Please forgive the blanket e-mail but...
You may or may not know that for the last couple of years, I have been asked to be a judge for the 'Movember Gala Partee' in London (no, not bad spelling, check out http://uk.movember.com/about/ ) in aid of 'The Prostate Cancer Charity'.
Movember started in Australia where Mo is slang for moustache.
Men are encouraged to take part by growing a Mo throughout November to raise funds for, and awareness of prostate cancer.
As you know Ive had a Mo for years, so I decided to be the only man (well, I hope Im the only man) to sport TWO Mos throughout November, see the attached photos, one of which is with another Mo Mentor, Chris Kamara.
In the UK, 30,000 men every year are diagnosed with prostate cancer and one man every hour dies from this disease. Its difficult to get us, men, to go to the doctor when were ill and almost impossible, for a check up! Most of the deaths occur because we only get checked out when symptoms occur but often there are no symptoms until the disease is more advanced. If its diagnosed early, the prognosis is good so its vital to get checked early. Our ladies have done a fantastic job to raise awareness of breast and cervical cancer, so why delay?
