Alexa paid my attention to the fact that I hadn't been writing in English for almost a a month. Briefly I can say that month has been a bit different than the previous ones. Less biking, less camping, more luxury... Meeting the right people and the right places made me stay a bit longer in some of these places than I had thought.
In Nicaragua I had a blast coming down a volcano on a board and I also ran into some pretty cool backpackers I had met before. I made a lastminute change of plans and didn't continue by bike, but agreed on renting a car together with them. We ended up in the little surfers paradise San Juan del Sur(f); where again I found a very, very good reason to stay a couple of days more...
When I finally got on the bicycle again, it was only to get to the Costa Rican border. Because there I called some friends from my hometown who were traveling in Costa Rica and they picked me up in there car. Togehter with them I've been cruising along the beaches and the cosy little towns untill we ended up in an amazingly beautifull resort.
After having the batteries charged in this resort, I thought I was immortal and left for a ride without any water... Dehydration kept me in a dark hotelroom for a couple of days. By now I'm fully recovered and enjoying the (sometimes rough) rides through the stunning nature of this country. The picture with this post is not from an actual crash, but from an almost crash. I was glad to see the first bikelanes in more than 2000 kilometers, but taking this downhill I was not so glad with the rediculously deep gutter they sent me through. It smacked the bike pretty badly, throwing the luggage off, but luckily (again) I managed to avoid the crash...
Rightnow I'm very close to the border with Panama and I hope to reach Panama City in a weeks time. A bit of a rush perhaps, we'll see what happens...
