Again great news from Malta.... Andrew Pace, overall Champion Hamrum Pigeon Club!!! When I write this Daily Episode it's 6:30 AM, a much better time than yesterday when I was on the road 5:15 AM... The birds arrived in Malta so that's great news.... When I opened my email box this morning I did find good news from Malta again.... Last week the last race in Hamrun Pigeon Club was held from Brindisi in Italy approx 625km. 250 pigeons in the race with hard circumstances... Wind force 7, rain and fog bothered the birds... Only 4 birds arrived on the day... Our good friend and client Andrew Pace was one of them and this resulted after the short-distance Championship in his club in the overall Championship also... Great to see Andrew placed himself amongst the biggest champions in Malta with only payable birds bought from our website!!! Again proof that not only the rich can become champions!!! The most expensive bird Andrew ever bought from us was approx 175,-!!!! Andrew congratulations!!!!

Pffff... What a day... The roads in Holland and Belgium are disaster!!!
5:00 AM my alarm clock wakes me... To bad he also waked my daughter Janine (15 months) so Linda needed to go out of the bed also... I hope I will have dinner later today... (LOL).... A busy days ahead of me.... first to the lofts to take care of the birds.... Then a quick coffee with my father and after that we gathered the birds for Malta... Then in the car to the Gyselbrechts (Pipa) to picked birds for the shipment to Malta... Hurry to Silvere Toye to pickup one more.... A traffic jam, so almost to late at the airport to deliver the birds.... pfff.... Just in time.... Katleen at the airport helped me big time to get them all in the baskets and yes.... They are on their way.... So guys the birds are coming... All together a hectic day, all day in the car and not to much in the office... Let's see if Linda did forgive me.... and I have dinner after all....
Gestern haben wir auf dem Kurzstreckenflug ab Epehy (268 km) ein Traumergebnis erzielt! Bei tollem Taubenwetter erfolgte der Auflaß um 10.00 Uhr. Um 13.09.16 Uhr fiel die erste Taube und in 10 Minuten sind 19 von 23 in der Uhr.
Das Ergebnis im Kring gegen 2.060 Tauben: 3, 5, 11, 14, 16, 34, 36, 53, 73, 75, 76, 88, 90, 96, 172, 174, 252, 307 en 321.
Nach der alten ,Nachmachen' Formel ergibt dies 458 Punkte, womit wir natürlich sehr zufrieden sind. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Tauben und das Wetter am Samstag gut bleiben, so dass wir ein gutes Ergebnis auf dem ersten Eintagesweitstreckenflug erzielen können.
In der Einsatzstelle erringen wir gegen 225 Tauben (15 Züchter): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 31, 33 en 35.
Auch auf meinem Schlag (,Kerwin') war es bei 4 gesetzten Tauben ein tolles Ergenis: 100% Preis 1:5 und 75% Preis 1:10. (In der Einsatzstelle: 11, 18, 27 en 49 Preis).
Die erste Taube auf dem Schlag von W. & F. Ebben war NL09-5909979 'Edgar'. Dieser Topvogel erringt in der Einsatzstelle den ersten Preis und hat bislang 4 Erste geflogen. Er ist ein Sohn aus NL01-5162316 'Supercrack 316' (1. NPO Montlucon 12.407 Tauben und 2. NPO La Souteraine 8.445 Tauben auf dem Schlag von Jo Manders) x 'Gaby' NL03-2083534 (Enkeltochter 'Bliksem' von Vandenabeele und Mutter/Großmutter von 13 verschiedenen 1. preis Fliegern.)
Unsere zweite Taube war NL09-1417315. Dieser Bruder von 'D-Day' war im letzten Jahr unser bester Jähriger. Dieser jahr fliegt er eher unregelmäßig, aber am Samstag hat er gezeigt das er immer noch zu einem Topresultat im Stande ist. Er erringt den 5. gegen 2.060 Tauben.
Als dritte Taube erreichte 'Fargo' NL10-1404018 unseren Schlag. Er ist einer unserer besten Jährigen und stammt aus dem Top-Paar 'Cyrus' x 'Cynthia'. Letzte Woche errang eine Tochter aus diesem Paar den 1. Preis in der Regio gegen 5.364 Tauben. 'Fargo' gewinnt bisher: 2. Duffel 2.337 Tauben. (1. Preis in der Einsatzstelle), 5. St. Job 5.210 Tauben, 29. Strombeek 5.161 Tauben, 2. Meer 245 Tauben und heute 3. Epehy 225 Tauben (11. gegen 2.060 Tauben).
Als vierte konnten wir NL10-1404063 'Freya' begrüßen, eine Vollschwester zu 'Fargo'. 'Freya' gewann letzte Woche den 1. ab Morlincourt gegen 5.364 Taben. Sie erringt den 4. gegen 225 Tauben (14. Kring gegen 2.060 Tauben). Weitere Top Ergebnisse: 4. Morlincourt 1.075 Tauben, 13. Mantes la Jolie 807 Tauben, 14. Epehy 2.060 Tauben, 26. Strombeek 1.861 Tauben, 38. Duffel 2.337 Tauben, 42. Strombeek 5.161 Tauben u.s.w.
Fünfte Taube war die NL10-1404007. Sie ist eine Tochter aus 'Alexander' x 'Belle' und wurde nur von 4 Schlaggenossen geschlagen. Im Club gewinnt sie den 5. gegen 225 Tauben und im Kring den 16. gegen 2.060 Tauben.
First provincial victory for Zwirs Strik in 2011 They are one of the lofts we believe in for years... Zwirs Strik from Kwintsheul, the coming man for sure... For years we sell their birds all over the globe, for the simple reason we believe in the quality of their birds and the birds are payable for all of you... Many guys who believed in our knowledge benefit already from their birds... Joseph Portelli in Malta bred a club ace pigeon from a Zwirs Strik cock which was bought after a tip from myself....!!! Maybe I know something about pigeons after all (LOL). May 21 a clear blue sky in Holland... The birds are released in Mantes La Jolie at 8:30... 380 KM to the lofts for Zwirs Strik in Kwintheul... 12:11:12 the first arrived with a speed of 1352.892 meters per minute... Good for the 1st against 7850 pigeons!!! Again proof that these birds can win big time.... and that that are on the wright track by selling these guys birds.... Top class, winning birds for workingman prices.... Make sure you get yourself a few... We do not have much left now....
Vorige week heeft u op onze site kunnen lezen dat Duivensites, door het verscheiden van het NPOrgaan, heeft gemeend de rubriek Nadoen opnieuw leven in te blazen.
Zoals u toen heeft kunnen lezen tellen alleen de NPO en Nationale vluchten. Op verzoek van veler hebben we het aantal vluchten, welke kunnen worden ingezonden, uitgebreid.

Voor de beste maandprestaties zijn leuke prijzen te verdienen, maar ook een vermelding bij de beste weekprestaties is natuurlijk al eervol! Doe mee!

We hadden u beloofd om de puntenberekening uit te leggen, deze is als volgt:
Prijspercentage 1:100 x 10 punten
Prijspercentage 1:10 x 2 punten
Prijspercentage 1:4 x 1 punt
Aantal prijzen totaal x 1 punt
Indien de 1e prijs wordt gewonnen wordt 1% van het aantal duiven in concours als bonuspunten, voor de 1e en 2e prijs krijgt u 2% van het aantal duiven enz...
Gisteren hebben we op een mooie vitessevlucht vanuit Epehy (268 km) een droomresultaat neergezet. Met prachtig weer werden de duiven om 10.00 uur gelost. Om 13.09.16 uur viel de eerste en binnen 10 minuten zitten er 19 van de 23 in de klok.
Het resultaat in de kring tegen 2.060 duiven: 3, 5, 11, 14, 16, 34, 36, 53, 73, 75, 76, 88, 90, 96, 172, 174, 252, 307 en 321.
Volgens de oude 'Nadoen-formule' levert deze uitslag 458 punten op. Met zo'n uitslag zijn we uiteraard supertevreden. Het is te hopen dat de duiven, en het weer op zaterdag, goed blijven zodat we op de dagfond ook mooie uitslagen neer kunnen zetten.
In het inkorfcentrum winnen we tegen 225 duiven (15 deelnemers): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 31, 33 en 35.
Op het hokje van Kerwin ging het met vier duifjes mee ook prima: 100% prijs en 75 % prijs per tiental (in het inkorfcentrum werd het 11, 18, 27 en 49 tegen 225 duiven).

Als derde arriveerde bij ons 'Fargo' NL10-1404018 en dat is dit jaar één van onze beste jaarlingen. Hij komt uit het topkoppel 'Cyrus' x 'Cynthia' waar de eerste prijswinnaar van de regio (5.364 duiven) van verleden week onder andere ook een dochter van is. 'Fargo' won in zijn korte loopbaan onder meer 2e Duffel 2.337 duiven (1e inkorfcentrum), 5e St. Job 5.210 duiven, 29e Strombeek 5.161 duiven, 2e Meer 245 duiven en dan vandaag 3e Epehy 225 duiven (11e kring 2.060 duiven).

I have very exciting news for my newsletter readers. For the past year, together with Nikolaas Gyselbrecht, the founder of PIPA, I have researched the history of the new Super Strain De RauwSablon, important interviews were held with all of the key personalities involved in this unique history, including the founders themselves. I was delighted to have participated together with Nikolaas. It was a unique experience that resulted in an outstanding book with worldwide appeal. Author's Foreword
For years I have been fascinated by the Lord of The Rings Trilogy by Tolkien. The eternal battle between good and evil that is faced by every generation. Within the racing pigeon world we, all of us, also fight an eternal battle but unlike the battle of good versus evil we fight an eternal battle against Nature. There is a sense in which Nature is truly our enemy, the enemy of every pigeon fancier. We are then, in that sense, locked in mortal combat, with Nature, an eternal battle at Helm's Deep.
Nature is not on our side and so we have no alternative but to declare war against her dominion, against her domination. The simple truth is that Nature abhors order. Nature is the great equalizer; Nature does not willingly admit of extremes. Left to herself, Nature reverts to the common form. If left to her designs, Nature never progresses from less order to greater order, but always from order to disorder. In short, Nature promotes mediocrity, not excellence. Nature promotes sameness and that is what I mean when I use the term the common form. The champion, the super pigeon the super strain is not the common form it is the exceptional form it is this extreme form that Nature seeks constantly, to dilute and return to mediocrity. It is in this context that I have declared Nature to be the enemy, the enemy of all breeders of pure stock (be it pigeons, horses, cattle, sheep, dogs, etc.). We, as livestock breeders, seek to mold pure stock to our purposes and our needs and our needs are opposed to mediocrity for we, all of us, seek the Champion the Exceptional individual, be it the exceptional racer or the exceptional breeder.
Over the centuries certain pigeon fanciers developed a vision of a pigeon that could return to its home from greater and greater distances and in shorter and shorter times. This special breed needed to orient quickly, have great endurance and even greater speed. The development of these special strains of pigeons were taken on by visionaries who were intent on creating families of pigeons that, with the passage of time, have come to carry their names. These few fanciers had abilities that most fanciers can never hope to attain. These special stockmen had first and foremost a vision. They wanted to achieve that which had never been achieved before, they had dedication, they had perseverance such that repeated failures did not deter or discourage them, and they were calculated in implementing their vision, seeking out what genetic material they needed at precisely the point in time that they needed it. In short these special few who created strains or families of racing pigeons had Stock Sense, that rare gift of recognizing real quality in animals. This sixth sense of sorts cannot usually be taught; you either have an aptitude for it or you don't. Good stock sense stacks the probability of potential success much more in your favour than in that of someone with no such sense. Let me be clear the great majority of racing pigeon enthusiasts do not have it!
Stock sense what I sometimes refer to as a sixth sense is important because the exceptional individual that is the exceptional pigeon is rarely recognized, for most fanciers will only ever come to appreciate this jewel after the fact, rarely before! So these savants with real stock sense see what other men fail to see and consequently reap the benefits of their abilities because of their intuitive insights.
If we return to the fascinating mythology of the Lord of the Rings for a moment, we discover that a very key role was played by a race of extremely powerful, proud but secretive little men called Dwarves. They built a magnificent empire under the mountains of Middle-Earth. They used their special skills to mine precious metals like gold and silver.
These special yet secretive little people remind me of the powerful yet secretive group of brothers, the little people of Arendonk. They used their special skills to mine something more precious to us than gold or silver. These little men, these little brothers from their little town in Belgium used their special talents to develop a family of pigeons that has, like a colossus dominated, the pigeon world for three quarters of a century. The Strain has proudly carried their family name forward like a shield ready to do battle in all corners of our pigeon world. Janssen was the pigeon colossus that grew to dominate and colonize the world and like the Dwarves of the Trilogy their fame is now assured for all time. An enormous amount of material has been written about these brothers and their strain but the reality is that their secrets, what they really did and how they really did it is known only to them. When I think about this exceptional strain called Janssen I am reminded of that passage from Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare: Act 1, Scene 11 where Cassius states:
Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world Like a Colossus, and we petty men Walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves. Men at some time are masters of their fates: The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in ourselves, that we are underlings
For 75 years the racing pigeon world has been dominated by a colossus called Janssen. Today, most racing pigeon fanciers could not and would not ever conceive of an end to that dominance, but I am reminded of that passage in Ecclesiastes 3:1 which simply states that: All things have their season, and in their times all things pass under heaven.
All things pass under heaven and even though I am a dedicated breeder of Janssen pigeons, it is my belief that we are now witness to the beginning of the end for the Janssen colossus. Since every end is only a new beginning we will also witness the birth of a new strain, a new colossus that can now be seen only faintly on the global horizon. Its features, so far, are only well known to a few.
However, in time, this new strain, I believe, will grow to have dominion over the entire racing pigeon world. A new order can be seen in the distance. De Rauw-Sablon has begun to do battle and is emerging powerfully and with it new Kings of racing are and will emerge. It will not be easy, but in one competition after another this new strain will emerge victorious. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 some of the owners of this new powerful strain reaped huge financial rewards on PIPA but this is only the beginning.
In 1422 the French declared upon the death of Charles the VI and the coronation of Charles VII: "Le Roi est mort. Vive le Roi!," "The King is dead. Long live the King"
We certainly live in interesting times and with the emergence of the strain De Rauw-Sablon we will witness the birth of a new group of powerful racing pigeon Kings. Their impact will be felt at all levels from the racing at local club and combine levels to the great national races and the ever popular global one loft super races!

Late in 2010 I received delivery of the following incredible De Rauw Sablon cocks to be paired straight as well as to be crossed with my own super inbred Spanjaard Janssens. These cock are the finest De Rauw Sablons available in the world today.
1) Silvios De Locco B-2010-4253206 Blue Bar Cock. Selected for me directly by Nikolaas Gyselbrecht and Johan Van Damme.This is a direct son of De Locco who was 1st National Brive 2010 against 16,815 pigeons, 4th Brive 2009 against 4,800 pigeons. 41st Limoges against 11,869 pigeons 2009 and 7th Bourges against 4,282 pigeons in 2008. In addition to these incredible results De Locco was also 7th National ASD. Fond 2009, 3rd Provincial ASD Fond 2009,3rd ASD Belgium Verstandh 2009, 1st ASD F.C.D. Fond 2009. Provincial ASD Half Fond 2008.Additionally he is the father to est Interprovincial against 4,793 pigeons and father to 15th Provincial ASD Half Fond 2009. To top off this incredible record De Locco was sold to China in the Fall of 2010 for $242,645.57 USD ( 170,000 Euros).
