Stephen Kinnock: May's snap election talk 'chilling'

Prime Minister Theresa May has announced plans to call a snap general election on 8 June.

She said Britain needed certainty, stability and strong leadership following the EU referendum.

Explaining the decision, Mrs May said: "The country is coming together but Westminster is not."

But Labour's MP for Aberavon, Stephen Kinnock, described her talk of a united Westminster as "chilling".

He said: "That seems to suggest she wants to turn our country into some kind of elective dictatorship."
