Afgelopen 20ste juli nam Eyckmans Frans,renner uit de E-reeks deel aan de derde wedstrijd van de AXA Cup in Marici, Kroatië.Vorig jaar namen Laenen Tom(B reeks) en Eyckmans Tim (C reeks) hier ook reeds de start en hadden ze Frans al wat kunnen informeren over de omstandigheden...dit jaar hadden de organisatoren het parkoer nog een beetje "verscherpt" met 2 extra klimmetjes en een korte maar hevige afdaling..Onder een loden zon (+- 34°)namen een 60tal deelnemers de start in een open klasse..Er werde 6 ronden van 4km afgelegd..
Na iets meer dan een uur wedstrijd en ondanks een contact met moeder aarde werd Frans afgevlagd op een 13de stek algemeen en 2de in zijn reeks(+50).
