    Cut the chicken into bite- sized pieces.

    Combine the vinegar, tamarind juice, 1/ 4 cup curry powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add chicken and toss to coat. Heat the coconut oil in a wok or frying pan over medium heat. Cook the sliced onion, green chiles, cardamom pods, cloves, curry leaves, ginger, and cinnamon stick until the onion has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium- low, and continue cooking and stirring until the onion is very tender and dark brown, 15 to 20 minutes more.

    Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.

    Add the chicken mixture, water, and tomato paste. Stir and simmer until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes. Add the roasted curry powder and stir until evenly dispersed. Gradually stir in the coconut milk and simmer for 2- 3 more minutes. ( Do not overheat or the coconut milk may curdle. )

    Jan 15, 2008 This recipe doesn& # 39; t have that WOW factor, but it is interesting. Interesting good I would say. It is quick to make. . . I had it in the oven within 20 minutes.

    I did make a few changes. I didn& # 39; t bother with the olive oil, because the dripping from the beef were sufficent to do the vegetables. I cut the black pepper down to 1/ 4 tspn and reduced the red pepper flakes to a pinch based on the reviews I read that the dish was spicy. Even with those reductions the dish had plenty of spice, but also stayed & quot; kid friendly& quot; for my 4 and 6 year old. I also doubled the salt and added garlic powder. The 2 tblsn of half and half cream you add at the end of preperation seemed not to really contribute any real taste or texture ( cream- like ) quality to the dish, so when I make this again, I will probably omit it. Also next time I make this recipe I will add more potatos, because the ratio potatos/ meat is heavily on the meat side.

    I think I will cube 1 or 2 potatos mixing it up with the beef and still using sliced potatos for the top and bottom.

    Veganized it and baked in the oven. It was wonderful. 25 cup soymilk scalded. 3 Tbs Earth Balance melted in milk and Agave Nectar + sugar dissolved. Once 110 deg F was reached added yeast and let proof x 10 minutes. Mixed wheat flour, 3 Tbs vital wheat gluten ( I like this to increase chewiness and rise) , 1/ 4 c cornmeal. Stirred in as much of the flour mixture as possible and finished of the mixing/ kneading part in the stand mixer with dough hook.

    Put in oiled bowl, covered x 1 hour. Formed into loaf shape, let rise x 1 hour again. Then Baked at 350 deg F for 35- 40 minutes. It has this chew and crunch combination going on that is fantastic.

    Also, its a nice sweet treat with just a little Earth Balance. Thank you for the recipe!

    After reading the review by jho I feel that the directions to this recipe need to be reviewed. This recipe does not call for specific type of wood chip as every person has already decided on what they like, I developed this recipe using hickory and apple chips, but I' ve also used whatever I had on hand, just make sure that the chips are well soaked. The barbecue sauce portion is meant to be used if desired and adds a subtle taste that should not override the smoked flavor of the smoking process. The sauce should only be used on the ribs after the ribs go through the slow smoked process and should be done on a regular grill over indirect heat, you want the sauce to be very sticky. You may also use the sauce as a side on the table instead of cooking the sauce on the ribs.

    Some of my guests over the years prefer the ribs without the sauce. When using the rub you may adjust the amount you rub onto the ribs. There should be some leftover rub when you are finished applying the rub to the ribs. This recipe was never meant to be used directly on a grill. Direct grilling has a tendency to dry out the meat. This recipe was developed using a Brinkman Slow cooker using charcoal I have used a Brinkman gas slow cooker as the heat can be better controlled.

    I am now using a BBQ Grillware slow smoker when cooking these ribs. The main secret to moist great tasting ribs is slow cooking at a temperature of 225 to 250 degrees. The water/ wine in pan helps keep a moist environment.

    This salad was easy to prepare and enjoyable to eat.

    I used leftover rotisserie chicken I had, chopped up into bite size pieces. I threw in some dried sweetened cranberries along with everything else called for in the recipe. I added the mayonnaise, to taste, so it was not too creamy. I seasoned with Hawaiian sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste.     Overall, these are pretty good muffins. After reading the other reviews, I did make some changes. I used 3/ 4 cup all- purpose flour ( minus 2 tablespoons) and 3/ 4 cup whole wheat flour, and I doubled the cocoa powder ( which is why I reduced the flour by 2 tablespoons) . I used quick cooking oats instead of regular oats, 1/ 2 cup raisins, and 1/ 2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips. I also used skim milk, and omitted the oil, instead using 1/ 2 cup applesauce, which seemed to make the batter the right kind of consistency ( as I was adding the wet ingredients, I could see what others meant about the batter being too thick if you stick to the amount of liquid used in the original recipe) . The muffins came out of the oven moist, with a slightly crusty top, and are quite tasty.

I started the & quot; tweaking& quot; with a tablespoon of sugar and additional pinch of salt. Better, but not there. It just had no depth. So another tablespoon of sugar went in, followed by more dijon and eventually about 3 times the garlic.

    A volunteer taster agreed that it just seemed really one dimensional, so finally with the addition of 1/ 2 tsp thyme and three green onions it was really a lovely dressing, but by then, it was not this recipe at all, thus the three stars. This all surprised me because I took that first bite expecting to love it.

    I just found it lacking, but a nice base for additional flavor.

    Mi first meal with Pork Spare Ribs. My in- laws really loved it. I had 3 lb of pork but did not change any of the ingredient. It was perfect as is. Just like others, after 6- 8 hours in the slow cooker, I put it on the tray, put some bbq sause over it and let it stay for 10 minutes in 400 degree oven.

    That was it was a bit dryer, and more appealing to eat. Also, the sauce was really good with mashed potatoes. Not too strong, not too blend. . . just perfect.

    * I increased the # of eggs to 6. & # 10; & # 10; I made these for a baby shower and every single person LOVED these. I had never made them and was nervous making a new recipe, but I am so glad I did. & # 10; & # 10; Some people have halved the biscuits, but I did not.
