I remember the days before I had my drivers license.
Everytime someone let me be the passenger in the car, they didin't get a word from me.
I was to busy looking out the window, daydreaming.
Or the days we toke a nap when needed, even during the day. Especially after eating.
My mom was the expert in it. She could lay down, fall immediately a sleep
and wake up after something as short as 20min as a fresh person.
    Ready to start working again.
Where are the days, I retreated to my room for some quiet time. Me-time.

Now, when we have to wait somewhere, we immediate take our phone out and start scrolling endlessly.
When are we ever really done with everything we need to do?
After work, we need to make dinner, take care of our pets or/and the children, go to the gym, do laundry, ...
And when we sit at home alone and it is all quiet, we get anxious, we think we are lonely or bored?
We start thinking of what we can do.

    What is happening to us?

Have we forgotten the importance of having our brain processing everything we see, learn, think, feel,...
And to have our body do the same, including after a meal.

Resting gives your brain the opportunity to be creative, to put the puzzle pieces in the right place and process the experience.
So, understand that in our society where consuming all the time is what we do, it is important to take some rest everyday.
Even if it is just 10 minutes by walking, looking out the window, drinking a cup of tea, dancing, listening to your favorite music, singing,...

I know so many persons who can't relax any more.
They stay tensed all the time because they are so used to stress.
Make a deal with yourself and understand the purpose of relaxing a few times a day.
For instance: you can start after waking up by using a wake-up light or an alarm, not your phone.
So, instead of scrolling, you go to the toilet, get a cup of tea, sit down for 10 minutes to start your day relaxed and positive.
At lunch time you take a ten minute walk around the block, just to clear your head.
In the afternoon or evening when you leave your job, take a few minutes in the car or train, to look outside, just to muse.
That way you become you are relaxed when you take part of traffic or when you get off the train.
And finally at night, before bed time, you take again 10 minutes to make sure your brain and body know it's time to go to sleep.

It easy but makes such a difference.
You deserve it and so does your temple.

    Lots of caring love

    Natascha

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

One time I got the question: "do you love yourself?"
And my immediate thought was: Of course, I  like what I see in the mirror. People tell me I have confidence, so... sure I do.

    But actually I didn't.
To know what truely loving yourself means, you have to understand the meaning of love.

To love yourself, you have to do the following FOR yourself:
    • Accepting yourself
    • Protecting yourself
    • Caring for yourself
    • And taking responsibility for your wellbeing
If you lack one of those, you don't love yourself enough and when none of the above meets up, you just don't.

When I looked at the 4 points mentioned, I had to admit
that I dind't truely accepted, protected or cared for myself, let alone that I took responsibility for my wellbeing!!!
That was the reason of my burn-out! The true reason.
Not the hard work, not the fact nobody listend when I told them that everything was too much.
I didn't love myself! Because if I did, the burn-out had no chance to take me down.
My body would have been rested when needed, my mind would have been recharged as well as my heart.

    Do you love yourself?
If not, take action, you deserve it!
It is up to you, and only to you, to make the right choice for you!

    Lots of love

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

Is Social media something where we are true to ourself?
Do we put out what we want to share or what we think our audience wants to see?
When we post a picture or a story, is it something we wanna share with the rest or do we think about what the perception will be?

Even I must admit that I thought that it was my obligation to always tell or give something positive.
I also admit that I thought it was needed because even I don't like to see when others constantly bring themselves or others down.
I can kill my mood instantly.
So, I started to engage to the "good news-show" for my audience.

Untill I learned an important lesson by getting a burn-out:
Life is not perfect and my thoughts are not always positive.
And that is okay. We need this to appreciate the positive times better.
This creates the balance of live, without it there is no positive!
Sure, we all love more followers. It gives us the feeling of being liked.
    Who doesn't like that?

The funny part is that the onces who stay the most authentic have the most followers these days.
People wanna related to you and your story.
So, next time you post something on Facebook, Istagram, Twitter, You tube-channel, ... reflect on what you wanna do.
Or you putting up a show or being who you truely or.

Klik hier om een link te hebben waarmee u dit artikel later terug kunt lezen.2. Clean up your closset
Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

    Let's start ordering your closset.

When you wanna know what to wear, you need to take some steps:
    1. What are the 10 basic items you need in your closset?
    2. Order your closset.
    3. Which colours are the most flattering for you?
    4. Which style gives other the best impression of you?

This article is about number 2.
After you check out the 10 basic items, you have to orden your closset.
How? Real simple, you make 3 piles with every clothing you have.

Pile1: the clothes you love or wear constantly.
Pile 2: the clothes that need allteration (for example: is missing a button, needs to be shortend, needs to be tucked, ...)
Ask yourself if you want this to be done or is worth it?
Pile 3: the clothes you don't like to wear, are out of fashion or are not worth the money spend for an allteration.

When having a hard time chosing which pile, these questions can help you out:
    • Do you need this?
    • Is it a reflection of the person I wanna be?
    • Does it make me smile?
    • If I would start over tomorrow, would this be still in my live?
    • Is it time to let go, to sell, to give it away or to throw it away?
When everything is sorted and you have only 3 piles left, you ditch pile 3 in the bin.
Then you mark every clothing of pile 2 with the necessary allteration (with a post-it in or on it) and put everything nicely folded in a bag to the person/shop that can do this for you.
Pile 1 is the only pile that can go straight back into your closset.

Take the time to do this. Make it your me-time and let yourself feel what you like and don't like.
Feelings from the gut or so important. I allignes you with your inner voice, which is connected with the universe!
So what I am saying is, don't overthink, ask yourself if you like it and feel the answer.
Trust those feelings, they will reward you in the long run.
    That's a promise. https://www.bloggen.be/Images/Skin/smiles/icon_surprised.gif

Tip: when you buy a new piece, make sure you don't have it already and throw an old piece away.
This way you don't get clutter or not enough space for everything.

    Have fun organizing.

    Lots of love

    • Day dress
    • Skirt
    • White shirt
    • Blazer
    • Classic dress pants
    • Jeans
    • An alternative for sweatpants.

Of course evey one needs a different model.

Klik hier om een link te hebben waarmee u dit artikel later terug kunt lezen.1. Has talking become a taboo or are pshychologists becoming more available to us?
Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

I used to get shivers from the word "psychologist".
"I am not crazy?! And what am I going to do there? Talk? As if talking solves my problems?"
But ... when are we really talking? To whom do we now expose our deepest feelings? Or do we dare to be vulnerable?

With the largest majority, such as acquaintances, neighbors, ...
I have superficial conversations: about the weather or current events, holidays and so on.

I talk to the smaller minority, who are a bit closer than family and friends, like a good news-show. Everything always goes well.

And to the smallest group, which is closest to me, being a friend, a colleague or partner,
I mostly speak negatively: about my boss, the job, men, my weight, ... but my real feelings? No, not really.
And when I try, it's only half the time. I dare to say something more to them once in a while, but do not fully put all my feelings on the table.

Only 1 person hears my deepest feelings.
I only dare to fully expose myself to 1 person. That is my psychologist.
She hears my deepest thoughts / feelings every time.
And it's only for an hour each time.
Still...  that hour brings me so much further. Makes me so much lighter. Gives me the necessary insights.
Even though we do not always agree with each other immediately.
It is always without judgment, in confidence, safe!

How did that happen? Are we afraid of being sentenced?
Do we still make time to really talk and / or listen to each other?
Are we afraid of being hurt or hurting someone? Have we been forgotten how to because of social media?
Sometimes it seems as if we have forgotten how important it is to talk to each other, to listen to how others feel or think.

Is it strange that we even have a specialist for talking nowadays?

    And luckily there are enough.
Both in the private sector and through agencies such as the Center for Mental Healthcare (*CGG in Belgium).

Whether you do it with a psychologist or a close one.
Make time for each other .... for yourself!
    Because talking helps.

    Lots of love
With a special thanks to Eva Willems.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

Feng Shui is the doctrine of "wind and water".
Here I will explain more about the wind or the breath of life.
Also called prana, iliaster, odyle, mana, ruah by others.
So, it is something that lives in many other cultures, not just in the Chinese.

They call the positive wind the Chi.
It is the healthy, pure, beneficial energy flow. Actually the source of our well-being.
The intention of Feng Shui is to ensure that the Chi can penetrate our homes without any problems
and can move freely, as it is the case outside in nature.
Suppose this is not the case, the Chi is blocked by too many angles for example
or due to stagnation or the loss of power between window and door, the Chi changes to Sha Chi: the source of inability.

The intention is therefore that we bring order to our house and our rooms
so that we no longer have Sha Chi, but rather Chi, which can flow carefree.

For this there are conductors in the Feng Shui, the five elements:
    1. Earth: evokes stability, harvest or absorption of a substance. This includes all minerals. And earth is symbolically represented as flat objects and the color yellow.
    2. Wood: stands for life, the beginning of something new, growth and rapid development. Symbolically represented by cylindrical shapes, long and sturdy. The color is green.
    3. Fire: think of passion, light and dynamics. Presented in sharp and pointed forms. The color is red.
    4. Water: is associated with wealth and prosperity because it stands for everything that flows and comes together. For this we use the wavy shapes and the colors black and blue.
    5. Metal: when we think of metal, we think of density, durability, rigid. Round and semicircular shapes are the symbol of this, along with the color white.

Know that it is more about what the elements stand for than the materials themselves.
Each element determines the following. I'll explain:
You know that if you burn "wood", you have "fire", and then ashes are formed, which make up "earth".
When the earth hardens, "metals" are formed. When they start to sweat, "water" is created.
That in itself is the nutrition for "wood".
Meaning, wood can turn into fire. Next we have earth that becomes metal, that becomes water. And with water we come back to wood.

We use the five elements to form a cycle through creation and destruction where necessary.
This way the elements can interact with each other to ensure that the Chi flows correctly in our houses.
Because the Feng Shui is only properly applied in a space when Ying and Yang are in balance and the elements are in harmony.

    Lots of harmony with love

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

As you know, balance is important in my eyes.
Everything runs in an up and down movement.
There are two sides to everything, one positive and one negative.
With one, it is more positive and with the other, it is more negative.
It even seems that one needs the other and that it can shift into the other.

This is actually the same with "Ying and Yang".
According to Chinese philosophy, the interaction of these two opposing energy flows is the cause of the existence of the universe.
They are two forces that are complementary.
Every rhythm in our universe is a sign of their interaction.
Ying stands for femininity, tranquility, cold, darkness, the moon, the night, negativism ...
Yang stands for masculinity, activity, warmth, light, the sun, the day, positivism ...
That is why things are always something more than the other, but you also need to realize that the origin of one lies in the other.
That is a very important fact!
For instance: you feel down and weak today, you feel more Ying.
But when you decide to take that feeling and use it as a strenght to stand up and go for your goal,
like going to the gym and feeling better because of it, you become more Yang.
Or when a side of your house is standing in the shadow in the morning,
in the afternoon, the shadows gets pushed away by the sun. It becomes the sunny-side.

In other words: nothing is purely black and white, positive or negative.
Both sides are important and need each other to be complete.
    That way you get balance.
    Think about it.
Because it is also important to get more understanding between people.

    Lots of awareness with love

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen

Feng Shui was created around 4000 years ago.
Its roots can be found in ancient Chinese mythology.
According to ancient traditions, China was originally ruled by various tribes led by shama kings.
They were masters of the energy of water and wind.
And that is the literal meaning of Feng Shui: "wind and water".

To one of those kings: Fu Hsi, always depicted with a tiger skin because of his enormous spiritual power,
we owe the knowledge of the first "bagua", known as former heaven.
The bagua is a geometric grid with which the physical zones can be discovered that correspond to certain events.

The Chinese supporters of feng shui are convinced that the space in which we live
and the layout of the various rooms in our house could have an important influence on the harmony in our human life.
The orientation and design of a house, the arrangement of the furniture, the direction in which the bed is placed,
the colors and the decoration that is applied, all contribute to a relaxing or stimulating environment.

The shamans, who were the first to use feng shui, discovered that the earth possesses natural forces whose influence on the environment is noticeable.
By studying those forces, they learned how to create harmony between those forces and humans.
So, later on they were able to use these to the benefit of humans.

Feng Shui is a flexible but extensive discipline that contains ancient traditions, philosophy, religion, medicine, practices and rituals.
Many positive events in our lives can therefore be alligned, solely  by following its simple rules.

Those roles will be given in the following articles of Feng Shui.

Have fun organizing your home to create more balance.

    Lots of love
