Booker T considering a WWE return instead of TNA?

Booker T considering a WWE return instead of TNA?
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 01/28/2011 at 04:10 PM

According to PWInsider.com, former world champion Booker T has canceled his scheduled appearance at this weekend’s New Orleans Comic Con at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Regarding a surprise appearance at Sunday’s Royal Rumble PPV, he was in discussions with World Wrestling Entertainment officials a few weeks ago regarding a potential return.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reports that there is actually a "pretty good chance" it could happen. The word is that Booker T has at least considered appearing at the Rumble and it's possible WWE made him a good offer to ensure he doesn't return to TNA as part of the Main Event Mafia.

We open with a recap of last week's ongoing situation between Kurt Angle and Jeff & Karen Jarrett, culminating with Immortal beating Kurt down and then Abyss coming out of the entranceway and collapsing with Janice buried in his back, and then Crimson coming out to warn Immortal that they're coming.

We head to the Impact Zone as Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring to address the crowd, telling us that he came out here to speak with the Jarretts in peace and put their heat behind them. Instead, the Jarretts decided to dig at Kurt's wounds and make it personal even though he didn't want to go down that road. Angle said he'd retire if he lost at Bound For Glory and he hasn't wrestled since, but Jeff Jarrett's forcing his hand and making him do what a man has to do. Angle is the best in the world and when he comes to a crossroads, he looks to the fans because they're the best in the world, and he wants to know how many of them want to see Kurt Angle in the ring one more time to beat the living (beep) out of Jeff Jarrett? Okay, we knew this was coming: Eric Bischoff comes out with his gang and says he's tired of listening to Angle trying to con the people into getting him back on the roster. Bischoff says he's retired and tells him to raise horses or play golf or something because his wrestling days are over, but if he wants an ass kicking, then he came to the right place. Bischoff sends Immortal down to the ring and they beat Angle down in the ring by virtue of their overwhelming numbers as Flair, Bischoff, and the Jarretts watch from the top of the ramp. Suddenly, Crimson runs in and clears out the ring with a baseball bat, and Flair says he doesn't care what his story is because next week, they're going to stick They up their own asses. He tells Angle that if he wants to wrestle again, Flair's lifted the ban and he's got Jeff Jarrett tonight. The Jarretts freak out on Flair, but Flair tells them to relax because Angle and his dumbass partner have Jarrett, and Beer Money, and Kazarian, and Gunner & Muffin (whose names Flair doesn't seem to know), and Rob Terry.

After commercial, we go to Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair in the office where Bischoff is chewing Flair out for letting Angle back in after how hard they worked to manipulate Angle into putting himself in retirement. Flair says that he's not drinking the Kool Aid and promises that Angle's going down tonight.

Tonight: Dixie Carter will address the fans and Ken Anderson will face Matt Hardy!

Now let's head to the ring for our opening match...

Elimination Match: Sarita, Madison Rayne & Tara vs Mickie James, Angelina Love & Velvet Sky

Winter grabs Angelina on her way to the ring to try and keep her from going out there without her, and Angelina finally lays down the law and says that Velvet is her BFF and Winter will have to deal with it. The Beautiful People leave and Winter throws a fit and starts banging on the walls and screaming. The match starts out as a pier six brawl with all the girls fighting it out in the ring. Mickie and Madison go to the floor, as do Velvet and Sarata, and they leave Tara alone in the ring with Angelina as the legal participants. Tara's still selling the elbow so Angelina twists the arm with a wristlock but Tara kicks Angelina and tags out to Madison. Angelina goes through her as well and tags to Mickie, but Madison runs and tags Sarita in and the two of them do a chain wrestling sequence until Mickie tags out to Velvet, and Velvet now beats Sarita up, sweeping the legs and then hitting a diving dropkick, but Sarita counters a flying headscissors into a backbreaker. Velvet gets a straitjacket drop and goes for the cover, but Madison comes in and nails Velvet and holds her so Madison can nail Velvet with the loaded glove but Velvet moves and Madison nearly nails Sarita but stops at the last second. Velvet sends Madison to the floor but Sarita gets a rollup to eliminate Velvet and then all hell breaks loose in the ring and Mickie somehow knocks Madison out with her own glove to eliminate her, and then Sarita immediately cradles Mickie and eliminates her as well. So now we're down to a 2-on-1 with Angelina by herself against both Sarita and Tara as we go to commercial.

We come back and Angelina nails Sarita with a leg lariat for 2 as we take a moment for an instant replay to see that Madison knocked herself out by falling on her own glove right before she got eliminated. Speaking of head trauma, we continue our break in the action to look backstage at Velvet Sky writhing around on the floor holding her head. Now why would she be doing that? Angelina continues to hold her own against both heels until Tara nails Angelina with her elbow brace and Sarita covers for 2. Tara and Sarita now tag in and out on Angelina and continue to work her over with Tara continuing to sell her elbow on every single move she performs on Angelina. Angelina suddenly hit the Botox Injection out of nowhere on Tara to eliminate her and then Sarita comes right in with an O'Connor Roll and then Angelina reverses to one of her own for the come from behind victory.

    Winner: Angelina Love

We go backstage to Kurt Angle, who's talking to somebody on the phone and saying they need to speed up the process and he needs them here. Who was Kurt talking to? Maybe we'll find out...after this commercial!

Matt Hardy's backstage talking about how Ken Anderson got lucky and he thinks that saying his name twice is stupid, and his purpose tonight is to make sure that Anderson doesn't even make it to next Thursday and he's going to do it for his brother thanks to the cold blood flowing through his icy veins.

Frankie Kazarian joins us on commentary for our next match...

X-Division #1 Contender's Tournament: Amazing Red vs Max Buck vs Chris Sabin

Seems like this is the first of three qualifying matches for a final three way to determine the #1 contender to the X Division Title, and each man gives prematch comments talking about how they're going to win this match and then become X Division Champion. Chris Sabin clears the ring and then Red comes in and do a fast paced exchange ending in the indy stalemate. Max comes in and tosses Sabin and then he goes after Red and works him over in the corner, but misses a charge and Red clears him out with a flying headscissors and then goes for a dive, but Sabin cuts him off with a clothesline for 2 and then springs out of the corner and hits a dive on Max on the floor. Sabin springboard into the ring and gets a thumb in the eye from Max, who then tosses Red and rolls Sabin up for 2. Buck with a cartwheel dropkick for 2 and then gets a chinlock as we see Jeremy choking Red on the floor with his boot. Red breaks free and comes in with a double missile dropkick and a tilt-a-whirl DDT for 2. Red goes for a springboard something but Sabin catches him and Rolls The Dice off the top rope for 2 and Max gets a Victory Dog on Sabin for 2. Red hits Code Red on Sabin, but Jeremy jumps on the apron to distract the referee and keep him from making the count. Red nails Jeremy and then goes up top, but Jeremy yanks him down and crotches him on the top rope, allowing Max to hit a top rope DDT for the win.

    Winner: Max Buck

Karen Jarrett walks in on Jeff and asks what he's doing and Jeff says he's getting ready for his match. Karen says Kurt was on the phone calling for backup, but Jarrett says he was probably just on the phone looking for protein bars and tells Karen to loosen him up.

Jeff Hardy is backstage, and looks like he's been sleeping on a park bench all week. AND HE'S WALKING!

The Beautiful People are backstage and Velvet Sky is telling Angelina that Winter knocked her out while Angelina was in the ring. Angelina asked if she was sure it was Winter and not Sarita since Sarita's a crazy Mexican. Angelina's words, not mine. Velvet is convinced it was Winter and she storms out.

We go to a video package looking back at the rise of Ken Anderson: Babyface Asshole, Jeff Hardy's turn to the Dark Side, and Anderson's World Title victory at Genesis, followed by Anderson talking about how he could crap a better looking World Title belt than the one Jeff Hardy created.

Speaking of Jeff Hardy, he (or a homeless man who looks just like him) comes strolling out to the ring to let the fans know that he is troubled by them because he's been destroying himself for years for them, but they're just a bunch of marks who don't care about him. Turning at Bound For Glory was the smartest thing he ever did because he is TNA, and now he wants to address the asshole becuase they're all a bunch of assholes. Ken Anderson beat him at Genesis but he's seven days away from his rematch, and when he gets his title back he's going to shove that moment up all their asses. Now Ken Anderson's music hits, and the WWE Divas Champion himself comes out to the ring to have a word with Mr Hardy. Anderson says Hardy sure does bitch a lot, and he thought he knew that the only things that matter in this business are Ws and Ls, and he's got a big W. He also notes that it has Hardy's face on it, and that's because he took it from Hardy. Hardy looks really angry. It's all about that belt, and next week he's going to continue being the Total Nonstop Action, Total Nonstop Asshole World Champion...Champion.

Crimson is backstage saying he was here for his brother Red and he always will be, but he was given a very lucrative offer he couldn't refuse, and next week we'll find out what They have planned. We then look at what Crimson did to Abyss last week, and we discover that Abyss has suffered nerve damage to his spine and will be out indefinitely.

Velvet Sky comes out to the ring holding the back of her head, calls Winter a bitch, and tells her she can't come to TNA and just break up the Beautiful People, she can't show up out of nowhere and attack her from behind, and if Angelina won't take care of her ass, she will, and she tells Winter to get in the ring with her right now. Winter comes out to the ring and Velvet goes out to the floor and attacks her, ramming her into the apron over and over and then into the guardrail. Velvet lays in kicks and chops and Winter bails into the ring but Velvet follows her in and bashes her head into the mat as she screams at Winter that Angelina is her partner, not Winter's. Suddenly Winter screams in Velvet's face and Velvet freezes, giving Winter the opening to take her down and try to rip Velvet's head off. Finally Angelina comes into the ring and pulls Winter off of Velvet, and Angelina tells her to get out of the ring as Velvet stands there sneering at Velvet before suddenly breaking into a smile as she backs her way up the ramp. Angelina tries to help Velvet out of the ring but Velvet breaks away from her and storms off to the back.

The Pope is backstage, and he's...WALKING!

We're back from commercial, and the Pope is out to address the Congregation. A few weeks ago, Pope allowed his emotions to get the best of him and he may have said some stuff he shouldn't have, and he's out here right now to do what none of us would ever do: he's going to lead by example and confess. So many people watching this are sitting next to someone they can't stand and act like everything's great, then wait for them to leave and stab them in the back, there's people who are going to finish watching Impact and get to bed and they know they're sleeping with the enemy, but they do it for the kids. But as the Pope, he's bigger and better than that, and he's better than all the fans, and he's going to kneel down and say right now to Samoa Joe...Joe...I don't like you, I don't like who you are, I don't like what you stand for, and asks who goes around in modern society saying "I'm gonna kill you", who sits in the crowd chanting "Joe's gonna kill you", and he's not going to bother with him because there's no hope and he can't work wonders. But what he can do is give a member of his Congregation the chance next week to follow Pope's lead and come onto Confession With The Pope and confess their faults, and he's going to do what he's always done and change this world one smile at a time. Pope has spoken.

We go back to Immortal's locker room as Flair gives his crew (and Eric Young, who is at the meeting for some reason) a pep talk and tells Rob Terry that he looks like a million dollars, but is nobody until he grinds someone. Gold medals don't matter in their world, and he tells Immortal to go get them. Immortal storms out the door to take care of business as Flair asks Young who the hell he is, and Young holds up the Legends/Global/TV Title belt and says he's the champion. Flair said he's no champion because that's a piece of crap that they threw out, and then he throws Young out of their locker room.

We see a video package looking back at the announcement that Hulk Hogan was coming on board at TNA, and everything that has happened since then, culminating in Hogan and Bischoff stealing the company from Dixie and Immortal running rampant over TNA, and then Dixie presenting the injunction on Thanksgiving night. We then go out to Mike Tenay and Taz, who have Dixie Carter on the phone and ask her for her thoughts on next week's ruling on the legal proceedings regarding the status of the company. She says she's confident that things will work out in her favor and her attorneys have assured her that she'll be back in control after next week. We then go to Eric Bischoff, who says that she's been drinking her own Kool Aid for so long that she can't tell the difference between Kool Aid and scotch. Two things will happen next week: Jeff Hardy will regain the WWE Divas Title, and Hulk Hogan will prevail in the lawsuit and everything will be as they should be with Immortal in control. Bischoff also puts the They thing in the same category as the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus: there is no They.

Ken Anderson is backstage, and he's...WALKING! Matt Hardy's backstage as well, and he's...CONVULSING!

    Time for our next match...

Matt Hardy vs TNA Champion Ken Anderson

They tie up and Matt uses his overwhelming mass to drive Anderson to the corner, but Anderson comes out fighting and Matt tries to climb the corner, but can't seem to make it to the top rope so he takes Anderson's arm and snaps it across the top rope, then hits a single arm DDT for 2. Hardy works the wristlock and slams the elbow over his shoulder and then repeatedly rams Anderson's shoulder into the ringpost several times until the referee stands in the way to prevent further damage. Hardy works the hammerlock and takes Anderson down to the mat, but Anderson makes it to his feet and fights his way free and runs over Hardy with a clothesline, running elbow, and neckbreaker for 2. Anderson picks Hardy up for a fireman's carry but can't seem to support his weight, and Hardy slips out and hits a Death Valley Driver for 2 and then goes for the Twist Of Hate, but Anderson slips out and, with a Herculean effort, picks Hardy back up and (very quickly) delivers a Finlay Roll for 2. Anderson goes for the Mic Check but Hardy blocks and hits the Side Effect for 2, but goes for an arrogant cover and Anderson rolls Hardy to his back for 3.

    Winner: Ken Anderson

Anderson goes to leave but Jeff Hardy runs out of the back and nails Anderson, then rolls him into the ring and the Hardys beat Anderson down 2-on-1. Rob Van Dam's music hits and he comes running out to make the save and spinkicks Matt as Jeff bails out the second he sees RVD and heads for the hills.

Kurt Angle & Crimson are WALKING backstage, and Angle tells Crimson not to worry, because they won't be alone out there. We're at commercial.

    It's main event time!

Kurt Angle & Crimson vs Jeff Jarrett, Frankie Kazarian, Rob Terry, AJ Styles, Beer Money, Gunner & Murphy I always love when the main event starts at 10:56, that's when I know I'm in for a real quality match. Styles is out in street clothes, and Jeff Jarrett is nowhere to be seen. Roode and Crimson start and Roode drives Crimson to the corner and unloads with boots and rights and beats Crimson down in the corner, but Crimson comes back with a leaping clothesline off the ropes and a Falcon Arrow suplex for 2. Crimson tags Angle in but Roode takes Angle to the corner and tags Kazarian in, and Angle catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker so Kazarian tags out to Storm and they jockey for position until Angle gets an overhead belly-to-belly suplex and then takes out the entire Immortal team on the apron. Storm with a lungblower from behind and Flair nearly topples over the top rope yelling at Angle, but Storm goes for a superkick and Angle ducks so Storm hits the referee. Angle hits the Angle Slam on Storm, but now the entire group start to beat Angle and Crimson down, and now Jeff Jarrett comes out with his full entrance with music and pyro. He tells the rest of Immortal to back off and he waits for Angle to get to his feet and goes for a punch, but Angle ducks and hits a German Suplex so Immortal all bum rush Angle and beat him down again as Jarrett eggs them on. Jarrett finally hits the Stroke and Jackson James slides in to count 3.

Winners: Jeff Jarrett, Frankie Kazarian, Rob Terry, AJ Styles, Beer Money, Gunner & Murphy

Karen gives Jeff a big kiss as Immortal celebrates. They continue beating Angle down even after the match, and suddenly Matt Morgan's music hits and he comes into the ring to make the save and he gets swarmed and overwhelmed by the numbers, too. Suddenly, the lights go out and the sirens hit, and when they come back up, Scott Steiner is in the ring with a lead pipe and he clears Immortal out. Immortal backs up the rampway in fear as Steiner stands there swearing at them and daring them to come back and fight him. Steiner turns to Angle and they share a smile and a nod as we go off the air.

    Concern Over WrestleMania

    Concern Over WrestleMania

    - There continues to be great concern amongst WWE officials over the match line-up for WrestleMania 27.

While it's likely that WWE will produce a strong wrestling card, the major point of concern is that it will take more than that to attract the masses and draw the type of revenue that is expected of the organization's grandest event of the year.

    - It's said that the situation between Ric Flair and TNA had been building up for weeks although nobody could point to the exact reasons why.

TNA and Flair have apparently worked things out as he is expected to be at TNA's live event in Scotland tomorrow.

Vince McMahon Meets with UFC Boss

Vince McMahon Meets with UFC Boss
Posted by Steve Carrier on 01/25/2011 at 10:34 PM

On the same day two weeks ago (January 12) that UFC President Dana White shot down online rumors of Brock Lesnar appearing at WrestleMania XXVII in Atlanta, Georgia, he met with Vince McMahon in New York City. It was largely assumed that McMahon would make a proposition for Lesnar to appear at WrestleMania XXVII. It is said that while their encounter was cordial, nothing changed regarding the former WWE Champion appearing at the annual pay-per-view spectacular.

Of those talked to regarding the matter, no one within WWE believes Lesnar will be allowed to appear at the event.
“I don’t think he thought it was as hard as it turned out to be,” one company source stated regarding McMahon’s attempt to land Lesnar for WrestleMania XXVII.

It was not the first time McMahon and White have met. White said in a June 2008 interview that he had breakfast with the wrestling kingpin weeks prior to the interview. White has always been publicly respectful of McMahon, and one source feels that the UFC President notices similarities between himself and the WWE Chairman as promoters.

    Update On Ric Flair-Ireland Incident

    Update On Ric Flair-Ireland Incident
Posted by Amish Patel on 01/25/2011 at 06:23 PM

    * Read the original story on the incident HERE.

    - To update on the Ric Flair incident in Dublin, Ireland, it is said that Flair allegedly played hardball, not getting on the bus after his request for a financial advance was refused. As this kind of thing has occured before and with Flair refusing to get on the plane, a decision was made to leave him behind.

One source revealed that because of Flair's outburst, members of the roster were in favor of leaving Flair, some even mocking him, using his "signature promo lines" after the bus left without him.

There was also talk that Flair's legendary "partying" habits on the tour may have also had something to do with his decision not to get on the bus.

Finally, just to clarify, TNA management did not send Flair home. He was simply left behind after "blowing up" and subsequently refusing to travel, and is likely still in Europe.

CM Punk vs. Wade Barrett ended in a Double Disqualification

DETROIT – Six days prior to driving into Royal Rumble, the Raw roster shifted things into high gear in the Motor City. It was there that The New Nexus, The Corre and all the Superstars on the Raw roster began firing on all cylinders.

CM Punk vs. Wade Barrett ended in a Double Disqualification (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Trouble began brewing even before the bell rang. When CM Punk and Wade Barrett prepared to scuffle, they were backed up by those respective groups, The New Nexus and The Corre. Special guest referee John Cena, however, wasn’t taking any chances and decisively banned both factions from ringside.

Once the action kicked off, each Superstar fought as if their lives depended upon it. So intense was the skirmish, in fact, that the two appeared to disregard Cena’s instructions. As a result, the special guest referee had no choice but to disqualify each man, effectively banning both of their groups from the Royal Rumble.

Raw’s anonymous General Manager begged to differ. Instead, the GM reinstated both groups and demanded that Cena apologize to Punk and Barrett, or it would be he who would be banned from Rumble competition. Reluctantly, 2010’s WWE Superstar of the Year offered a contrite apology. He was then surrounded by members of both groups, who appeared eager to punish Cena. Before they could, however, Big Show and several members of the Raw roster emerged, resulting in one of the biggest, most brutal melees ever on Monday night – mere days before the biggest Rumble in history.

For all their boasting, The New Nexus actually bring the goods. Members Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty challenged WWE Tag Team Champions Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov in a non-title match. The CM Punk disciples proved they can handle their own when they overcame the international men of misery as their fellow Nexi looked on.

Maryse, Alicia Fox & Ted DiBiase def. The Bellas & U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
As love triangles go, the one involving The Bellas and United States Champion Daniel Bryan is a doozy. In a Six-Person Tag Team Match, Nikki couldn’t keep her head in the ring, focusing instead on sister Brie and the object of their mutual affection, Bryan. So distracted was she by the interaction between Brie and Bryan that she allowed Maryse to capitalize, bringing victory to her teammates, Ted DiBiase & Alicia Fox.

After the bout, Brie and Nikki made a shocking discovery. As the two barged into Bryan’s dressing room, they were greeted by the U.S. Champion kissing fellow Diva Gail Kim. The claws quickly came out, and Kim and The Bellas eventually had to be pulled apart.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. WWE Champion The Miz by Disqualification (WATCH |PHOTOS)
When two champions collide, sparks are bound to fly. And WWE Champion The Miz and World Heavyweight Champion Edge did not disappoint. As the two squared off, Edge’s SmackDown nemesis, Dolph Ziggler and girlfriend Vickie Guerrero watched from ringside.

Just when it appeared The Rated-R Superstar was aiming for the jugular, Ziggler grabbed his leg and hit Edge with a Zig Zag. The interference caused Edge to win by disqualification. Amid the chaos, Randy Orton slithered to the ring to avenge the vicious beatdown Miz and his assistant Alex Riley doled out last week. The Viper not only attacked Miz, causing the WWE Champion to win by disqualification, he went on a rampage against anyone he could coil his hands around until "The Awesome One" nailed him with a briefcase before slinking away up the entrance ramp.

Divas Champion Natalya def. Melina; Divas Title Match arranged (WATCH | PHOTOS)
The good news for Natalya? The Divas Champion successfully defended her title against Melina in a fevered battle. The bad news? Lay-Cool continues to haunt her. After the bout, WWE’s Mean Girls, Layla & Michelle McCool, informed Natalya that they were invoking their championship rematch clause and will clash with her this Sunday at Royal Rumble in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

Alberto Del Rio & King Sheamus def. Mark Henry & John Morrison (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Last week, The World’s Strongest Man put on clinic by outlasting 10 Superstars in an Over-the-Top Rope Challenge. This week, however, Alberto Del Rio & King Sheamus rained on the thunder and lightning duo of Henry & John Morrison. In fact, the moneyed Mexican surprised just about everyone when he managed to lock a cross armbreaker on The World’s Strongest Man and forced him to tap out.

The Corre confronted The New Nexus; Wade Barrett vs. CM Punk arranged
Wade Barrett isn’t going away – no matter how much we wish he would. The former leader of The Nexus confronted the man who replaced him, CM Punk, who had gleefully introduced his group’s newest member, Mason Ryan. This time, though, Barrett brought reinforcements – his new group, The Corre, including Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel.

Before the situation became too incendiary, Raw’s GM intervened to arrange a match pitting Barrett against Punk with one significant stipulation: The loser of the bout will see himself and his entire group exiled from the Royal Rumble Match. And the contest’s special guest referee? None other than John Cena!

World Heavyweight Champion Edge won an Over-the-Top Rope Challenge
Although we don’t know the identity of Raw’s anonymous General Manager, we do know this much; The GM can hold a grudge. When World Heavyweight Champion Edge visited Raw for a match with WWE Champion The Miz, the GM – who had previously clashed with The Rated-R Superstar – ordered him to participate in a Over-the-Top Rope Challenge featuring Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre and Tyson Kidd, all vying for the No. 40 spot in Sunday’s Royal Rumble.

Despite still nursing injuries he’d received at the hands of the new group The Corre, the World Heavyweight Champion managed to overcome the threesome to emerge victorious.

Shad Gaspard Calls Lance Cade A Backstabber

Shad Gaspard Calls Lance Cade A Backstabber
Posted by Dave Mitchell on 01/24/2011 at 05:08 PM

Final Bell Radio Recap with Shad Gaspard
    Host: Agahzi Giorgis
    Available at www.finalbellradio.com

What caused heat between Cryme Tyme and the team of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch: "Well, I mean, anybody who knows Lance Cade God rest the guy's soul. Lance was a great guy personally. Great father to his kids, great guy to hang out with and chill with. Lance Cade the person and Lance Cade the wrestler are two totally different people. Lance Cade the person is a guy that I would fight for in a bar. Lance Cade the wrestler is a guy that would stab me in the back, stab me in the gut, and who has stabbed several of his friends to keep his career going. That's what he was taught to do, so that's what he did."

His pay-per-view match with JTG and how it affected his push: "The outcome at the pay per view match kinda got messed up because we weren't given information that was vital to our match. It's one of those things where certain people don't give you information for good reason in their opinion. And the good reason is, the pay-per-view match would have put me over big and would have set off a chain of events that would have led to me being number one contender for the WWE title eventually but certain people decided not to chime in and tell me what was going to happen in the match."

Whether he's talked to TNA: "I've talked to several wrestlers that work for TNA about me coming over. I was actually supposed to go to TNA show a couple of times with a friends of mine but I was still with the company(WWE) so I didn't want to have a Highlander moment... I like TNA but I'd want to do something different if I came to TNA. I would want to make a boom rather than be like everybody else."

    Name association:

Shawn Michaels: "Ha (chuckles)....that's about it."

    John Cena: "Ha (chuckles)."

Chris Jericho: "My mentor and my brother."

    Vince McMahon: "Workhorse."

    - It appears as though Ric Flair has left TNA's tour of the United Kingdom.

The word is that Flair wanted a financial advance which was rejected by tour manager Craig Jenkins. As a result, Flair felt disrespected and decided to leave, not boarding the bus to leave Ireland for Germany.

ECW Original Works in Dark Match at RAW Last Night
Posted by Steve Carrier on 01/25/2011 at 11:20 AM

    - Former WWE star and ECW Original Nunzio was the referee for the William Regal vs. Percy Watson dark match before last night's RAW in Detroit, which Percy won.

Nunzio may be getting a second look as a WWE referee as he helped out at Madison Square Garden last month when only one referee could make it to the show due to weather.

Jack Swagger def. Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston (Non-title Amateur Wrestling Challenge)

TULSA, Okla. – Just nine days before the biggest Royal Rumble Match in history, Wade Barrett introduced the WWE Universe to The Corre.

Justin Gabriel def. World Heavyweight Champion Edge in a Non-title Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Before the main event between Edge and The Corre’s Justin Gabriel could begin, Vickie Guerrero emerged to inform the WWE Universe that her boyfriend Dolph Ziggler  – No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title (Match preview) – would be joining the announce team.

Thanks to interference by his fellow Corre members, Gabriel picked up a huge victory over The Rated-R Superstar. After the match, Edge was treated to the full wrath of the intimidating new faction – an attack that included the "sternum crushing" 450 Splash by Gabriel and Wasteland by Wade Barrett. As SmackDown came to a close, Ziggler took the opportunity to stand over Edge in a symbolic act of triumph.

The Miz and Edge confronted each other about their upcoming match on Raw (WATCH | PHOTOS)
When WWE Champion The Miz decided to once again make his presence known on SmackDown, World Heavyweight Champion Edge opted to interrupt him. The Awesome One claimed that he has big plans for their Champion vs. Champion Match on Raw this Monday night. The 10-time World Champion responded by telling Miz to get out of his ring. Alex Riley tried to add his two cents, only to be Speared by The Ultimate Opportunist.

Drew McIntyre def. Trent Barreta (WATCH | PHOTOS)
One week after suffering a surprise defeat at the hands of Trent Barreta, Drew McIntyre returned to his winning ways, hurling Barreta off the top rope to hand his prey a painful loss. After the bell, the “Chosen One’s” determined opponent further fueled McIntyre’s rage with a defiant blow. This led to a vicious assault by The Sinister Scotsman that attracted the disappointed admonishment of Kelly Kelly.

Jack Swagger def. Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a Non-title Amateur Wrestling Challenge (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Jack Swagger defeated Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston 10 points to nine in an Amateur Wrestling Challenge. After the match, however, Kingston hit The All-American American with Trouble in Paradise and an incredible high cross body.

Rey Mysterio def. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes (WATCH | PHOTOS)
The Ultimate Underdog reigned supreme over Cody Rhodes with an explosive 619-splash combination. After, Rhodes was seen holding his injured nose in horror, perhaps faced with the realization that his handsome face could be disfigured. It was later learned that the handsome Superstar's nose was in fact broken.

Beth Phoenix def. Layla (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In a display of impressive Diva dominance, Beth Phoenix overcame Layla with the Glam Slam, chalking up her second win over Team Lay-Cool in as many weeks.

Alberto Del Rio def. R-Truth (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Capitalizing on interference by Ricardo Rodriguez, Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth with the cross armbreaker.

While their match was in progress, commotion ensued in Theodore Long’s office when the SmackDown General Manager was found unconscious and he was taken to a local medical facility. It was unofficially reported later that Long suffered severe trauma to the back of the head. The Corre emphatically denied having anything to do with the GM's injuries and offered their assistance. Assuming control of SmackDown, Vickie Guerrero ordered that one member of The Corre face World Heavyweight Champion Edge in the main event. (Watch: Part 1 | 2 | 3 | 4)

Wade Barrett revealed the formation of The Corre (PHOTOS)
One week after Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson and Heath Slater unleashed a crippling onslaught upon Big Show, they came before the WWE Universe to declare themselves The Corre. All four members will be a part of the first-ever 40 Superstar Royal Rumble Match in nine days (Match preview).

Barrett stated that all four members of The Corre will be equals. When GM Teddy Long emerged to make it clear he would not tolerate the type of disruptions that The Nexus had caused on Raw, the members of The Corre insisted that he had misjudged them. They pledged to take SmackDown places it has never gone before.

One WWE main eventer has been telling people close to him that he's looking to leave the company when his current deal expires. Speculation is that wrestler is World Heavyweight Champion Edge, who has a deal until 2012.

It's said that three or four other WWE wrestlers are looking to leave when their contracts are up. In the past two years or so, names including The Hardys, MVP, Kaval, Jillian Hall, Shad Gaspard and others have all left WWE on their own.

Vince high on Sheffield but not Morrison?

Vince high on Sheffield but not Morrison?

    - According to former WWE creative team member John Piermarini, Vince McMahon is high on Skip Sheffield and sees him as potentially the #2 babyface in the company after John Cena.

    - A quote from Piermarini came out yesterday talking about how Vince McMahon doesn't see John Morrison as a main event babyface because McMahon doesn't feel Morrison could win a real fight. Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer talked about a similar story he heard regarding McMahon and Morrison. Around the period Morrison and Melina were dating, Melina supposedly hooked up with Batista. According to Meltzer, the story is that McMahon lost respect for Morrison when Morrison wouldn't at least challenge Batista to a real fight.

Great Khali Involved in Shooting Incident in India

Great Khali Involved in Shooting Incident in India
Posted by Steve Carrier on 01/22/2011 at 11:17 AM

    - WWE Superstar The Great Khali and his bodyguard were involved in a shooting at the home of an Indian politician Friday, according to the Aaj Tak news channel in India and Slam Wrestling. Khali was invited to the home of the politician as his grandson is a big fan.

Fans gathered outside of the home waiting for Khali. Children approached for Khali when he arrived to get photos and autographs but according to eyewitnesses, including the politician's relatives, Khali's bodyguard was hostile from the start, shoving children as they approached Khali. His bodyguard then allegedly grabbed a boy and beat him down. People tried to get the boy from Khali's bodyguard and that's when he started shooting into the crowd. Three people were seriously wounded in the incident.

Khali reportedly fled the scene but last word was that no charges have been filed and the Ludhiana police are being quiet on the matter.

Khali has been in India filming the reality show Big Boss and was set to return to WWE soon.

    New TNA Knockout Signed?

An apparent photoshoot for TNA's website with women's wrestler Divina Fly has leaked, leading to speculation that she has been signed. We noted recently that out of recent tryouts with her, El Generico and TJ Perkins, she was the most likely to be signed. Perkins has been expected to sign with TNA for a while but at last word had not.
