    Backstage Impression Of Arquette

    Backstage Impression Of Arquette
Posted by Amish Patel on 12/14/2010 at 11:39 AM

    - Everyone backstage at RAW yesterday were very happy to have David Arquette at the show. As I have reported before, Arquette is a big wrestling fan and aware of all the storylines and characters. Unlike some celebrities who only pay attention to the top stars, Arquette was said to have chatted to almost everyone in the locker room.

What Happened After WWE Raw Last Night
Posted by Steve Carrier on 12/14/2010 at 03:28 AM

After WWE Raw went off the air last night, John Cena & Randy Orton faced WWE Champion The Miz & Wade Barrett in a dark match main event.

John Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Barrett before pinning him for the win. Orton and Cena shook hands after the match and greeted fans at ringside. Cena posed at the top of the ramp and Orton went to the back.

Thanks to reader Ryan for passing along the following notes from Raw last night.

    John Cena def. David Otunga

NEW ORLEANS – In one of the most exciting awards ceremonies on television, bar none, Raw celebrated another year of the Slammy Awards. With the opening of each envelope, bombshells continued to drop throughout the broadcast. And the Slammy goes to…

John Cena won Slammy Award for WWE Superstar of the Year; Cena def. David Otunga (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS | PHOTOS OF ALL SLAMMY WINNERS)
The WWE Universe has stood by John Cena over the course of a difficult year. Their latest show of support came in the form of a Slammy Award for WWE Superstar of the Year, which was voted on by the WWE Universe, exclusively on WWE.com. After Cena’s acceptance speech, the Superstar changed gears to prepare for his match against David Otunga.

As a newly rehired employee, Cena showed the WWE Universe why he loves his job. He faced off against Otunga in singles competition. During the bout, Nexus leader Wade Barrett ordered the rest of Nexus off the stage and away from the ring, presumably to prevent them from assisting Otunga. If that was the Englishman’s intent, he succeeded wildly. Cena locked the STF on his Nexus opponent and forced Otunga to tap out. He then grabbed a chair and proceeded to repeatedly smash Otunga as Barrett, his opponent in a Chairs Match at WWE TLC, looked on uneasily.

Michael Cole won the Slammy Award for “And I Quote … ” Line of the Year (WATCH)
Michael Cole captured his second Slammy Award when he took home the golden statuette for the “And I Quote …” Line of the Year. He thanked his "Cole Miners" as well as The Miz for the honor.

Randy Orton def. David Arquette & Alex Riley in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Despite the odds, Randy Orton would not be denied. The Viper clashed with David Arquette & Alex Riley in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Although Orton has certainly proven himself, Arquette’s extensive résumé also includes a stint as former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Despite that, Orton demolished his hapless foes.

As WWE Champion The Miz observed his WWE TLC opponent from ringside, Orton pinned his assistant for the win. Afterward, Miz attacked Orton and set up a table in the center of the ring. Before he could splinter the pine, however, The Viper recovered and sent Arquette straight through.

Shawn Michaels won the Slammy Award for WWE Moment of the Year (WATCH)
Watching Shawn Michaels accept the Slammy Award for WWE Moment of the Year – even via satellite – many realized just how much they miss The Showstopper. Michaels won the accolade for his final match, but a lot of the WWE Universe is still holding out hope that it won’t be his last.

Edge def. Jack Swagger (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In his war on “all things stupid,” Edge explicitly called out Jack Swagger for a number of offenses, but after their match tonight, “The All-American American” was “smarting” pretty bad. The Ultimate Opportunist thwarted his opponent’s ankle lock when he leveled Swagger with a devastating Spear.

Michelle McCool won the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year; Raw GM arranged Lay-Cool vs. Divas Champion Natalya & Beth Phoenix in a Divas Tag Team Tables Match at WWE TLC (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Shortly after capturing a prestigious Slammy Award for Knucklehead Moment of the Year, Michelle McCool went for two – and scored. As one half of Lay-Cool, the callous blond ran a gauntlet in a Diva Battle Royal and, eventually, ousted Divas Champion Natalya to win the match and the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year.

Although she and partner Layla celebrated, their party was cut short. Raw’s GM announced that Lay-Cool must compete at WWE TLC against Natalya and her partner Beth Phoenix in a first-ever Divas Tag Team Tables Match!

Lay-Cool won the Slammy Award for Knucklehead Moment of the Year (WATCH)
The odd pairing of William Regal and JTG presented the Slammy for Knucklehead Moment of the Year to the mean pairing of Layla & Michelle McCool. The two clinched the award for losing a match to Mae Young. After a self-congratulatory speech, Lay-Cool headed to the ring to compete in a Diva Battle Royal for the Diva of the Year Slammy Award.

Sheamus vs. John Morrison ended in a Double Disqualification; Raw GM arranged Sheamus vs. John Morrison in a Ladder Match at WWE TLC (WATCH | PHOTOS)
The animosity between Sheamus and John Morrison was abundantly evident when the two faced off. So intense were they that each was disqualified for not separating under orders of the referee. To settle their differences, the Raw GM announced that the pair would face one another in a Ladder Match at WWE TLC with the winner of the bout becoming the No. 1 contender for the WWE Title.

Edge won the Slammy Award for “Oh Snap” Meltdown of the Year (WATCH)
Not only did Edge present the award for “Oh Snap” Meltdown of the Year, he also took home the Slammy himself. With his former tag team partner Christian at his side, The Rated-R Superstar locked it up when he destroyed the Raw GM’s computer.

“Angry Miz Girl” received Slammy Award for WWE Universe Fan Reaction of the Year; WWE Champion The Miz def. Rey Mysterio; Randy Orton vs. David Arquette & Alex Riley in a Handicap Match set (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
Looking a great deal happier than during her signature moment, “Angry Miz Girl,” whose real name is Cayley, accepted the Slammy Award for WWE Universe Fan Reaction of the Year. Afterward, WWE Champion The Miz swept in a snagged her statuette. Sigh.

The “Cleveland Screamer,” flanked by his assistant Alex Riley and Hollywood star David Arquette, talked smack about Randy Orton, who he will face in a Tables Match at the WWE TLC pay-per-view. Before Miz could retreat to the locker room area, Raw’s anonymous GM announced that The Awesome One must face former world champion Rey Mysterio.

The WWE Champion managed to fend off The Master of the 619 when Alberto Del Rio distracted him. But as Miz and his minions celebrated, the Raw GM arranged a second match. In this one, Riley & Arquette would team up against Orton in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

John Cena won Slammy Award for Holy %@*^ Move of the Year; Wade Barrett rehired John Cena (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
Just after John Cena won the award for Holy %@*^ Move of the Year – thanks to nailing Batista with an Attitude Adjustment from a car and through a stage – another Holy %@*^ moment occurred. Wade Barrett took to the ring and announced that he was rehiring his arch-nemesis John Cena, but only under two conditions. First, Cena must face his former Nexus boss in a Chairs Match at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs this Sunday. Secondly, Cena was forced to battle David Otunga later in the evening.

“Dashing” Cody Rhodes def. Mark Henry (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? In his match against Mark Henry, “Dashing” Cody Rhodes not only defeated The World’s Strongest Man, he looked good doing it, too – but of course.

Pee-wee Herman won the Slammy Award for Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year (WATCH)
Pee Wee’s big adventure continues! WWE Tag Team Champions Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov revealed that the star of stage and screen had won for Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year, after which Herman offered his acceptance speech via TitanTron.

CM Punk won the Despicable Me Slammy Award; U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan & Kofi Kingston def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler & Ted DiBiase (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
Kelly Kelly and Tyson Kidd were on hand to introduce the winner of the Despicable Me Slammy Award for the most treacherous act of 2010. Before revealing the winner, though, Kidd took a moment to introduce his mountainous bodyguard, Jackson Andrews. He then announced the recipient as CM Punk, for his harassment of Rey Mysterio’s family. Well deserved, if not incredibly vile.

After Punk’s acceptance speech, a couple of other despicable Superstars, Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler & Ted DiBiase, teamed up to challenge U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan & Kofi Kingston in a tag team match. Although Ziggler & DiBiase waged an aggressive offense, Bryan & Kingston managed to surmount the challenge for the victory.

The debut of The Nexus won a Slammy Award for Shocker of the Year; Big Show def. Wade Barrett by Count-out (WATCH: PART 1 | PART 2 | PHOTOS)
Kicking off the festivities for the prestigious Slammy Awards, surprise guest and former WCW World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette announced the winner of the Slammy for Shocker of the Year: The debut of The Nexus. As the group’s leader – for now – Wade Barrett accepted the statuette on Nexus’ behalf.

After a rather self-serving speech, the Englishman was in for yet another shocker. The anonymous Raw General Manager arranged a match pitting him against Big Show. As it appeared The World’s Largest Athlete was poised for victory, Barrett snatched his Slammy and fled up the entrance ramp, allowing Show to win by count-out.

Paul Bearer Comments On The End Of His Character

Paul Bearer Comments On The End Of His Character
Posted by Amish Patel on 12/11/2010 at 09:02 AM

-- Paul Bearer was apparently written off television on Friday's episode of SmackDown as the show concluded with Kane pushing a set of ladders over a railing, sending the wheelchair and its occupant to the concrete floor below. The World Heavyweight Champion then realized that he had accidentally taken out his father.

"What an abrupt end to a fun unexpected ride. Will I ever return? Never say never," Bearer wrote on Twitter.

    Eric Young's Contract

    Eric Young's Contract

-- Regarding Eric Young's contract holdout with TNA Wrestling last month, he indicated to friends that he believed WWE would show interest in signing him and thus he held out for a better deal than the Nashville based organization initially offered. There was apparently no interest on WWE's part in Young's services and he re-signed with TNA Wrestling for less money than he was looking for. He was, however, granted freedom to accept independent bookings without company approval.

Chris Masters def. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes (Masterlock Challenge)
WWE Tag Team Champions Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov def. Chavo Guerrero & Drew McIntyre
    Divas Champion Natalya def. Layla
Edge & Rey Mysterio def. Alberto Del Rio (Handicap Match)

DAYTON, Ohio – Just nine days before WWE TLC, World Heavyweight Champion Kane’s inability to distinguish between Edge’s mind games and reality caused him to accidently take out Paul Bearer.

Edge & Rey Mysterio def. Alberto Del Rio in a Handicap Match (WATCH | PHOTOS)
World Heavyweight Champion Kane failed to show up in order to team with Alberto Del Rio against Edge & Rey Mysterio. As a result, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long changed the main event into an impromptu Handicap Match.

While the match was in progress, Kane charged to the ring and attacked The Ultimate Opportunist. Edge quickly gained the advantage and took off, with “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” hot on his heels. Mysterio and Del Rio battled on. In the end, The Ultimate Underdog reigned supreme over Del Rio with an explosive 619-splash combination. What will happen when the bitter adversaries meet in a Chairs Match at WWE TLC in nine days? (Match preview)

When Kane caught up with The Rated-R Superstar, he was standing near what appeared to be Paul Bearer, sitting at the top of two ladders, very close to the edge of a high overhang. Dismissing it as another one of his maniacal No. 1 contender’s tricks, The Big Red Monster proceeded to push the ladders over the railing, sending the wheelchair and its occupant to the concrete floor below. Only then did the horrific Superstar realize that it had been the real “Father of Destruction.” (WATCH)

Divas Champion Natalya def. Layla (WATCH | PHOTOS)
After Beth Phoenix prevented Michelle McCool from interfering in her “flawless” partner’s match – dropping her to the ringside floor with absolute authority – Natalya made Layla tap out to the family Sharpshooter.

WWE Tag Team Champions Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov def. Chavo Guerrero & Drew McIntyre (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Four days after Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov captured the WWE Tag Team Titles on Monday Night Raw, the uncommon pair journeyed to SmackDown and triumphed over Guerrero and his hand-picked partner, Drew McIntyre. After Santino overcame Guerrero with the Cobra, the “Chosen One” hit his own partner with a post-match Future Shock DDT.

Chris Masters def. “Dashing” Cody Rhodes in a Masterlock Challenge (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Though Cody Rhodes agreed to take the Masterlock Challenge, he delayed it from beginning several times in order to try and make his surroundings more “dashing” –  wiping down the seat, applying hand sanitizer and even offering Chris Masters a nail file. When Masters slapped the handsome Superstar in the face, Rhodes completely lost his composure. As Rhodes turned to a mirror to make sure his face was still “perfect,” The Masterpiece used the distraction to lock in his favorite maneuver and win the challenge.

Kofi Kingston def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler by Disqualification (WATCH | PHOTOS)
In an intense Intercontinental Championship Match, Kofi Kingston looked as if he might reclaim the title with the help of Trouble in Paradise. However, as he went for the cover, Jack Swagger came from nowhere to pull the high-flying No. 1 contender out of the ring. Cinching in his dreaded ankle lock for the second time of the night, Swagger gave Kofi a win by disqualification, but prevented him from capturing the title.

Hornswoggle def. The Soaring Eagle (WATCH | PHOTOS)
With the beautiful Rosa Mendes in his corner, Hornswoggle took on The Soaring Eagle. Using an array of hilarious tricks, Swoggle picked up a victory over his feathered foe with the Tadpole Splash.

Jack Swagger def. Kaval (WATCH | PHOTOS)
One week ago, Jack Swagger lost an Intercontinental Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match to Kofi Kingston. This time, despite Kaval’s incredible efforts to battle back from a leg injury, a focused All-American American used “The World Warrior’s” damaged appendage to defeat him with the ankle lock.

Following the match, Swagger informed the WWE Universe that he was protesting the Intercontinental Championship Match between Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston and that any attempt to have such a match without him was “unacceptable.”

World Heavyweight Champion Kane begged Edge to give Paul Bearer back (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Weeks after Edge abducted Paul Bearer, “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” pleaded that The Master Manipulator return his father. When Edge appeared, wielding a chair, he ignited another insane pursuit in which the nine-time World Champion destroyed more fake Paul Bearers.

Injury updates on Rey Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler

Injury updates on Rey Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler
Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 12/08/2010 at 05:35 PM

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

    - Dolph Ziggler returned to action this past week after being kept out since the Survivor Series pay-per-view, due to a concussion from a stiff Kaval kick in their Intercontinental Title match. Ziggler said on Twitter that he wasn't injured but sources say otherwise.

    - Rey Mysterio has recovered from his recent ear infection but has been having shoulder problems this past week. Rey visited Dr. James Andrews who diagnosed the injury as a tear, but didn't feel like Rey needed surgery.

Rey was told he needed rehab on the shoulder and that he needed to take a few weeks off. Rey still worked this past weekend and the SmackDown tapings. Rey's match with Alberto Del Rio at TLC was originally planned to be a Ladder Match but that was changed due to the injury.

    - Several other WWE stars are currently working banged up. One wrestler notes that a lot of the talents need time off and this year they don't have the usual Christmas break that they've had in the past.
