    Meer over Machete 

    Robert Rodriguez heeft weer meer onthuld over Machete, de lange speelfilm naar de neptrailer uit Grindhouse. Nadat hij eergisteren de volledige (en indrukwekkende) cast heeft prijsgegeven, komt hij nu met meer details over de film zelf.

    Danny Trejo is Machete, een voormalig lid van de Mexicaanse Federale Politie die tegenwoordig leeggeklopt door de druglord Torrez (Steven Seagal) over de straten van Texas zwerft. Schoorvoetend neemt hij een aanbod aan van spindoctor Benz (Jeff Fahey) om de corrupte senator McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) om te leggen. Bedrogen en met de kansen tegen hem gekeerd vlucht hij. Machete wordt bijgestaan door Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), een brutale tacowerper, Padro (Cheech Marin), zijn 'heilige' broer, en April (Lindsay Lohan), een socialite met een voorliefde voor vuurwapens. Ondertussen wordt hij achtervolgd door Sartana (Jessica Alba), een sexy ICE-agent met een speciale belang in de zwaardvechter. Opnames gaan binnenkort van start op Rodriguez' Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.
