It's hard to believe that we see everyday dead people on tv because of war and we do nothing about it. The American soldiars torture prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and no one does anything about it. Of course there came a investigation after photographs were spread all over the world with soldiers who were hitting and abusing prisoners. But how can we be sure that the situation has changed?
It's been 3 million years ago that the human kind developed. But still even when we had had so much opportunities and time and power to make this world a beautiful place to live, we made a mess of it. If we won't succeed and bring peace in this world, in this century, then I'm afraid thre's no time left for us. We already ruined the nature and now there is still war in this world, what will we do: make this situation better or destroy the world forever?
There are many, many ways to spread peace. But at our age (<18 year) isn't it always easy to spreading peace, because nobody listen to children. So we have to spread peace at our level: you can be very nice to friends and never fight with them. That doen't help very much but all the little bits count. There are also special foundations which spread peace. Such as 'National Peace Foundation', 'Worldpeace is possible' and 'UN Messengers of Peace'.That are people who believe in the goodness of the people over the whole wide world. These are just a few foundations, there are a lot more foundationtions to. There is olso somethething like 'The Day of Peace': every year, people in all parts of the world honour peace in various ways on 21 September. And this already of 1981. So you see that there are a lot of ways to spread peace.
It's wonderful to know that there are people who are fighting against war and who are trying to help our earth and all the people. That's why Alfred Nobel invented the Nobel prices for outstanding achievements in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and for work in peace. This year there was an organistaion and a person who chared the Nobel price for peace. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore won the price for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.
Hi! For making a good mix between the sad reality and the world of hope and music, I have a song for you! It's the song No Bravery of James Blunt this is the text of it... (Don't forget my PS please...)
There are children standing here, Arms outstretched into the sky, Tears drying on their face. He has been here. Brothers lie in shallow graves. Fathers lost without a trace. A nation blind to their disgrace, Since he's been here.
And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. Only sadness.
Houses burnt beyond repair. The smell of death is in the air. A woman weeping in despair says, He has been here. Tracer lighting up the sky. It's another families' turn to die. A child afraid to even cry out says, He has been here.
And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness.
There are children standing here, Arms outstretched into the sky, But no one asks the question why, He has been here. Old men kneel and accept their fate. Wives and daughters cut and raped. A generation drenched in hate. Yes, he has been here.
And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. Only sadness.
PS: Im also a little bit sad:
I dont know how to put music and video on this bloggen.be

Everyone knows that there havebeen 2 very big wars in our region, two world wars... Of course there are still a lot of signs of them, here in the Flanders, for example there are a lot of cemetery's, especially with graves of English soldiers The wars where also the inspiration for poetry. This is a really famous poem, written by John Mc Crae...
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders Fields
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders Fields
The Iraq War: Illegal Immoral Unjust/ A Psychopath's War
Within hours of the attacks of September 11th, 2001, on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the Bush administration was blaming Osama bin Laden and his alleged Al-Qaeda network, and declaring a so-called war on terrorism.
At that time no suggestion was made that Iraq was in any way connected with the September 11th attacks. The propaganda campaign to make people believe that Saddam Hussein was behind the September 11th attacks was so successful that in mid-2003 the believers had grown to 70%. But in September 2003 George W. Bush admitted that there was no evidence linking Saddam to 9/11. Bush was said that Iraq had "weapons of mass destruction".
But after the regime of Saddam Hussein was overthrown, and US forces were able to inspect any place in Iraq they wished to, where were these "weapons of mass destruction"? None were found. That's because there weren't any.
The main reasons for the US invasion of Iraq were to gain control of Iraq's oilfields, to establish military bases in Iraq from which to dominate the Middle East and eventually to establish control over all countries dependent on oil.
Of course there were also other reasons. Iraq had begun to accept payment in euros for its oil, opening the way for all major oil producers to do this. Were this to happen then the euro would probably become the world's reserve currency, not the dollar. This would have a major negative impact on the US economy (would, in fact, cause the collapse of the US economy) .
A minor reason was that Bush, obviously a psychopath ( or as some would prefer to describe him, a sociopath ), delighted in ordering up a war sure to result in the deaths of thousands of people .
And war is always good for those companies which manufacture weapons. For such companies the death and destruction which results is of no concern.
