Mr Bortniczak was a former student at Danum Academy, Doncaster, where the other four teenagers attended.

Hundreds of pupils joined together with teachers to pay their respects at the church.

Head teacher Rebecca Staples said: "It's very difficult to come to terms with just one child death but five child deaths is unbearable."

Mr Bortniczak, who trained with Doncaster Rovers' foundation academy, was described as a "cheeky, mischievous, thoroughly likeable young man".

A 21-year-old man from Doncaster has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.
