Hier zoals altijd alles goed ^^.
Hello
Here as always everything well ^^. For now still sun. In May the rain time would start and so there will be a lot off chance that the street (and apparently our house too) will be under water. Let us hope that wont happen.
On stage it going well at least they tell us we doing well, so I guess that will be hehe. But again the people here their culture(s).. U are really being taken up in (they take us like part off their family (Suriname) ). This is our second home en thats how we actually feel too, home for a part.
Of course sill always compare to Belgium, but thats good 2, now u realize really how much we actually have but we still always complain. Here they almost have nothing, but still u almost here no one complain. Nice right?
5hehe then I talk about toch translated it something like right it just Dutch word they use here after every sentence.) µApperently I can talk Suriname (Sranantongo), I was something saying to a brother (male nurse). And after it a sister asks me if I can talk Sranantogo? Im like uhm ni Hehe according to her I had just said something in sranantongo. Seems weird to me because I almost cant speak any word Sranantongo lol. Its a kind off mix between Dutch and English, but also many other words u cant make anything from.
Almost had an accident today, where riding on our bikes to home and leen suddenly slides to side off the road, so I using brakes really hard (but off course here they not work) so I go to side so I can pass her.. At that moment she comes on road again so almost bump on her Im like: ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Almost hit her . But luckily no one got harmed maybe just the ears from people passing from screaming lol.
The 2 nurses where almost in the hospital.
So this was it for adventures in the beautiful Paramaribo and lets hope many will follow
Hey,
Now we are working I dont have many stories. But I can tell u that sometimes there are weird visitors in the hospital, like for example a street dog. Nobody looks up for that. Sometimes it hard to see that there are so less materials here. A patient dies, where I can think then if it was in Belgium probably would have still been alive
But the people here really do their best en save many other lives. For the rest days pass really fast.
I looked nicely red today, apparently been in the sun bit too long. The musquetobites are becoming a little less but they will leave a few nice scarfs on my legs strange is u get after them some blue spots there
Till next time
Sister/zuster Sofie
PS: few pics from hospital/board and from the city
