rules Match the ECW Original took on the younger, cockier Jack Swagger in a match that included Kendo sticks, steel chairs, garbage cans and a table. After a few near pinfalls from each Superstar, The All-American American abruptly ended the encounter when he drove Dreamer through the table with a commanding Swagger Bomb. The maneuver earned Swagger his second consecutive victory over Dreamer.
DJ Gabriel def. local athlete (PHOTOS) DJ Gabriel is proving to be a shining star in ECW General Manager Theodore Longs New Superstar Initiative. With lovely Alicia Fox in his corner at ringside, the newcomer picked up his second win by destroying his opponent with a Flying European Uppercut.
ECW champ Matt Hardy told The Post and Courier last week that he has re-signed with WWE.
Hardy, who recently suffered an injury to his previously surgically repaired left knee during an ECW title match against Fit Finlay, says the knee is doing much better and he will compete at tonights Survivor Series pay-per-view.
I hyperextended it and tore ligaments in the back of it midway through the European tour, said Hardy. I had to wrestle on television a couple times after that, but what do you do? You wrap it up and go. But Im pretty good at being responsible whenever I do get injured, and I do what I need to do as far as icing and heating and giving it the treatment it needs.
Hardy is taking a few days off prior to the pay-per-view and seeing a chiropractor.
Its going to be fine. I was lucky. I had three or four days to kind of heel and rehab it. Its one of those things. It comes with the territory.
Mike Johnson is reporting that Gail Kim will be entertaining on the Smackdown brand when she makes her WWE return. Kim was at this week's tapings to shoot promotional photos and chroma-key footage backstage.
The former TNA Knockout Champion and WWE Women's Champion could possibly make her WWE return as soon as tonight's Smackdown tapings in Albany, NY.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Chris Jericho attempted to hijack World Heavyweight Champion John Cenas return to Raw, but was attacked by The Champ. Cena then gave Jericho an opportunity to confront him face-to-face, coming out to a thunderous reception from all those in attendance. The World Heavyweight Champion explained the difference between himself and Jericho, stating that he actually cares about the many members of the WWE Universe.
After the first-ever Undisputed Champion once again stated his intention to beat Cena at Armageddon and continued to belittle the WWE Universe, The Champ snapped. The World Heavyweight Champion proceeded to brutalize Jericho, throwing him against the announce table, bludgeoning him with the steel stairs and finally locking him into an STFU.

Following the match, Miz & Morrison took out their frustration by attacking Mysterio and Michaels, but JBL, who had been observing the entire match from his limo, rushed to the ring, preventing any further harm from coming to his opposing Survivor Series captain by delivering a huge boot to John Morrisons face. JBL later admitted that his act was the result of a mutually beneficial offer he had made to The Showstopper earlier in the day, though Michaels was still in the process of considering it.
Later, Rey Mysterio was interviewed by Todd Grisham about his match against The Miz next week as part of the Intercontinental Title Tournament. The session was interrupted by Mike Knox, however, who came in and stared at Mysterio, attempting to intimidate the Ultimate Underdog in much the same was as he did Evan Bourne the week prior.
