Personal Narrative
On February 23, 2006 I moved from Holland to America. It was kind of weird because I had to learn a whole new language. When I heard I was moving I felt many different emotions. I was excited, sad, and nervous. I was sad because I was leaving my friends and family. I was excited because not every kid gets the chance to move to another continent, and I was nervous because I didnt know what it was going to be like.
My brother, mother, father, and sister moved with me. I moved to America because of my dads work. 3 years ago my dad went on a business trip to America. He liked America a lot. He told someone how much he liked America then he said why dont you just move here? Then it all started.
My dad told me we were moving about 2 months later. He told us later because he didnt know what we were going to feel like. Now I live In America. I still have all the Dutch traditions though. We still have Sinterklaas its kind of like Santa Clause, Queens Day its the day we celebrate for the queen of Holland, and Saint Maarte its a tradition were we walk around with sticks and a light on them and we sing and get candy similar to Halloween and many more traditions. I like living in America.
