Gatwick Airport reassures passengers over baggage

Gatwick have said they "expect nothing to go wrong" with baggage handling as it prepares to receive almost 300,000 travellers through the airport this weekend.

It comes after passengers reported waits of up to five hours to reclaim their luggage last weekend.

Swissport, the baggage handling company, said the chaos was beyond their control and have drafted in extra staff this weekend.

Gatwick Airport have also contributed 60 of its own staff to help.
